After the canary soul's fifth failed kick in the first round, Minos finally realized that he just wasn't trying. Purposely failing. He, at first, felt embarrassed for him. It was until now he fully processed the reason why he did this, with the way his thighs clenched together underneath his loincloth and his chest rose and fell with not exhaustion, but anticipation. The way his crooked smile bared his blood stained teeth, licking every drop of it off his canines like a vampire. The sight sent a shivering spark through Minos, hot and familiar in his gut.

But he finds himself torn with the discovery of two abandoned machines, unwilling to leave them to rust away in the submerged building, feeling sympathetic due to his own displacement.His decision to return with them leads to unexpected consequences, however, as the blue machine wanders off towards Heaven, a flourishing reef city that sits upon floating rocks, unaffected by the bile.
There, it catches the attention of the city guardian, Gabriel, who now suffers from his own confliction as he learns about the ill condition of the merfolk within Hell.Within these high waters, unlikely bonds are formed as Gabriel and Ferryman both find themselves endeared to the machines, feelings that slowly begin to grow into something more.
