Chapter Text
Izuku woke up warm and comforted. He was confused for a moment, then looked down to what he thought was trying to suffocate him. However all he got was red and white hair in his vision. Then it all came back to him. Todoroki-no, Shouto, came over for a sleep over after Shigaraki attacked them both. He ended up comforting a scared Shouto, and they went to sleep. He then started to process the situation he was in.
Shouto Todoroki, a leg in between his own, hands on both sides of him, and his head on his chest, sleeping soundly, and by the looks of it, drooling slightly. ]WELL THIS ISN'T PORVACITIVE AT ALL HUH?! GOOD THING YOU'RE A BLOODY MORON WHEN IT COMES TO LOVE IZUKU YOU APOSOLUTE TWAT. I LOVE YOU DEAR.]This probably happened because Izuku fell onto his back and Shouto was still cuddling him. Not too sure on how he got his head on his chest though. Either way he looked really cute like this, his face relaxed and peaceful. He couldn’t help but smile at the sight.
He looked to the clock and noticed how early it was. 6 am! He didn’t need to leave until 8:30, so he usually got up at 8. He woke up two hours early, which is rare because he loved sleep-ins. He looked down to the dual-haired boy still asleep on his check, smiles and gently placed a hand on his back and rested it there. It was 6am, and he was going back to sleep for the next two hours.
...
...
...
Nope not happening. No matter how comfortable he tried to get, his brain wouldn’t go back to sleep. Oh well, he could just go through his quirk. Although by the looks of it, his quirk was being weird.
[Update notice to The Gaming Hero: Player One]
[Hello player, there has been some disturbances. There is currently an attempt to reconfigure the quirk: The gamer. This shouldn’t impact you for now, but do understand that updates will occur and you might find some things different or changed. Luckily the major changes has already happened, so unless you ‘unlock’ new potential with your quirk like you have done with Grand Torino aka ‘Jumpy-Granpa’ then most of the updates will be minor bug fixes, updates to the settings, etc. Unfortunately for you, you might find some of your abilities are downgraded, or cost more SP/MP, or even find yourself having more limits than normal, in an attempt to make your quirk as balanced as possible.]
He read this notice once. Then twice. Then a third time, just barely able to understand the amount of work vomit that was in his face at 6:25 in the morning. There was a next button at the bottom right of the notice and wondered why there was more than one freaking page to this. Sighing and accepting his fate, he tapped the next button.
[Another notice, due to the fact that your quirk was erased twice now, with you being unable to do anything about it, not to mention also fighting after your quirk was erased without allowing yourself to rest and reset, there is currently an attempt to hopefully cause you less pain, prevent a shut-down sequence, and allow you to continue on using your quirk afterwards. However this will most likely be a much larger update that may happen when you’re at a higher level. Current predictions are that you end up at level 40-45 when the update takes place.
There is, however, an unfortunate idea that may happen to you, player. A possible solution to everything is to delete all data and try again. This will, however, means that you will start at level 1. However, this will allow the quirk to be fully updated, and give you the best experience possible. The decision to go through with this is still undetermined, but there is a safe possibility that it will act as a last resort.]
Wait... what? Izuku had to read and re-read this again, just for the majority of it to make sense. It also worried him that there is another ‘next’ button.
He tried to get his thoughts in order.
So currently, his quirk is trying to sort out bugs, and make him less over powered? Alright, makes sense. It also wants to prevent him from getting hurt when his quirk gets erased, but that might be a major update later on. Understandable, Aizawa-sensei’s quirk is annoyed to deal with when it’s activated. Thing is, if someone else had a similar quirk, and were against him, he’d be fucked, so this is actually a good Idea. The last one was worrying, but he wondered if his experience will carry over. If so, then the last resort isn’t as bad as it sounds, however if it doesn’t, he’ll just have to train constantly, and find missions as much as he could.
He rubbed his face, conscious of the still sleeping boy on his chest, and tapped next only to be really confused.
[The final notice for The Gaming Hero: Player One is: You now you have an assistant! They do not have a gender, a profile, nor a name. However you are able to choose and edit your assistant to your liking. They currently only respond via text unless you choose a voice for them. They will assist you in the ways an assistant would, such as remembering important dates, reminding you to eat/drink/exercise, tell you if there is a mission nearby, etc. You can give them orders to do, or not to do anything. They can also answer any questions you may have to the best of their knowledge, and also notify you when an update is happening or waiting to happen. Not only that, they can help you when you need it in a social situation as they can see what you see, and can provide advice.
