Chapter 1: Welcome Logibear
Chapter Text
Oscar and Logan were both resting in the American’s hotel room after an appalling race. The thick air of Florida sticking to them as they relaxed. The sun was still high in the sky and beaming down through the window only adding to the already humid atmosphere.
Oscar been hampered by technical issues from the beginning of the race and Logan had over-cooked it clipping his front wing on the Aston Martin, ruining his race before it even started.
Since they left the track behind Logan continued to bring up his bad race stating it “was his fault” and that “he was useless”. Oscar knew how hard it was, especially finishing last at his home race, but he’d been there before and knew the pieces would click together at some point.
Still, he didn’t like to see his boyfriend in such an internal struggle with his emotions, he knew that he had to do something to ease Logan’s mind.
At first Oscar thought going out for dinner would help but soon remembered his boyfriend saying he didn’t want to go out. Logan’s emotions showed just what it did to him. The once giggly and loving American was reduced to emptiness.
It’s while Oscar was pondering what to do did it click, before he could forget he climbed off the bed and grabbed his shoes. His movement didn’t go unnoticed by his boyfriend who questioned where he was going.
“Going for a walk, I’ll be back soon don’t worry” he replied.
Logan seemed convinced with Oscar’s answer who snatched his wallet on way his out. Once outside he headed to the nearest gift shop. The humidity swallowed him instantaneously yet he soldiered on and kept walking.
It wasn’t long until the Aussie arrived, the small shop was tucked away off the street but not hard to miss. In the window was just what Oscar was looking for… a small teddy bear with soft brown fur and even had a little love heart embedded in its paw.
He snatched it up instantly, got it packaged in a box locked with bow tie and headed back to the hotel. Oscar really hoped that the teddy would improve Logan’s mood, even if just slightly.
On the way back Oscar reflected on the moments the pair had shared together, and the new ones they’re create in the future. He also thought of a name for the teddy, Logibear, just a silly little name to bring a smile to his boyfriends face.
Before Oscar knew it he was stepping into the hotel and swiping his keycard on the rooms door.
Upon entering, Logan’s eyes met Oscar’s before settling on the gift box his boyfriend was holding.
“What’s that?” Logan asked curiously, approaching his boyfriend.
“It’s for you” He replied holding out the box.
The American reached out gripping the gift box and undoing the ribbon. Gradually he lifted the bear out the same way a parent would pick up their child, it showed how gentle he was sometimes.
Oscar watched as his boyfriends eyes studied the bear and captivated on the love heart embedded on his paw. It’s only then did he realise that Logan was beginning to cry. Immediately Oscar stepped into action.
“Hey, don’t cry” The Aussie started pulling Logan into a hug.
“H… he’s beautiful” Logan sniffled.
“I know, that’s why I got him you, I called him Logibear”
Oscar was sure he felt Logan smile at that, a feeling of great gratitude washed over him.
“You’re so sweet and caring” The American said locking eyes his teary eyes with Oscar’s. “I love you” He continued.
“I love you too” The Aussie replied, tears now beginning to brim in his own eyes.
They ended up spending the rest of the evening cuddled up together on the bed, watching movies and playing with Logibear.
Finally, as they crawled under the covers, Logan held Logibear close to his chest, feeling its soft fur against his skin.
“This was the nicest gift ever” He said, smiling at Oscar.
"I'm glad you liked it" Oscar replied, kissing him on the forehead.
Oscar thought as he slowly drifted off to sleep that he had succeeded in distracting Logan and may have even brought their relationship closer together.
And as they slept, Logibear watched over them, keeping the pair safe from anything that was thrown at them.

Chapter Text
Oscar was relaxing out on the bed of his hotel room after what could be considered an awful race on his side of the McLaren garage. He was running in the 2nd half of the field for most of the race until wing damage casued him to drop back to the far end of the grid, from there he never improved. With no upgrades to his car he wasn't really expecting to get a really positive result from the weekend anyway, fortunately Lando carried the team to a good result.
In the end the Aussie was happy that the weekend was done and now he could relax for a few days until Silverstone. He was especially happy as Logan was able to spend the next few days with him, something the couple didn't get to do that often anymore. Oscar was just waiting on his boyfriends arrival.
That arrival came an hour later however it wasn't in a calm manner but rather a rushed and panicked one instead. Distress was written over the American's face causing Oscar to jump up and embrase his partner in a hug, slowly moving backwards to sit on the edge of the bed. The Australian rubbed a hand up and down Logan's back whilst the latter sobbed into his shoulder, he could only think to what had happened? Logan had just had one of his best races of the season so why was he so upset.
