Phoenix (On Hold - Temporarily)

Summary:

Izuku is Quirkless, except he soon finds out that just because he doesn't have Quirk, doesn't mean he has no powers. You see, he can cheat death, all it takes is a complete change in appearance. Surely he can still be a Hero, right? After all immortality basically means he can take the risks others can't.

Notes:

This will have no other aspects of Doctor Who other then the regeneration...

Chapter 1: My New Powers Killed Me...Don't Worry I'm Not Dead

Chapter Text

Izuku hadn't felt well since he arrived at UA for the exam, he felt itchy, achy, and like a burning was under his skin. It hadn't been bad, not at first. It only became unbearable when he activated One For All for the first time, specifically leaping into the air to save the brown haired girl who had prevented him from tripping earlier.

Currently he was directly above the robot, his mind processing so much pain that he couldn't focus on the Zero pointer that was aiming for the girl. He vaguely thought he heard voices shouting at him, but dismissed it as hallucinations from the pain.

A moment later time seemed to stop for a split second in preparation for something, before Izuku exploded. Literally.

Every inch of his skin that wasn't covered in cloths was burning a bright gold color. With the last of his mental strength Izuku aimed his arms toward the Zero pointer as he fell, burning the robot to the melting point. If Izuku could think straight he would have been amazed at how hot the energy erupting from him was, it had to be hotter then the sun.

Suddenly as soon as it started it stopped and Izuku continued to free fall down to the ground. Just before he crashed the girl from before smacked him and he felt himself float down gently, he turned to thank the girl only to notice the ends of his hair. It was cream colored, not the forest green it normally was.

"W-What happened?" Izuku stammered out pulling at his hair in shock, that wasn't the only difference Izuku could feel now that he had regained his senses. No, his teeth felt odd, like they didn't belong.

"You exploded in the sky, it was insane!" The girl commented giving him an awed look." You looked like that mythical bird, a phoenix, I think it's called."

Izuku stared at the girl confused, that wasn't how All Might described One For All. In fact Izuku had never heard of a Quirk like the one he displayed. He stumbled slightly coughing up some gold dust, making him blink in surprise. That wasn't normal...

"Yoichi, what just happened?" A woman's voice asked someone, making Izuku turn to spot a group of seven people gaping at him. The woman who had spoken looked extremely similar to his mom, except she had dark grey eyes and black hair.

"I...don't know, Nana." Someone else responded, most likely this Yoichi individual. The man had white hair, green eyes and a puzzled expression on his face.

Izuku ignored them for the moment, deciding it was more important to figure out what had happened then what random people were thinking. He looked up in time to see Toshinori and...was that Recovery Girl, running towards him?

"Young Midoriya!" Toshinori called out as soon as he was within hearing range." Are you ok, what happened?"

Izuku didn't know what happened, so he simply shrugged helplessly. Briefly wondering why no one was surprised to see a group of seven adults in the UA entrance exam arena. Were they the people keeping the examines scores?

"I-I'm fine, Yagi-san." Izuku responded softly, before pointing towards the group who were still whispering to themselves." Um who are those seven people over there, they look to old to be taking a high school exam."

Toshinori looked in the direction Izuku pointed at, a frown developing on his face. At the same time the group of seven froze, turning to stare at Izuku in shock.

"My boy, there is no one there." Toshinori said turning back to look at him, making Izuku swallow nervously. Why couldn't Toshinori see them, why did the group look so surprised he could as well?

"S-Sorry...um, must have been imagining it." Izuku muttered but he didn't look away from the seven people that no one could see.

Who were they and why couldn't anyone else see them?

"It's quite alright, my boy." Toshinori said with a weak smile." I am just relieved you are alright, even if I don't know what that light show was about."

"I wish I knew, it isn't anything to do with One For All...I don't think." Izuku admitted with a thoughtful frown." I know I don't have a Quirk, so honestly this is kind of a mystery. Maybe it was someone else's Quirk?

"No one in the school roster had a Quirk similar to that." Toshinori stated with a shake of his head." Are you sure your Quirkless?"

Izuku blinked, he was positive. The doctor had stated he didn't have the Quirk factor gene in his blood, he hadn't just gotten an X-Ray.

"I am positive, I don't have the Quirk factor in my blood." Izuku stated in confusion." I am fairly certain people don't just spontaneously gain one in their lives."

Toshinori frown in confusion, his face scrunched up in thought. Which was inturrupted by the Recovery Girl's diagnosis.

"There is nothing wrong with him, medically." Recovery Girl stated frowning." He's not wrong though, he doesn't have a Quirk Factor from what I can tell. However there is a energy practically overflowing inside him, not all of it from One For All either."

Izuku blinked, he had power but not a Quirk?

"What does that mean?" Toshinori asked gently, his voice concerned." Is the energy dangerous?"

Recovery Girl shook her head, sighing in frustration.

"That's just the thing, if anything its the only reason Midoriya here is alive right now." Recovery Girl explained grimly." The energy has restoration abilities, to an extent I've never heard of."

The group of seven invisible people had leaned in closer to hear Recovery Girl talk, curiosity sparkling the their eyes.

"Why is my hair cream now though?" Izuku asked confused." It was green before the incident, so why?"

"It's not just your hair, young man." Recovery Girl stated with a sigh." Your eyes, facial structure, and height have changed as well."

Izuku was shocked, no wonder he felt he was in a different body. He was, at least in the way it mattered. Sure he could dye his hair and wear contacts, but he couldn't change his facial structure. What had even happened to him?

"What color are my eyes?" Izuku asked, his voice barely above a whisper. Recovery Girl glanced at Toshinori, before looking back to him.

"Red, their red." Recovery girl stated, looking oddly uncomfortable with the topic. Izuku blinked before frowning, was he albino? His hair was certainly light enough, only a shade darker then white.

"How is this possible?" Izuku whispered out loud." Toshinori, I am medically Quirkless...how is it that I have a Quirk that has nothing to do with...you know what?"

Toshinori hesitated for a few moments, as if wrestling with a decision. After a while he let out a sigh, seeming resigned.

"I think this is a conversation that's long overdue." Toshinori said slowly." We can talk about this once your in the medical bay, don't worry though. Recovery Girl and Nedzu are in on the secret of One For All, I promise."

Izuku nodded in acceptance, yet still scared of what had happened.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Izuku sat in the medical bed of UA, Recovery Girl had chosen to keep him overnight. Only an hour ago he had gotten the full truth of One For All from Toshinori, he didn't blame his mentor for not telling him. It wasn't relevant considering how All For One was now dead, either way the thought that he had the Quirk that once belonged to All For One's brother was crazy.
"Is anyone nearby?" The woman asked on of the other people that only Izuku could see, they had been anxiously standing there for awhile and were only now beginning to talk.
"No, Nana." A man responded." No ones due to come for a couple hours at least."
Izuku turned to face them, finally gaining the courage to really look at all of the people. The first one was a skinny man, though not as bad as Toshinori. He had pure snow white hair and the same eyes Izuku used to have. His aura was white, it gave off the feeling of safety and kindness.
The man next to the white haired man was a sandy haired man, the piercing red eyes seeming to drill into Izuku's own. This man was sturdy with a similar build to Kacchan, his aura was blue. It felt like protection and authority.
Third down the line of people was a man with a short pony tail, they had brown hair and light brown eyes. They had a similar build to Kacchan's father, with a red aura surrounding them. They felt gentle and deadly.
Izuku turned to the fourth figure, another white haired man. This one had two jagged scars running over his left eye. He looked older and had grey eyes. The aura surrounding them was forest green, the feelings of solitude and compassion coming of the man.
The fifth figure had no hair and red eyes, his laid back expression and stance showed he was fairly easygoing. He was bulky, with a dark orange aura. He gave off the feeling of mischief and determination.
The next one was young, likely the youngest out of the group. They looked in their late teens or early twenties. They had black hair and eyes, with a blue costume that covered the lower half of their face. They had a light blue aura, with feels of warmth and understanding rolling off of them.
Lastly was the woman, she had black hair and dark grey eyes. She was fairly pretty, her hair done up in the same manner as his mother. Her aura was pink, and she felt motherly and fierce. Very similar to how his own mother felt.
"Hello, Ninth." The skinny white haired man greeted with a smile." We weren't expecting you to be able to see us, either way it is wonderful to meet you. My name's Yoichi Shigaraki."
Izuku stared at Yoichi, his heart hammering in his chest. The man's voice was like bells chiming, it was almost like a melody.
"Ninth?" Izuku asked, feeling so out of depth. Nothing was making sense, who were these people and why could only he see them?
"I am the first holder of One For All, these are my successors." Yoichi explained, before gesturing to the rest of the group. Izuku's eyes went wide, completely dumbfounded at the thought that he was talking to a group of ghosts.
"Oh." Izuku murmured, his mind blanking slightly." You feel...like safety and kindness, but if your the First user then that makes sense, I suppose."
The bald man snickered into his hand, amusement flickering in his red eyes. Izuku blinked unsure of what the man was laughing about, until he saw the blush that had crept onto Yoichi's cheeks and ear tips. Oh, what he said wasn't that odd, was it?
"S-Sorry if that made you uncomfortable, Yoichi-san." Izuku stated giving the First user a nervous look. He didn't want to offend the man.
"No, it's quite alright, Ninth." Yoichi protested with a chuckle." I was just not expecting to hear that, that's all, you didn't do anything wrong. I promise."
Izuku nodded, relieved that Yoichi wasn't mad at him.
"What do the rest of us feel like, kid?" The bald man asked curiously." Bye the way, name's Banjo Daigorou. You can call me by my first name, only fair considering your the current wielder of One For All."
Izuku smiled at the man now identified as Banjo, happy another of the ghosts were friendly and kind. Then Banjo's original question came to mind.
"You feel like...mischief and determination." Izuku eventually stated, looking thoughtfully around the room. He wondered why he could feel the Ghosts like this, did it have something to do with his weird abilities?
"Sounds accurate." The man with his lower face covered said with an amused chuckle." My name is En, my Quirk is Smokescreen. What about how I feel?"
"You feel like warmth and understanding." Izuku replied, trying to ignore the urge to ask questions about the man's Quirk.
Eventually he learned all of the users names, Nana Shimura, Shinomori Hikage, Katsumi Bakugou, and Sokka. Each of them had interesting personalities, and only the Second and Third users were standoffish. Yoichi was still his favorite though, he didn't know why though. It was just a feeling of belonging with him, like talking to Yoichi meant he was home.
Soon however he had to get to sleep, Nana sat on his bed as she sung a lullaby. Just as he was fading out of the waking world he managed to catch on more sentence.
"Sleep well, Ninth, you've done good." Yoichi's voice chimed as Izuku lost awareness.
Chapter 2: The Danger Of Singularity
Chapter Text
When Izuku woke he noted that most of the ghosts had wandered off, only Yoichi, Banjo, and Nana remained. Yoichi was keeping watch over him, putting himself between Izuku and the door. Banjo was chatting with Nana, both glancing at Yoichi with amused expressions.
"So it wasn't a dream." Izuku commented immediately reining in the attention of the three ghosts in the room. All of which were giving him concerned looks, why he didn't know.
They hadn't given him these looks yesterday, had something happened since then?
"Ninth, your alright!" Yoichi exclaimed with relief, once again confusing Izuku. Why wouldn't he be alright, he didn't remember anything after he fell asleep.
"What happened?" Izuku asked the concerned ghost trio." All I remember was falling asleep, but considering your reactions that wasn't all that happened."
"You, kinda exploded into gold fire again, only an few hours after you fell asleep." Banjo said with a wince." It was scary to see up close, last time we were on the ground."
Izuku's eyes widened in surprise, did his appearance change again?
Yoichi who seemed to be following Izuku's thought process helped him up, then walked him to the bathroom. It surprised Izuku that the ghost could make physical contact with him and not with anyone else, but that was a discussion for another time. He walked into the tiny bathroom, and looked into the mirror.
His original green eyes and hair weren't there, but neither were the cream colored hair and red eyes. Instead he had fire red hair and bright blue eyes, which mean he had once again changed. He winced, was this gonna be a common thing, his mouth felt weird again. Like it just didn't belong.
"I'm a red head now." Izuku commented, his mind dissociating from the situation. He felt numb, Recovery Girl would be able to fix this. Right?
"Young Midoriya, are in the bathroom?" Toshinori's voice asked through the door, and Izuku jumped nearly knocking over Yoichi.
He whipped the door open, watching as Toshinori's eyes widened.
"It appears I had a little...um, incident while I was asleep." Izuku admitted, finding it odd that his voice was much deeper then it used to be.
"I'll get Recovery Girl, just wait on the bed until then." Toshinori ordered and Izuku nodded, letting Yoichi drag him back to the bed.
Izuku was so confused, he had spent his life thinking he hadn't had a Quirk. Then he got One For All, now he was exploding into different appearances. What did even mean, why was everything so confusing?
"I have an explanation." Hikage's voice spoke up, drawing Izuku's attention to the Fourth user. Yoichi looked relieved, while Banjo and Nana looked concerned.
"What's wrong with, Ninth?" Yoichi asked and Hikage winced, Izuku had feeling whatever was causing the explosions wasn't a good thing.
"He's keeps dying." Hikage says, looking tired." One For All has gotten too powerful, it's reached singularity, his body disintegrates from the inside out."
The silence in the room almost seemed to be just as loud as any noise.
"If I'm dying...then how am I alive?" Izuku asked confused, which made the others tilt their heads in thought. However it seemed Hikage also had the answer to the problem.
"Every time you change, the damage is reversed to the beginning." Hikage explained." I don't know why you can do what you are doing, since you don't have a natural Quirk factor."
Izuku's eyes closed his eyes, so he would be constantly changing or dying for the rest of his life? God, how was he going to tell Toshinori, or his mom?
"Isn't there anything we can do?" Yoichi asked, their voice cracking." Normally it would be to late to find a solution, but in this case...he keeps resetting...couldn't we find something that would help him?"
Hikage stayed silent for a moment, but it was Nana that spoke up next.
"Remember David Shield, Toshi's friend?" Nana asked and the others nodded." If anyone could invent something that could save Izuku, it would be him."
"It's worth a shot." Hikage admitted with a nod." The only problem is Izuku's power is unique, it doesn't run off of a Quirk factor. We have no way of knowing if the number of times he can change has a limit, if it does...then what?"
Before the conversation could continue, the door opened revealing Toshinori and Recovery Girl. Izuku gave the two a weak smile, still recovering from the knowledge he was dying...repeatedly.
"I see you had another incident?" Recovery Girl asked and he nodded in response, trying to ignore how his heart clenched painfully as Yoichi fought back tears. Why was a man who had just met him crying over him and why did Izuku want to comfort him?
"Yeah, it was in my sleep this time." Izuku admitted and that caused Recovery Girl to pause, turning to look at Izuku with a shocked expression.
"In your sleep?" Recovery Girl asked looking disturbed. Izuku nodded and watched Toshinori turn to the medical Hero curiously.
"What's wrong with it being in his sleep?" Toshinori asked and Recovery Girl sighed, going back to her work.
"Despite not being a Quirk, Izuku's powers would theoretically work similar in the sense that it would be an extension of himself." Recovery Girl explained slowly." If his powers are acting up when he isn't aware of it, then it could mean there is something wrong. His powers may be reacting to something detrimental to his health."
Izuku blinked, surprised at the fairly accurate words, even Hikage was surprised considering that besides Yoichi he seemed the most knowledgeable about One For All.
"I see." Toshinori said softly, panic and worry in his expression. Oh no, was he blaming himself for One For All?
Izuku couldn't let Toshinori blame himself, he couldn't have known the price of passing One For All down again. He looked over at the three Ghosts, pleading them for permission to tell Toshinori about them. Banjo who had been silently observing up until that moment sighed, nodding his head.
"Um, Yagi-san." Izuku spoke up softly." Um, I think I see dead people...I mean the former users of...you know what."
Toshinori's eyes widened in surprise, clearly not having expected that.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After explaining everything Toshinori was sitting there pale as paper, his head in his hands muttering about how it was all his fault.

