Summary
It's the first Solstice Eve since meeting Xena and Gabrielle (who will arrive on the actual day, they're not here yet) and the Telaquire Amazons are celebrating in style. Everyone's dressed up in their best festive clothes, there are pomegranates, candied nuts and gaudy decorations galore in every corner of the village, cute little kids are officially becoming tweenagers before their mothers' glistening eyes, and the heroic young Princess Velasca is out partying with her friends in there somewhere. Furthermore, in an effort to cement the tribe's unprecedented peace with all it's neighbours, Queen Melosa has invited a group of foreign priestesses to help foster diplomatic ties through an exchange of cultures that everyone's excited to hear, or at the very least curious. Everything is going well, and everyone in the village is happy.
...It's also the first Solstice Eve without Melosa's younger sister, Terreis.
But Melosa is the Queen, and the whole tribe needs on her.
So she's fine.
