Chapter Text
Naruto was barely six when he once again tried to hide from the villagers on his birthday.
Each year the villagers would become especially aggressive towards him on his birthday.
They already didn’t like on the rest of the days, but on his birthday they would go so far as to attack him.
Now he was running from two older men who had knives as they chased after him with murderous eyes.
He usually knew that someone was there to protect him, but today that person wasn’t there and so he was running with all his little legs could muster up.
He fell multiple times as he slowly reached the forest, going in, in fear of being found out.
Blood was running down his forehead as he went deeper and deeper into the forest. For a blink of a second, he saw two black and red eyes staring right at him with something like petty and sympathy?
And then the surroundings slowly changed, as fog started to appear and the forest turned more and more into a jungle.
Another thing Naruto noticed was the silence. He couldn’t hear the people following him, nor could he hear any animal.
"A little boy?" A voice behind him said or more like asked.
"Ahhh" Naruto screamed as he turned just to find a slug as big as him staring at him.
Katsuyu was surprised as one of her many bodies had met a human child in her jungle.
Why was it so surprising? Well, she lived in a different dimension as a summon.
Even more so as the child had a lot of bruises and a head wound.
"You can talk?" The child asked in wonder as it looked at her in awe. It was a pure expression of curiosity.
"I can little one and I can also heal, so how about we treat your wounds before we talk more hmmm?" She asked as the boy just shyly nodded.
She slowly approach him and carefully made contact with him so as to not to scare the boy.
The boy was almost instantly healed the moment their bodies touched. The boy was looking at his healed arms and legs in wonder.
"Wow, that is such a cool power you have" The boy exclaimed.
"Thanks, so why don’t you tell me your name and how you got here?" She asked.
"I’m Naruto Uzumaki and I got here while ……….. while running away from two bad men that wanted to hurt me." The boy explained.
"Hmm, so you just run and suddenly you are here?" She asked again to make sure.
"Yeah, I was running into the forest beside the village and then I saw you"
So that meant someone else had sent him here but who, who had the skills to send someone else into a completely different summoning world?
"Well, I can keep you here for a little while and then send you back." She said as the boy shook his head.
"Can’t I stay here?" He asked with big eyes that screamed, please.
"No, you have to go back, what will your parents say when you don’t get home?" She said as the boy looked away.
"I don’t have any, I live alone. Please, nobody in that village likes me anyways"
"How about you tell me more about yourself and I will decide then"
And so the boy talked, mostly about his time in the academy. How he lived and how the villagers treated him.
To say that she was shocked would be a little bit too much, she had lived long enough to have seen even more horrible things done to a child.
But still, the boy was living in a hellish world that he wouldn’t need to. But she also knew why, from his stories of the villagers she was sure that he was the vessel for the nine tails.
Being a jinchuuriki was never easy but that didn’t mean that she had to be the same as these people. So yes, she promised him that he could stay and that she would teach him.
1 year later.
"Naruto how many times have I told you that your chakra has to be pure when you heal?" She asked.
"Sorry Katsuyu Sensei" Naruto replied embarrassed.
While she had to scold him a few times didn’t mean that he was bad at what he did.
No, it was quite the opposite, Naruto had a remarkable talent for chakra control and an endless thirst for knowledge.
She was only teaching for a year and he was already as could as someone that had studied medical jutsus for 4 years.
Most of his chakra was consumed to suppress the nine-tails chakra. He still had a lot of chakra left but it was more manageable this way.
"You have grown so much little one" She said with a smile as she looked at his results, he did indeed manage to heal an almost dying fish.
"I’m not that little anymore, look I have grown so much" Naruto replied pouting as he showed her how tall he used to be.
And he was right, he had grown a lot, it was probably due to his proper intake of nutrition here.
She had also stimulated the growth factors in his body, but he didn’t need to know that for now.
"Can you teach me how to divide myself into so many bodies like you?" Naruto suddenly asked.
"I’m afraid that I can’t, my internal organs are completely different to yours and you are also not on my level to reassemble your body again" She explained.
"So if I'm good at healing I could do it too?" He asked.
"Maybe, it depends on how good you are."
"I will give it my best"
And he did, Naruto had indeed learned a lot in two more years that he had studied under her.
He had mastered a lot of healing jutsus, as also poison treatment and antidote making.
He was now already on the level of tissue engineering, to create and modify skin or bones how he likes them.
He had an incredible talent for chakra control and with that for medical ninjutsu.
But what he had was even more so was the will and discipline to learn without a break. He was just living to learn more and more from her, for his own survival.
Because Naruto had learned early in life, that he had to be good to survive. That he had to be the best to have freedom, so he learned as if his life depended on it.
"You know what I told you about re-engineering your own body" She reprehended him as she looked at that miracle.
He had indeed succeeded in cleaning out all impurities in his body. He had cleaned out every bit of it, even his hair and eyes had turned white due to this process.
"I’m sorry, but look how good my healing palm has gotten because of this" He said more in an excited tone than in an apologetic.
And indeed his hands were dark green, more so than Tsunades, speaking of her contractor, she just hoped that she could show this kid to her.
But Tsunade hadn’t summoned her in years since the last big shinobi war.
"It is very impressive" She told him as the boy smiled at her praise.
"How about you learn a little bit of elemental chakra jutsus? Lightning for example is important to reanimate a heart and wind to sharpen your scalpel" She explained in their 4 year of teaching.
Naruto had grown into a fine young man, his age of just 10 years wasn’t any hindrance to his looks or intellect.
He was tall for a 10-year-old, with beautiful short white hair and eyes. He was a very fit child as well, so yeah, he would probably be the center of attention with the girls.
"Okay, if Sensei says so. You always know what is right after all." He replied like the good student he was.
"Yes you will have to learn them but not with me anymore" She told him as he stopped training to look at her with his big eyes.
"Do I have to leave?" He almost whisper asked.
"Yes, you have stayed here longer than you already should. It’s time that you go back to humans and live like a human again. You also need to train with real humans to become better." She explained and while he was nodding in understanding, she could still see the fear in his eyes.
"I don’t know if I can manage it without you Sensei, they will treat me horribly again" Naruto said as he looked at his hands, recalling memories of his dark past.
"You look completely different from before, your chakra signature has also changed. There is no way they will ever find out.
