Red and Chloe are given their last laboratory assignment in chemistry for the semester with the class being split into groups according to their teacher's choosing. This is all fine. That is, until they are partnered with different people, and Chloe has to watch some other girl sit and hang out with her best friend in the world. As the girl starts pushing her way into Red and Chloe's time together, Chloe is left struggling with new feelings that she has never really experienced, and the one thing she knows for sure is that she definitely does not want this interloper, who seems to be forming a near instant connection to Red and seems to be a more perfect version of Chloe herself, near the girl that Chloe considers family.
