Strings of code

Summary:

Tommy didn't realize his code was being locked by a demented Dream until he ventured into MCC, his team the Pink Parrots, which consisted of three avians with unique powers.

With the Admin's of the MCC server hellbent on punishing Dream for locking Tommy's Moobloom code it's up to Grian, Xisuma, and Mumbo to keep the kid protected during the championship.

There's one problem, Dream is hellbent on killing the thorn in his side, his motives sparked by pure blind insanity.

Well, the other Admins can't have that, and neither can the Watchers.

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

In all honesty, he hated being the only human. He would watch people take to the sky, soaring up into the clouds or some run around at inhuman speeds being nothing but a splash of color shooting by.

He really hated it Tommy thought as he sat alone on the bench, mellhoi faintly playing in the background as he crossed his legs and twirled his thumbs in boredom. A thump made him look up at the green hoodie and white ceramic mask that fell from the tree next to him.

“Hey Dream.”

“Hello Tommy!” Dream’s tail flicked, and Tommy knew the man was annoyed at something so he reached over, plucking mellhoi from the jukebox and quickly pulled out his ender chest, stuffing the disc inside and waited.

“MCC is coming up.” Tommy internally rolled his eyes.

“I know bitch I can’t participate, remember.” Tommy said, growling as Dream laughed and clapped him on the back.

“Yep maybe next month!” With that he watched as Dream walked away, ears flicking in different directions at sounds Tommy couldn’t hear.

“That fucking bitch.” Sulking in anger he dragged himself back to his house and collapsed onto his bed, hoping for the team roster that would never arrive.

Meanwhile…

Dream snarled as he slid down a tree, landing on the ground hard “I can’t keep his code locked up forever!” With one hand he clutched his hoodie tightly and the other he opened up his admin perms.

The clearing he was sitting in disappeared as code sucked him in. Green and purple numbers passed him as he floated through strings of code, finally finding the right bundle.

It was a green string of code, small but if released would do permanent damage to his look and the reputation of his server. Dream couldn’t have that.

With a grunt he twisted his hands that glowed a faint red and watched as red strings of code twisted around the small string that shuddered and glowed a faint yellow. It was still fighting and Dream hated that.

Once the barriers locked into place he fell backward with a sigh onto green grass. He was back in the clearing.

A rustling startled him and he shot up in panic at the clearing that was now filled with golden mushrooms.

“Fuck…” His hand glowed green and the mushrooms disappeared in a poof of smoke. Now Dream was tired and exhausted so he fell asleep against the tree, gleefully waiting for tomorrow.

Tommy woke with a snort and quickly leaped out of bed with a grin as he dashed around looking for the roster. His eyes landed on a slip of paper underneath his door and he whooped.

Tommy scanned the slip of paper with a growing grin that quickly faded.

“Wait… how can I compete? This must be a mistake?!” He had no hybrid traits; he was completely, utterly human!

He tossed the paper to the side and walked out of his house with sagging shoulders.

“I knew it was a mistake.” Tommy grumbled, knowing that later in the day he wouldn’t be called to the arena and instead filed as a mistake in the roster.

The paper drifted sadly across the floor and flipped over as a small gust of wind entered the house.

The faint image of a pink parrot sat in the top corner of the picture with four people at the bottom. Gold reflected their names as the light bounced off and the words formed onto the ceiling.

“Welcome pink parrots to the 12 MCC!”

“We are happy to announce your team Tommyinnit! You are paired with Xisuma, Grian, and Mumbo!”

“We hope you have a happy time competing, can’t wait to see you soon!”

“-Scott Major.”