And you will not be alone, remember that you have the nine-tails with you at all times and that you can summon me whenever you need me."
"But that old fox is always so mean, he always threatens to kill me." Naruto complained, it was one of the few times that he behaved like a child. That fox sure must be one hell of an annoying one to even trigger him.
"Just try to get along with him, you don’t have to be best friends but should come to a mutual understanding."
"Okay Sensei"
"And only summon me with people around when your health is in danger"

"And only summon me with people around when your health is in danger"
Naruto had reappeared in the human world in the same spot he had left, in the forest near the village.
He suppressed a reaction to his old memories as he slowly exited the forest.
His way through the village was completely different from his past, the people didn’t look at him in hate or disgust.
No, they smiled as he passed them, a store sold him a snack for a fair price instead of demanding five times more for rotten food.
Katsuyu had given a good amount of money to start with, if he understood her correctly then that must have been Lady Tsunade's money, so he was a little worried but she said it was okay.
He had looked around and decided that he would settle down in the red light district as had done so in the past.
They were people who hadn’t judged or harmed him in the past. The rent was also much cheaper than other places and he didn’t know when he would start to make money.
He had enough money for a year if he had calculated his expenses correctly, so he decided to train first before looking for a job.
So he did, he made sure to study medical books out in public and also train outside so that people would notice him.
That they will not question him too much about his medical knowledge. It also helped that the village slowly got to know him so that he didn’t just appear out of nowhere.
Half a year passed with him just training in medical ninjutsu and reading medical books that he had borrowed from the library. They thankfully didn't fall under shinobi techniques or they would have been restricted.
He rubbed his eyes awake as he heard someone banging on his door one morning, well it was more like 4 AM, so you could say night. He slowly moved to the door to see a woman standing there, her outfit already revealed that she was a prostitute.
"I'm too young for your business, go away" He called out, his voice tired.
"Hey brat, come out, you study medicine right?" She asked or more like yelled through the door.
"I do" He replied without opening.
"Well, we need help so move your ass" She said impatiently.
"I'm no professional, so go to the hospital" Replied as he already turned to his bed.
"She doesn't have the money for a hospital" The woman replied.
"They have an emergency fund for people without money" He replied in hopes that she would go.
"They ....... they don't take cases from people like us" She replied a little more quieter.
"Hah fine, give me a minute to put on some clothes" He said as he went to his bed to put on one of his shirts and make his hair look presentable.
They walked for 15 minutes to the other side of the red light district as many people stared at him, the woman that had called him looked around the age of 25 to 30. He wasn't sure, she was beautiful without a doubt, but he could see how worried she looked.
They went into a brothel and then into the basement as he saw a lot of shinobis on his way down. Coming into the basement he saw two other women gathering around a third that was laying on a bed.
"What are her symptoms?" He asked as he looked at her to find out what the problem was.
"She has incredible pain while moving and it comes from her back" One of them answered.
"Can she still move her legs and toes?" He asked as they shook their heads, so that was a clear no. Her spine was definitely spanned in half, which meant that the nerves to her lower body were cut off. Why wasn't she in a hospital?
"I will try my best, but she really should go to the hospital" He replied as he went around the bed to look at her back a little closer.
"It might hurt but please try not to move" He said as he let his fingers glide over her back until she hissed, so that was the point where it had broken.
He applied his healing palm to that place as he saw how her bones set themselves back into the right place. He then tested her reactions to see if her nerves had healed with her too and they did, only a little thought.
"I'm going to shock you, it will hurt, but I think that it might help to stimulate the nerves" He explained.
"Just do it" The woman replied weakly as he nodded. He then clapped his hands together as he watched how lightning was flying between his two hands before he carefully shifted them so that the sparks jumped over onto her back shocking the woman.
She screamed in pain as all her muscles contracted, she was now in a position of a fetus but her legs had moved. He once again applied the healing palm as he watched how her muscles relaxed a little.
"Try to move them again" He said and indeed it did work better.
"Good, you had luck that your nerves weren't completely severed. Just try to move your body each day a little bit more, you should be able to walk in two maybe three days. Of course, this is all without a guarantee. Hope I could help you, as a payment I would want a lunch or two"
A week had passed and that woman had walked over to him with three boxes of lunch, she had walked, so he could help a little bit. It was a good feeling to help someone who needed it.
It was also the beginning of endless late-night wake-ups as he was called for all kinds of emergencies. A cut here, a broken leg there. There were a lot of people who needed his help because the hospital wouldn't treat them. At least he didn't need money for lunch anymore.
"Again?" He asked yawning as he looked at a guy that had come to get him.
"You are the only one around here with healing abilities Ken-kun" The guy replied, Ken, it was the name he had chosen for himself.
"I'm a young boy, I need my sleep or I will stay short forever" He replied as the guy just laughed.
"But for real, couldn't you have waited for the day?" He asked as they were already walking to god knows a hidden basement again.
"It's a shinobi this time" Huh, that is a first for him, shinobi have more than enough money to go to the hospital as they also had specialized doctors for them.
"A shinobi? Why are you asking for me?" He asked as they already reached their destination.
"He didn't want to go to the hospital" The man replied, he sighed as he went for the basement.
Coming down he saw a man in his early to mid-twenties, he had a few cuts all over his back and arms. They didn't seem that severe, he could even smoke as he looked him up and down like he was trying to figure out Naruto.
"I'm Ken, why aren't you in the hospital?" He asked first thing first.
"Don't want to" The man replied, he was built very sturdy and you could see a few wounds here and there that had healed over time. He didn't understand how people could put their lives at risk for money.
"Well, I want payment" He said as the man laughed.
"I heard, two lunches?" The man said or more asked.
"No, that's for people who can't get treated at the hospital. I will be taking 50% of what the hospital would be charging you" He explained as the man just took another cigarette out of his pocket.
"Okay fine with me, as long as you don't tell anyone that you treated me" The man replied.
"I don't interact with people who I could tell something like this" Naruto dryly replied as the man laughed once again.
"I like you, I have a feeling that we will be seeing each other a lot more in the future" Naruto just sighed as he heard that, nevertheless, he got to work as he patched the man up until he was good to go.

