The words rippled, oil across water. Dan struggled to pay attention, to swim back to the surface. Was he swimming? His clothes certainly felt damp enough.
He managed to peel open his eyes just in time to see a scrawny leg wrapped in rags set down in front of him.
Oh no.
The Elder- the darksider- and Master Tajin had come straight to him.

Summary
Once Port Security finished going through the motions of verifying Kratu’s identity, it only took a few minutes to ease her ship through the mountain spires and set down on the shelf of rock outside her friend Abat’s home. She could see him, through the open door of his home, bustling about with whatever last minute tidying the man felt he needed to perform. She could also sense, at the edge of her awareness, a little flicker of curiosity, keeping watch but also keeping its distance.
When Kratu stepped down out of her ship, she paused, smiling, to glance around the landing shelf and the narrow path curving off around the mountain. Her friend’s young daughter proved too skillful in hiding, however, and after a moment Kratu set her search aside, striding towards the house.
