Summary
Working as the head of the Human Affairs departments on their respective sides, Lilith and Melekasia have developed a bit of an attachment to Gods little creations. When Armageddon decided to not happen they sighed a breath of relief.
These two have also been keeping a certain idiotic pair of celestial beings' actions under the radar.
In other words, Aziraphale and Crowley aren't the only ones who ended up being best friends. These two are just more honest and open about their feelings.

Wingless, trapped in Hell and left to scrub its floors forever was not exactly the way Michael had thought things would end up. Apparently, Lucifer needed a few thousand years to cool off. That left him plenty of time to think...
Then Lucifer did the one thing that Michael had never thought he would do: He returned to Hell.... as its Healer.
Lucifer, the Devil, Healer of Lost souls? Ridiculous.
Even more ridiculous was his firmly stated purpose of Healing THEIR souls and reconciling their relationship. Restoring a brotherly bond that Michael had thought shattered past any hope of repair. But Lucifer was determined and Michael....didn't have anything left to lose. But a relationship sundered and poisoned by eons of pain and betrayal would not be an easy one to repair, and it would take some intensive therapy, and an almost sentient Hell-Loop, to make any kind of progress happen.

Cas's love for Dean ends up getting him out of The Empty much to The Shadow's chagrin. Unfortunately, he's now stuck in the interdimensional fabric of the cosmos where even Jack can't see him. With Cas MIA for a year, Dean's had time to hit rock bottom and climb up out of it again.
When Dean's soul plays beacon to Cas, leading him back home, it will take some doing to get them good and reunited.
There's also the matter of the love nuke Cas accidentally set off in The Empty. But that's Jack's problem.
