Dean is right, of course.
Castiel Novak doesn’t ever visit.
He doesn’t come back.
And sure, he was just some kid that used to babysit his kid, but Dean can’t help but feel as though something went missing and never came back the day Cas left.
It doesn’t matter anyway, Dean was never more than a faux older brother to the younger man, maybe even a father figure, he shudders a little at that thought, but sometimes… sometimes he still thinks about the look on Cas’s face when he called Dean the ‘embodiment of love’ and inside, he burns.
