Sam opens the door to Baby; the Chevy 1967 Impala he steps out of the car, removing his sunglasses before moving a hand through his hair. Ruby opens the door to his right, opening it as she flips her hair removing her sunglasses from her eyes and tossing them in the shotgun seat with her hand on her hip.
“So Sam, what kind of puppy are we getting?”
He closes the door behind him flexing his bicep as Ruby shuts hers with a swing of her hip resting her elbows along the top of Baby while she awaits his response.
“A border collie” Sams says as he flicks his hair out of his face turning on his heel before they sashay into the shelter.
Ruby grabs the door handle to the shelter and swings it open, Sam walks in and she closes it behind them, they approach the shelter counter and Sam places his elbow on it, while looking at the woman from his left side. “So” Sam says “I was wondering do you have any border collies?” He moves his hand into two gun signs pointing them at her.
Sam approaches the woman at the till and she fans herself “Ohhh”
“I was wondering do you have a border collie?”
“I think we just might” the woman grabs her keys from behind the counter as well as a binder and directs them to the entrance to the kennels. The kennels are a stark contrast to the two Hunters who wear leather jackets and denim jeans, Ruby leans against the wall crossing her arms while Sam approaches the kennels unclipping the hook on a Labrador pup who jumps up to his knees the second the door unlatches and starts yapping glee.
Ruby detaches herself from the wall and squats next to them petting the puppy’s back while it stands on its hind legs.
“Aren’t you cute” she says, still petting it as she stands up “So Sam, are we going to adopt this one or what?”
Sam strokes his hand through his hair, flicking his luscious locks over his eyes.
“Yeah I think we just might”
“I’ll go get the papers” the volunteer says latching a leash on them “This is Marley” before directing Sam and Ruby to the interview room and closing the door behind him.
