General Jing Yuan, the respected ruler of Xianzhou Luofu, had always been known for his dedication and tireless work. As a leader, he faced numerous responsibilities, from managing the affairs of the state to ensuring the safety of his people. However, despite his unwavering commitment, there were times when his duties consumed him entirely.
On this particular day, General Jing Yuan found himself overwhelmed by urgent matters that demanded his attention. The walls echoed with the bustling sounds of advisors and messengers, seeking his guidance on various issues. With a heavy heart, he realized that he would not be able to spend quality time with his beloved child, Yanqing.
Meanwhile, Blade, Jing Yuan's husband and the other parent of Yanqing, observed the general's distress. Though Blade was naturally caring and compassionate, he often struggled to express his emotions openly. However, on this day, he felt an undeniable urge to make a difference and bring joy to their child's life.
Despite his initial hesitation, Blade mustered the courage to approach Jing Yuan, his heart pounding with nervousness. "Jing Yuan, I know how busy you are today. Please allow me to take care of Yanqing for the day. It would mean the world to me if I could spend time with him and try to make him happy."
Jing Yuan's face softened as he looked into Blade's eyes, sensing his partner's vulnerability. He understood that Blade's reserved nature made it difficult for him to openly express his love, and he admired his husband's willingness to step out of his comfort zone. With a grateful smile, he nodded in agreement, giving Blade permission to take over for the day.
As the day unfolded, Blade's determination to bring joy to Yanqing shone through. He transformed their chambers into a lively playroom, complete with toys, colourful decorations, and Yanqing's favourite snacks. Although he felt a bit awkward at first, Blade's love for his child overshadowed his discomfort, and he focused on creating an atmosphere of warmth and happiness.
Yanqing's eyes widened with excitement as he entered the room, filled with wonder at the magical transformation. Blade, with a playful glimmer in his eyes, invited Yanqing to join him in an imaginative game of adventure. Despite his reservations, Blade threw himself wholeheartedly into the game, taking on different roles and creating enchanting scenarios that captivated Yanqing's imagination.
Blade and Yanqing spent the day engaging in various activities that blended laughter, learning, and love. Blade encouraged Yanqing's creativity by painting alongside him, even though he considered himself a novice artist. They laughed together as Blade's attempts at artistic expression took amusing forms, and Yanqing praised his every stroke with genuine delight.
Throughout the day, Blade's awkwardness gradually faded away as he focused solely on Yanqing's happiness. They built elaborate forts out of blankets, played with swords with each other, and even had a mini dance party in their living room, where Blade let loose and showed off his hidden dance moves.
While Blade's efforts sometimes felt clumsy, his sincerity and genuine desire to connect with Yanqing became apparent. He asked Yanqing about his dreams, his interests, and listened attentively, eager to understand his child's world better. Blade's presence filled the room with a quiet strength and reassurance, leaving Yanqing feeling loved and cherished.
As the day drew to a close, Blade tucked Yanqing into bed, planting a soft kiss on his forehead. Overwhelmed by the depth of his own emotions, Blade whispered, "You are my greatest joy, Yanqing. I may not always know how to express it, but please know that my love for you is boundless."
Yanqing, with a contented smile, hugged Blade tightly. "I love you too, Papa Blade," he murmured, his words filled with warmth and affection.
When General Jing Yuan returned from his day of arduous duties, he found his heart swelling with gratitude and admiration. Blade's willingness to step out of his comfort zone and show his love in his own unique way had given Yanqing a day filled with happiness, acceptance, and a deeper understanding of their unbreakable bond.
Jing Yuan approached Blade, his eyes brimming with appreciation and love. He wrapped his arms around Blade, embracing him tightly, silently conveying the depth of his gratitude.