"I like you, I have a feeling that we will be seeing each other a lot more in the future" Naruto just sighed as he heard that, nevertheless, he got to work as he patched the man up until he was good to go.
Another 6 months passed as he trained and healed patients left and right. Katsuyu-sensei was right as always, his healing had dramatically increased, and he had learned so much more through real-life praxis.
He also earned a lot of money from the shinobis that had come to him for help, it weren’t that many, but these that did come, came often. Like the first guy, Asuma was his name. And if he understood him correctly, he was the son of that old Hokage.
He kept in touch with Katsuyu and studied hard under her, his lightning release had gotten much better to the point where he could almost instantly create it in his palm. But it was still hard and needed a lot of concentration, wind on the other hand came naturally to him.
It was much easier to control and form as he could make small scalpels with it, they would even cut metal. For now, his life was going well here in the human world, the question would be, why wasn't it always like this?
"You are here again" The old fox hummed out, more annoyed than angry at this point. Naruto had made it his mission to at least visit the grumpy fox twice a week.
"Buhu, what did you expect, that someone else would come?" Naruto asked as he sat down, he was way too used to this and his sarcasm seemed to at least make the fox amused.
"Your life is pointless anyway, one wrong move, one slip up and you will be thrown in jail. You study medicine for what? To help these that made your life a living hell?" The fox asked sarcastically.
"I do it for me, I like the feeling of healing something that is broken. I love how I have the power to remodel the entire human body." He answered.
"You still have no power, no way to escape, sooner or later you will be in jail or dead"
"Wouldn't you die with me?" Naruto asked.
"I'm made out of chakra, I can't die, I will simply reform somewhere else"
"Oh like Sensei"
"Do not compare me with that disgusting Slug" The fox growled at him.
"Na, you two do use the same mechanism, you turn your body into chakra and then reassemble somewhere else." Naruto mused with the idea, maybe the fox was right and he should look for a way to at least defend himself.
"Did you not hear me-----"
"Do you think I could turn my body into chakra?" Naruto asked interrupting the rant that was about to come.
"You? Turning yourself into chakra? A human? Your jokes have reached a new high, you know I hate that disgusting Slug but at least it has some skills compared to your kind. You can't even control chakra that has left your body"
Naruto beamed at the fox for his help, because he knew that this grumpy fox was helping him. Even if it was hidden behind all that hate and insults, the tip he had gotten was to control the chakra that had left his body.
Well, that was easier said than done, he had learned rather quickly that the moment his chakra disconnected from his body was the moment it stopped listening to him.
But he knew that this was just another task he had to master, patience and training were the way for him, has always been since he had his master.
So he did train for another year and yet he couldn't control chakra outside of his body. His overall chakra control had gotten much better to the point where he could create blades, needles or even threats with his chakra. But the moment he let go, was when it just disappeared.
It frustrated him to no end, never before had he trained for a year and not gotten closer to his goal in any way. His elemental chakra control had gotten much better and it was the only thing where he could feel a fast and steady progress. Asuma had even given him a few pointers here and there.
He could instantly shoot electricity out of his hands or make a whip out of lightning. He also learned how to shoot lightning through his own body to increase his reaction speed as well as his movement speed.
Yes, he had started learning a little bit of martial arts, who knows when he had to protect himself? He didn't have that many offensive skills, he mainly focused on speed to run away.
What interested him most about lightning was that the entire body had cells, which all had their own small electricity signature. He was trying to use his lightning release to create a method to scan the body on a cellular level with low-volt electricity.
It worked to a certain degree for now, but who knows what he could do in the future. His sensei would be proud if she knew what he was trying to achieve. She had always told him that he should try and to create his own medical ninjutsu, to surpass her.
His wind release had gotten even better, somehow wind was just so easy for him. It listened, it did as it was told. It comforted him to be able to control the wind to that decree. He felt alive when the wind was running through his fingers and hair.
He could already jump down from high up to glide down as the wind around him naturally picked up to guide him down slowly. He could use it to boast his running speed significantly as it pushed him from behind.
"Is that your Girlfriend?" Naruto asked as he once again was about to heal Asuma. But today another woman had also accompanied him, she had black hair, was very lean and had rudy red eyes. Almost as beautiful as the eyes that had saved him that night.
"Kinda" Asuma replied.
"Kinda my ass" The woman replied as she punched the man.
"Well, good for you, never thought a troublemaker like you would find someone" He replied as the woman laughed.
"How am I a troublemaker?" The man asked.
"You come to me quite often and I see wounds that I didn't treat, so that means you do go to the hospital. This also means you come to me when you don't want your father to find out that you got injured." He explained.
"A very clever deduction" The woman praised as the man sulked in defeat.
"Thanks"
"Why don't you work for the hospital thought?" The woman asked as she stared down at him and something felt strange, like reality was vanishing as he looked at her red eyes.
His chakra was feeling weird, no not weird, someone else had put Yin chakra into him. He instantly stopped his chakra for a second to dispel the foreign chakra.
"Who did this?" He asked as he already moved to the door, only his instincts helped him to ducked under an incoming arm that was about to grab him.
"Calm down, it was just a joke" The woman replied but he was already on high alert as he circulated lightning chakra through his veins, letting his hair spike up and his eyes glow.
"A joke gone too far for someone I don't know. Consider this my last time I help you Asuma" He said as the man stood up to explain or apologize, but Naruto didn't wait as he charged as much lightning into his feet as he could before sprinting off.
He heard the man yell his name as the wind picked up around him to part the way and give him a boast from behind. He was running as if his life depended on it, he was running straight for the forest as he could hear two people following him.
Looking over his shoulder he saw Asuma and that woman on his tail very nearby, shit, what are they going to do to him? He didn't want to find out, fear, he felt fear for the first time in so long. He had almost forgotten how it felt, but the memories came back in full force.
With a wave of his hand, the wind changed as a storm picked up. His skills weren't dangerous or deadly, but he sure as hell could try to blast them away with as much force his wind could muster up.
Chapter Text
With a wave of his hand, the wind changed as a storm picked up. His skills weren't dangerous or deadly, but he sure as hell could try to blast them away with as much force as his wind could muster up.
Asuma cursed himself as he tried to catch his little medic friend again, he had asked Kurenai to cast a little genjutsu on Ken so that his wound would look funny. Who would have thought that he would completely lose his shit and run away in fear?
