기이하리만치 똑똑한 까마귀는 판단을 마친 듯 고개를 한 번 주억거리고 듣기싫은 울음소리를 내며 날개를 퍼덕였다. 그러자 주변에 있던 수십마리의, 아니 수백마리의 까마귀 떼가 일제히 울음소리를 내며 한 곳으로 몰리기 시작했다. 그 수는 에밀이 몸을 말고 누워버리기 전 마지막으로 봤던 것보다 몇 배는 늘어나있었다. 까마귀들은 한 곳에 일제히 모여 마치 탑을 쌓듯 서로 몸을 기댔다. 한 놈이 다른 놈에게 기대고 다시 그 놈이 다른 놈에게 기대어 켜켜이….
까마귀들은 어느새 에밀에게서 조금 떨어진 곳에 남자 한 명 정도의 크기로 모였다. 그것들은 정말 하나가 된 듯이 액체처럼 두어번 꿀렁거리다 희미한 인영을 만들어냈다. 남자의 얼굴과 몸, 옷자락이 점차 새의 형상에서 벗어나 모양을 갖추었다. 곧 수백마리의 까마귀는 한 명의 남자로 변했다. 창백한 피부에 새까만 머리를 가진 남자는 흑백사진 속 피사체처럼 보였다.

*MAJOR SPOILERS FOR CANTO 9*
This story deals with the concept A Certain Sinclair brings up during his conversation with the Sinners and Hohenheim during 9-43. I am interpreting this as his Sign being a power that creates branching timelines which are then severed when that branch's Sinclair is called by his Sign, effectively creating a dead-end timeline, or a timeline which ceases to have ever existed.
I wanted to write a story from the perspective of a Sinclair who realizes he is in a dead-end branch and isn't okay with that. This branch starts during Operation Spider Pyre where the major difference is which teams the Sinners end up on for the Nursefather battles.

Limbus Company has signed a deal with the head of Aglaia for the 13 sinners of the LCB to become test subjects of Aglaia's research.
Both organizations are weary of one another. They're too suspicious. Aglaia is researching immortality by forcing test subjects into battle royale death games. Limbus Company's motives are entirely unknown to Aglaia's background researchers.
However, Aglaia needs more test subjects, and Limbus Company seems to wants something on Lumia Island.
At least, Dante, the manager of the Sinners believes there's something important on this god-forsaken island.
Whatever the case might be, the Sinners will now be playing in Aglaia's death games. Areas will restrict and reopen, allies will turn against one another and most importantly, further development of Vital Force (also known as VF) will be analyzed.
With absolute uncertainty, Limbus Company and Aglaia have decided to both sign the Limbus-Aglaia Experimentation Transfer Agreement. Only time will tell which organization suffers most from the Transfer Agreement.

However, Sinclair was not prepared to get thrown to another world, and join Astral Express as the Trailblazer.
Maybe this was the better outcome than his supposed-to-be death at Kromer's hands.
(Basically, Sinclair got thrown into HSR world, became the Trailblazer, and his life went better since then)
