Work Text:
Time moved on and so did we. The guilt from Mari’s death that held us back finally disappeared with the help of therapy and socialization. Now it was just me, Sunny, Hero, Aubrey, and Kel! Even though I still miss Mari very much, her death doesn’t haunt me as much as it did before, and I’m really happy about that.
Sunny has also been starting to talk a little more with us, and that as well, makes me feel a lot more happier. I’m glad he’s been opening up to us more often because it let’s me know he’s becoming more comfortable.
Oh yes, and the old photo album! I’m restarting it. I’m beginning to create new memories with my friends as I believe it’ll help me with everything that happened in the past. It’ll help me move forward. The first time I wanted to do it I asked Hero if it would be a good idea, he said yes. I also asked Sunny about it and he simply nodded. Both of their responses made my eyes gleam for the first time in ages, mainly Sunny’s. So here I am, taking new photos with every fun moment we have to cherish.
It was in the middle of the night, perhaps around 11 or 12am? We were having a sleepover and Sunny and I decided to sneak out of the house. Kel was asleep as so were the others, thus we both agreed it would be a perfect time to be kids together once more.
We shut the door quietly and were too impatient to put on our shoes, so we just went outside barefooted. Surprisingly, it felt very calming. I felt like I was free and the small worries I had were casted aside. I looked back at Sunny whose hand was intertwined with mine, he was gazing at the star-lit sky with a funny look on his face. Maybe he was surprised to see this many stars at night, or perhaps he was just admiring how it looked. Either way I’ll never exactly know how he felt, but it did make me smile.
We found our usual spot for stargazing and plopped onto the grassy floor. The tops of our heads touched and our hands were still connected. I began to notice all the cool things you could create by connecting the flaming balls of light, though there was one thing in particular that caught my eye.
“Sunny look! Those stars, if you connect them you’ll see a garden full of tulips!” I said cheerfully, pointing to the stars I was talking about. Sunny glanced over to all the stars I pointed towards and nodded as if it were to say that he noticed the garden of tulips too.
I slightfully grinned, “You know Sunny, I wish we could do this everyday. Just me and you, staring at all the stars that complimented the moon. I want to do this more often with you.”
Sunny looked over to me with a sort of spark in his eyes. Once more, he nodded in agreement. I chuckled softly and we both closed our eyes, feeling the soft breeze that swayed our hair to which we fell asleep to.