"It's not you fault, Yagi-san." Izuku protested softly." You couldn't have possibly known about any of this. None of the other holders but Hikage lived long enough for the effects to show and you were Quirkless and it wasn't powerful enough to bother you. I am also Quirkless, the users confirmed my ability wasn't the result of a Quirk, but One For All has reached singularity."

Recovery Girl gasped, her hand flying to her mouth as realization took hold.

"Oh my, in med school we learned about the singularity theory." Recovery Girl said looking distraught." It was disproved because with every generation we not only got more powerful, but our bodies learned to evolve with the Quirks in our world. However with One For All, it likely fast tracks this to the point when at a certain point the power grows faster then the human body can evolve to handle it."

"That's pretty much what they told me." Izuku commented tiredly, rubbing his hand down his face in acceptance." The only good part of this is we have a chance to fix the problem, Shimura-san says David Shield could perhaps invent something to siphon of the energy not needed from One For All."

Toshinori's eyes widened and he burst into a grin, looking much lighter then he had been from the start of the conversation.

"That's brilliant!" Toshinori exclaimed grabbing his phone." In fact he's already started developing that kind of technology for other uses, so he has a head start. I just need to contact him about the situation and get a online meeting arranged. Then perhaps a in-person consolation."

Izuku nodded rapidly, relieved that he might be able to get this situation under control. He didn't want to constantly explode and change appearance, it was impractical and it hurt like there was no tomorrow. He turned to face the users that were standing silently, Yoichi looked so worried Izuku thought the man was going to pass out. Even if they were a ghost.

"Yoichi-san, how many hours was it between my first change and my second?" Izuku asked and Yoichi blinked, frowning thoughtfully.

"About seven hours." Yoichi said eventually." It happened in the middle of the night."

Izuku turned to Recovery Girl relaying the information, before pausing to think for a moment on what to do next. He could register it as a side effect of his Quirk, that way his Quirk wouldn't be linked to All Might.

"I feel that if I manage to get into UA, we should tell my homeroom teacher the truth about One For All." Izuku said as he looked toward Toshinori who had reentered the room after his phone call." Normally I would agree with Yagi-san about keeping the Quirk a secret, but in this case it may be more harmful then not to keep it secret. Especially if I am exploding and changing every seven hours, like we estimate."

Toshinori sat down thinking over my words carefully, before letting out a resigned sigh and nodding. It was clear even his mentor was acknowledging the need to let people in on the secret in order to keep him safe. It warmed Izuku's heart that his mentor cared more about his well being then the secret he's kept for most of his life.

"That sounds reasonable." Toshinori admitted before hesitating." I already know your exam results and under normal circumstances you'd be forced to wait, I think we can make an exception considering you need to have a meeting with your homeroom teacher to talk about precautions we may need to take."

"Are you sure, Yagi-san?" Izuku asked looking nervous." I don't want you to get into trouble for telling me."

"It's fine young Midoriya." Toshinori responded with a smile." You got zero Villain points, but leaping into danger to save the girl gave you 57 Rescue points. You passed!"

Izuku let out a breath he had been holding, he had thought he had passed considering Toshinori hadn't hinted at the fact he didn't. That being said there had been a fear that he was wrong and he would end up being forced to wait another year, which wouldn't have been to bad considering he would have time to learn how to control One For All.

For better or for worse, despite his knew found fatal reaction to his new Quirk, Izuku felt more alive then he ever had before. He was going to UA!

Chapter 3: Crush

Chapter Text

For the next few days Izuku suffered the constant degradation of his body over and over again, it was exhausting to explode ever seven hours. He was better, then he got sick again, explode, then was better once more. Through out the entire thing however, Yoichi, Hikage, and Banjo stood by him. The others did too, when they weren't off gaining information for him, they thought it was their responsibility to provide information for some reason.

He was grateful for the company though, he didn't think he could do this alone and Toshinori wasn't always able to be there. Recovery Girl had decided to keep him in the medical bay until his first day at school, his mom had agreed as she had been worried about him.

Unfortunately the constant alone time with the users of One For All revealed worrying emotions in Izuku, he supposed it wasn't normal to develop a crush on a ghost. Then again nothing about this situation was normal.

He only realized what he was going through when he heard Nana talking about how she fell in love with her husband. His symptoms matched hers, which was unsettling since he had only known Yoichi for a couple days.

Let's not forget the whole, him being an adult and ghost...because apparently love doesn't discriminate about that kinda stuff.

His most annoying issues were his heart sped up when Yoichi was near, his face flushed more regularly when talking to him, and he couldn't stop thinking about the white haired ghost. It was starting to affect him to a degree that others starting to notice, which was extremely hard to pass off.

"Class is starting today, you excited, Young Midoriya?" Toshinori asked with a soft smile, Izuku nodded rapidly. This would take his mind off of Yoichi, at least that was what he hoped would happen.

"Yeah, I just hope our Homeroom teacher will be ok with my...current disability." Izuku said with a wince, in order to be allowed into UA, Izuku had to register his current explosive outbursts as a medical condition.

It was to insure accidents and other situations didn't get out of hand, he wouldn't be coddled but he would be given a bit more attention the normal.

"Aizawa is a fair teacher, he does have a rough edge to him, but it's mostly for show." Toshinori said with a wink, earning a snicker from Izuku.

Izuku paused for a moment, before glancing around. Thankfully Yoichi wasn't around today, that job was Hikage and En's. They had started to take shifts, some would go while at least two would stay behind.

"Hey...Yagi-san?" Izuku asked hesitantly, earning a curious look from the Hero." I think I like someone, but...I know shouldn't."

Toshinori paused at the words, before giving Izuku a closer look.

"It wouldn't happen to be a certain...ghost, would it?" Toshinori questioned and Izuku gaped, how had his mentor known that?

"How?!" Izuku squawked, looking shocked. Toshinori let out a laugh at his expression, before shaking his head fondly.

"Oh, I don't know." Toshinori drawled out in amusement." Maybe it's the constant talking about 'how cool, Yoichi-kun is' or 'did you know Yoichi's hair feels like silk'....perhaps it's even the whole staring off into nothing while muttering about him?"

Izuku was mortified, did that mean Yoichi knew about his crush? Oh god, this was so embarrassing, it was even worse when he noticed Hikage smirking and En was trying to hold back giggles. Traitors, the lot of them!

"I didn't know it was that obvious, Yoichi hasn't shown any recognition of my feelings." Izuku admitted looking concerned.

"Well you have to understand, Yoichi's been dead for a long time." Toshinori pointed out with a frown." He is gonna be a little rusty on relationship knowledge, assuming he ever dated or was interested in anyone before he died."

Izuku had to admit that was a good point, for all he knew Yoichi wasn't even into non-platonic love. He hoped that wasn't the case, Izuku had a type and it was usually the ones he couldn't be with or didn't have a chance with.

"I'm doomed." Izuku mumbled, his face in his hands." All I wanted was a Quirk and to become a Hero, why'd it have to come with a free hot looking ghost that I have literally no chance with whatsoever?!"

