Shinso was halfway through his story about Aizawa and Eri when the news came on and stole Izuku’s attention away within seconds.
Izuku would say that his life was not short on perfect, and yet all it took was his name to bring Izuku crashing down.
The man who held the no.2 spot and whose life was arguably even more on track than Izuku’s was currently on screen fighting a villain. It took a while until his friends realised his attention was no longer on them but on the screen infront of them. And when they saw who it was they all exchanged knowing glances towards one another.
You see there was one person on earth who could make Izuku, the no.1 hero, feel small.
And that person was no other than Bakugo Katsuki.
Bakugou Katsuki, the man Izuku hasn’t seen or heard from in past 5 years.

Izuku had never been popular, elementary, junior-high, high school, you name it. He never really got along with the other kids. Not that he was necessarily set up to be popular in school. From being introverted at a young age to growing up broke, not to mention looking as plain as possible, he never stood out. If so, it was for the wrong reasons, he learned. Being noticed in school meant teasing. And bullying. Relentless bullying. All through his late middle school days and early high school.
That's why he was so excited to finally spend his transfer year in America! Who wouldn't be excited? A fresh set of people that hadn't known him and who he was. His junior year was looking up, his life was looking up for the first time in a while. Till it wasn't.
That blond boy was going to be the end of him. For better or worse, he knew that much as soon as they made eye contact.

Izuku’s more than happy to join: he sure won’t miss out on the chance to meet up with Rody while he’s there. He hasn’t kept in touch with the guy… wonders how he’s been. Still thinks about him sometimes (a lot of times).
But why would he choose to take Izuku over Bakugou?
Why was the usually upbeat man of the class so… frustrated? And why was that making Izuku upset too?
