Chapter Text
After a bit of reassurances to themself they finally took a deep breath and pressed the 'Go Live' button. Main character quickly readjusted the mask on their face out of paranoia, they smiled widely at the phone pointed to their face their eyes being the only indication that they were smiling. "Rise and shine my dear viewers! Hi, hello, how are you all?" They read some of the responses that flooded into the chat, giving their own responses to the few questions that were asked about them too.
Main character's paranoia quickly melted away at the kind words directed to them. "As you can see," they spun around slowly to show what was behind them, "I'm not at home, and there's a reason for that! Would anyone like to guess?" They made their way to the kitchen while taking short glances to the chat, they couldn't read most of it properly due to the speed that they all went by, but they were able to read a few short answers luckily.
"Correct! Well, some of you are. Uhh yeah, I am now in America since Vidcon is coming up and all, and I'm just so excited to meet you all!" They placed the phone on the counter and made it stand against a toaster thing, to make their excitement known they hopped around a bit in childish glee. They watched chat express their excitement as well, as in watched as random words blurred across the screen while they went to go find their chocolate stash. "I'll do a random tour of the apartment I'm in in a bit. But I'll show you my quickly growing chocolate stash before that." They grabbed the phone again to show a closed cupboard. They opened it to show a lot of neatly piled chocolate bars that almost filled the whole cupboard. "Yeah, I couldn't help myself,"
Main character spent some of their time in the kitchen just chatting with their followers while snacking on chocolate. The peace didn’t really last after they heard something get knocked over somewhere in the apartment. They blinked, confusion clear on their face as they went to grab another chocolate bar out of their stash. "Pff, maybe this place is haunted." They muttered to themself, "Might as well bring an offering," their viewers immediately disagreed with their choice, if the barely readable words zooming across their phone were any indication. "Come on! This happens a lot back home, so might as well be nice to these ones too." They chuckled, oblivious to the ones quietly and aggressively arguing with eachother in their room.
"I'll bring ya'll with me incase something happens," Main character snatched their phone off the counter then waddled to the hallway that lead to some of the rooms. "Hellooo! If anyone decided to actually break into my apartment then congrats to you cuz this place high as hell." They giggled to themself as they pointed the phone camera towards the hallway, they tossed their chocolate bar down the hallway, conveniently it landed right in front of the room their intruders were in. A few moments of silence passed and they swore they could hear unintelligible arguing coming from their room. Main character was about to tell their chat that there was nothing to actually worry about and grab the chocolate, they were stopped after an arm reached out of the room quickly to snatch up their chocolate bar. Unfortunately they were able to grab the chocolate bar but they heard the person get dragged away as well.
Main character stood there. They were dumbfounded that there was Actual people in their apartment and that one of them actually decided to take their chocolate. They ran out of their apartment as quick as they could, —also taking more chocolate with them before they left— "Shit shit, holy fuck! Uh, I'll end stream right now actually! Love you all byeee!" The stream ended abruptly with them out in the hallway of the apartment building. And if anything from the horror movies taught them was to never investigate, run as quickly as you can, call the police if they are available, and not be American. Not that they have anything against Americans, some of them, but Jesus Christ they are really stupid in the movies.
Main character practically throws themself into the elevator and frantically pressing the ground floor button. They caught a glimpse of a tall and lanky figure down the hall slowly making it's way towards them. They quickly realized that It was the famously infamous internet myth of the faceless man itself. Slenderman. Their face almost turned as white as it after the revelation, the door finally closed but not without the thing teleporting in front of them looking for some sort of attention. Main character jumps back with a shout of fear, the lights flickered violently for some moments before everything went to peace. They took that time to calm themself as they reached for their phone in their pant pocket. They shakily dialed 911 and held up the phone to their ear, "911 what's you're emergency." A woman's voice said, "uhm.. so someone stole my chocolate-" "Can you elaborate that further sir?" They gulped, did they really sound like a guy?
"Well, they didn't really steal it, I did kinda offer it to them for breaking into my apartment room-"
The elevator stopped moving, they blinked as the lights flickered off permanently.
"Well fuck."
