Summary
Soap has endured many hardships in his relatively short life. A deep loneliness as an unmated male, without a pod or family to hunt and play with, no children to raise and dote on, no attentive lover to warm his bed.
Until him. His husband.

Summary
Soap won't deny he's thought about it, what Simon looks like beneath all his clothes. His former husband was by no means a slob despite his job, which to Soap's knowledge required no manual labor. He was tall and fit, strong enough to hold Soap down when he got restless, to leave no doubt that he could carry out any threat of violence made against Soap. Simon is bigger in every way, but Soap doesn't read threat in the fluid movements of his limbs or his smile full of savage teeth.
No, all that strength, he knows, has only been used to protect him.

Summary
Soap isn't a huge believer in Fate, but he can't deny she's smiling on him in the days after Simon wakes up from his five-day-long nap.
He's tired and groggy, a little gaunt in the face, his belly concave. Soap is quick to offer him the fish that's still fresh, first, feeding Simon by hand as he lazily chews, his cheek pillowed on Soap's thigh as Soap feeds him mouthfuls by hand, his eyes round and black and half-hidden behind his translucent lids.

Summary
"Johnny," Simon whines, "what were you thinking about?"
Soap sighs, looking back out to the ocean again, still gently caressing Simon's hair and face. "I'm…so happy," he finally says, confessing it to the chilly breeze and Simon's warmth at his back. "So unbelievably happy, but the only reason I'm here is because of you. But there are other selkies. Just like me. Who dinnae have a savior."
Simon tenses, breathes out a heavy, hot breath against Soap's neck. "Daniel," he mutters.
"Ye remember his name?" Soap asks.
"'Course I do," Simon growls, more alert now. "I followed my nose, went to his house before coming to get you. Had to make sure you weren't there, first."
"So you know where he lives," Soap says.
Simon nods. "Him. And his stolen selkie wives."
