It’s something that scared each of those young bloods senseless; Kaeya Alberich had been a pinnacle of impressive, if not terrifying strength for the Knights for the better part of a decade. It was widely considered that he was practically Grand Master Jean’s right hand man, for all that he preferred staying in the comfort of Cavalry Captain role.
Kt had always been Khaenri’ahn custom to never speak of the child that parents wished to conceive, less they risked the children they could have never coming to be, spurned by the high wishes of parents they could never satisfy. Kaeya had never put much stock in such old wives’ tales and customs—though he had found himself quietly insisting on them not discussing it after their first few efforts had failed
“It’s said that the Seelie are the ones that lure the souls of our future children to us, and when you are expecting a child, you should always lead a Seelie home safely if you come across one. It show your gratitude, and means they may be willing to do it again for you in the future.” This was the part that made his mate’s cheeks heat, and filthy and muddy or not, he reached out to brush his fingers carefully against the swell of Kaeya’s stomach under the loose shirt the Omega was fond of wearing, for comfort’s sake alone.
