To them, she seemed to exist in the Uncanny Valley, something about her just subtly "off" in an unidentifiable way. She wanted nothing more than to have the opportunity to travel and befriend pokemon like anyone else, but it was never safe to do so. This was not a problem shared by Taylor, her identical twin. Octavia was sure that if she could just figure out what the difference between them was, then she could fix it and finally follow her dreams.
Unfortunately for both of them, she did. The difference was that Octavia wasn't human. She never had been.
Octavia Vale was an Imposter. A Ditto that had transformed into a perfect copy of Taylor as an infant and never changed back. A Ditto who could mimic the human form and had learned human speech to a degree almost unheard of for its species. A Ditto that no shortage of criminal enterprises would pay any price to capture and exploit.
Taylor Vale never wanted to be a trainer, but to protect her inhuman sister, she was willing to try anything. Even if it meant capturing and training Octavia herself.

As Humanity and Pokémon coexist in this fusion of settings, the story will explore themes of war, oppressive cults, and Shadow infusion, in a world where Pokémon healing and battles echo the anime in realistic, but not overtly graphic ways. Pokémon do not rip each other apart in Battles, though it can sometimes happen in the wild.
This is a very long journey fic that's kind of a Crossover with everything. But with Pokémon. So you might see characters like Shaggy Rogers, or Izuku Midoriya, but with Pokémon teams. Pokémon legends like Red, Gary Oak, and the reigning World Champion, Ash Ketchum, are also, naturally, present in the setting. Think of this slice of the Pokéverse as one where it's all coming together.
