Chapter 1: Adrenaline Wizard

Chapter Text

If one were to take a nice, long walk on one of the Mox Island’s many beaches, they might just find a sapphire mage with a shadowy body, pouting angrily near the water. Thankfully for this Lonely Wizard, nobody walked by & saw them crying in frustration due to their old master. Despite their pure hatred for the man, their anger alone wasn’t enough to defeat him, so the Wizard was forced to run away & lick at their wounds, unable to save their friends.

Wiping away their tears once more, they stand up, letting out a loud cry of fury, before kicking at the sand multiple times. They shut their eyes & grit their teeth, growling. When they open their eyes again, they see the same sight that they’ve been looking at for the past 20 minutes.

The wind was blowing that afternoon, but only slightly, causing the waves to safely lap at the shore. The sun was setting, painting the canvas of the sky with only the most stunning of oranges & purples. But to the Lonely Wizard? Without their friends by their side, the sight couldn’t be any more grey. They sit back down, this time angrily staring at the water, looking as though it had personally wronged him somehow, and now he’s expecting some form of compensation. Closing his eyes again to wipe his eyes once more, he opens them back up again to see…

Wait.

What the hell..?

Something washed up on shore by his feet. Something… unknowable. At first it looked like a fish, but when he reached down to touch it, it… glitched. It took the form of a squirrel, followed by a gear, and then hundreds of more forms in quick succession, faster than the Wizard could blink. Finally, it seemed to settle on something. A thick syringe, filled with some blue liquid. The Lonely Wizard can only slightly remember what it was, recognizing it from the Stim Mage card. Picking the needle up to inspect it closer, he felt as though it was… calling out to him. Telling him that if he just used it, then maybe, just maybe, he could save his friends.

Well…

He has nothing else to lose, doesn’t he?

5 minutes later

Magnificus was strolling the hallways of his tower, only briefly sparing any time to walk by the totems of his still captive students. He considers wandering around his own tower to be very relaxing, especially after stressful situations, as it reminds him of his own power & glory.

He doesn’t know how the Sapphire Mage escaped his final exam, but he reassures himself that they won’t be a thorn at his side. He made swift work of defeating them, having proven that they were as pathetic as the day that he first found them. Finally stopping in front of the towers front doors, he thinks about how weak the Sapphire Mage was during their fight, content to the fact that they shall never beat a wizard as great & grand as-

“MAGNI-FUCKIS!!! IM HERE TO D-D-D-DUEL!!!!!!!!!!” The Lonely Wizard shout at the top of their lungs as they break down the front door, despite it being unlocked. They managed to look even more frazzled & twitchy than usual, bouncing from their left foot to their right foot with bloodshot eyes, even frothing at the mouth slightly.

Before Magnificus could even respond, the Lonely Wizard sprinted towards him with a horrifyingly inhuman level of speed, drop-kicking him into oblivion.