As Izuku mourned his unfortunate situation, Hikage and En plotted.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Izuku walked into Class 1-A, nerves on end.
He immediately spotted Kacchan, but his friend clearly didn't recognize him. Not mention he just went through a transformation, he was currently sporting dark red hair and black eyes that had a streak of silver in them.
"Oh hello!" Ochaco called out to Izuku once she spotted him." I didn't see you at the entrance exam, who are you?"
Izuku groaned, he had decided to pick several of the same outfit so that it would be easy to tell who he was to his classmates. It would be better then the constant introductions at the very least, that and he would have to choose what to wear every day. Due to this he had been allowed to wear something other then the UA uniform during everyday class, though he would have to wear the uniform when off UA property.
"It's me, Midoriya." Izuku greeted the brunette, making Ochaco wince slightly.
"Sorry, Midoriya-kun." Ochaco apologized with a sigh." It's hard to recognize you when your constantly changing appearance."
Izuku nodded, accepting the unnecessary apology. After all in the end it only matter that he had a friend, regardless of the situation. Hikage, Yoichi, and Sokka watching from the sidelines gave small smiles.
Over the course of his time in the medical bay, Izuku had for lack of a better term, Info-dumped his entire life story on the former One For All users. It felt nice being able to tell someone the things he never dared tell the living, the one who seemed to understand him the most was Yoichi.
The reminder of his crush made his cheeks go red, earning a interested look from Ochaco who had been talking to him.
"Why are you blushing?" Ochaco asked and Izuku tried to stammer out a response, failing multiple times before managing to get a word out.
"Um...just...uh, thinking of someone-I mean something!" Izuku stammer out, his face getting even redder. Ochaco's eyes widened, before a mischievous smirk spread across her face.
"Oh, do you have a crush?" Ochaco asked innocently." Is it someone in this room, or from somewhere else."
Izuku blanked, not knowing how to respond to that. In technicality Yoichi was in the room with him, but as a Ghost did that even count?
"Uh, they are in the room." Izuku mumbled, but the grin that spread across Ochaco's face showed she had heard every word." Just don't go looking for them, please!"
Ochaco pouted, but a stern look from Izuku was enough to make her back down. He let out a breath of relief, he didn't want his friend snooping into his love life. Otherwise she might find out he could see dead people, or at least seven dead people. It was unlikely he could see others besides the One For All users, he wasn't even sure how that itself was possible.
"Alright, but you have to let me be your wing-woman!" Ochaco stated, much to Izuku surprise." Also tell me if their male or female!"
Izuku hesitated for a moment, before deciding that perhaps help wouldn't be a bad idea in this case. He glanced over to Yoichi who was chatting with Sokka, the First users hair swaying in an invisible breeze. He needed as much help as he could get, especially if it was obvious enough to even the other users and Toshinori.
"Um, their male." Izuku muttered softly, earning a triumphant grin from Ochaco." I suppose I could use a bit of help with my crush, it may not develop further...but it would be a good idea for a support regardless."
Ochaco nodded, her grin having softened to a small smile. Izuku hadn't know the brunette for very long, but he had already become fast friends with her. It was nice to finally have friends who didn't blow him up for the slightest word, he glanced at Kacchan when the thought crossed his mind.
Kacchan looked nearly identical to the Katsumi, so much so that it was unsettling. Despite this he tried not to think about the resemblance to much, he could ask the second user about it later.
Suddenly the door to the classroom opened, revealing a tall dark haired man wearing a grey scarf.
"If you just here to make friends, then leave." The man stated sternly." Your here to train to be a Hero, not for social interactions."
The entire room fell silents at those words, before everyone sat down quickly and waited for the man to continue. It was amazing how easily the room listened to someone they didn't even know, it was like authority rolled off the man in waves. Even the One For All users were now paying attention, much to Izuku's illogical jealousy.
"It took you all of eight seconds to settle down, we'll need to work on that." The man muttered, before speaking up." The names Aizawa Shouta, I am your homeroom teacher."
Katsumi and Sokka looked the man up and down a few times, before deciding they approved. Much to Izuku's mild amusement.
"Get your gym clothes on and meet me outside in ten minutes." Aizawa ordered and the class leapt into action.
As Izuku passed by Aizawa, he couldn't help but think their teacher was rather familiar.
Chapter 4: Aizawa's Test
Chapter Text
Once everyone had made it out onto the field, it was immediately apparent that this was going to be a test. At least it was obvious to Izuku, the rest of the class seemed to be still fairly confused. It was understandable of course, they were meant to be doing an orientation class with the principal
"It took you nearly the entire given time to get here, this is unacceptable." Aizawa stated coldly as he glared at the class." Now, today we will be doing a Quirk Apprehension Test, to give me a better idea of your skills and Quirks."
The class murmured to each other, many of them looking nervous or confused.
"Sir, didn't we already pass the exam?" A pink girl asked." Don't you already know our Quirks and skills?"
Aizawa turned to the girl, who became fidgety under the intense glare of their teacher. Izuku gave a wince of sympathy for her, she was clearly just trying to be brave.
"I was not one of the judges." Aizawa responded simply." As such I only have files on hand to gauge your abilities, as such I want to see your Quirks first hand."
The users of One For All were listening intently to the teacher, Izuku noted all seven users were there. Katsumi and Sokka clearly liked the teacher, which Izuku didn't know whether that was a good or bad thing.
'Guy's a bit...intense.' Daigorou stated with a frown.' I don't know how much I like the dude, poor Nine is gonna have a hard time if their that strict.'
'It's clear he's been through a lot.' Yoichi said defending Aizawa.' Second was the same way when he rescued me.'
Something in that sentence made it seem as if Yoichi was remembering something, his time with the second and third users perhaps?
'It doesn't matter, their kids!" Daigorou protested.' They shouldn't be having such a cold teacher.'
No one responded to that statement, however it was clear most of the users felt the same way if their expressions were anything to go by. Izuku decided to not look to far into why the users seemed to dislike Aizawa so much.
Aizawa however was a mystery to Izuku, he didn't dislike the man nor did he particularly like him. He just felt like he'd seen him before, or not him specifically...but his presence. He felt like some one he knew, but he could figure out who that was. He could ask Aizawa another time, that was if the teacher would listen.
"Bakugou, step up." Aizawa ordered and Kacchan walked over to the teacher." How far could you through in middle school?"
"Forty-seven meters." Kacchan replied, a smug smirk on his face.
"Throw the ball with your Quirk, stay in the circle." Aizawa stated and tossed Kacchan a ball, before stepping back with a device in hand.
Kacchan walked over to the circle, before getting into a throwing position. A few moments later his arms swung forward and the sound of an explosion echoed in the field. A beep came from Aizawa's device, revealing a few numbers.
"Eight hundred meters, not bad." Aizawa acknowledged, before turning to the class." You have ten tests to go through, you are allowed to use your Quirks for all of them."
The class whispered in excitement, eager to be able to user their Quirks. Then one stupid kid decided to open their mouths.
"This will be so much fun!" The black haired kid said with a grin." We get to use our Quirks as much as we want to!"
"You think this is fun and games?" Aizawa growled, bringing attention back to him as he glared at the black haired teen." Natural disasters, Villain attacks, and destructive accidents are anything but fun. If you think this is so fun, then lets make a game out of it. You'll all compete on the tests, the person who gets last place is expelled!"
The class went silent, Izuku felt his nerves begin to spike. Even Katsumi and Sokka were mildly surprised by the threat of expulsion.
"You can't expel us!" A yellow haired teen shouted, sounding scared.
"Yeah, we passed the entrance exam fair and square." The black haired teen shouted out once more.
"At UA, teachers have a right to run their classes any way they decided is fit." Aizawa explained." This includes, expelling any students I don't see fit to become Heroes."
Izuku shot the One For All users a nervous look, he couldn't use his Quirk without shortening his current forms lifespan. This meant that he would only have a couple of minutes after the tests, instead of the hours he would have usually had.
"Wish me luck." Izuku mumbled under his breath, Yoichi gave him a reassuring smile. The sight of which made his heart flutter in his chest.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Izuku was preparing for the ball throw, the last test he needed to finish. He hadn't used One For All at all during the tests, deciding it was safer not to. This time however, it was necessary in order to pass.

He pulled his arm back and swung, blinking in confusion when the ball barely moved forward. Then he noticed Yoichi and the other users had disappeared, making his heart drop to his stomach in fear. Did something happen? He looked around before noticing that Aizawa was staring at him with glowing red eyes and floating hair.

"W-What did you do?" Izuku asked, scared of the response. Aizawa's eyes turned back to normal black, his hair falling down again.

"I turned off your Quirk." Aizawa explained simply and Izuku ignored the mutters between the One For All users as they returned." You exploded the last time you used your Quirk, we don't need a repeat of that."

Izuku frowned, his teacher knew he couldn't control the explosions. How was he supposed to use One For All if he couldn't use it?

He stared down at the ball in his hands, fear beginning to rise inside him as he tried to think of a plan. Suddenly a strange idea crossed Izuku's mind, he knew the users could make skin to skin contact with him. Turning he looked over to Daigorou, this was going to be awkward for him...especially with everyone staring at him.

"Hey, Five...mind coming over?" Izuku asked Daigorou, the user blinked in shock, before nodding and walking up to Izuku.

"What do ya need?" Daigorou asked curiously." I am surprised your talking to us while in full view of everyone."

"You told be last your Quirk was Black Whip right?" Izuku asked the user, who nodded in confirmation." Great, I want to test a little theory, place your hand on my shoulder."

Daigorou did as he was told, his hand was cold even through Izuku's gym uniform.

"Now, try and use your Quirk...through me." Izuku suggested with a smirk, earning shocked looks from not only the class and Aizawa, but from the users as well.

Daigorou frowned, but attempted to use his Quirk. To the surprise of everyone a single black tendril of dark energy flowed out of Izuku and waved aimlessly in the air. Izuku grinned widely as he realized his theory was correct.

"Can you pick up the ball and throw it?" Izuku asked and Daigorou's eyes widened in realization, before he grinned and did exactly as Izuku wanted.

The ball was picked up from the ground where it had awkwardly landed, before the tendril threw it across the field, and a beep from the device Aizawa held made him turn to his teacher in curiosity.

"Seven hundred and thirty meters." Aizawa declared, giving Izuku a stare." Midoriya, please stay behind after class, I need to speak with you."

Izuku nodded, having expected something like that to happen. Whether due to his exploding habit or the talking to dead people thing.

"Deku!" Kacchan's voice inturrupted the class." How the hell did you do that?!"

He turned to face Kacchan, flinching at the angry expression on the teens face. Anger coming from Kacchan meant pain, which had him instinctively curling into himself. He didn't notice the protective fury in the eyes of the users, more specifically the curled lipped snarl that was on Yoichi's face.

"K-Kacchan!" Izuku stammered out." I didn't do anything, it was Five who did that!"

Kacchan's red eyes flashed dangerously as he raised his hands, explosions crackling loudly between his fingers.

"Your just a Quirkless loser, how the hell did you do that!" Kacchan demanded as he stalked forward. However before the explosive teen could reach Izuku, a tape-like rope wrapped around Kacchan and held him still.

The explosions stopped and Izuku turned to look at Aizawa, who had a furious and downright murderous look on his face. He felt bad for Kacchan, things weren't looking good for his former friend.

"Bakugou, report to the Principals office." Aizawa ordered." Your expelled, you can re-enroll next year assuming your attitude changes. There is a no tolerance for bullying of any kind at UA, that goes for Quirk discrimination."

Kacchan's entire face went slack, the explosive teen so shocked he didn't even shout out in anger. Izuku himself was nearly gaping at Aizawa, the only teacher in his entire life that has done anything about Kacchan's behavior. It almost seemed like Izuku was in a dream, the One For All users gave Aizawa an extremely satisfied look.

This school years was looking like it was going to be very interesting.

Chapter 5: USJ

Notes:

I skipped the Combat Training arc...without Bakugou, it wasn't particularly necessary to put in.

Also...sorry for any of the Bakugou fans reading this. I just didn't need the explosive boi in the story...so that's why he got the boot.

please don't kill me!

Chapter Text

The next couple weeks passed, with Izuku getting used to his explosions and the One For All users. He had also started training with his ability to let the users use their Quirks through him when they touched him. According to Yoichi though, it was likely he would eventually be able to use them himself due to One For All having reached singularity.

Speaking of the first One For All user, Izuku had noticed his crush had gotten worse. In fact it was now impacting his grades, meaning he would need to face the problem eventually. He just couldn't bear the thought of Yoichi feeling uncomfortable around him, the first user was twenty-eight when he had died!

That meant Yoichi was thirteen years older then him, it was wrong to like the man. Yet apparently his body's chemical reactions didn't care about that, he was attracted to Yoichi both physically and emotionally. Which made things worse, he could ignore the physical aspect, since he didn't really care about that part of a person. The emotional aspect was an entirely different thing.

He was starting daydreaming constantly about Yoichi's laugh, likes, and dislikes.

Izuku groaned into his desk, Hikage giving him a mocking pat on the back. His class knew about his Ghost seeing abilities, but nothing about the ghosts themselves. Izuku had decided that was for the best, he didn't need them to connect his Quirk with the users of One For All.

It also gave him excuses for when he was muttering, which was one thing he was grateful for.

"Today we are going on a trip to the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, or USJ for short." Aizawa stated, gaining the attention of the class." This means we

Izuku's mouth widened into a grin, excitement rushing through him.

"Calm down there, Izu-kun." Yoichi said with a hint of amusement." We understand you excited, but your practically trembling."

"Sorry, Yoi-Yoi." Izuku said, giving the user a sheepish look. The first user just smiled fondly, before they both turned their attention back to Aizawa who was finishing up his explanations of the days lesson.

The class were told to make their way to the parking lot, so Izuku followed the others as they began walking.

"Hey, Izuku?" Ochaco asked, catching Izuku's attention." You excited for the USJ?"

Izuku paused to think about it. Rescue training while not his cup of tea, was still extremely valuable. He was excited to learn the skill, even if he didn't become a Rescue Hero. He gave Ochaco a small nod.

"Yeah, I am planning on becoming a Spotlight Hero, but it will be a good skill to have regardless." Izuku admitted with a smile. Ochaco nodded along eagerly, which told Izuku exactly what she was aiming for.

"Yeah, I am definitely gonna be a Rescue Hero when I get out of UA!" Ochaco declared, before giving Izuku a sly look." By the way, hows it going with your crush?"

Izuku spluttered, nearly stumbling over the curb as the bus came into view. Yoichi was right there, he could talk about his crush in front of him. That would be so awkward, not to mention if Yoichi liked him he would assume he was talking about someone else.

"Ochaco!" Izuku protested, ignoring the amused looks from some of the users." You can't just ask that here, what if someone overhears?!"

Ochaco blinked, a quick look around revealed no one was currently within hearing range.

"No one can hear?" Ochaco commented confused, until her eyes widened." Oh my, God. You like one of your Ghosts!"

If Izuku never wished more for the ground under him to swallow him whole, this was not the kind of conversation he wanted to talk about in front of the users. It didn't help that Daigorou was nearly on the floor with laughter.

"Can we please talk about something else?" Izuku pleaded to his friend, who just sighed and gave him a nod. Ochaco did look like she wanted to ask more questions though, so he gave himself a reminder that he might get ambushed later.

