Chapter Text
“Can you guys either get married or just stop flirting with each other? Jesus Christ.”
The meeting stopped, everyone looked at the two states in question, Nevada and California, who were giggling at Florida's remark.
“You know what? Sure, fuck it.”
“Language!”
“Shut up Utah.”
California took off one of the many rings the state was wearing, and stepped on the table walking over to Nevada before pulling the other up with him.
“Nevada, will you do me the honors and marry me? For tax reasons of course no homo, socks stayed on, the whole course.”
“Yes!”
“Y’all are joking right. You guys aren’t actually getting legally married, right?”
Texas’s voice seemed to shake a bit when he said that, almost as if he was uneasy.
“You know I hadn’t even thought of that- but sure.”
“I mean yeah then we can just do our taxes joint! It’ll be better anyways. Texas you managed to have a good thought for once!”
“Now let’s go Nevada, I’ll buy us some actual rings and then we can go on a date.”
The two left hands intertwined.
“Oh right! All of you guys are invited!”
California opened the door for Nevada, letting the two of them out, and closing the door behind the two.
“So that’s going to be a fucking disaster wedding.”
“Language!”
“Shut the fuck up utah.”
“You’re mean New York.”
“We shouldn’t allow them to get married, I mean, that would get in the way of work right?”
“Gov, would it be a problem for California and Nevada to get married or is Texas just jealous?”
“I mean- he’s not wrong, states shouldn’t get married, it’s a whole weird legal process and then I have to do more paperwork if they want to become one state, and I already have a lot, but if they don’t decide to do that then there’s no real problem.”
“So Texas, are you just jealous?”
Florida and Louisiana stood up from their seats and surrounded Texas.
“Are you?”
“Shut up Florida!”
Texas left the room slamming the door behind him.
“Meetings over I guess.”
Most of the states left, leaving only Florida and Louisiana.
“He’s jealous.”
“Fo sho sha.”
“We’re definitely doing something about that.”
“Definitely sha.”
