Chapter Text

Sumiko Melendez hummed to herself as she sat across the table from her father, kicking her feet as they sat at the booth.
“So, am I allowed to order the cosplay?”
“Which one?” Neil said as he looked up at her, “and am I stuck in another ‘ask your father’ scenario and your mom threw me under the bus?”
Sumiko chuckled slightly, “Nope. I just need a couple more pieces, Tia Claire helped me find some of the pieces, I just need to order the vest and overcoat, and the wig.”
“You’re worse than your mother, you know that, right?”
She smiled, “Soooo, can I dad?”
“Fine, fine. Order it.”
“Yes!” She said excitedly, “thank you! Thank you!”
Neil smiled as he watched the excited smile cross his daughters face as she ran off to grab her laptop to order the cosplay pieces. The door opened and his head turned to see Liam coming through the door, “Where’s mom?” He said, setting down his backpack and practice bag.
“She’s in her office working on paperwork for a case, but you need to shower first, you stink.”
He rolled his eyes slightly, “Yeah, you’re one to talk.”
“Go shower and be careful when you go talk to her, your mom has had a migraine most of today.”
“I’ll bring her a coke as a peace offering.” Liam said with a smile as Neil stood up from the table and began to go to the kitchen to cook dinner.

“Hey Mom.” Liam said as he opened the door to her office and set the coke can down on her desk, “brought you a coke, dad says you’ve had a migraine.”
“Thank you mijo.” Audrey replied, rubbing her eyes as she turned her chair to look at him, “Is something up?”
“Not really… but I just wanted to ask you something.”
She opened up the can and took a sip, “Go right ahead.”
“So you know because of this…” he said, gesturing between them, “I mean, I’m proud of it and it’s not that big of a deal… but how do you and dad deal with it?”
“I was a lot more insecure when I was in college, but you know what, fuck that. You’re a good kid Liam." "How did you get so much confidence?" "Ask yoru fatther for that advice, but learn from his mistakes, don't be a jerk to women?" "Is this because you attacked him?" "Absolutely." Audrey said with a smirk as her son chuckled, "How are you two still married?" "Your dad knows I'm the best he's ever gonna get."

Shaun sat down after fixing the height on his chair and Claire walked into his office, “Did you see Lim’s memo?”
“Does it involve me or is it another prank?” Shaun said as he typed in the login to his computer,
“It’s an actual memo. People are coming to check out the hospital.” She replied, raising an eyebrow as he read over the memo.
“What do I have to do with this?”
“It means we all have to meet them.”
Shaun groaned, “Why?”
“Because we all have to, Shaun.”

“I dragged Shaun down a hallway against his will today.” Claire said as she pushed Shaun’s desk chair with him in it into the conference room, “Our favorite introvert has been dragged here.”
“I did not agree to this. At all. Help.” Shaun said as Lim sighed,
“Trust me, I hate parading around to sponsors, but all of you need to be on your best behavior. Glassman and Andrews might actually kill us all if we fuck this up.” The chief surgeon said before Alex raised his hand,
“So basically the rest of us need to babysit you two?”
“Why would you even say that?” Lim said, “We are much older than you, we are functioning adults.”
“You tried to push Andrews down the stairs last time.” Neil replied, “Correction, please babysit my wife. I love her but she is… interesting.”
“And babysit my girlfriend too.” Claire said as Morgan looked over.
“Watch your steps, Cardio Unit.” Morgan and Lim said, almost in unison as their partners smirked.
“Department war!” Alex exclaimed as Shaun started to laugh. Claire and Neil rolled their eyes as Morgan looked at Audrey,
“Shall we continue our tradition?
“Why don’t we wait until after the meeting,” Audrey replied.

“Hey, Sumi. I was thinking… you know how I told you I wanted to be your Crowley?”
“Yes, for comic-con.” Sumiko replied, not looking up from her laptop, “I don’t see why that would change.”
“No, of course not. But what if I wanted to be the Crowley to your Aziraphale?” Stephanie replied, leaning over the girl’s laptop.
“But you already are going to be.” Sumiko replied bluntly as she tilted her head slightly.
“Sumiko, I like someone. I like someone in your family, a very specific Melendez.”
“Oh, Liam?”
Stephanie rolled her eyes, “You know what, I’ll see you later. Just think about it, alright?!”

“Stephanie likes Liam, which sucks because I like Steph.” Sumiko said as she laid her head on the table before Audrey looked over,
“What did she say, honey?”
“She said she liked a specific Melendez. Then she left after I said that she liked Liam.”
Liam, Neil, and Audrey all looked at the youngest Melendez daughter and they each gave a very similar expression that made their heads tilt seemingly in unison,
“Uhhh… Sumi?”
“What?”