"Fine." Ochaco relented as the got into the bus." But don't think your getting out of this, remember, I am your wing-woman."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They arrived at the USJ after about thirty or so minutes, the building was huge. It was amazing seeing the domed roof glittering in the sun, but Izuku had bigger problems at the moment.
One of which was staring at him intently.
Izuku didn't know why Katsumi was staring at him, but whatever the reason, it was beginning to unnerve him. He shuffled out of the bus, trying to ignore the eyes of the second user. He couldn't deal with it right now, he would ask what the issue was later.
"Alright, this is USJ." Aizawa stated before turning to another person in a astronaut costume." Thirteen, please explain what we are going to do today."
The explanations wasn't too long and other then Ochaco's fangirling moment, it went pretty smoothly. Soon they all entered the building, the large doors sealing shut behind them. They made their way towards the plaza, a staircase down to a lower area just next to them.
Thirteen began talking about safety protocols, but Izuku's attention was on something behind Aizawa. The fountain behind his teacher and down the stairs was acting odd. The water seemed to be stopping and then running again, but it was the purple mist that was appearing that truly concerned him.
"Aizawa-sensei?" Izuku spoke up, not taking his eyes away from the fountain. the second, third, and fourth user were tense. The others were also concerned, dropping into a battle pose as if it would even help. They were intangible and invisible to everyone but him at the moment.
"What is it, problem child?" Aizawa asked glancing towards Izuku.
He swallowed, his currently yellow eyes stared at the growing spot by the fountain. He didn't respond, just pointed in the direction he was looking.
Aizawa turned with a sigh only to go stiff as a board, it was clear this wasn't meant to happen if the teacher's body language was to be believed. He watched his teacher take a step forward as people began flowing from the now large mist cloud, it was clear it was a portal of some kind.
"Thirteen, gather the students and leave." Aizawa ordered, the Rescue Hero giving a sharp nod before following the directions.
His teacher then prepared to jump down into the fray, but Izuku knew that he wouldn't be able to take down so many Villains. Most of them were Mutation types, which Aizawa couldn't erase with his Quirk. Not to mention the disgusting monster standing just behind a pale blue haired teen only a few years older then Izuku.
"Sensei!" Izuku cried out, making Aizawa freeze for a moment." Most of those Villains are Mutation types, you can defeat them all!"
Aizawa gave Izuku a grim look, before his capture scarf began floating with his hair. His teachers eyes glowing red.
"No Hero is a one trick pony, Midoriya." Aizawa stated before leaping down the stairs, leaving Izuku to either follow Thirteen or do something incredibly stupid.
He stood there for a moment, watching his teacher begin to take down the Villains. Despite the urging to leave coming from Yoichi and Nana, he couldn't tear his eyes away from Aizawa. He knew his teacher wouldn't last very long.
"Izuku, I swear if you go down there..." Yoichi began to speak, only for Izuku to make his mind up and begin running down the stairs.
The other users gave each other startled looks, before rushing after him.
Once Izuku got to the ground he began dodging through the Villains in order to reach Aizawa, the teacher in question now staring at Izuku with horror and panic. However he had a plan, a stupid and dangerous plan...but a plan nonetheless.
Once he reached Aizawa, he let One For All power up inside him. If he used his Quirk to attack the Villains it would be vigilantism, but Izuku wasn't going to use the Quirk to attack at all.
He felt his body begin to burn, the telling signs of his unknown power starting to activate. He normally would have had four more hours in his current form, but he was practically forcing One For All to destroy him quicker. It was his only chance to keep everyone safe, including Aizawa.
With his teeth clenched in pain, Izuku stepped forward towards the blue haired Villain a manic grin on his face.
"Nomu!" The blue haired Villain growled." Take care of the green haired brat!"
The creature from before moved to attack Izuku, but he didn't move and with a wink towards Aizawa, he exploded light a supernova.
Gold fire erupted from Izuku's arms, legs, and head. He made use of the power and directed it towards the Nomu, the manic grin from before not fading once. If Izuku was willing to admit it, he would say this power was almost addicting. It rushed through him like a river appearing in a desert in front of a lost family.
"IZUKU!" Yoichi voice cried out, but he could barely hear it right now as his vision was tunneled towards the Nomu and the Villain.
The Nomu was enveloped into the fire, it's body beginning to melt instantly. It seemed to have a Super-Regeneration Quirk, but not even that was fast enough to interfere with the fire that was licking at it's body.
The blue haired Villain went pale as Izuku's fire came to an abrupt stop, revealing the charred remains of the Nomu. The creature was very much dead, in fact it was little more then bones and ash at this point. The Villain turned to Izuku, who was now sporting an entirely different appearance then moment prior.
"What the hell are you?" The Villain hissed out." The Quirk registry stated you had Super Strength, not whatever this Quirk is!"
Izuku just smiled, still high from the rush of power he had felt moment earlier. He never even considered how dangerous revealing this information was, he could think straight and even the users seemed to be aware if how nervous they were was any indication.
"It's not a Quirk." Izuku purred." I don't even have Quirk Factor."
This seemed to both anger and scare the Villain to no end.
The blue haired Villain backed away slowly, like one would when faced with a rapid tiger or lion. He turned to the mist Villain that was standing off to the side, as if they were waiting for orders from the blue haired Villain.
"Kurogiri, portal us out of here." The blue haired Villain ordered and Kurogiri gave them a look, the mist Villains head tilting in confusion.
"I thought our aim was to kill All Might, Shigaraki?" Kurogiri asked and Shigaraki growled in anger.
"It was, until the weapon was destroyed by a first year student with a power that's apparently not even a Quirk" Shigaraki snapped and Kurogiri tensed, before giving a nod.
Before anyone could react, the Villains were sucked into the Mist. When it disappeared nothing was left, except the charred remains of the Nomu. Izuku turned towards Aizawa, the high from the power starting to seep away.
"I...Sensei...um, are you ok?" Izuku stammered, as his teacher stared at him with anger and shock. He was definitely getting detention, that was if he didn't get expelled for the stunt he just pulled.
"Izuku Midoriya!" Yoichi practically growled." I can't believe you did something so monumentally stupid!"
"S-Sorry, Yoichi!" Izuku squeaked out, interrupting Aizawa who had been about to speak.
"Problem Child, you do realize what you just did was dangerous, disobedient, and illegal, right?" Aizawa asked, his voice shaking with barely concealed rage.
Izuku winced at the words, but he hadn't technically done anything wrong. He had used his unknown power to destroy the Nomu, but only after it had attacked him. It wasn't a Quirk he used and it was technically self-defense.
"I didn't use a Quirk." Izuku stated, earning a look of disbelief from the users." I also didn't attack the Nomu first, I only reacted after it lunged at me."
"That doesn't mean you can go killing yourself more then necessary!" Yoichi shrieked, clearly annoyed.
"Problem Child..." Aizawa began, before trailing off with a deep sigh." We are having a long talk after this."
Chapter Text
Izuku was in trouble.
Not only had he been thoroughly scolded by his teachers and the police, he also was getting disappointed glares from Yoichi and a few of the other users. He had to admit that scaring Yoichi was not fun at all, he hadn't quite realized how badly scared the other man was until everything was already over.
"I'm sorry, Yoichi..." Izuku murmured softly, his currently blue hair shifting in front of his currently light grey eyes.
Yoichi didn't speak for a moment, before a deep sigh was released.
"I won't pretend it is alright, you basically committed suicide, Izuku." Yoichi stated with a frown." That will never be ok, but I accept your apology...just never do something like that again. Please."
Izuku winced at the tone the First user was speaking in, they were definitely not happy with him. He just hoped he could earn back their trust after a stunt like that, he couldn't bare the thought of Yoichi hating him. Even though logically he knew that was impossible for the First user, Yoichi didn't even hate All For One.
"I promise, Yoi-kun." Izuku replied with a sad smile.
Yoichi gave him a long look, before a small gentle smile escaped onto their face as well.
"Thank you." Yoichi murmured before turning to face Hikage who was hovering next to him, clearly worried as well. The Fourth user had sorta taken the responsibility of Izuku's health, due to feeling partially responsible for his condition.
"It is alright, First." Hikage stated with a nod." I will keep an eye out for Izuku."
Yoichi gave a nod to the Fourth user, before waving a goodbye to Izuku. Once the First user had gone, Izuku felt like something was missing. It was the same feeling he got whenever Yoichi wasn't in the same area as him, the longer the First user was gone...the more painful the feeling got.
He hadn't mentioned it to the users, but he assumed as long as Yoichi kept coming back often then there was no need to speak of his discomfort. For now at least, perhaps when the whole constantly dying issue was solved he would mention it.
"He likes you too you know." Hikage spoke after a moment or two." He simply thinks you wouldn't want to develop a relationship with what is essentially a dead man."
Izuku blinked, not having expected this sudden conversation about Yoichi and his feelings for the First user. He didn't exactly know how to respond to that, but he knew that Yoichi couldn't possible feel the same way about him.
"But I thought he liked the Second user..." Izuku said with a frown, earning a small chuckle from Hikage.
"He did, but after two hundred years in the core of One For All, they realized they were better off as friends." Hikage said with a shrug." Sometimes you realize you just don't have as much compatibility as you think you do."
"Oh." Izuku muttered, not really understanding.
"Listen you don't have to believe me, I am just telling you what I know." Hikage said with a shrug." Whether or not you act on that information is your decision."
With that the two fell silent, Izuku giving thought to what the Fourth user had said. Yoichi couldn't possibly like him, he was still just a scrawny nobody. He couldn't even use One For All without dying, which just proved he wasn't worthy of it. No matter what All Might said.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

For the next week Izuku had been feeling, empty. No matter what he did he always felt off, but he admitted it was likely due to the fact Yoichi was avoiding him. It hurt, more then he thought it would, was the First user really still angry at him for his stunt at the USJ?

Eventually, however it got to the point where Toshinori pulled him aside to talk, the blonde Hero clearly worried about him.

"Young Midoriya, are you ok?" Toshinori asked gently, concern written on his face.

"I don't know Yagi-san." Izuku admitted, which took a lot of control to do, he wasn't used to telling people how he felt at any given moment.

Beside him Hikage frowned in concern, the Fourth user looking between Izuku and Toshinori with a hesitant expression. Katsumi and Sokka were also in the room, having decided it was time to check on Izuku's progress.

"Is it about Yoichi?" Toshinori asked gently, making Izuku panic slightly. He did not want to have this conversation in front of his crush's ex.

"I...um, well...yeah..." Izuku stammered before finally giving in, ignoring the curious yet knowing look sent from Katsumi." He's been avoiding me, I am scared he's still angry with me about the USJ. What if he begins to hate me or decides I am not worthy of holding One For All?"

Katsumi's head snapped upwards at that, a deep frown settling on the Second user's face.

"Well, from what you told me, he seemed extremely worried about you." Toshinori said slowly." He might have been scared about the fact he almost lost you, so he's taking some time to gather his thoughts."

"But why would he be scared, I am just a Deku..." Izuku muttered, giving his mentor a genuinely confused look.

Toshinori didn't have an answer for that, but they also seemed to be containing their anger about something. With a sigh the Hero stood up and placed a hand on his shoulder, he tried to hide the flinch that it brought out of him. He'd gotten used to hiding his reactions since he met Toshinori, but sometimes they slipped through.

Sokka noticed the sudden movement however, if the way they narrowed their eyes was any indication. However the Third user didn't speak up, at least not yet.

"Just think about it alright, my boy?" Toshinori suggested softly." As much as you seem to not want to believe it, you do have people willing to be afraid for your safety. Including me, I promise."

With that the Hero left the room, leaving Izuku behind with Hikage, Katsumi, and Sokka.

"You flinched when he placed a hand on your shoulder." Sokka commented, making Katsumi and Hikage turn towards their comrade.

Izuku felt all the air leave his lungs at that comment, not knowing what to say in response to such a blunt statement. It was said in such a matter of fact tone, that Izuku knew he wouldn't be able to lie himself out of the situation.

"Nine...what was your life like before UA?" Katsumi asked, his voice clipped and guarded, however there was a hint of something else in their tone.

For a few moments Izuku didn't say a word, wondering if he could just ignore the question as if he never heard it. However, the users couldn't tell anyone what they heard, perhaps it would be safe to finally explain the things he had been holding in for years.

He swallowed, refusing to meet Katsumi's eyes.

"W-When I was four, my Quirk didn't come in." Izuku began slowly, his voice shaking." You know this part already, but after we went to the doctor and I was diagnosed Quirkless... Kacchan, he started to become meaner."

The three user's faces didn't show a hint of what they were feeling, so Izuku continued. Not noticing how Yoichi had slipped into the room from off to the side, their expression showing mild surprise.

"It started with teasing and remarks, then it turned to insults." Izuku said his voice only just above a whisper." When I was seven, it got worse. Kacchan and his friends, they started to use their Quirks on me."

"They did what?" Hikage growled out, his expression turning to one of cold anger. Even Katsumi and Sokka seemed to pale slightly at the information. Yoichi who had still not been noticed, simply stared at Izuku wide eyed with horror.

Izuku waited a moment for the Fourth user to calm themselves, before giving Hikage, Katsumi, and Sokka a small but sad smile.

"At first the Quirk attacks weren't common, but then Middle School started and...they became daily." Izuku said with a sigh." Not only that, but insults began to turn into comments about how useless, worthless, and weak I was. They weren't wrong, I really was all of those things. Until I met Yagi-san, of course."

Katsumi's red eyes were alight with fury, but they kept close reins on the emotion. Sokka however wasn't nearly as well controlled, the man was practically gritting his teeth in a snarl. Hikage however looked about ready to commit murder, which Izuku was honestly kinda scared about.

"It wasn't only my classmate's that contributed, my teachers and any adult I knew including police officers and Heroes joined in whenever they found out I was Quirkless." Izuku confessed with a wince." Last year was the worst, Kacchan told me to take a swan dive off the roof and hope for a Quirk in my next life. The teacher began...doing things to me...I almost considered doing what Kacchan said, even after having met All Might. I just wanted it to end, I was so tired of everything!"

The last words Izuku nearly shouted out, tears having begun to fall from his eyes as everything he'd held in since he was four began to surface with a surge. Sobs began wracking his body and he barely noticed when Hikage walked over, pulling him into a hug.

"Let it out, Izuku." Hikage muttered softly, giving a look towards Katsumi and Sokka. The two nodded hesitantly, before leaving the room.

Yoichi who had been silently watching immediately rushed forward to the Fourth user, worry and concern on their face. This hadn't been what any of them had expected, but now here they were...not sure of what to do about the situation.

How does one help someone who had been broken since their Quirk diagnosis?

Chapter 7: Feelings Of Fear

Chapter Text

It took two hours for Izuku to calm completely, Katsumi, Sokka, and Hikage staying with him the entire time. Yoichi also stayed behind, but left to fetch the other users when he had calmed down.

Izuku brushed some of his tears away with his sleeve, exhausted from crying for so long and in front of his crush too.

To say he was embarrassed was an understatement, but he wasn't thinking to much on that part right now. Katsumi had taken to guarding the doorway, even if there wasn't much point being a ghost. Sokka was chatting in a whisper with Hikage, both occasionally glancing towards Izuku with concern.

Eventually Yoichi returned with Daigorou, En, and Nana. All three had a worried expressions and Yoichi looked relieved to find he had stopped crying. He gave the First user a small smile as they walked over, sitting on his bed a little ways from him.

"How are you feeling?" Yoichi asked gently, his tone soft. Izuku gave his crush a small shrug, not feeling very well. Though that could have more to do with how his body was beginning to reach it's limit in his current form.