These eyes of betrayal as he had looked at them, these eyes of fear as he was checking how far away they were. He was amazed at how fast this kid was, he and Kurenai were jonin and yet they could barely maintain the distance between them.
The technique the kid used was also very interesting, you could see that he had no formal ninja training from the way he moved. But this lightning that he saw sparkling out of his eyes, as well as the wind that was pushing against them, was definitely elemental chakra control of a higher level.
Did this kid learn all of this on his own and master it to this extent?
And what was it? He had never heard of or seen anyone use lightning in their own body, not to mention letting it flow through their entire body like this.
They almost reached the forest as suddenly a storm formed before them, obstructing their vision. He was just about to jump through it when lightning mixed into the storm at such a high intensity that the leaves in the storm were roasted to dust in an instant.
"We lost him," Kurenai said as she came to a stop beside him.
"We made a mistake," He said as he still remembered these eyes of betrayal and hurt.
"With these skills and yet he isn't in the academy, do you perhaps think he could be from the root?" Kurenai asked him.
"With that gentle soul of his? No way, and as you saw, he had no formal training. His movements were completely wasteful, his change in direction like a normal civilian. No, I think that he taught himself, just like he did with his medical ninjutsu."
"We will have to tell the Hokage about him," Kurenai declared and he agreed, but it pained him.
Because he could see all this time that Ken didn't want other people to know about him in high positions. Well, the Hokage had already heard about him as an extraordinary healer.
Naruto only stopped running after he reached the middle of the forest, he had long stopped hearing them follow him, so that was at least something.
Shit, shit, shit, why did they do this to him? Was that grumpy fox right, and they wanted to catch him? Why always him? Why did all bad things have to happen to him? What should he do?
Could he go back to his apartment? All his stuff was there, so he needed to go there at least one more time. But what if they waited there for him? He should have never helped these people.
They had already made his life a living hell once, he would not allow it to happen a second time. But he was too weak to protect himself. Too weak to fight for what is rightfully his, too weak to feel safe.
He needed to train to become stronger faster, but he needed to be quick so that only left him with wind chakra. Medical ninjutsu wouldn't help him in a fight, and Lightning would need too much time to get it to a degree where he could consider it strong enough.
Wind would be the only one that would grow fast enough with him, he needed------
"Hey, could you step aside, you are blocking my sun" Naruto directly jumped away as he searched for the voice. Sure enough, a kid around his age lay in the grass and looked up into the sky.
"Thanks." That was all he heard the kid say as he looked around, it seemed that the boy was here before him and posed no danger. He relaxed a little but decided to move on, he found a cave not too far from the other kid. It was deep enough to hide in there and train.
Two weeks, that was how much time he put into his training before he met the boy again. It was raining outside, and the boy had run into his cave to take shelter.
"Do you ....... live here?" The boy asked horrified.
"None of your business," He just replied as he continued to understand the fundamentals behind wind, behind air. He experimented with his control and found out that he could extinguish a fire with it.
That would go against the principle that wind is weak against fire, so yeah, he was trying to find out how the fire was shut down. The library would be very handy right now, but he didn't dare to go into the village for now.
"You don't look that healthy, when did you eat the last time?" The boy asked.
"I don't know, the last time I saw you," Naruto answered.
"WHAT? That was two weeks ago, how are you alive?" Shikamaru asked as he already searched through his back as he found a rice ball for his lunch.
"Here, you have to eat, sheesh, aren't you hungry?" Shikamaru asked, at the same time his stomach growled, the boy just stubbornly handed him the rice ball as his stomach continued to growl.
"You seem pretty hungry yourself," Naruto just noted.
"I can manage for a day," The boy insisted and well, Naruto was hungry, he did feed on the Kyuubi's chakra, but that didn't take the feeling of hunger away.
"Thank you," He quietly said as he took the ball of rice, it was delicious.
From there on, the boy would come by once or twice a week to leave him food. The boy's name was Shikamaru, he was a Nara and very smart from what he could gather in their short interactions. Both of them preferred to stay silent.
Time passed as he trained his wind control and tried to understand the mechanics of air itself. Shikamaru even brought him some books from the library he could find on chemistry and physics.
Naruto would even go so far as to call him his first real friend, but they had only six months of interaction between them. So he was prepared to be betrayed anytime, he always checked if drugs were in his food or if someone followed the boy, but nothing.
"What are you even trying to do?" Shikamaru asked as they once again sat together to eat.
"I'm trying to understand wind and air itself. With that knowledge, I would be able to better control it," He explained.
"Hmm, I have watched you train for six months now, you know that soon the winter will start right?" Shikamaru asked concerned.
"I will manage, I'm also very close to understanding it."
"Do whatever you want, stubborn as always," Shikamaru cursed as he left him to train alone again.
Chapter Text
"Do whatever you want, stubborn as always" Shikamaru cursed as he left him to train alone again.
He did finally understand wind or better air. It was a gas, it was everywhere, it was free to move as it pleased. It was made of millions of small particles and he had found out that it was made of different particles, he just didn't know which ones, but that didn't matter for now.
He had finally understood it to a degree that he could call himself an expert on the subject, now it was his turn to gamble. He had scanned his body multiple times and memorized every detail about himself.
He then turned his body into air, he let the components of his fingers turn into dust and reassembled it again. He tried again and again as his whole hand turned into dust and then reassembled itself.
He tried more and more until he had dissolved every part of his body apart from the head at least once. Now it was time for the big gamble, should he try it? It could be his death or it could be his key to freedom.
So he did, everything turned dark as his head dissolved into dust. Fear crept through his body, no, he didn't have one anymore. He couldn't see, he couldn't hear, he couldn't smell. But he could think, he could feel fear. So that meant he wasn't dead, he tried to put himself back together but it didn't work.
His mind was going over a mile per minute as he tried to figure out how to reassemble himself again. He first tried to calm down but that didn't work well with all the thoughts on what would happen if he was stuck like this.
Two days had passed or so he had assumed since he had no indication of what soever happened outside of his dark world. Then he felt it, how someone walked right through him, he had felt the shape of a foot.
Right, feeling, maybe he couldn't see, smell and hear, but he still could feel. So he tried to concentrate on feeling his surroundings, to feel the air, the oxygen moving over the ground over the grass, the water.
