- Już nie pieczętują kolejnych osób… Wiesz, byłem niedawno w gorących źródłach z moim klanem. Nie miałem ochraniacza na czole i jakiś mały chłopiec gapił się na mnie uporczywie – Neji ponownie się uśmiechnął. – A potem powiedział: „Tato, co ten pan ma na czole?”. Ojciec się zmieszał i kazał mu być cicho. To miłe, że oni już tego nie rozumieją, że to dla nich jedynie obrzydliwa historia, o której może będą się uczyć, ale… Nie czuję dumy, że przyczyniłem się do tego moimi bezsensownym gadaniem. Czuję frustrację, bo ja chciałbym być jak ten dzieciak…
Lee przez całe dzieciństwo czuł się słaby i niewystarczający, aż pojawił się Guy i odmienił jego życie. Neji przez lata był dla niego zarówno rywalem, jak i kimś, kogo podziwiał bardziej, niż chciałby przyznać. Dopiero wojna i szczera rozmowa przy ognisku sprawiają, że obaj konfrontują się z własnym bólem, winą i tym, czego nigdy nie powiedzieli na głos.

His face dropped into a frown, and he covered his mouth with his right hand to contain his surprise. His instinct was to go up and ask Sakura what was wrong, but he was nervous. He was scared that he would overwhelm her with his presence or immediately shake him off.