"I'm alright, just a little sore and tired." Izuku admitted with a sigh." Though that might be more to do with almost having reached my limit and my need to regenerate."

Yoichi nodded, but Hikage paused from his conversation with Sokka and turned to glance at the clock. Only to blink in confusion, clearly the Fourth user had noticed something and Izuku was curious on what that was.

"Hikage, what's up and why are you staring at the clock in confusion?" Izuku asked, causing the Fourth user to walk over to him and run a hand over his skin. It almost looked like they were doing a diagnosis, but they weren't a doctor and didn't have a Healing Quirk.

Yoichi also noticed what Hikage was doing, a confused frown spreading across their face.

"Hikage, what are you doing?" Yoichi asked, looking mildly concerned with Hikage's silence, especially to Izuku's question.

"His Regeneration ability should have gone off already, it's been going off like clockwork when no outside interference is added to the mix." Hikage muttered and Izuku blinked in surprise, wasn't that a good thing though. It meant he hadn't died yet, or was dying slower then he normally did.

"Isn't that good?" Daigorou asked his predecessor.

"Normally it would be, however I am unsure of just why it's doing this." Hikage admitted with a frown." I don't want the risk that he's run out of Regeneration's, we should probably get Recovery Girl in here a soon as we can."

"Oh Izuku, things just keeping happening to you, don't they?" Yoichi murmured softly, looking distraught.

Izuku's eyes widened at the tone of the First user, before he practically leapt across the bed and tackled them into a hug. Squeezing a tight as he could without making them uncomfortable.

"Don't you dare blame yourself, Yoi-kun!" Izuku exclaimed firmly." I won't ever regret taking One For All, it allowed me to meet you...and the other users as well. Your all like family to me, even after only spending a short while with you guys. I wouldn't trade it for the world, so don't blame yourself."

Izuku hugged Yoichi for a bit longer, before pulling back and giving the white haired ghost a wide smile. It was clear this hadn't been what the First user had expected, but it was also what they needed. Hikage and Katsumi shared a look, before nodding to one another.

"Yoichi, could you and Hikage meet me out in the hallway?" Katsumi asked and Yoichi turned to Izuku for permission, which he gave a nod in response. Then the three left the room, leaving a curious Izuku behind with the other users.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yoichi nervously exited the room, phasing through the door.
His heart was hammering in his chest, the hug having caused it speed up due to close proximity to the teen. He had to get his emotions under control, he had gone down this road before and it had only ended with him at Katsumi breaking up. Regardless of whether it had been mutual or not, it still hurt know his love for the Second user had faded so much with time.
He swallowed once the three of them stopped, before Hikage spoke. Their expression drawn into one of seriousness, letting Yoichi know exactly what kind of conversation they were planning on having.
"You like him don't you." Hikage said gently, the words taking the air out of Yoichi's lungs.
"I...I d-don't know what y-your talking about." Yoichi stammered as he tried desperately to avoid eye contact. Fear spiking inside him at the thought of his friends being horrified or disgusted by the fact he liked a fifteen year old when he was over two hundred years old.
"Don't think we don't see the way you look at him when you think he does see you, or they way you smile when talking about them." Katsumi added, their red eyes soft with understanding.
"I don't...It's not what it looks like, I swear!" Yoichi exclaimed, panic rising inside like and making him feel nauseous." He's just fifteen, it would be wrong and bad to have feelings for them...."
"Who are you trying to convince, us or yourself?" Katsumi asked, which took all the fight out of Yoichi's sail. Katsumi was right, who was he trying to even convince when it was obvious to his friends that he had it bad for the teen.
"I was like twice his age when I was killed, not to mention I am mentally two hundred or so years old...this isn't right, but I can't help it." Yoichi admitted, clenching his fists to his side." It's why I left Izuku for so long after he recovered from the USJ, what if something happens again. I don't know if I could handle that, losing him so soon."
"He would still be within One For All, you know this Yoichi." Hikage said and Yoichi sent the Fourth user a glare.
"What if he doesn't pass it down, then he would die and I'd never see him again!" Yoichi stated, his voice raising slightly." I would lose him, forever."
Katsumi and Hikage glanced at each other, before turning back towards Yoichi with grim expressions. Hikage sighed and moved towards the door of Yoichi's current room, before glancing backwards one more time.
"He likes you too you know." Hikage commented, making Yoichi's head snap upwards." He's just afraid you won't because he doesn't see himself as being worthy of that kind of love."
With that, Hikage phased through the door, leaving Katsumi and Yoichi alone in the hallway.
"Yoichi, you know...it's like just as hard for Izuku to accept and admit as it is for you." Katsumi said, a frown on their face." But denying your feelings will only hurt both you and Izuku, you have to tell him before it's too late."
With that Katsumi followed Hikage back into the room, leaving Yoichi alone and in deep thought about what his friends had said. He just couldn't make himself feel comfortable loving a minor romantically, but they were right. Denying these feelings was only gonna make things worse, he would need to decide what to do and soon.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Izuku looked up as the Hikage and then Katsumi entered the room, both of them looking mildly frustrated. He frowned in worry, but ignored them knowing they would tell him what had happened or what they talked about.

"Daigorou, can you tell me another story about your time as a Pro?" Izuku asked the Fifth user, curious about their time as Lariat.

Daigorou gave a laugh, before nodding and settling down in a chair across the room. Hikage having once again disappeared, to where Izuku didn't know. The Fifth user began telling him the story of how he had met En, the Sixth user interjecting whenever a mistake was made or if they remembered something differently.

Izuku paid close attention, eager to learn as much as he could about the Hero and how their version of being a Hero differed from today's version. Apparently back in Daigorou's time the idea of Vigilante's were much more accepted then now, it made Izuku curious on what happened to change that.

When he asked, Nana had stated during her time the amount of Vigilante's had gone up so far that it was becoming more of a hindrance then help for the Heroes.

He supposed that was a fair point, considering Vigilante's often had less skills and resources then Heroes. Mainly due to not having the funding and resources to train properly, which Hero schools could provide but it was often too expensive back then.

Izuku wondered if Yoichi would have been considered a Vigilante, he hadn't heard of any other fights the man had. It made him curious, he didn't know much about Yoichi's past and what lead the man down the road they took. What made them tick, why did they do what they did, and did they know their Quirk would become so big when they passed it on?

He glanced at the door, promising to ask these questions one day.

Chapter Text

"So you haven't had to regenerate?" Recovery Girl asked and Izuku shook his head.

"Nope, not since the USJ..." Izuku admitted, shifting slightly." Hikage is worried that I might not have any regeneration left."

Recovery hummed, before grabbing a scanner and running it over my body slowly. The beeps of the machine making him feel a tad nervous. What if he was going to die because of this, but then again he should have died permanently if he had run out of regeneration's.

After a moment the scanning stopped and Recovery Girl let out a deep sigh, but didn't say anything immediately. She walked over jotted something down on her notes before walking back over and taking a seat next to his hospital bed. Her expression revealing nothing for a moment, before small smile escaped.

"Look like due to your use of One For All at the USJ, your body has built a better resistance to it." Recovery Girl stated." You should only have to regenerate once every twelve hours now."

"My threshold has increased?" Izuku questioned, turning to look at the users who were currently with him. Yoichi, Hikage, and Daigorou looked relieved at the news, Yoichi even more so if Izuku was reading them correctly.

He beamed at the thought of Yoichi being so happy for his better health, it warmed him to know the First user was so invested into keeping him happy and healthy. Hikage shot him a knowing look, making Izuku blush slightly. He wished the others would stop teasing him about his stupid crush, even though they said that Izuku's feelings were reciprocated he was still unsure of it.

What if they were wrong and he embarrassed himself in front of Yoichi, how would he continue existing if that happened. No, if Yoichi like him then they would tell him and they could move on from there, he wouldn't make the first move and risk his current relationship with the First user.

"Yup, it also appears you can now use around five percent of One For All without speeding up the damage." Recovery Girl added, before giving him a hard look." I forbid you under any circumstances other then an immediate emergency to use more then five percent, understood?"

"Yes Recovery Girl." Izuku nodded accepting the terms." I don't think Yoi-kun would like it much if I kept killing myself over stupid things."

Yoichi shot Izuku a small glare, but there was no heat in it.

"Ah, is your friend here right now?" Recovery Girl asked, glancing around as if trying to spot the First user and Izuku nodded in response." I want you to keep an eye out for Izuku, the boy is gonna be the death of Toshinori if he keeps hurting himself. Thank you for watching over him, Izuku is like a grandson to me."

Izuku nearly laughed at the expression on the First users face, they clearly weren't used to being directly addressed. Even if people knew they existed, it made it all the more funny when they were addressed.

"I promise." Yoichi stated and Izuku turned to Recovery Girl and gave her a small nod.

"He said that he promises to keep me safe." Izuku translated and Recovery Girl gave a satisfied nod, happy with Yoichi's words.

"Good, perhaps then you'll actually manage to stop dying." Recovery Girl grumbled as she looked over the last few things on her clipboard." Alright, you should be free to leave, just don't push yourself."

"Thanks, Recovery Girl." Izuku said and slid off the bed, excited to finally be leaving the area.

Recovery Girl just rolled her eyes and made a shooing motion, making Izuku laugh before he turned and left the room. The three users currently sticking with him following behind closely, Yoichi almost directly next to him.

"So, now what?" Daigorou asked as they walked through one of the many hallways of UA.

Izuku quickly looked at his schedule, noting there was only one more class left. It was English or Present Mic's class, though the Hero wasn't strict with how one does their work. He could ask to do the work as homework instead as he had just gotten out of the Hospital, so he changed direction to the Voice Hero's classroom.

"I got English, but I'm gonna ask to complete today's work as Homework." Izuku informed the Fifth user.

"That's smart, after all you should be resting." Yoichi commented and Izuku let out a annoyed groan. If there was one thing that both made Izuku love the First user more and get annoyed at the same time...it was the constant over-protectiveness.

"I was just resting for literal days in a Hospital, Yoi-kun." Izuku stated in exasperation." I am doing it more to get some fresh air, being kept inside for so long is starting to...feel weird."

The users glanced at each other, but Izuku ignored them as he pushed the door to Present Mic's classroom open. The teacher raising their head from the desk as he walked in, before they let a grin spread across their face.

"Ah, Midoriya!" Present Mic exclaimed cheerfully." Glad to see your alright after you little stunt a few days ago."

"Hi Mic-sensei." Izuku greeted the hyper teacher." I was wondering if I could do my work as Homework for today, I wanna get some fresh air after being inside the Hospital for so long."

Present Mic nodded, before reaching down into a drawer and pulling out a book. He then handed the book over and gave him a smile, explaining how his job was to read it. Once it was read then he could bring it back and they would give him the next part of his assignment.

After saying goodbye Izuku headed out of the classroom towards the field that Aizawa had held the Quirk assessment test on his first day. Once he was outside he found a tree and sat down, leaning against it. A small smile stretched across his face, looking upwards toward the sky to see a couple of clouds slowly passing above.

"Izuku, could I have a moment of your time?" Yoichi asked, giving the other two users a look that implied he wanted them to leave for a bit. Hikage didn't even say anything, retreating out hearing range to look at a nearby flower bed.

Daigorou raised an eyebrow, but shrugged and followed his predecessor example.

"What is it you wanted to talk about, Yoi-kun?" Izuku asked curiously, his heart beating rapidly in his chest as he was essentially alone with his crush.

"I just wanted to ask you how you feel about all of us...predecessors." Yoichi questioned, looking much more nervous then that questioned should have made them. Izuku suspected there was a reason behind the question, but he just shrugged the suspicion off for the time being.

"Well...starting for the most recent, I would have to say Yagi-san is most certainly a father figure to me." Izuku admitted softly, earning a small chuckle from the First user." Um, Nana is my Grandma according to mom, so I guess I can see her as my grandparent figure. En is like an older brother and Daigorou is kinda like an fun Uncle."

"Yes, I can see how Daigorou seems like that." Yoichi admitted, snickering slightly as he looked over to see the other two users arguing about something. Likely flowers if the way Hikage kept gesturing to the plants was any indication.

"As for Hikage, I think I see him as either an Uncle or a Grandpa figure." Izuku confessed, giggling slightly at how energetically the Fourth user was arguing with Daigorou." Sokka is complicated, I think I see him as family...but I can't really put a title to it."

"That's pretty accurate considering their personality." Yoichi admitted." I was the same with Sokka, for some reason I felt a family connection with them...but there was no sure way identifying what it was exactly."

Izuku nodded, that was pretty much how it was with the Third user. They were such an odd enigma, most of the time Izuku was good at telling which people he knew fit in which family spots of his heart. It was strange knowing he considered someone family, but not what role they played in his life.

"For Katsumi, I would say likely a father figure...not like Yagi-san though." Izuku stated, thinking carefully." More like Katsumi is the strict father figure and Yagi-san is the father figure that spoils me too much."

Yoichi let out a bark of laughter, their green eyes sparkling with amusement.

"Oh that's priceless, I have to tell Katsumi that when I see him next." Yoichi exclaimed and Izuku ducked his head in embarrassment, though it was nice seeing the First user so happy and carefree.

Eventually Yoichi stopped laughing, though the mirth in his eyes didn't fade one bit. Izuku found that he loved Yoichi's green eyes the most when they were filled with positive emotions, it almost appeared as if they were glistening like emeralds. The comparison made Izuku blush slightly, though not as badly has he had in the past.

"That's everyone, I guess." Izuku mumbled with a shrug, but Yoichi shook their head.

