On a windy day, the whole Austin, Wickham family was talking around the table while Zander was making dinner. Each family member takes turns making dinner, apart from Bethany, of course. sometimes, especially on windy days the whole family, apart from Zander, feels like shit. It's a common occurrence so zander doesn't mind since he's used to it but especially today he felt like a bad feeling was in him he wasn't paying attention to it tho, though he was too busy listening to Hailey vent about her love life and her past. Zander isn't someone who cared about his past even tho he did have a shit childhood he never thought about it that much knowing it would evoke a bad feeling. Haily kept bragging about her love life and how jake and she kept getting into fights but then it ends up into a cuddle night, Zander always found that funny.
Zanders pov
-"hey zander do you know where mom and dad went with bethy?" hailey said.
-"no" i replied without thinking about my tone.
-"wow are you feeling bitchy today? think about your tone dumbass." hailey said with a funny tone.
i giggled and said "wow your seriously thinking about my tone?"
-"i mean i do feel like shit today and somehow i keep thinking about my mom... hey do you want me to show you pics of her ? she's really beautiful !"
"again?" i said calmly trying my best not to provoke hailey "i already know your mom looks like an angel no need to show me pictures of her,infact,showing me pictures of her could only make you remember her more and you would only want to sob in your pillow even more" i said in a pity voice
during that sentence i just said we heard angry little steps in the front door "thats probably bethy" we said at the same time "jinx!" thats what hailey decided to reply with. "alright ill just go with it and focus more on the food" i thought to myself .
mom , micheal and bethy all entered the house . i was looking atmy mom and somehow she looked quite anguished. i didnt think much of it thats acctually her normal expression.
mom walked up to me with a close up view she looked very stressed to my suprise, she decided to whisper to me it was in french " Alex vas dans ta chambre pour quelque minutes s'il te plais" (Alex go to your room for a second please) thats all she needed for me to go up to my room bethy and hailey decided to come up with me .
narrator pov
the children went up to their rooms while both of the parents were downstairs .
shannon had tears in her eyes she looked really bad and all of that only because of one text.
the children went up to their room because shannon didnt want them to know what was happening because it all happenned in an instant.
zander's stupid asshole of a dad was coming. She didnt want to remember what happened when zander was a child she didnt want to see her other children she felt awful knowing that she left them with their dad without leaving a trace and leaved with zander . but since they were adults after all and just for them to be safe she landed them both 15 000 $ to make them safe but the person she was worrie about the most is mostly zanders dad.
shannon texted zander asking him to go to lukes house for the night with bethy while hailey was at jake . Zander received the message he didnt understand why but he just went with the flow and made a small backpack for bethy while he had clothes at lukes house he didnt think about it much and just went with bethy to lukes house not expecting much. he thought to himself "maybe they just want to spend some alone time" . they ended up taking the backdoor.
