As the world of Mario & Luigi lives on, so too did Fawful. Two years after the events of Bowser's Inside Story he returns to the Mushroom Kingdom...you would think he has grand plans of revenge, to get back at that Bowser and the Mario Bros. But meeting Minty changed his life. Minty is a kind artist who aspires for adventure; to see what's beyond the Mushroom Kingdom. Despite how different the two seem at first glance, maybe Minty and Fawful are meant for each other.
Truly, they could be a case of stars aligning as they soar across the sea.

Summary
The Shroob Invasion in the Mushroom Kingdom of the Past didn't fare well for the Shroobs; the Shroob Princesses died and the Shroobs were considered extinct. But, not every Shroob left their dying planet. Regent Shroob, third in line after the Princesses, starts the Second Shroob Invasion.
RuV33n had just met Fawful, an Earthling runaway who knows the Shroob language (after eating a worm). Now, the two try to survive in the Mushroom Kingdom while meeting Midbus and other faces along the way. Meanwhile, Captain Goomba and his squad are on the lookout for RuV33n and Fawful convinced that they will only cause disaster. The Koopa Kingdom is also fighting the Second Shroob Invasion.
When the Regent puts the people RuV33n grows close to in danger, RuV33n questions if there's more to being a Shroob than what they've been told their entire life.