"You forgot one more." Yoichi said and Izuku gave a look of confusion." You didn't tell me what role I play, or how you think of me."

Izuku froze, wondering how he can play this off. He didn't think of Yoichi in a familial way and even though Hikage told him that his feelings were returned he refused to just confess, how was he gonna do this without potentially hurting the First users feelings. He decided to use vague descriptions of his feelings instead, let them decipher as they wanted.

"I don't really have a way of explaining it." Izuku said slowly." You feel safe to be around, I like when your happy or you laugh, and I just...like being around you more then anyone else."

"Oh." Yoichi murmured softy, their eyes wide with an emotion Izuku was having a bit of an issue identifying." Thank you for telling me, Izu-kun..."

Izuku blinked in confusion, but nodded anyways. Wondering why the man seemed so flustered at his response, did he say something wrong or offend them? He shook his head, he couldn't worry about that, at least not right now. Still the thought nagged at him relentlessly as he leaned back against the tree, closing his eyes for a bit.

Chapter 9: Cat's And Kisses

Notes:

So I have this cross posted on a few sites and I got a three way tie on both Physical-Altercation, Gender-Bending, and Mpreg...so, I am going fuse the first two into one thing(A new ability of his Regeneration)...and instead of Mpreg it will be Normal-Preg...however the third one won't happen for a while...I need to get the next major plot point finished at LEAST...

Plus they only JUST started their relationship and it would be weird.

Chapter Text

"Izuku!" Yoichi called from where they was standing under tree Izuku was currently climbing, he was nearing the top now." I honestly think you should come down now, this is extremely unsafe!"

Izuku rolled his eyes, exasperation filling him up inside. He stared upwards and winced, the cat he had seen stuck in the tree only ten minutes ago was climbing even higher out of fear and the branches were getting less stable. Yoichi was probably right, he should come down.

However the fear in the cats yellow eyes made his determination grow, the poor thing was terrified and he couldn't just leave it there. He reached upwards, gasping as the branch wobbled dangerously. Swallowing he took a deep breath and reached once more, slower then the previous time.

"Hey, come on." Izuku cooed gently, not looking directly into the cat's eyes knowing that was what predators did." Shhh, it's alright...I won't hurt you, little one."

The cat's ears went back and it hissed, it's teeth flashing and it's paw lashed out scratching his hand. That was what he needed, lightning fast he grabbed the cat's paw and soon the feline was in his arms squirming. Now he just needed to get down, he glanced downwards and paled. He was easily fifty feet up the oak tree, more then enough height to cause real harm or even death...depending on how he landed.

Yoichi was staring at him from the ground, their green eyes wide with concern and face pale as a sheet of paper. Standing next to them was Hikage and Daigorou, who had come over from their flower argument when they noticed him climbing the tree.

"Izuku, please come down!" Yoichi pleaded and Izuku gave them a nod, before beginning to make his way down. However he had miscalculated a step and placed his foot on a branch that couldn't support his weight, the last thing he heard before beginning the fall was the crack of wood.

He wrapped himself protectively around the cat as he fell, his back facing the ground. He collided with the the grass below, a sickening crack echoing through the entire field outside UA. Everything felt soar and he noted the telltale signs of his body glowing, he let the cat go and it ran away out of sight.

"Izuku!" Yoichi called out rushing over, worry coating their words. They froze a few feet away as they noticed the golden flames beginning to lick at his body.

Izuku struggled to his feet, giving Yoichi, Hikage, and Daigorou an apologetic smile and preceded to burst into a golden blaze. He had gotten so used to this lately, it barely even made him flinch anymore. It went on for a few moments, then stopped just as quickly as it started.

He blinked his eyes, groaning slightly and feeling something weighing his back down a little and turned to take a look. On his back was a pair of large green wings, similar to Hawks wings except for the color. His jaw dropped in complete disbelief, the appendages moved when the thought about them doing so.

"What in the actual..." Izuku trailed off in awe, before turning to face his three observers.

Yoichi was giving him a wide eyes stare, awe and concern in their green eyes. As for Hikage and Daigorou, they just looked completely shocked silent. Their mouths slightly agape, which was fairly amusing considering.

"Y-You have wings." Yoichi stated simply, shaking their head and looking again." You have actual full blown wings, how the hell did that happen?"

Izuku glanced at his new appendages, before look towards Yoichi once more. He gave a shrug, not really understanding what was happening himself. The sound of footsteps running brought his attention to the side, Aizawa was slowing into a jog as they got to his location.

"Midoriya, what was that?" Aizawa asked with a frown." We saw your regeneration, but we didn't know the cause....are those, wing?!"

Izuku chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Yes?" Izuku responded, but it was more like a question then a statement." I fell out of a tree, regenerated and grow two new appendages."

"You fell out of a tree?" Aizawa questioned looking so done with the situation and he'd only just got here." Problem child, what am I going to do with you?"

"Sir, it was because a cat got stuck in the tree, I didn't want to just leave it there." Izuku admitted with guilty expression." It looked scared, I didn't think...I just acted and by the time my brain caught up, I was already half way up."

Aizawa closed their eyes, before letting out a deep sigh and pinching the bridge of their nose in exasperation. He knew he'd get in trouble, but at least the cat was alright. He just wanted to know where the wings came from, this kind of thing hadn't ever happen before.

"I am not even going to comment on that, let's get you inside to see Recovery Girl." Aizawa stated, giving a wave to follow him." Please attempt to not repeat this kind of incident in the future, Midoriya."

"Yes, Aizawa-sensei." Izuku replied, wincing slightly at the teachers tone. He was most certainly in trouble, not to mention he would likely be getting scolded by Yoichi again.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"The test show that your wings are made of the same energy that flows through you." Recovery Girl explained." They aren't attached in the physical sense, they look and act like their attached...but your bone structure hasn't changed at all. This is impossible, I don't know how to explain this."
Izuku was stunned, he moved a wing by extending it and folding it once more. He could feel the wing as if it was any arm or leg, how could it not be attached more then surface level. He felt his muscles moving with the new appendages, it even looked like his muscles were moving.
"Is this going to affect him negatively?" Aizawa asked and Recovery Girl shook her head." No, this it isn't, but that being said...his wings won't go away even if he Regenerates again. They are there to stay, whether he likes it or not."
He frowned slightly, as cool as having wings was...he still needed to learn how to use them to fly and fight with them. The only other person recorded with feathered wings like his was Hawks and the number three Hero was way to busy to lend a hand in training his new ability.
Aizawa seemed to realize the same issue, because they just looked at Recovery Girl in annoyance.
"What about his training?" Aizawa questioned." He has no one to tell him how to fight using wings, no Heroes in the Japan have feathered wings other then Hawks and they are extremely busy being number three Hero."
"Well, I don't know what to say." Recovery Girl said with a shrug." I can confirm him healthy, but that's as far as I can help you with this. You can try talking to Toshinori about this, he is the number one Hero. Perhaps he can pull some strings and get Hawks to come over, he does have the influence for it."
Izuku hadn't thought of that, of course he remembered his mentor was the number one Hero...but he hadn't thought of using that to get him training. It seemed like such an abuse of power, they should at least ask nicely first, right?
"Um, I would rather ask Hawks first, if that's alright with you, Aizawa-sensei?" Izuku asked softly, glancing towards Yoichi distractedly....the man looked gorgous with sunlight hitting him in just the right way.
"I will see what I can do, Midoriya." Aizawa said before turning to Recovery Girl." Thanks for the check up, I will attempt to keep the problem child out of trouble."
"See to it that you do." Recovery Girl said with an eye roll, before returning to her work and leaving Izuku to deal with Aizawa's disappointed expression.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

That night Izuku sat on his bed, Yoichi sitting in front of him. None of the other One For All users were in the room, most electing to guard outside in case of threats. It didn't seem neccessary, but he didn't bother arguing with them. He was happy they cared about him enough to want to protect him, even if Katsumi was a little more rough around the edges.

"Izuku, there is something I need to tell you." Yoichi began as they took a deep breath, he tilted his head in curiosity.

He wondered what the First user wanted to tell him, why did they looks so scared and worried. It couldn't be bad, right? He scooted closer to the white haired man, giving them a worried frown. He noted that Yoichi's eyes had widened slightly, but he was more concerned with helping his friend.

"I won't think badly of you, I promise." Izuku said firmly, giving the First user his trademark Cinnamon Roll smile.

"Izuku, you can't promise me that." Yoichi murmured softly, looking the most vulnerable he'd ever seen them since he first met the man." I have feelings for you, not platonic feelings...I fallen for you, romantically. I understand if you want me to leave and never show my face again, it would be more then what I deserve for this, but..."

Izuku cut Yoichi off, entwining his hand with theirs and giving them a wide smile. Hikage had been right, they really did feel the same way. The thought made Izuku feel like he was on cloud nine, Yoichi loved him. They actually loved him and that was the most exhilarating feeling he had ever felt in his life.

"Can...we...can we kiss, Yoi-kun?" Izuku asked the older man shyly and Yoichi's eyes widened a little, they swallowed in what appeared to be nervousness. Izuku hoped he didn't move to fast for them, but he wanted Yoichi to be his first kiss.

Yoichi gave a small nod and Izuku crawled onto the man's lap, before pressing his lips against theirs. It started slowly, he was sure what to do and was pretty sure he would have messed it up. Thankfully Yoichi took control, gently guiding him.

They tasted like peppermint and their lips were soft, he closed his eyes and brought his hands to Yoichi's shoulders while they brought theirs to his hair. His heart was hammering in his chest and his body felt like it was on fire, but all to soon it ended. Izuku still needed to breath and they broke apart, his breaths coming in small gasps.

"I think I want to do that again." Izuku mumbled, his face scarlet and Yoichi gave a small chuckle and pressed their forehead to his.

"I think you need to get some sleep, you have a big day at UA tomorrow." Yoichi responded and Izuku couldn't help but feel disappointed." Don't worry, my little Phoenix...we have more then enough time to work things out and explore our relationship."

Chapter 10: Testing The Waters

Notes:

Last fluffy chapter, before the plot picks up again!

Chapter Text

Izuku woke up slowly, the sun filtering into his room. He immediately noted Yoichi was laying beside him, their arms wrapped around his middle protectively as if they were worried he'd disappear or something. He blushed a little, remembering what had happen the previous night with the kiss.

Yoichi said they had fallen in love with him, of all people they had fallen for him. The thought made Izuku's heart soar and he let out a large smile, before turning around and snuggling into the other man. The movement must have woken Yoichi who had likely been awake due to being a ghost in technicality, after all the dead don't need sleep.

"Morning, my little Phoenix." Yoichi murmured softly as the pressed a kiss against his green hair, but Izuku just groaned not wanting to get out of bed just yet.

"Five more minutes, Yoi-kun." Izuku grumbled and nuzzled into the man's chest, his arms clinging to them as if they were a life-line. He heard a huff of amusement from the First user, before phased through him and landed just beside the bed.

"Afraid not, little Phoenix." Yoichi said apologetically." It's time to get ready for UA."

Izuku grumbled, but got up and began getting ready for the day. He was almost ready to leave when Hikage stepped in and gave the two a knowing look, a small smirk on the Fourth user's face. He blushed fiercely and ducked behind Yoichi, hoping to avoid Hikage's potential teasing.

Thankfully Hikage just informed them that nothing happened during the night, before leaving and likely going to tell the others of the development in his and Yoichi's relationship.

By the time he got to UA, he was practically beaming with a skip in his step. He wished he could hold hands with Yoichi, but he was in public and people would either look at him strange or start asking questions. Though he supposed he could explain it off as Yoichi having an invisibility Quirk like Hagakure, but Yoichi couldn't actually speak to anyone other then Izuku. Not counting the past One For All users, of course.

"Yoi-kun, what do we tell Yagi-san?" Izuku asked his new boyfriend." He's like a dad to me, I am slightly nervous about their reaction."

Yoichi paused and gave him a small reassuring smile, their green eyes sparkling like emeralds in the sunlight. It took his breath away, he had it bad for them, didn't he?

"I am sure he will be understand, little Phoenix." Yoichi replied, leaning over and pressing a kiss to his forehead. Izuku blushed, but nodded in acceptance at their words.

"Ok, plus even if they don't, I still have you." Izuku said and Yoichi's eyes widened a tad, before dusting of pink spread across their cheeks and ear tips. Izuku decided he really liked seeing Yoichi blush, it was a very nice experience.

