Out of all the schools of magic, illusion is by far the worst.
Almost any mage can see through it; mana detection is difficult to combat and unless the user spends years of their life to perfectly mimic the mana or lack thereof surrounding the images they conjure, they may as well just walk up to their opponent and tell them that everything is fake.
Any other form of magic would be more effective.
(Un)fortunately, Mahiru can't quite let go of it.
