After a seemingly simple mission, Keith doesn't return. The Blade of Marmora falls silent, and in time, so does the world. His name and his legacy fade into memory. But there is one man who cannot do it, a man who keeps waiting, because if Keith ever returns and asks where to find him, he will know exactly where to look.

But in truth, Keith was never that strong. Power came from within, and inside Keith was nothing but a cowardly creature that only knew how to bluff and run. When the black lion had chosen Keith, he knows to others that it’d seemed like the most logical choice, but the truth is that nothing was more terrifying to him than when the lights inside the cockpit lit up. Lance, who Keith is helplessly forced to watch as a bright and powerful blast rips him and Red apart. Lance, who's so willing to sacrifice himself for him. It marks their defeat, and before Keith takes his last breath, he wishes he could just go back.

During the last battle against Honerva, things take a turn for the worse and Keith and the rest of Voltron end up dying. Keith wakes to in the past, very early on in his journey in space, even before their first encounter with Zarkon, and Keith thinks maybe he can change things.

"You... don't you remember me?" he asked, finding it simply inconceivable.
And Lance, in other circumstances, would have been amused by that reaction, but there was a little girl he had to bring back to her mother; he hadn't slept for almost twenty-seven hours and needed a break.
"No, dude, now if you want to excuse me..."
The boy turned Lance to him, their faces a short distance away, purple eyes fixed on his, and Lance's treacherous heart skipped a beat.
"Blue Spirit, I'm Red Warrior. Do you really not remember me?"
At that point, Lance began to break out in a cold sweat. Of course, he couldn't remember him. Lance wasn't the real one.
(In which, due to a stupid stunt, the seventeen-year-old Lance dies and finds himself in the body of a villain of his best friend's favourite graphic novel, trying not to attract too much attention. Too bad for Lance, Keith doesn't make things easy for him at all.)

A take on S2 x EP10, where Keith was raised by the BoM (Blade of Marmora) but was kidnapped at a young age and has been forced to serve the empire since, with little to no memory of the BoM and his pack..but there are a couple things.. the warmth of his mother's embrace, he was told she was a traitor to the empire...the love of his pack, all traitors to the empire... That's what he'd been told, but he wasn't sure he believed it.

Eating isn't the only problems Voltron faces though, with Hagar still out in the galaxy causing issues, no one can go home until she is safely locked away. The team is on a mission to stop Hagar but stopping her is harder than it seems as they come face to face with their own clones. Figuring out who the enemy is becomes much harder, when the enemy wears your face, or the face of a loved one.

“W-what?” Keith stumbled. ”What did you just say?”