"Yes, you do." Yoichi murmured and the entered the class and Izuku sat down, Aizawa getting out of his yellow sleeping bag and beginning to speak.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After class, the first thing Izuku did was tackle Yoichi, finally able to give the other man a hug without getting strange looks. Sure, UA for the most part knew about his ghosts, but it didn't change the way of how some looked at him like he was insane. It hurt, but he knew it was just a fact of life, some people just weren't open minded.
"Yoi-kun!" Izuku exclaimed, feeling happy he was able to spend more time with the First user.
"God, you two are so....cheesy." Sokka grumbled, the Third user giving Izuku and Yoichi an exasperated look." Just get a room, it was bad enough dealing with this when you and Katsumi were together. Do I you really need to torture me further, what did I ever do to you?"
Izuku and Yoichi exchanged looks, before bursting into laughter. Katsumi gave Sokka an offended expression, but otherwise didn't comment or deny the words. He smiled at the One For All users, happy he had such a wonderful family...even if it came unexpectedly with a new Quirk.
"Hey Izuku, what are you doing?" Ochaco asked and Izuku turned to look at his friend, giving a small smile.
"Nothing, just hanging out with my Ghost family and my boyfriend." Izuku said with a mischievous glint in his currently pale green eyes. His wings fluffed up, the feathers trembling in mirth.
"Oh, you finally confessed?" Ochaco questioned and Izuku shook their head in amusement.
"Nope, Yoi-kun confessed...he felt the same way!" Izuku responded with a wink towards said First user, the man's ears tinting a light pink.
"Aww, that's so cute!" Ochaco squealed with a grin." So...has anything, interesting happened in your relationship?"
Izuku blinked at that not understand what she was talking about, but a look at Yoichi's face which had gone completely red indicated it was something embarrassing. He tilted his head for a moment thinking, before his own eyes widened in realization. His face feeling like it was burning and he started spluttering helplessly, ignoring Katsumi and Sokka's snickering.
"Oh my, no!" Izuku exclaimed." Me and Yoichi haven't done that, not yet!"
"Yet?" Ochaco teased, causing Izuku to flush even more, he was mortified that his friend was teasing him about something like this. Sure he wouldn't be opposed to the idea, but it was completely up to Yoichi.
"Please make this stop." Yoichi pleaded, covering their face with his hands.
"Ochaco, I think you should stop teasing us, before Yoi-kun ends up combusting." Izuku said giving an amused look towards his boyfriend. She pouted, but complied and soon they were chatting about other things, but Izuku still held Yoichi's hand the entire time.
Eventually the two parted and Izuku went home again, placing his bag on his bedroom desk and laying flat on his back with a sigh. It had been a stressful day, for some reason he couldn't concentrate on his lessons.
He nearly jumped out of his skin when Yoichi appeared above him with a mischievous smirk on their face, making Izuku's entire face turn scarlet. The older mans hands were on both sides of his body, their face hovering mere inches away from his. His heart sped up and his blood seemed to roar, if he was looking in mirror he was almost positive his eyes would have been dilated.
"Y-Yoi-kun?" Izuku squeaked out, his voice high and the white haired man leaned down to give him a kiss.
The kiss was gentle and soft, just like the last time and Izuku's mind numbed and all thoughts went out the window. He wrapped his green wings around Yoichi, accidentally bringing them closer to him. Their chest was now practically pressed against him, thought Izuku didn't mind at all.
A small growled escaped Yoichi, making Izuku's eyes blink in surprise. Yoichi just kissed him in a little more needy way, making Izuku groaned slightly.
"Mine." Yoichi whispered into his ear and whatever self control he had fled him and Izuku just felt himself beginning to fall apart, his wings twitching. This wouldn't be a normal night, not if how things were progressing was any indication.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Izuku woke up next to Yoichi once again, embarrassingly sore. He wrapped his wings around them, protectively and closed his eyes once again. He knew it was a little early to jump the gun like they just had, but he also knew he didn't regret it one bit. He had been surprised how gentle the First user had been, even though it was clear to him that they wanted to go much rougher.

Yoichi shifted, their green eyes blinking open and gave Izuku small smile.

If Izuku hadn't been sure before, he was positive now, he loved Yoichi more then life itself and it might have happened quickly, but he knew it was real. He didn't know how he knew that, but it was something like pull towards the man. As if he was just meant to be by their side forever, it was almost overwhelming.

"I love you, Yoi-kun." Izuku murmured softly, burying his head in his boyfriends chest. Yoichi gave him a small smile, looking at him with the softest smile he'd ever received from another person.

"I love you two, my little Phoenix." Yoichi responded gently, his arms wrapped around Izuku and pulling him closer to them." I will make sure you are safe forever, I promise."

It was the weekend, he didn't have to go to UA and that meant he could lay here with Yoichi for a while. He was about to attempt to fall asleep again, but Hikage had decided it was time to check on them and as much as he cared about the Fourth user...he wasn't above murdering them again.

Hikage took one look at him and Yoichi, before a amused smirk spread across their face.

"I see you two had some...fun, last night." Hikage commented and Yoichi shot the other man a glare, looking mildly annoyed with the Fourth user.

"Go away, I want to spend time with my little Phoenix." Yoichi grumbled and Hikage let out a sharp laugh, their black eyes glittering with mirth. Izuku had a feeling that the Fourth user wasn't going to leave anytime soon, so he gave a sigh and unfurled from Yoichi.

"I should probably go take a shower, to um...clean up a little." Izuku said before getting his things and walking to the bathroom. He had a feeling Hikage and Yoichi would want to have a conversation, likely about what the Fourth user just walked into.

Chapter 11: Slowing Down

Notes:

Sorry it took me so long to get this out! Thanks for being patient!

Chapter Text

"Don't you think your jumping the gun a bit?" Hikage hissed as soon as Izuku was out of sight, causing Yoichi to wince slightly.

"I..." Yoichi couldn't find an argument, just staring downwards in shame and realizing that his friend was right. He'd been so eager to show Izuku that he loved them, that they deserved the love...but he might have gotten ahead of himself a bit.

"Yoichi...I know you wouldn't do anything to hurt Izuku intentionally." Hikage stated with a sigh." But you need to take things slow, this is Izuku's first relationship and you haven't been with anyone since Second...which was nearly a hundred and fifty years ago."

Yoichi just sighed, knowing Hikage was right...no matter how much it hurt to force himself to contain his love for the teen that became his Ninth successor. The sound of the shower turning off cause him to look towards the bathroom door, before Izuku walked out his green wings damp and pressed against his back.

His eyes widened at the sight of the teen, swallowing before turning back towards Hikage and gave them a small nod. He would try and take things at a slower pace, even if it would take some effort on his end.

"Is everything alright, Yoi-kun?" Izuku asked and Yoichi shot his boyfriend a small smile.

"Everything is fine, my little Phoenix." Yoichi responded, going up to the teen and giving them a hug.

He noticed Izuku's wings unfurl and wrap around him protectively, making him feel a fond warmth flood his chest. Izuku was always looking out for others, even if it was at their own expense and he hoped he would be able to protect them.

Hikage gave him one more look, before leaving him alone with Izuku.

"Izuku, I think we may have...gone a little fast with are relationship." Yoichi started, swallowing nervously." I love you, but your only fifteen...perhaps we should wait before we do this again, it was my fault really and-"

He was cut off by kiss, eyes widening as his boyfriend smiled sweetly at him as if they didn't just cut off his very important words.

"It wasn't your fault Yoi-kun." Izuku stated firmly." I understand, we...took things pretty fast and although I enjoyed it...I am certain it wasn't the smartest decision I've ever made. I am not upset with you, I understand and agree with you."

Yoichi let out a breath of relief, before wincing as Izuku's feathers and skin began to glow the tell tail gold color. They were changing once more, he took several steps back as he wasn't positive the explosive gold fire wouldn't hurt him. He'd never actually been that close to it, always a few meters or so away.

He watched as Izuku changed, leaving his boyfriend with golden colored hair that was dead straight and bright blue eyes. They looked almost like Toshinori's son, amusingly enough. If you ignored the large green wings that didn't appear to have changed color unlike the rest of them.

"Well, I suppose you really are All Might Jr. now." Yoichi commented and gestured to the nearest mirror in which Izuku looked into, before blushing furiously.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Izuku stared at his new appearance, Yoichi hadn't been lying...they looked like a mini Toshinori and it made him feel strangely, happy. He'd always considered the blonde number one Hero his father figure, even if he never dared to tell them that. His own father hadn't been in his life since he was four and his mom wouldn't tell him why.
She always said it was too dangerous, but that didn't mean he wasn't curious about it. The one thing she did tell him about his father was that they also had green hair, but that was it and it wasn't much to go off of. Plus his hair wasn't green anymore, nor was his eyes which he missed quite a lot most of the time.
"I think...I like this form." Izuku admitted softly, earning a fond chuckle from Yoichi.
He turned to give his boyfriend a grin, before paling as he noticed the time. He was really late for class, he unfurled his wings and took off knowing that Yoichi would just appear where he was when he landed. Technically using his wings was consider breaking the no Quirk usage in public law...but he didn't really have much of a choice right now, not if he wanted to get to UA before Aizawa came into class.
He flapped his wings, for a moment enjoying the wind passing over the feathers. Before turning slightly and diving down towards the building of UA, only then realizing he had no idea how to land. He winced before attempting to slow down and accidentally crashing into a tree.
Thankfully he didn't seem to have to regenerate, but he definitely broke a couple bones in this process. He winced as he heard several teachers run up to him, turning to spot Aizawa, Toshinori, Recovery Girl, and Present Mic.
"Hey, hows it going...hows life?" Izuku asked casually, wincing slightly in pain and earning an annoyed and exasperated look from the four Heroes.
"I am going to put you on a leash one of these days, Midoriya." Aizawa stated and made Izuku chuckle nervously.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Fourteen broken bones, most of which in your legs due to your horrible landing skills." Recovery Girl scolded with a huff." Nedzu's contacting Hawks, perhaps that bird brain can at least teach you how to control your new appendages."

Izuku ducked his head in embarrassment, he was going to be scolded by Yoichi and the other users for this stunt as well. He was not looking forward to his overprotective boyfriend and Quirk family telling him what he already knew. He had been stupid to fly when he really didn't know how to use the wings in the first place, he had just been panicked about being late that he forgot.

"Sorry, Recovery Girl." Izuku mutter softly." It won't happen again, it was a mistake made due to my panic."

Recovery Girl gave him a hard look, before nodding and waving for him to get out of the medical bay.

Once he left he made his way to class, knowing Aizawa would have an announcement about something today. He was mildly curious as too what, but didn't even bother asking once he walked into class to see Aizawa's annoyed expression. He would just wait, nothing was worth getting killed by Aizawa during class.

"Now that everyone is here, we can get started." Aizawa drawled, making Izuku wince slightly." If you thought the fight was over, you'd be wrong."

Izuku tensed slightly at that, wondering if the Villain's were gonna come back. Yoichi was next to him and so was the other One For All users, hovering almost protectively around him.

"In two weeks, you'll be participating in the Sport's Festival." Aizawa declared and Izuku frowned, still not enjoying those stupid deceptions that his teacher was so fond of." This means you have two weeks to train yourself to your limit and prepare for the events that will occur."

Two weeks, to prepare for one of the biggest events that will be on live television?! How was he supposed to train himself that much in only two weeks, not to mention he could barely use One For All without triggering a regeneration. He didn't think he could ask the One For All users to use their Quirk through him, since he knew they would want him to do it with his own merit and that only left his wings.

He couldn't control them and he had a feeling Hawks wouldn't have time to train him how to fly or fight with them before the Sports Festival.

With a whine of pain he let his forehead slam into the desk he was sitting at, knowing he was going to flunk this entire Festival. This was a disaster, all he was going to prove was how much of a failure he was. He would be laughing stalk of the entire school and Japan, he'd never be able to walk down the street without someone laughing at him.

"Izuku, your being a tad dramatic..." Ochaco said from her seat not to far away from him." I'm sure you'll do fine, plus...even if you can't use your Quirks, this could be an opportunity to show everyone that Quirkless people can still be Heroes!"

Izuku froze at that, before frowning slightly in thought. His friend was right, perhaps he should ask Aizawa for hand to hand combat lessons during the two weeks, he could prove a lot and he could even get something to tie down his wings so he wouldn't be "cheating" with the whole Quirkless fighting aspect.

"That's a brilliant idea Ochaco!" Izuku exclaimed, standing up with a determined expression on his face." I'll prove to people I can win the Festival without using any Quirks at all, even if I need to wear Quirk suppressing cuffs temporarily!"

Ochaco beamed slightly at the praise, nodding in amusement and happiness.

"That's the spirit!" Ochaco chirped, before sighing." I will have to train pretty hard though, my weight limit needs to be increased."

"You'll do fine too, Ochaco." Izuku stated still happy with the plan he had going for him." You are already pretty good with your Quirk. Plus your weight limit is pretty decent anyways...you don't have to do much to make it impressive!"

Chapter 12: Relaxing Before The Festival

Chapter Text

Izuku stared at the Quirk suppressing cuff, nervously glancing towards Yoichi and hoping to god that this wouldn't cause the man to disappear. He didn't think he would be able to handle it if he had to spend just over two weeks without them, perhaps he'd developed a codependency on them...

"It's alright, Izu." Yoichi murmured softly, pressing a kiss to the top of his head and giving him a soft smile." Even if you aren't able to see us, we'll still be here with you until you take the cuffs off...I promise."

Izuku smiled, before taking a deep breath and placing the cuffs on and hearing the click of them activating. They were more or less modified to look like bracelets, which meant he didn't look like he'd just escaped a jail cell or something. He looked back up and nearly passed out with relief that Yoichi and the other One For All users were still standing there like usual, which made a smile stretch across his face.

"It worked and your still here!" Izuku exclaimed, before rushing over and hugging his boyfriend happily." I am so relieved I don't have to train without you now..."

Yoichi chuckled, before hugging him back tightly and pressing a kiss to the top of his head gently.

"I am Izu...and I'm not going anywhere." Yoichi murmured softly, before Izuku pulled out of the hug.