Oxygen? So that was what wind chakra is, it was the control of oxygen and not air. Oxygen is one part of air but now he felt it, maybe just around 1/5, so one of five particles was his to control.
He carefully connected himself with more and more particles as he increased his field to feel something. It took him another two days to connect himself with enough particles to feel an entire tree.
He felt how the world vibrated, how people's voices translated into vibration. How the ink of the books was just that few nanometers higher than the rest. It took him another month to understand the bare minimum of a conversation that people were talking about.
Reading was easier, so yeah, he dedicated his time to reading, he was reading medical books in the hospital that he otherwise wouldn't have gotten his hands on. He was reading through a lot of mission reports, he was trying to find out more about himself.
Who he was, why he was chosen as the jinchuuriki of the nine-tails. He didn't find anything about himself thought, well, for now, he was still new to this and his abilities to 'see' should improve over time. For now, he could picture his surroundings with the vibrations he felt.
It was like he was living in a parallel universe with only black and white. He had stopped trying to resemble himself and focused on learning how to 'hear' and 'see' if you could call it that.
But yeah it worked well, he was able to move with the wind, to infiltrate anywhere where air could come in. Could feel through walls and read through five books at the same time, but his brain was hurting after that. Yes, he had a headache without a head, it was cruel.
But well, he needed to know if he could indeed now turn himself back to a real human again.
"Still didn't show up?" Kurenai asked him as they watched the apartment Ken had lived in.
"No, half a year and he just vanished into nothing. I have searched the forest but found nothing at all last week" Asuma answered as he once again saw how a few people gave him the death glare.
All people here knew why Ken had vanished and well, they weren't happy with him and Kurenai at all. Some had even tried to kill them. Ken was seen as some sort of saint, he had healed the people here for free if you didn't count on the lunch he wanted.
Well, the kid was very good-natured, Ken had helped people without question, was disciplined in his studies and very skilled in his work.
That begged the question, where did he even come from? No orphanage said they had a kid with white hair and no parents reported their child missing.
He could have come from the outside with merchants and then decided to live on their own, but it was a rather rare scenario. But one thing was for sure, that kid was terrified of them that day.
Had lost all his cool as he had fled, he must have had bad encounters with people before. So an abusive childhood was the most reasonable explanation.
"What did your father say?" Kurenai asked as she took a chair by the window to keep watch of the apartment door. Because nobody had dared to enter the apartment after the boy had left.
Many knew how much money he had made from the shinobi and some of course had tried to enter it, but well, many people were indebted to Ken so they kept his place safe and now nobody tries it anymore.
He had paid the rent for the next year so that Ken wouldn't be evicted, but who knows if that kid would return.
"He was rather angry with me, it seemed that Ken alone had kept the village treatment cost for the redlight district afloat. Now all these people go to the hospital since they are used to good cheap treatment." Asuma answered as he suddenly saw white spiky hair.
"Isn't that?" Kurenai asked and yeah he sure was.
He had come back after half a year, seven months to be precise. Now here he was, walking up to his apartment like it was any other day after work. A few of the people had already seen him and greeted him or at least tried to. He had straight up ignored them all as he walked past them.
"Should we greet him and apologize?" Kurenai asked.
"No, we already left a letter, appearing at his doorstep now could just trigger another risk of him leaving." Asuma concluded as she nodded in understanding.
It seemed that nobody had touched his things while he was away, he took a cup of instant noodles and made himself water as he already heard someone coming up the stairs. Yes, his hearing had become a lot better, he could even focus on people far away and pull their vibrations over to him.
He opened the door before someone could even knock and he saw a small girl with a bunch of flowers.
"Welcome back" She just said as she gave him the flowers. He was a little surprised as he accepted the gift.
"Thanks, hmmm ...... I don't remember you" He told her honestly.
"We didn't meet, but you healed my mama and papa" Ah so she was probably the daughter of his neighbors downstairs.
"Thanks, give my greetings to them" He said as she smiled at him.
"Will do, take care doc"

"Will do, take care doc"
"Brat you are finally here again" The old fox huffed out.
"Oh did you miss me, bet you did right?" Naruto asked with a smirk.
"As if I would miss something as annoying as you" The fox replied but still smiled at the child, having seen what he did, what he accomplished. Something no human before him had mastered. That boy could literally turn himself into dust and just live on as a soul.
A soul that still had control of his chakra, he had become one of them. The Slug would be proud if she saw what he managed to archive.
"You saw it right? You said that a tiny human would never be able to do it. Well I did, I can dissolve myself, and and and? How about it, am I good enough now?" The kid boasted as the fox laughed.
"Yes you are, you are good enough to be my vessel" The fox admitted, because it was true, that boy had more potential than anyone else he had seen.
"I knew it, well da, I'm already your vessel." Naruto said with a smile.
"Hmm, just don't get yourself killed"
Katsuyu-sensei had also praised him a lot for his new skill, but she had also scolded him for being so reckless with his life. So yeah, he was tasked to improve his healing skills and keep his fingers away from dangerous things.
He was tasked to find out how to heal his own body without hand signs, something only Hashirama and Tsunade were told to do.
Another year passed with him researching his task and also perfecting his control over the wind. He was just about to turn 13 this year, so he had lived a year longer in peace than he had suffered.
"Hello" He greeted as he saw Asuma for the first time since that faithful day. He had read the letter and saw that the man was sincere in his apology, but he still didn't feel safe around him anymore. So yes, he was a little tense as he carefully moved around the man to heal his wounds.
"How have you been?" Asuma asked.
"Good"
"Are you eating well?"
"More or less"
"Where did you go to?"
"None of your business"
"Are you still mad at me?"
"I'm not mad, I just don't want to let my guard down around you anymore" Naruto replied and he saw the older man flinch for a second.
"Now if this is all, please leave your payment on the usual spot" Naruto said as he already turned to go out of the basement he was called to.
"I'm sorry," Asuma said once again, as he bowed.
"A sorry while earnest can give closure to the victim, but it will not erase what happened" Naruto said as he left the man behind.
"I'm sorry what?" Naruto asked as a masked man appeared at his apartment.
"The Hokage called for you" The man repeated.
"For what?" He asked as he already made himself ready to dissolve.
