Sononi was intrigued by Tsubasa from the first time she interacted with him as civilians. He was different from other men, not wanting to flirt with her since he was already taken. It was fine. Sononi didn’t really have feelings for him anyway.
When Sononi found out Tsubasa used his points to revive her, she felt something. Excited? Happy? Honoured? She wasn’t sure, having never felt whatever it was before.
She was amazed he did that for her.
But after that, every rejection felt more personal. Sononi wondered what she had done wrong.
Did Tsubasa not love her after all?
