Jupiter nearly capsized his own boat with how quickly he scrambled backwards, dropping the fishing pole in the bottom and gripping tight at the side of the boat, restraining with all of his strength the surprised shout that wanted to leave him. “Stars,” he breathed out.
What in the—?
“Did I surprise you?” The man on the side of the boat leaned in closer, vivid blue curls that matched his eyes tumbling over his shoulders and piling on the lip of the boat, one single curl catching against his top lip as he pouted, tipping his head to the side. “I didn’t mean to!”

Summary
Everyone loves to say that all the crazy stuff started when Neptune asked “Why does Saturn have rings?” Although it’s fair to believe that, I don’t think we can really blame Neptune. He wasn’t trying to cause anything, was just curious. There was nothing malicious, but there was someone who did… Earth. When he met Titan, he got self-conscious, and said “Moons should know their place”, which would lead to Titan and co starting the moon revolution, moon club, system trials, Planet X, Theia, ect. But what if… he never said that? Would the tensions already around the moons still cause a revolution? Would Planet X ever return to the solar system? Would Earth face the memories of Proto and Theia? If so, how would they change? Here is my take.

A lot can be said about a person just from looking at the way they act right now. Those who lived a happy life would be easy going because they learned to trust. Those, filled with hate would be someone with a bad experience.
A lot can be said about a person's life by the way they act.
So why... Can't we see through Neptune in any way?
...trust is a big word. Especially when all your life you put on a smile on your face and kept shut about the problems, self-destructive thoughts and feelings.
Maybe you deserve to learn it too.

"And what is your name?"
...Oh, right.
"Well... I have many names!" Sun said with pride, his glow brightening up again. "Just like how your name means Zeus, my name is Helios Ra Apollo Inti-"
Jupiter blinked.
And made a face.
The Sun paused. And chuckled. "...But I guess thats a bit of a mouthful for someone as small as you, huh?"
It had never felt right to call himself by those names anyway, considering how the little star couldn't even burn as bright as the other stars.
But then again... those others lost their minds. And Sun gained a planet.
After a bit of thinking... Sun sighed. And he lifted his precious planet back up to introduce himself again, his tone soft and eyes cloudy.
Jupiter smiled back.
Lighting up his surroundings more than any star ever could have done.
"...But you may call me... Sol."

"You and your stupid asteroid belt, Jupiter I swear to Sol-" Saturn was angrily muttering under his breath, not even a trace of the playful banter from earlier to be found. "You just had to drag them in here-"
"I didn't see you coming with any better ideas!"
"They were driving me insane!" The smaller defended himself, eyes twitching. Next, his expression turned mournful. "Were we this difficult for Sol? Stars, we owe him so many apologies."
Little shattered bits and pieces of rocks and other metals drifted by their faces. Jupiter came to an abrupt halt.
Both of the toddlers were crying. Uranus loudly, gasping for breath, while Neptune was quiet, and curled up. Bits and pieces of asteroids dug into Uranus' wing. Neptune was covering his ears.

“I could have meant you! Or Jupi!” Saturn sighed, drawing it out. “But yes. Uranus was the pretty thing I spied.” He pressed one hand against his cheek, rings flashing gold in the sunlight creeping in through the windshield. “You really are so pretty, darling. Do I tell you that enough?”

His eyes stood out in the dark, a harsh, cold blue staring into the distance, gaze fixed on a certain Jupiter. He smirked, satisfaction uncurling in his gut, as Jupiter looked left and right with nothing but fear in his eyes and dark shadows beneath them, the lack of sleep and excess of nightmares being why. Erebus being the reason why. And void, it was just so rewarding to finally get the sweet, sweet and absolutely deserved revenge you’ve been chasing for millennia. He crossed his arms as he fell into a reverie of how wicked he could turn Jupiter’s nightmares into, how much hurt he could give Jupiter and how much weight he could drop onto Jupiter’s shoulders. But why only think of it all when you could make it a reality?

Erebus has the powers of darkness, not only physical darkness but mental darkness too in the form of nightmares. He loves hurting Jupiter in all the right ways through it.
