The dead body in the nest.

Chapter 13: Glitching alarm clock

Chapter Text

Tim followed after Danny and noticed that the exists where still frozen over. Danny was pouting on the couch.

"Do you really want to be evil, danny?" Tim inquired curiously.

Danny suddenly glitched. Galaxies tried to escape his human frame. He looked like he was riving in pain and screaming, but there was no sound. Tim could have sworn he exploded once, but it was just like these multiple glowing green eyes around the room. Or his flickering glow.

But as soon as these images ran through Tim's mind they were completely gone. As if Danny was just sitting there curled, on the couch, pouting. As if he never moved at all.

"I was once..." Danny admitted frustratedly.

"Ehmm, are you okay?" Tim questioned worriedly.

Danny tilted his head in Tim's direction confused.

"You would leave, just like them" Danny went back to pouting and buried his head in his arms.

"Your family?" Tim inquired and sat down besides him.

Danny narrows his eyes at him, but gave a tiny nod.

"Are they dead?" Tim questioned.

"No, they aren't." Danny admitted uncomfortably.

"Do you want me to return you to your family?" Tim offered.

"Gotham wouldn't let me leave and most of them don't exist anymore" Danny explained. "And add to that monsters like us are rarely welcome anywhere, really..."

"Your family is like you?" Tim asked surprised.

"Well Dani is and Jazz is also very resistant towards death" Danny explained sheepishly.

Tim narrowed his eyes in thought, resistant towards death?

"I know both of them still exist somewhere, but with how illegal we are... It's probably hard to find them again" Danny stated sadly.

"Danny, I already told you that we took care of that law. It's gone for good" Tim deadpanned. He really hated how he needed to keep reminding Danny, that he infact wasn't illegal anymore.

"That doesn't change what we are!" Danny exclaimed annoyed.

"But what you are isn't a monster. It's a person. You are a person Danny!" Tim declared sternly.

Danny fiddled with the hem of his shirt, but stayed silent. He looked the same, as when he thought, that if he continued fighting, Tim would punish him. It was one of his instincts he had from the lab.

"I will find the rest of your family and make sure they are somewhere safe" Tim decided determinedly.

Danny's eyes widened at his declaration. "You want to own us all?"

Tim sighed. "No, Danny I don't own you. You are not a thing to be owned. You are your own person with your own decisions"

Danny looked down sadly. "Being a person is scary"

"Why would you think that?" Tim inquired bewildered.

"It's harder to control my emotions if I am a person..." Danny admitted uncomfortably.

"Why would you need to control your emotions?" Tim questioned intrigued.

"Well I don't want to destroy the world again..." Danny trails of embarrassed.

"Oh, so when you're emotions get out of control, the world is fucked." Tim stated.

"Sorry" Danny apologized again.

"I won't leave you then and you have to be my corpse boy" Tim instructed.

Danny beamed excitedly and nodded furiously.

"But do you really think corpse's can be monsters?" Tim inquired smugly.

Danny looked at him surprised. "Normally no... But Zombies are monsters"

"Well you are not a Zombie, you are just a living corpse" Tim explained.

Danny blushed in embarrassment, but nodded. As if what Tim said made perfect sense. It didn't not even one bit. But at least Danny now stopped thinking of himself as a monster. Tim's logic here was Danny was not a logical being. So it would only really make sense to Danny if it was not logical. Especially with how Danny had glitched.

Tim smiled at Danny and stood up and checked his nests cameras. He was greeted with static right as Danny entered back into the main room. Which ended as soon as Tim sat down on the couch. What ever Danny was, was powerful.

Danny looked wide eyed at the static of Tim's computer.

"Could you fix it? The static I mean" Tim requested.

"Are you sure? I am scary" Danny rubbed his arm shamefully.

"Yes" Tim nodded.

Danny grimaced and reluctantly reached into the computer screen. The static turned clearer and clearer. Until he retreated his hand. Danny really didn't look human at all in the video feet. Well only in some frames, were he didn't look well and distinctively human.

He entered the room and crashed to the floor. Then it cut to a void with glowing green eyes that acted as stars. Multiple limbs sprouted out of Danny's body and not all of them were human in nature. It looked like he was trying to separate himself from a much older looking Danny. He crawled to the couch in agony. Then he was so massive that the room itself shifted to fit him.

It was all so messy and wild. There was a frame that looked like a star exploded right where Danny was supposed to be.

Tim paused the video feet and looked at Danny besides him. "Has this happen before?"

Danny nodded and looked away shamefully.

"What triggered you?" Tim inquired curiously.

"I thought... About the family that is gone and that we can't- lose more" Danny shivered fearfully.

"We?" Tim repeated.

"Ah, yeah... Dan woke up. He was a bit upset that Jazz wasn't around" Danny smiled fondly.

"Is Dan a ghost? Can ghosts sleep?" Tim asked bewildered.

Danny shook his head. "Dan is hard to explain" he smiled sheepishly

"I don't care if you own us, but if you hurt Danny. I will erase your entire family" He said as Danny's eyes turn red.

Tim blinked at Danny in surprise. "Are you like a different personality of Danny's?"

Dan snorted. "Kind of, the stupid scientists thought fusing us would destroy us. They were wrong and now we are stuck together"

Danny transformed into Phantom and duplicated himself.

"Better than you being completely erased" Danny with his green glowing eyes Huffed.

"Admit it, you would have liked me gone more" Danny with Red glowing eyes deadpanned.

"No, I know we are not on the best of therms, but that doesn't mean you should be gone" Danny Crossed his arms.

"Ehm, hello Dan and aren't you right now separated?" Tim pointed out.

"No, it's just more comfortable to talk like this" Danny answered.

"More like argue, you have grown again" Dan noticed after rolling his eyes.

"... Sadly, yeah" Danny agreed.

"If you grow even more like that, it might be bigger than a whole state" Dan smirked smugly.

"You should not be happy about this" Danny sighed.

"Okay so now there are two of you, could one of you unfreeze the exits?" Tim requested.
