Wangxianficrecs post here. (Archived.)Oh, this was a lovely story loaded with so many feels. I mis-read the word count, and thought it was going to be about 2500 words and kept thinking, omg, Author is packing SO MUCH INTO THIS which is true even for 12k ;)
In which a primarily nonverbal lwj shows up, clearly distraught and overwhelmed, in wwx's normal subway station, and wwx sweeps him home. Lwj stubbornly won't say what's going on, and wwx has to guess, and be patient, and fall back into the habit of reading his body language and microexpressions, the way he used to 6 years ago before their friendship drifted apart.
When lwj does finally speak, it's to use wwx's words back at him, and it's so touching.
