Never Stop

Summary:

Amy reassures Gabe that a new baby in the house doesn't change how she feels about him

Work Text:

Amy sighed as she looked down at her pregnant belly. She was excited to meet her new baby in a month, but there were other things keeping from her being happy at the moment.

Her third child was who she was thinking about. Gabe was not happy about the new baby on the way, and Amy knew why.

She knew about Gabe's worries about being replaced, about not having any attention given to him after the baby was born. Amy had tried to reassure him that wasn't true, but he didn't seem to believe her.

It did make her feel sad that he felt this way. He was a troublemaker but she still loved him as much as she loved her other kids.

She started to rub her belly. A month from now she would be giving birth, and Amy felt like she needed to talk to Gabe sooner rather than later.

But what could she say? He didn't believe her when she tried to reassure him the past few months.

She needed to prove she would still love him the same, and that he wasn't being replaced.

But how?

As Amy thought about what to do, Bob came into the living room.

"Hey, honey, I have to go."

"Go?" Amy looked up at him. "Where?"

"We just got an emergency call for a house with termites." He took a seat on the couch next to her, kissing her on the lips.

"I'll be back later," Bob said.

"Okay," Amy smiled.

As Bob stood, an idea came to Amy's head.

"Bob?"

"Yes," Bob replied, looking down at her.

"Can you order pizza?"

Amy slowly got off the couch as she heard a knock at the door. She waddled over to the door and opened it, seeing the pizza delivery man on the other side.

"Thank you," she said as she took the boxes of pizza from him. She handed him the money before shutting the door.

She moved to back to the couch and sat down the pizzas on the table in front of it.

Smiling, she waddled across the room and down the stairs to the basement.

Gabe was sitting on the couch playing video games.

"Gabe," she says, getting his attention. "There is pizza upstairs if you want some."

"Did you cook it?"

Amy barely resists the urge to roll her eyes. Nobody in the family liked her cooking. "No, it was ordered."

That was enough for Gabe. He stood up from the couch and turned off his video game.

Amy smiled and began making her way back up the stairs, Gabe following behind her.

When they go to the living room, Amy picked up one of the pizza boxes and sat it in the middle of the couch. She took a seat on the right side and Gabe took a seat on the left.

Amy opened the box and took a slice of pizza out and Gabe followed. They started to eat the pizza, both enjoying the warm taste of it.

They ate in silence, both getting to slice number three before Amy finally spoke.

"I know how you feel." Her voice was gentle and comforting. "I know that you are worried about being replaced when the new baby gets here."

Gabe looked down and Amy placed a hand on his back. "But you have nothing to be worried about."

"How do you know that," Gabe asks.

"I just do," Amy said. "Having a new baby in the house won't change how I feel about you. It won't change how much I love you, Gabe."

Gabe looked back up at her and Amy could see tears in his eyes.

"But I've heard things."

"What have you heard," Amy asks.

"I've heard that when parents have a new baby, they no longer focus on their other children. They forget about them and stop loving them."

A tear fell from his eye and Amy felt her heartbreak. She moved the pizza box to the floor and pulled him closer to her.

She wiped the tear from his face. "Gabe, you don't have to worry about that. We won't do that to you."

"You won't," he questioned, looking up at her.

Amy shook her head. "No, honey. There are some parents out there who may do that, but your father and I won't. Yes, a lot of our attention will be on the baby, but we will still love you and pay attention to you. We will never forget about you, and we will never stop loving you."

Amy gave a comforting smile before wrapping her arms around him.

"Thank you, mom," Gabe says.

Amy smiles and places a kiss on his head. "You're welcome, dear. I love you."

The two remained in that position for a few more moments before Amy let Gabe go. She picked up the pizza box.

"Do you want some more," she asks.

Gabe shakes his head. "No, I'm full."

Amy nods before taking a slice for herself. "I have to eat a lot for the baby." She takes a bite of the pizza.

"You do," Gabe asks.

Amy nods her head as she takes another bite. "That and it gives me an excuse to eat as much as I want."

She giggles and so does Gabe.

As Amy finishes her pizza, she gets an idea. She effortlessly let out a very loud fart.

Gabe looked at her in surprise before starting to laugh. It wasn't the first time he had heard his mom fart, but that was certainly the loudest he had ever heard.

"Another benefit of being pregnant is that I can fart," she paused as she let out an even louder fart, "whenever I want."

Gabe started laughing harder, and Amy couldn't help but be happy at seeing her youngest son laugh so hard.

She let out a bigger fart, and she couldn't help but join in on the laughter.

Feeling another one coming, she let out another fart, but this fart was a wet explosive one.

She froze for a moment before letting out a gasp. She placed a hand over her mouth, a small embarrassed smile on her face.

"I think I just pooped myself." She couldn't even get the words out without laughing.

Mother and son laughed harder than they had ever done before. Amy felt tears in her eyes and she couldn't tell if it was from the laughter or from her embrassment.

They continued to laugh for quite a bit before calming down.

As the day ended, Gabe knew that he didn't need to worry.

He knew his mother would never stop loving him.
