Mina Ha's second chance is bleeding out slow in an alley.
After everything, being turned into a vampire seemed like a fresh start. She didn't account for the backstabbing, the condescension, and the perpetual attempts to keep her in her place. Desperate to start the climb up the social ladder, she makes up a lie. It's a stroke of good fortune that she stumbles upon the one man who could make her fictions into reality.

She could have thrown herself into making fashion, with her parents as support. She could have compelled her parents to seek out a vampire for the purpose of giving her immortality.
In this life, she takes a radically different path. It leading to a collision course with a self-proclaimed cosmic being all the same is just proof the universe has a bad sense of humor.