"I don't know, my task is to inform you that he wants to see you" And with that, the man puffed out of existence. Well for most people, he could still feel him in the air as the man hid behind the building.
"Well, well, better get changed then" He talked with himself.
His anxiety was on another level as he stepped into the Hokage tower. All these high-ranking shinobi could attack him at any time. The secretary had told him to wait until she called for him again, so yes, he was keeping watch on anyone who came near him.
"Come in" Coming into the office he was surprised to see Asuma but also Shikamaru, had he graduated from the academy while he was floating around as nothing more than particles.
"You must be Ken-kun, it's nice to finally meet you" The Hokage said as he shook his hands.
"The pleasure is mine Hokage-sama" He replied because his pride wasn't as high as to put him in danger and the Hokage was a massive danger to his freedom.
"I called you here to ask you to accompany team 10 on a mission to land of waves to save one of our other teams." The Hokage stated and he was already going over how to tell the man no without any consequences.
"I'm afraid I don't see why I'm here sir" He replied.
"It seems that the Jonin on that team had suffered severe injuries, we need a medic that is fast enough to keep up with a team. All the medic nins are out of the village and only have normal doctors left here. On the other hand, I have heard that you are incredibly fast." The Hokage stated.
"I'm but I don't think I have the stamina to keep that speed up or even medical knowledge for a severe case. I'm self-taught through experience, I only heal small wounds." He argued.
"I have already let a doctor evaluate your results, you have enough skills to be called one of the best in this village. And the stamina problem would be even more of a problem with doctors who have no stamina at all." Man that Hokage was stubborn with his logic.
"I have patients who rely on me that can't go to the hospital while I'm away" He tried for the last time.
"I will send over two doctors into the redlight district for the time you are away. How about this, I will open up a small clinic there and you can take over after coming back as a reward?" The Hokage asked.
"That sounds more like a scam to me, after all, my work is beneficial to the village. A clinic would only increase my workload while it saves you money" He said as the Hokage laughed.
"Well, aren't you a smart one?" Did he hear that right, the Hokage was talking to him as if he was just a small child.
"I want the village to pay me half of the price that the hospital would charge for each patient on top of the clinic" He said confidently.
"And if we don't have the money?" The old man asked.
"Then I don't see a reason to risk my life if the reward isn’t satisfying." Naruto replied.
"Well alright, do you want a contract or is my word enough for you?" The Hokage asked and Naruto had almost fallen over, that old man had agreed, he had hoped that he had demanded something so unreasonable that the old man would choose another medic.
"A contract would be great" He just replied as his inner tear wouldn't stop pouring out.
"The mission starts in two hours, we have packet anything you will need for the trip. If you need medical equipment then you are free to take something from the hospital."
"Thanks" He was crying on the inside, how could this have happened? How much money does this village have? Half the price is still a lot to cover for all his patients.
He had of course got himself a lot of good equipment as well as his first doctor's coat. It looked good on him, he loved the white as it matched with his hair and eyes.
"You don't look very happy" Shikamaru noted as he showed up at the gate for departure.
"Oh no, how did you guess?" He asked in sarcasm.
"Let's not ruin the mood when we have to travel together for a longer time" Asuma said.
"Do you have everything you need?" He asked Naruto, who nodded.
"Good, then let's depart. Ken, you go first and we will match your speed" Asuma said, maybe he had forgotten that he as Jonin maybe could, but the genin definitely couldn't.
Naruto didn't care that much as he pumped lightning through his body, his hair stood up and his eyes and skin sparkled in electricity. With a flick of his finger, the wind behind them picked up as they were pushed toward.
He ran as the other four followed behind him, he had to slow down a little so that the genin wouldn't be left behind but oh well.

"What kind of crazy person runs for so long?" Ino complained as they made their camp for the night.
"Ken, you must be the heir to the Yamanaka clan, right?" He asked as he made a fire with his lightning.
"Ino Yamanaka" She replied as she shook his hand.
"I'm just warning you, never try to use your clan's jutsu on me or I will end you" He warned, no he threatened.
"Hey!!!" Asuma hissed from the side.
"Just telling her to not get any funny ideas" He replied.
"I don't wanna hear it"
"Well then you should have taken someone with you who actually wants to"
To say that the mood was tense from there on was an understatement, they traveled for two more days as he had the wind push them even faster.
"It seems that you did understand the wind better" Shikamaru commented as they were almost at their destination.
"Yes, it gives a lot of freedom. Thanks again for feeding me and sorry for not telling you that I left" He said as Shikamaru just shrugged it off.
"Everyone has their reasons"
"Thanks" He replied as he slowed down a little. A gigantic lake was in their way, he had never tried to walk on water before. He knows that his chakra control should be good enough but without experience, it wouldn't be a good idea.
Maybe condensing the air to make stepping stones under himself would be a better idea. So he did, condensing air to a solid platform as he kept running over the lake.
"Ken wait" Shikamaru called out as he turned to see that they had stopped at the shore.
"Wow you can walk on water, awesome man" Choji said.
"He didn't touch the water thought" Ino observed as Asuma nodded.
"Is there a reason why we aren't crossing the river when we are almost there?" He asked.
"They can't run over water yet" Asuma said as he nodded in understanding, it was weird that clan kids hadn't learned it but well nothing they could do about it for now.
"Well let's find someone with a boot then"
Finally, two hours later they arrived at the house of their client. A woman in her twenties opened the door for them and led them upstairs to the patient.
"Please make a little bit more space for me to heal him" He said as a pink-haired girl stepped aside, it seemed that she had cared for the man until they arrived. He checked the man's condition and just sighed.
"It's just chakra exhaustion and some minor wounds. I will heal the wounds and stimulate the chakra system, he should be able to move in a day or two" He told them as he healed the external wounds first.
"Wow, that's so cool" The pink-haired girl gushed, he didn't mind, he had gotten that reaction often enough, even from younger kids.
"If you find it that cool, you should try and learn it. Konoha definitely lacks a lot of skilled healers, I can teach you a little bit if you want." He said, he didn't know how much these words had an impact that would change the future.
"That would be so great, I could heal Sasuke-kun" The girl gushed once again.
"If he is here I can take a look at his wounds" He offered.