As his sobs subsided, Oscar pulled back looking into his boyfriends teary eyes before asking "What happened?"
"I've lost him" Logan revealed.
Oscar was confused, who could Logan have lost that meant so much to him. His parents weren't ill as far as he was aware so what was going on. "Who have you lost?" the Aussie questioned.
"Logibear. H... he was with me this morning before the race and now i can't find him, i thought i might've left him here bu... but he's not and now i can't find him" Logan sobbed more.
Oscar now understood why Logan was so upset. Logibear was something his boyfriend adored deeply, a symbol of their love for each other and something Logan didn't go anywhere without, so the realisation that Logibear was now missing made his heart drop. The younger pulled them into another deep hug whilst Logan cried into his shoulder again, he wasn't concerned of the damp patch forming on the fabric.
"We'll find him don't worry, even if i'm here until next week" Oscar whispered into his ear. He proceeded to wipe Logan's remaining tears with the sleeve of his hoodie before pulling them both up to their feet and making a stride to the door.
"We need to retrace your steps babe, i think starting at your room would be best". Logan didn't argue, Oscar was always the smarter one of the pair so instead he followed along in his wake. It was only a little over 6pm meaning that the track was still open for the pair to enter without question.
The first place they headed was Logan's drivers room, they searched up and down but came out empty, Logibear wasn't there. The next place they checked was the William's Garage, Oscar was unsure about if he would be let in due to him being a McLaren team member but to his surprise the William's staff welcomed him in with open arms. Logan must really talk about him a lot around here.
However, once again they came out empty handed They had looked around the whole garage with no success, even some of the team had been helping but even with the extra hands they still couldn't find the allusive Logibear. Their final place to look was the teams hospitality centre, if Logibear wasn't there then they might never find him. Once again they searched the whole building yet came up short, Logan had given up hope and Oscar wasn't feeling any better, on the way out they saw Alex and asked if he had seen Logibear.
"Alex, you haven't by any chance seen a brown teddy bear around here have you? He's about this size" Oscar asked making dimensions with his hands.
"No i haven't. Why what's the reason?" Alex questioned with a puzzled face.
"Logan's lost it and can't find seem to find it anywhere" The Aussie replied whilst his boyfriends face flushed red. That was one way in which to embarrass him in front of his teammate.
"Can't say i have mate, sorry"
"It's okay, we'll keep looking for him" They both thanked the Thai driver.
"No worries, good luck!" He shouted as the duo exited the building.
The clouds began to open up with a light drizzle of rain as they sat on a bench inside the Paddock. The once bustling strip was now virtually empty with the occasional person passing by, Logan ran a hand through his hair as he sank back against the chair. His upset nature made Oscar's heart drop, this was suppose to be a good day for Logan and instead its turned into one of the worst days in his recent memory. It hurt Oscar that he couldn't do more for his boyfriend.
"This is all my fault, i'm sorry for having to make you come out here to look for a teddy" Logan blurted out.
"What do you mean? Don't blame yourself for anything, i'm sure if it had happened to me you would have done the same. We do everything together" Oscar stated, crushing Logan's negative feelings and causing a heat to rise inside of his chest. The American was so thankful for such a caring boyfriend. Just as the silence had settled between the two, it was interrupted with a familiar voice.
"Ahh there you are, i've been looking for you for the past hour." They both looked up to see Benny, Logan's trainer. "I found this bear in your drivers room after you left, i assume it's yours" He continued holding out the bear for Logan to grab.
"We've been looking for this, thanks Benny" Oscar stated with enthusiasm, happy that Logibear was back with them.
"Don't worry about it, see you two boys soon."
Oscar looked over at his boyfriend who was now relieved to have Logibear back in his possession, a smile slowly crept over his face. It was nice to see Logan happy again. The American hugged Logibear tightly against his chest the whole way back to the hotel not letting him go.
The couple took a seat on the sofa, Logan resting his head on Oscar's shoulder hugging Logibear tight as the latter ran his hands through his boyfriends blond hair. It was relaxing, so relaxing that they both fell asleep there on the sofa. Oscar content that he was able to help find Logibear and Logan swearing that he would never let him leave his sight again.

