For those readers new to this series:
Welcome to the Whumptoberverse! Here are some points to help you navigate the series:
- This is an AU set between Civil War and Infinity War. It begins with an alternate end to Civil War and continues into a timeline where the Avengers continue to live at the Compound and work as a team, but under the Sokovia Accords.
- The fics are best read in order. The fics up until Project Cassandra work well enough as standalones, but the best experience of the overall story is beginning with 'Til the Fight is Done and reading in order. If a fic isn't for you and you would like to skip it, you can find synopses of the fics at the beginning of Project Cassandra and Barton Luck.
- There is no character-bashing. Arguments from both Team Iron Man and Team Cap are taken into account, but I'm less interested in what characters I thought were right, and more interested in why the characters thought they were right.
- These characters are not perfect. They've all been hurt, and they all make choices and decisions based on that hurt, and they are not always the right ones.
- Things get worse before they get better. These relationships get fractured even more before they get fixed. The series' two low points happen at the end of We Forgot to Break Up and Mole.
- Characters can be unreliable narrators. These fics are written in third-person limited omniscient, i.e. we get the point of view of one character per fic, and how they are observing reality. Perspectives are shaped by flaws and biases, and things are not always as they seem.
- This series has a happy ending. By the conclusion of the last fic, all conflicts between the characters will have been resolved, there are no Major Character Deaths, and everyone ends up with a happily ever after.

The rewrites won't be massive and you don't need to reread any of these fics to enjoy what's coming up at the end of the series, but there are some characters and plot points that will be fleshed out in order to make the last act of the series more earned and satisfying.