"Ugly is just in her hormones, it's her crush fantasy" A young man with a crop top said, his skin was so white that he feared that this boy had grown up without any sunlight at all.
"Well her motivation doesn't matter to me as long as she is willing to learn and I wouldn't call her ugly, she doesn't look different from any other girl that I have seen" He commented back.
"I have done my part of the job for today, I will check on the patient tomorrow morning again. Is there another room here or do I have to rent a room in an inn?" He asked the woman who had watched them from the door.
"I'm sorry, this is the only room we have left" She really sounded apologetic.
"It's no problem, I will be looking for an inn. I will drop by tomorrow around 7 AM" He said as he was just about to leave when a hand came down on his shoulder.
His instincts reacted as his body floated with lightning, shocking the person and also creating a gust of wind around him that protected him from anyone's approach.
"Shit" Asuma hissed as the lightning had hurt like hell, his fingertips were burned, if he hadn't reacted that fast his hand might have been burned too.
"Do not touch me" Naruto hissed at the man.
"You can't go out alone in a foreign land" The man hissed back, still in pain.
"What? Are you telling me where I can and can't go now? Don't be ridiculous Asuma, I came along for one job and that is to heal the jonin. I did that, who are you to tell me where I can go or not?" Naruto said in a cold voice that sent shivers down their spines.
"It's not safe for a civilian outside" Asuma argued back.
"I have heard your warning and will take responsibility for myself should something happen. If that is all, I'm rather tired" Asuma just nodded before Naruto went out of the window and vanished into the night.
"Holy shit that was badass" Choji said.
"He just roasted you in two ways Asuma-sensei" Ino said as Shikamaru couldn't help but snort at that.
"You brats better decide who will be on guard duty first" Asuma told them as he signed in relief as the woman had gotten him an ice pack.
"Oh we just arrived, I don't wanna"
The next morning Naruto checked on Kakashi again to stimulate his chakra system a little bit more before joining the others for dinner.
"Kakashi just woke up, he will need a day or two to completely regain his strength but he should be able to defend himself." He informed as Asuma nodded.
"Then I will be protecting the client while Kakashi will be training the genin in chakra control. It's about time that you learn how to walk on water"
"I will use this time then to look through this island" Naruto stated.
"I had hoped that you would help Kakashi teach the genin, they could learn a thing or two on how to treat wounds from you" Asuma asked.
"I was once again not hired to teach genin, I was hired to heal a jonin." Naruto replied.
"I will pay you" Asuma said.
"Fine, but I'm out if they suck at it"
And now here he was, watching as Kakashi explained chakra control on such a watered-down level that it had lost all meaning to him. He tried tree climbing and water walking a docent of times before he decided that he was good enough with his chakra control.
He watched how much the clan children struggled to control their high amount of chakra as they failed to climb the tree. Sakura on the other hand had achieved it on her first try and water walking on her third, so now he was teaching her the fundamentals of medical ninjutsu with that Sai bastard.
He couldn't read Sai at all but he was the silent type so he wasn't that much of a bother to him right now, Sakura soaked in his knowledge and asked a lot of important questions.
She was rather gifted in academics and her chakra control was also good, so it didn't hurt to put his time into a potential future medic.
"I would recommend for you to learn it full time, but if you want to stay a ninja then you should at least work at the hospital two days a week to build up experience. You may not become as powerful as your teammates when it comes to fighting, but you will be useful or you could become even stronger than them when you are as talented as Tsunade."

"I would recommend for you to learn it full time, but if you want to stay a ninja then you should at least work at the hospital two days a week to build up the experience. You may not become as powerful as your teammates when it comes to fighting, but you will be useful or you could become even stronger than them when you are as talented as Tsunade."
The week passed rather uneventfully as the genin continued to train and taught the rest how to bandage wounds and stuff.
He was sitting on the bridge that their client was building as he taught Sakura, Shikamaru, and Sasuke how to see if a bone was broken or fractured when mist came out of nowhere.
"Well, well, haven't you recovered a little bit too good?" A chilling voice said as a man with a giant sword came out of the mist, beside him a smaller boy in their age group.
He knew that Kakashi still wasn’t at 100% of his power, so that meant the genin would be fighting the smaller man.
"Stay back with the client, we will protect you" Shikamaru said as his shadow already moved to capture the smaller foe. But the shinobi already dodged and threw a few senbons at Shikamaru who had to release his shadow possession jutsu to dodge.
From there the fight was intense. Kakashi was going toe to toe with the bigger swordsman, Zabuza seemed to be his name. It was the first time he had seen a fight between high-ranking ninjas and he was impressed.
They both had perfect control over their bodies and also precision to handle their chakra as they fired jutsu after jutsu against each other. The water dragon bomb was very impressive, would he be able to do that with wind as well?
Sasuke's fight against the smaller opponent wasn't going that well, Sakura while incredibly talented in chakra control and studying wasn't good at fighting at all, she was scared easily. Something that he could understand since it was the same with him.
Shikamaru tried to help the boy but he was just not the right person, their opponent had ice release and was just way too fast to be caught with Shikamaru's shadow possession skill. And they weren't strong enough to destroy the ice blocks.
Sasuke was in a defensive position as he tried to deflect as many senbons as possible. It was clear that their opponent didn't want to kill them, he only threw their senbons on harmless places.
He continued to watch as he saw something that let his heart stop for a second, these eyes, these beautiful red eyes. Sasuke was an Uchiha? He thought they had all died during the massacre. But these eyes were genuine, they tracked all movements even if his body wasn't able to keep up with it.
But that didn't matter, his body was already on the move. He didn't care about his own safety anymore, an Uchiha had helped him and he had a debt to repay.
He channeled as much lighting chakra through his veins as he could. With one wave of his hand, a strong gust of wind picked up as he propelled himself into the ice structure to block four incoming senbons. He hissed as one had gotten past his wind barrier and hit him in the stomach.
More and more senbons were thrown at them but he wasn't trained for this, he tried to command the wind around to form a protective barrier but some senbons still went through it, hitting his back and legs.
Come on, he had to think of something, coming out of here alone would be easy but he had someone to protect. Think, there has to be something to destroy these ice blocks, to slice .......