There are a few bugs still, as this is still new, so to combat this very ‘OP’ assistant, is that they also have levels. This is, obviously, different to your own levels as she levels up from completing milestones, rather than gaining experience. They will gain continuous updates and changes to help avoid them from being ‘OP’, similar to you.
Thank you for being patient and reading these notices, player, you can go back to them as many times as you need. We understand that this might be a lot to take in.]
Okay, hold up a second, what the shit? Alright, so Izuku now has an assistant? Like one of the old classic avenger movies, Iron Man’s, or Tony Stark’s, Jarvis? That kind of assistant?
He looked at the time, 7:30 already? Christ. Okay, time to get this show on the road. He tapped off of the notice to head to the menu, and, like the notice said, there was his ‘assistant’ in text.
“Hello Izuku Midoriya, before you do anything, please give me a name, what to call you.”
Okay, not creepy at all. Thinking of a name, and going with ‘Phoenix’, for no real reason as it was just a nice sounding name. Besides, he couldn’t be assed to think of gender/voice/looks for ‘Phoenix’ right now, just wanting to make sure nothing is out of the ordinary. He asked to be called ‘Izuku’ as it was his name and just less creepy for now.
“Do not worry, Izuku, there is nothing to note that has changed from yesterday. There have been updates, yes, but the limits to yourself and your abilities have yet to be implemented. I would suggest getting both you and your friend up. Shouto Todoroki is actually someone who takes a while to wake up and get ready for the day.”
That... was sound advice. Alright. He looked down at Shouto, and tapped the boy gently on his head.
“Shouto... time to get up.” He said, gaining a grumble and the boy in question just nuzzling further into his chest.[SMOOCH HIM ALREADYYYYYY FAAAKKK WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF???] “Shouto I’m serious. We need to get up. I’ll tickle you.” He threatened, and he got a mumble that sounded like ‘no tickling’ or something. Sighing, and using his 27 strength, and lifting Shouto up, he carried the surprised and shocked[SHOULD HAVE ADDED TIRED FUUUUCK] teen into the living room where his mum was drinking some tea.
“Oh, Izuku! Good morning sweetheart-why are you carrying Shouto-kun?” his mother asked and Izuku smiled sheepishly.
“Quirk updated, got an assistant, who gave me advice to get him up now, rather than later. He... Doesn’t like getting up I think.”[GEE YA THINK?] He said looking down at the teen in his arms, who was sort of unsure how to move. It was like trying to hold a large cat bridal-style.[LEJIT HAD TO TAKE A BREAK FROM LAUGHING I WANT SOMEONE TO DRAW THIS XDDDD]
“Well, but him down and I’ll make a cup of tea. Always wakes me up. I’ll make breakfast while I’m at it, and then you can explain your new update. An assistant? What next?” his mother huffed as she walked to the kitchen to do just that. He put Shouto down on the chair, and the boy just sort of looked into nothing.
“Perhaps you should shock him awake?”[WONDER IF I SHOULD JUST TURN HIM INTO KAMINARI BUT GAY? HE'D DO SOMETHING... MAYBE... NAH PROBS NOT.]
‘How do I do that?’
“Kiss him on the cheek perhaps?” [FUCKING DO IT YOU USELESS BRAT. DW I DO LOVE YOU IZU<3]
Kind of shocked that Phoenix would suggest it, but not having any options himself, he resigned his face and leaned close to shouto, and pecked his cheek.
“Come on, Shouto... You can’t be brain dead all morning.” He said, his face burning lightly. However is did seem to startle Shouto awake, although he just seemed to shut down as his face went bright red and gaining the status of [Embarrassed]. His mother came in with two cups of tea and looked at the boys.
“Alright what happened. You look as though someone was caught doing something.” He said and neither boy said anything. With a sigh, the mother shook her head, and Izuku could just about hear ‘teenagers and their repressed feelings’. The hell did his mother mean by that?
“She means that you and Shouto both have repressed feelings for each other. His is because of family issues. Yours is because of your adverse to relationships due to how complicated your quirk makes it. However you’re still human, thus[YOU LOVE EACHOTHER JUST FUCKING KISS ALREADY YOU TWO AAAGHH]