Chapter Text
Oscar's race had gone terrible, crashing out on the first corner was the worst possible outcome especilally after yesterday. All he wanted to do right now however was go back to his hotel room and relax, he couldn't be arsed with anything else today. Logan could tell that he was in a bad mood and he wasn't surprised to be totally honest, P2 to P20 in two days must've felt awful. And so the American's main aim now was to just keep the Aussie happy until tomorrow when today's events would all blow over.
As Logan closed the door behind them he set off to make a pot of coffee, he knew his boyfriend would much appretiate it not having drank since the end of the race 3 hours ago now. Meanwhile Oscar had taken a seat on the edge of the bed in the ajacant room contemplating his race result and how he could've done better. Before he could get too engrossed in thought however, Logan appeared with a steaming mug of what smelled like coffee.
"Here you go" Logan stated handing over the mug. Oscar didn't acknowlege Logan verbally which was odd but nether the less proceeded to grab the mug. The American took a seat slinging his arm around the younger. "You'll bounce back, you know that. Logibear knows that aswell". On cue Logan pulled out his beloved teddy bear which he placed in between them, this would usually cheer Oscar up but this time his expression didn't change.
"I didn't want to slump in the first place" He replied feeling slightly more down and agitated.
"It happens to everyone at some point" Logan countered. He knew that his boyfriend could be too harsh on himself sometimes not realising the real truth, Logan had experienced it himself enough throughout his career. "And it was something that was partially not in your control anyway".
"It was! It was all my fault and why do you care anyway?" Oscar snapped launching upwards, spilling the mug of coffee in the process.
Logan felt hurt, he was only looking out for Oscar trying to lighten up his mood, he cared for him and hearing them words made his eyes watery. He didn’t wait to hear what else Oscar had to say instead knowing it would be better to leave for a while and so he headed for the the door. As he did so the Aussie realised his mistake and the effect it had on his boyfriend. He hadn't meant to say that, he wasn't thinking when he snapped.
"Logan im sorry. I didn't mean to—" But before he could finish his sentence the American had left with only the sound of a latch filling the air. His emotions were now that of anger. How could he be so fucking stupid? And as he made his way back into the bedroom his gazed landed on coffee stain on the floor and Logibear who had fallen onto his side. The plushy bear filled Oscar's mind with thoughts of Logan and what it meant to him, he clutched the bear in his hands staring at it's beaded eyes when he began to cry, tears slowly creeping down his face.
Logan wasn't sure exactly where he was going when he left the room but decided that he needed some air to clear his thoughts, he knew that Oscar didn't mean to say what he said but even then hearing those words made his stomach churn. The Aussie was still frustrated with his result and Logan knew he should've been more careful with his approach, it was his fault, he shouldn't have jumped in so soon instead allowing his boyfriend to calm before consolidating him.
The gentle breeze was a welcomed addition slowly wipping through his hair whilst he leant back in the bench that he'd taken a seat on. It reminded him of the moments he and Oscar shared together, something would happen and yet they'd always seem to find somewhere to sit down and just think about it, together. He sat there for a while allowing Oscar and himself time to clear themselves before he headed back up to their room to apologise to the Aussie.
Slowly he made his way back up to the room before opening the door and slipping inside, making his way straight to the bedroom. Logan peaked his head round the doorframe to be met with a sobbing Oscar sitting on the edge of the bed, head in hands and Logibear clutched to his chest. It really made Logan's heart drop seeing Oscar so sad considering he was someone who would stay strong in most situations, "Hey" he stated after he knocked on the doorframe. As Oscar's gaze met his the Aussie broke down again with fresh tears now spilling causing Logan to sit down pulling his boyfriend into a secure hug rubbing a hand up and down his back to comfort him.
"Its okay baby. It's okay" Logan soothed rubbing his hand around Oscar's back. The latter continued to sob into his shoulder slowly wetting the soft fabric of the jumper. "Let it all out, it's okay I'm here" He continued.
"I'm sorry" The Aussie croaked out, muffled into the fabric and not looking up at Logan out of fear that he was still upset from earlier. "It's my fault, I-" Logan started before being cut off.
"No it's not, I snapped and I shouldn't have, especially not at you. I'm angry at myself and you were trying to care for me and I took it out on you. You didn't deserve it, especially not when I said 'Why do you care' because of course you do and thats why you were with me". Oscar whimpered, his emotions catching up with him again. The next thing he felt was a soft hand moving backwards through his hair, slow with methodical grace quieting his sobs.
