Peter Parker has gone through everything that is possible, going from being bit by a radioactive spider to becoming a superhero, dying at the hands of Thanos, coming back to life and losing his mentor. He genuinely thought nothing could actually get him now, well life has a weird way of showing it's gratitude to him.
that is how he ended up randomly found himself falling, where? he didn't know but he was falling and the least he could expect was falling right into the Batcave where another set of vigilantes are and now he was also a seven year old kid!!!
