Work Text:

Brian knew Roger liked him, and honestly- he liked Roger too. But truth be told, he really liked the way Roger turned into a bit of a mess around him. Roger, who was the suave one, the one who attracted people wherever he went.

He’d just stepped out of the shower, a towel wrapped around his hips when he ran smack into Roger. Brian grabbed Roger by his shoulders to steady him and smiled, “Careful, Rog. Wouldn’t want you to fall.”

And Roger blinked at him for a minute before turning a delicate shade of pink that Brian always found endearing. “Yeah,” he managed to rush out before hurrying down the hallway and closing the door behind him.

Next time, they had a little moment was when Roger was a little tipsy and had draped himself over John. Brian sniggered at the obvious discomfort on John’s face because he wanted to head off to follow Ronnie who had left him with a very suggestive look.

“C'mere Rog,” Brian said and lifted Roger’s legs so he was now lying with his legs across the sofa and his head in Brian’s lap.

Roger flushed when he realized Brian was stroking his hair, “Feels nice,” he mumbled shyly and Brian couldn’t help but feel a rush of love for his best friend. Maybe he’d put Roger out of his misery soon.

But for now, he rather liked having the power to fluster the unflappable Roger Taylor.

Brian smiled into his pillow when he felt Freddie curl up behind him. The smile lasted all of two seconds because Freddie had put his cold feet on his very warm legs.

“Sorry, darling,” Freddie whispered, “It is rather cold.” And he sounded so apologetic that Brian turned around and cradled his face in his hands.

“You’re freezing, love,” he murmured.

“Warm me up then,” Freddie smiled and closed the gap between their lips.

Brian sighed happily into the kiss and gently stroked Freddie’s cheekbone with a calloused finger. Freddie shivered at the gentle touch that always held a promise for more to come.

Freddie smiled at Jim who was cooing to their baby daughter. He’d never thought that he wanted children but when it came to Jim, he knew he could weather any stormy waters.

Jim turned to smile at Freddie, “Come on, she won’t bite.”

And as if to prove her father’s point, Rosalie gnawed at her rattle with her very toothless mouth. And Freddie’s heart melted at the sight.

He tentatively approached Rosalie and lifted her from the walls of pillows around her. His experience with holding babies only extended to his bandmates’ children and his godchildren, so, he was a bit apprehensive.

But the love he felt for this little bundle of joy was unparalleled and he couldn’t resist leaning down to kiss her forehead. She babbled happily and laughed out loud when his moustache tickled her skin.

Jim wrapped his arms around Freddie’s waist, putting his chin on his shoulder as they both watched Rosalie.

Roger smiled happily when he caught sight of the familiar mop of fluffy, newly permed hair bopping away among the crowd of people on the dance floor. It was very easy to spot John nowadays.

He squeezed past couples dancing and reached his best friend. John turned around mid-shimmy and beamed brighter than the disco ball in the middle of the club when he caught sight of Roger.

“Rog!” He said happily, clearly he was a bit tipsy and he grabbed Roger’s hips and pulled him close, “Dance with me.”

Roger gulped and let John guide him in a slow dance- never mind that the music was fast paced. The rhythm section always danced to their own beat.

Just as the song ended, an actual slow dance started up and Roger’s eyes snapped to John’s who shrugged and pulled Roger closer to him, his hands leaving their spot on his hips and moving up and looping around his neck.

Roger dropped his hands to John’s waist and continued to sway to the music.

They seemed to be moving closer, he could see the light sweat on John’s temple and the rosy pink flush on his cheeks from dancing.

Roger began to lean in unconsciously and to his surprise, John closed the gap and kissed him deeply.

Roger sighed as he waited for Lola to return from the convenience store they’d stopped at on the way to the hotel. He really wanted to go and have a lie down after the long show he’d played.

He perked up when the last bars of a Taylor Swift track faded out, only to be replaced with the tunes of an album he recognized began to play, The Electric Lady by Janelle Monae. He and Sarina had spent a nice time painting together with her music serving as the mood music.

Lola smiled when she saw her dad nodding along to the playlist she’d put on. It was on purpose, because she knew he liked Janelle Monae and that it would take her some time to find the things she needed and he tended to get a bit antsy in cars on his own with no distractions, and he sure as hell wasn’t going to open Instagram to re-share fan posts like Uncle Brian did.

Jim groaned and buried his face into the pillow because Freddie and Roger were both extremely fidgety at night and if he was on holiday he was going to make sure he got some sleep.

So, in a flash he swooped both his boyfriends into his arms and pulled them close to his chest- suddenly glad he’d slept in the middle.

They stopped moving almost instantly and relaxed under his hold and nuzzled into his chest.

“Good,” he said to no one in particular and began to feel his eyes drooping.

Freddie kissed his cheek, “I love you.”

And Roger, not to be outdone, kissed his other cheek, “And I love you.”

They were met with a snore and chuckled fondly.

“Love you, Rog.”

“Love you too, Fred.”

Freddie beamed at John who unpacked all the snacks and leaned over to kiss him, “You’re always so prepared, darling,” he said softly, “We’d all be messes without you.’

John smiled and shook his head, "Oh, you’ll be fine without me.”

And within minutes he was tackled down onto the picnic blanket by his three boyfriends who were peppering his face with kisses and telling him how much they needed him. John laughed happily and let them have their fun before pushing them off and sitting up breathlessly.

Roger kissed his temple from where he’d taken up residence in John’s lap, “We love you very much.”

Brian nodded in agreement and reached out to brush off some grass from John’s hair and kissed his lips softly, “We love you loads.”