He still needed to get to his Quirkless training with Aizawa and a few other students who had asked for it, he hoped he would be able to learn enough in only two weeks. He just took a deep breath, before getting his stuff together and heading over to the class room he needed to go to for said training.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Two weeks later, Izuku was moments away from time travelling and murdering whoever thought Quirkless fighting should be invented. It was ridiculous and the only reason he'd continued after the first lesson was because otherwise he'd be completely and utterly outmatched, more then he already was.
"I hate Aizawa..." Izuku groaned, pouting upwards from where he was laying on his bed with his head on Yoichi's lap and the white haired man chuckled as they played with his hair gently, giving him a fond expression.
"Ah, you know that isn't true." Yoichi said softly as they ran their hands through his hair once more.
Izuku just huffed, but conceded the point. His teacher hadn't judged on his decision to fight Quirkless in the Sport's Festival, even commenting how it was a brilliant idea. He had nearly swelled with happiness, his teacher didn't think he would end up being useless like his teachers in the past had thought.
Hikage who was sitting in the room while reading a book, looked up from a page and gave them a small smile. The Fourth user had rapidly become Izuku's second favourite One For All user, they just seemed to relate to him more then some others. Perhaps it was due to the shared chronic anxiety they both had, which was as good a reason as any he supposed.
"The Sport's Festival is tomorrow, are you feeling nervous?" Hikage asked and Izuku turned to give them a deadpanned stare.
"Yeah,  you could say that..." Izuku drawled, his wings weren't visible anymore since he started wearing the Quirk suppressing cuffs on and it made him feel strangely...wrong as they'd become almost normal for him.
"If you want, we could stick close to you during the final event which is always One vs One battles?" Hikage offered and Izuku gave the Fourth user a grateful look, nodding in response.
Just then Daigorou poked his head into the room, before walking through the door and letting out a large sigh. Izuku just raised his eyebrow in confusion, wondering what had gotten the Fifth user so tense. Daigorou was the most laid-back of the One For All users and almost never got serious, unless it was important.
"You ok Daigorou?" Izuku asked and Yoichi glanced up with concern.
"I just had an argument with Katsumi and Sokka about the relationship I had with him, before my death..." Daigorou spat, glaring at the ground and Izuku frowned at that." I just wish they would leave it alone already, it's bad enough knowing that I wasn't enough to get them to stop on their destructive path..."
Yoichi's face fell, before they sighed shifting slightly and gesturing for the man to come sit beside them and Izuku.
"You couldn't have changed his mind, Daigorou...that being said, if it's any consultation...he loved you so much." Yoichi said softly, their green eyes filled with sympathy." I know what my brother looks like when they love someone, sadly love has always been a secondary thing to them."
"Wait...your brother and Daigorou were in a relationship?!" Izuku exclaimed in complete and utter shock." Wait...so does that mean Daigorou's death was caused by their own boyfriend?!"
Daigorou shook their head, a small frown on their face.
"Not exactly, they did kill me...but not directly." Daigorou admitted." They had organized a Villain attack on a building, I just happened to be the Pro Hero that was sent to fight those Villains and the building collapsed onto be....killing me alongside the Villains sent."
Yoichi winced slightly, before sighing and running their hands through his hair once more as if to ground themselves.
"Yeah, after that En went ballistic with revenge." Hikage added with a huff, looking mildly annoyed." They died before their twentieth birthday due to their desire to make All For One pay for killing their father figure, still can't believe you just adopted a random kid off the streets like that."
"It was legal, that's why we have emergency foster licenses!" Daigorou protested and Izuku let out a giggle, amused by the two's antics.
"Just because you have it, doesn't mean you need to use it!" Hikage pointed out, earning a small glare from Daigorou." The license is meant for fostering, not for adopting and yet somehow you found away around that..."
Daigorou rolled their eyes, before turning to Izuku with a small smile.
"So kid, how did your last training session go with Aizawa?" Daigorou asked as they hadn't been there that time, Izuku just smiled softly.
"It went well, all things considered." Izuku admitted, wincing slightly at the memory of getting his ass handed to him by his teacher." When Aizawa wasn't attempting to murder me that is...."
The Fifth user laughed, their pale blue eyes twinkling in amusement.
"Yeah, your teacher is nothing if not strict." Daigorou said with a huff." It's probably why Katsumi and Sokka love them so much."
Izuku snorted, yeah...Katsumi was obsessed with the man's teaching skills and Sokka wasn't much better. If Izuku didn't know better he would have said Katsumi was a teacher or something when they were alive, but that was obviously not the case with them being Quirk War soldiers.
Yoichi also gave a chuckle, their green eyes holding no small amount of amusement at the jab to their ex and best friend.
"Well, they likely commend the strictness due to their own life experiences." Izuku said slowly, giving a small shrug." It's just drill into them, not much they can really do about it...considering that if must have saved their life several times."
"True." Daigorou conceded with a grumbled." Still think their way too uptight, there's a difference with being strict and knowing when to be soft and just being jerks."
"Daigorou, please don't call them jerks." Yoichi stated firmly, giving the Fifth user a hard look and Daigorou winced.
"Sorry, I am just not happy with them right now." Daigorou muttered, before looking towards Hikage curiously." What are you reading?"
Hikage sighed, marking the page they were on and closing the book.
"I am trying to read, the Hunger Games." Hikage admitted with a huff, making Izuku snort slightly at the choice of book.
"Ugh, I hate that book." Yoichi admitted with a shiver." That's the type of world Brother would have wanted, people dying for the entertainment of others all while being the single person in charge of everything...."
With a small glare, Hikage placed the book on the table next to them.
"Thanks for ruining the idea of the story." Hikage stated sarcastically." Now I won't be able to read it without the image of All For One in my head, just great..."
"Ah, sorry Hikage." Yoichi mumbled sheepishly and Hikage just waved their hand.
"Don't worry about it..." Hikage said with a shrug." It's not that important anyways, what is important however is figuring out what to do about Izuku's little explosive issue. We know it's slowing down as his body evolves to handle the power, but we don't know how well it will evolve before it just can't anymore."
Izuku nodded, it was a fair concern.
Hikage had given them a theory that the Wings were actually One For All's way of manifesting outside his body in order to allow his body to not be under pressure of the Quirk inside him. Basically if the power was manifested outside him, then internally he wouldn't break down as fast or at all.
Since putting on the Quirk suppressants he hadn't had another regeneration, so he looked like a mini All Might.
That being said, Hikage suspected he would regenerate the moment he took them off since the Quirk was forced into his body and into a dormant state. When that state is unleashed he'd be forced to regrow his wings and the power would mostly be inside him once more, which was a good enough theory for the staff and One For All users.
After all, Hikage was the expert on One For All when it came to how it broke down the body and killed a person.
"I think...One For All will just give me more wings or maybe something else as I get older." Izuku said with a shrug." I only have a single pair of wings...but how cool would it be if I had six or something?!"
The three others in the room chuckled in amusement, earning a wide grin from Izuku. It was nice making everyone laugh, instead of worry about things.
Chapter 13: Sports Festival - Part 1
Notes:
Obstacle Race and Calvary Battle are the exact same as Canon(minus Katsuki), so I will skip those....mainly cause Izuku didn't use his Quirk in the first two tasks anyways.
Chapter Text
Izuku swallowed, in a few moments he would enter the the giant stadium alone and without anyone there including Yoichi. The previous users having decided to stand back and let him do his own thing, otherwise risking distracting him. He understood, but it felt wrong being this far from the ghosts that had become like a family to him, not to mention he didn't even know what it was like to not be around Yoichi anymore.
"Are you ok, Midoriya?" Iida asked, his hand chopping the air." Your exceptionally pale, like your life is being drained from you...did you get hit by a Quirk?"
He turned to his friend and gave a small smile, not understanding what he was talking about. While he was a bit anxious, he certainly didn't feel all that strange, but he took out a mirror he often carried around in case he needed to check his appearance and swallowed. He did look a bit pale, but it should be fine, at least for a while.
"It's alright, Iida." Izuku reassured with a smile." I'm just feeling really anxious about the first task we're about to do."
"Ah, that makes sense!" Iida said with a nod, before returning his focus as the doors opened and everyone began to pool out and into the large open field in full view of thousands of people.
It was like his heart had leapt into his throat, but he continued to walk carefully towards Midnight who was waiting for everyone to gather. Once they all were ready, she called up Todoroki to give a speech as Kacchan had been expelled at the beginning of the year. The duel Quirked teen just gave a short, almost scripted, speech of doing the very best and then went back to his spot.
Izuku chuckled nervously, listening in as an obstacle course race was revealed and he paled knowing that the amount of speed related Quirks would surely prevent him from winning.
Would Yoichi be mad at him if he didn't win, he looked over at the stands and met the green eyes of his boyfriend. Although it was difficult to see the expression of the man from such a distance, it was surprising enough he could see his eyes at all. With a deep breath he turned back towards Midnight who was ordering everyone to get into their positions, taking a deep breath he also got into position.
He was determined to give this his all, even if he wasn't able to win.
Izuku collapsed on the couch in the waiting area, his head laying on Yoichi's lap as the man ran his fingers through his blonde hair. He sighed happily, he felt and looked better once he had gotten closer to Yoichi, it indicated that he got more sick the further the One For All users were from him.
"Yoi-kun, whats going to happen when I grow up?" Izuku asked softly, from what he noticed all his forms were the same age as he was currently and likely would appear older as he aged himself.
"I don't know, my little Phoenix." Yoichi replied softly and Izuku noticed his boyfriend looked sad and worried, it was clear this was eating up at him just as much as it was him." It's alright though, everything will turn out ok."
He smile up at his boyfriend, enjoying the brief time he had before the last event. It was a one versus one battles, he wondered who he'd end up against. He hoped it wasn't the power houses of the year, after all he was fighting Quirkless and despite his ability to break down Quirks, fighting someone like Todoroki would easily sweep him.
"I suspect you won't actually age anymore, however I cannot be certain." Hikage commented from where he was on the other side of the room meditating and Izuku blinked, but then realized it was possible, not that he would really know that for a few years.
"That means everyone I know will..." Izuku swallowed, tears stinging his eyes as he made the horrible realization that he might potentially not age and that meant he would forever outlive his friends and family." If I don't age, then everyone I know will....they will all die, while I'll be left alone..."
Yoichi pressed a kiss to his forehead, making him blush slightly, despite the world shattering realization.
"You won't be completely alone, my little Phoenix." Yoichi murmured softly." I will be here for you, as will the others and you'll always have us as a constant regardless of your fate. I promise, we're not going anywhere."
Izuku just shoved his boyfriend playfully, attempting to hid the bright scarlet blush that was creeping over his face, neck, and ears. The first user was so sappy sometimes, although it did make him feel warm inside. His heart racing at the soft chiming chuckles the white haired man gave him, it was like sweet music.
"Yoi-kun..." Izuku whined, glaring at the man slightly.
"Sorry, but I was only being truthful." Yoichi whispered with a smirk, making Izuku turn away and catch the gaze of Katsumi, the second user giving him a small nod and he shifted into a sitting position.
"Um, do you mind if I go talk with Katsumi for a second?" Izuku asked, before whispering softly." I think he wants to talk, plus I've been meaning to tell him that he's like a father to me..."
Yoichi's eyes sparkled slightly, before he nodded and gave him a quick kiss on the lips, letting him go. So he stood up and made his way out of the room, Katsumi following him and soon the both of them were outside. Although he was a bit nervous on what the man wanted to talk about, he hoped it wasn't anything about his relationship with Yoichi.
"Um, before you say your thing...can I just tell you something I've been meaning to for a long time?" Izuku asked and Katsumi nodded, so he took a deep breath and revealed his secret." I think of you like a father figure, I understand if you don't feel the same familial roll for me...but I don't have any father figures other then Toshinori."
He watched as the red eyes of Katsumi widened, before the man just smiled and wrapped his arms around Izuku in a tight hug. He let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding, thankful he hadn't offended the strict man.
"Your very much a son to me, Izuku." Katsumi said softly, before pulling out of the hug and giving him a concerned expression." I am just worried about one thing I've noticed in your...regeneration's, mainly your body is able to change physically to some extent. I've talked about it will Hikage and it's possible you'll undergo more...dramatic, changes in the future like how your wings came in."
"What are you saying, Father?" Izuku asked, feeling happy when Katsumi's eyes widened.
"I want you to start making sure that you use protection when doing anything with Yoichi, last thing we want is you transforming into a girl and getting into...problems." Katsumi said and Izuku's jaw dropped in shock, was the second user of One For All seriously giving him the 'talk'.
He nearly choked on air, coughing as he tried to get over his complete shock.
"I-I'm sorry, what?!" Izuku exclaimed and Katsumi just avoided his gaze, looking very awkward and he wasn't exactly surprised considering what the man had just said.
"Um, please refrain from accidentally getting knocked up." Katsumi said and Izuku stared, ok he hadn't been hallucinating, not that it made him feel much better." Just please say you'll be careful so I never have to talk about this with you again..."
"Father, you do realize that Yoichi is a ghost right?" Izuku questioned and Katsumi shot him a glare.
"I know that, but One For All is a Quirk designed to pass through DNA and I don't know if that means that our forms have some kind of DNA or not." Katsumi stated and Izuku nodded, it made sense in a weird way." Regardless, just please promise to be careful."
Izuku sighed, but gave the man a nod and earned a relieved expression in return.
"Ok, fine...you win." Izuku said eventually, although he would have to break the news to Yoichi since the both of them had decided to have another intimate moment after the Sport's Festival, though Katsumi didn't say no entirely....
Katsumi nodded, before he floated back into the room and Izuku looked down at his watch, it was five minutes till the third event. Great, he had barely any time and he was on the verge of hyperventilating over the fact he would have to fight his powerhouse classmates. He wished he had just gone with his wings and regeneration abilities, it might have been slightly unfair for everyone else...but that didn't mean that he wouldn't get absolutely crushed himself now that he didn't have access to One For All.
He was so dead.