When Logan didn't reply, Oscar got nervous. He pulled back and looked into the emerald green eyes which looked straight back at him before asking, "Do you hate me?"
Those green eyes slowly became glazed with a thin layer of tears. "I could never hate you because then I'd have to hate myself" Logan responded pulling Oscar close to his chest, shedding a tear as he did so. The response made another tsunami of tears flood the Aussie's eyes, "I love you and I'm sorry".
"I love you too baby"
Time seemingly slowed around the duo as they held eachother close, 2 minutes slowly became 10 and as much as Oscar hated to he had to pull away from Logan. Its only then did he remember Logibear who was squished between his and Logan's bodies, he should give it back as even though they did share him it was still rightfully Logan's. "I think this is yours" Oscar stated holding out Logibear for his boyfriend to grab. Logan reached out but pulled back when he saw the sad look in Oscar's eyes, "You keep him for now, you need him more than I do".
"Are you sure?" Oscar asked. Logan gently rubbed his thumb over Oscar's cheek pulling him into another kiss. "I'm sure" He replied, "I am tired though".
"Same here, lets forget about today" The Aussie said before being pulled by Logan onto the matress and into his chest, the last thing he remembers is the feeling of cotten sheets being pulled over him and a gentle kiss placed into his hair.

Chapter Text
Logan arrived in Singapore on Tuesday morning, the sweltering heat taking hold of him instantaneously after leaving the air-conditioned terminal. Oscar wouldn't arrive until Wednesday and so it allowed the American to familiarise himself with the micro-state nation. As he had been present the year before Logan already had an inkling as to what to expect and an insight into what the pair could do when his boyfriend arrived.
Alex had told him of a beautiful spot to watch the sunset just West of the bay. It was a place he and Lilly used to go to a lot and so Logan decided on taking Oscar there as a sort of ‘date’ night.
Over the evening Logan organised where and when the best time would be to go to the viewing point. The point in question was a high peak that overlooked the city and had a clear view of the sky. It was also secluded which made it the ideal location for what Logan had planned.
The next morning Logan woke up bright and early ready to pick up Oscar from the airport. He greeted his boyfriend with a firm hug before leading him to his car, intwining their fingers on the walk there. Logan drive them back to the hotel before helping the Aussie unpack his luggage unlike himself who left it all thrown about.
The last thing the brunette unpacked was Logibear who he sat down on the bed facing Logan. “I didn’t forget him” Oscar stated with a smile to which he returned. “I knew you wouldn’t, I also have a surprise for you later” Logan stated.
“What is it?” The younger asked. “It’s not a surprise then is it” He responded with a laugh to which Oscar joined him. “Just meet me here about 7 o’clock” He continued to which Oscar nodded before they went their separate ways for team duties.
Later on the couple met up at the hotel as Logan had asked for before he drove them to the vantage point. “Where are we going?” Oscar asked curiously. “You’ll find out soon enough” The American replied as he pulled the car into a gravel car park where he unpacked some items from the trunk. They then began their hike up the winding path, hand in hand like young lovers with Logan leading the way.
Eventually they made it with Logan placing a blanket down on the grass before patting the spot next to him, inviting Oscar to take a seat alongside him.
As the last rays of sunlight painted the sky in hues of gold and pink Logan tuned to Oscar who had now realised that this was what they’d come for, and when the latter turned to face his boyfriend he realised that it wasn’t just the sky that was pink.
The sunlight cast a shadow on his boyfriends face which made him look even more beautiful than he already was added with the golden shine of his blonde hair made Oscar want to remember this moment forever. And as the sun finally set the Aussie felt the soft touch of Logan’s fingers against his cheek before he was pulled into passionate kiss.
As they pulled apart with that last of the light fading, Logan reached around before pulling out their beloved Logibear and placing him in between the pair of them. Oscar looked at the plushie before returning his gaze to the blonde before letting out a soft chuckle. Although most people would think it’s childish, Logibear was a symbol of love for the pair and so it made sense to take him wherever they went even if it did confuse some people.
When the last of the sun faded and the stars began to emerge, the trio lay there wrapped up in each-other enjoying their last bit of peace before starting the next two busy weeks which lay ahead.
Notes:
And that’s chapter 4 complete. As stated before I may rework this chapter into something better if to you all would like that. Also got other wips in the work including a ‘big’ project (he puts in quotations). Anyway I hope you enjoyed this chapter and any suggestions for upcoming ones are always welcomed along with comments and kudos.
Hope you all have a great rest of your day!