Yeah, he could slice them, he rotated as the wind around him picked up and became a tornado. He controlled the wind as it got stronger and stronger and then he made it sharp. Hundreds of small wind blades were cutting away at the ice so that the enemy had to flee backward.
"Hey, are you okay?" He asked for the first time as he tried to see if Sasuke was still conscious.
"Fine" The boy replied as he ripped the senbons out as if it was nothing. He applied healing chakra to the boy's wounds as he tried to find the enemy, it seemed that Shikamaru now used the time to cover them.
"Hold still, how am I gonna heal you when you move like this" He scolded as the genin gave him a weird look.
"Sensei!!!" Sakura's scream let him look up as he saw Kakashi thrown back to them with a kunai in his stomach. Shit, shit, shit. Where the hell is Asuma?
"Oii, aren't you a medic? Since when does Konoha have medics that fight?" Zabuza asked as he came nearer, his sword already ready to slash Kakashi. No, if that man died then they would all die, well he would be safe, but he had to protect these people if he could.
He formed a small sword out of lightning chakra and moved to block Zabuza's sword, his bones cracked from just one block, shit he wouldn't be able to block a second attack like this.
"Impressive for your age" Zabuza commented as he was already moving to attack again.
Naruto didn't think as he inhaled as much as he could before he blew it out at once. Out came a gigantic wind gust that hit Zabuza face-first and threw the man backward for at least 20 meters before he hit the ground painfully.
"Cover me" He said as Sasuke and Shikamaru moved before him, he pulled the kunai out of Kakashi and applied healing chakra, that man had a lot of internal wounds.
"It's no use to heal me now, you have to defend until Asuma arrives and then heal me" Kakashi said and it made sense, healing him would take too much time, so he healed himself as he watched how Zabuza stood up and his face screamed bloody murder.
"Oh you will not have an easy death" The man said with a grin but he didn't react as he already shot lightning at his opponent.
Zabuza dodged four of his lightning attacks before he was hit in the stomach by a smaller wind attack. He didn't need to win, he just needed to buy time for them.
He was about to throw a few more attacks when he saw a senbon just a few inches from his eye, he was just about to dissolve himself as Sakura tanked the attack with her hand.
"You focus on Zabuza, we will keep you safe from him" She told him and so he did.
He didn't know how long he had exchanged blows with the man, how many of his bones had broken or how much he was bleeding but he was slowly losing this fight.
He had to end this, he couldn't summon his Sensei since she wouldn't be of much help right now. No, he had an idea but it was once again a little suicidal. But it was better than not trying and dying, so he did.
He went straight up at Zabuza as he charged his hands with his maximum capacity of lightning. Zabuza slashed at him, his eyes already tracking where he would dodge. He saw the eyes of the man widen as he realized that he wouldn't dodge.
Sasuke saw it clearly with his Sharingan, that medic Ken had given up on a stamina fight they would lose and instead chose to end it in one go. They all stopped for a second as they heard how lightning was charging in both his hands.
They saw how a boy their age was fighting an A-rank shinobi, but even more, they saw a suicidal idiot as the boy had gone head-first at their opponent. They saw how the blade came from the side and cut Ken in half as his lower body hit the ground and his upper body went flying past .....
"NOOOO" Sakura's scream was cut short as Ken's upper body changed direction while midair and touched Zabuza's head. Now this was what you called a scream of pain as Ken fried Zabuza's entire body as the man's skin turned black.
Zabuza's friend was so shocked that he didn't dodge Shikamaru's shadow possession jutsu as it trapped him. Zabuza fell lifelessly to the ground as Ken's upper body was also falling, but Asuma-sensei appeared out of nowhere as he caught that half.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry" Asuma whispered as Ken turned to dust? They all stared as both his halfs dissolved into dust until nothing was left of Ken.
"What happened?" Ino asked as she and the rest of the genin came to the bridge a little after Asuma.
"Ken died? I don't know, I haven’t seen someone turn into dust before" Kakashi answered.
"I'm not dead" All their heads turned to Ken as he came out of the forest, he was still bloody and super wounded as Sakura and Sasuke helped him over.
"We just saw how you got cut in half" Asuma said but his tone had changed into a more calmer one now.
"I switched myself out with doppelganger at the last moment" Ken lied, it was a rather plausible explanation and wouldn't give away his best ability.
"Thank god, I thought you died" Sakura confessed as she cried.
"I'm about to die when I don't heal myself" He confessed as they hurriedly put him down Asuma helped Shikamaru detain Zabuza's partner.
He healed himself internally as best as he could but his sensei was right, he needed to figure out how to improve so that his wounds healed on their own. He switched between healing himself and Kakashi. Sasuke was getting bandaged up by Sakura.
It was strange he could have sworn that he saw a mod of thugs coming their way, did they leave? Doesn't matter, he was just so exhausted.

"I think he is waking up" He slowly opened his eyes as he saw Shikamaru's worried face.
"I passed out, didn't I?" He asked as his friend nodded.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck." He cursed, he was such a loser. He thought that he was finally free with his skills, but he was far from it. That ninja wasn't even one of the strongest, he was a normal A-ranked ninja, how would he fight against the anbu or the Hokage?
"Are you alright?" Sakura asked from the side.
"Yeah, I'm just pathetic" He answered with a sad laugh.
"How are you pathetic?" Sasuke asked.
"I thought I was strong enough to protect myself, but I'm just a small fish that hadn't seen the world yet. How much I had to struggle against an A-ranked ninja that was already weakened from a fight with another Jonin"
"What you archived is an incredible feat for your age" Asuma assured him, because it was. No other genin would have been able to pull something like that off.
"No, it's not enough. I need to start training again, I was slacking off on my training because I was satisfied with my progress. This will not happen again" He declared as he stood up.
"Okay, Kakashi and Sasuke stay in the room to get fully healed, the rest out" He instructed as they all slowly marched out.
He then started to take Sasuke's bandages off and healed the wounds so that no scarring was left, that would affect the stretchiness of his skin. It was rather easy to heal since most wounds were rather small and weren't too deep.
Kakashi on the other hand had a more serious internal wound, but he had already patched it up the day before and now he just needed to check if everything was okay. It seemed so for now, he would need to rest a lot more thought.
"It seems that you are both okay. If you two wouldn't mind, can I ask you for a favor?" He asked.
"Sure, we own you" Kakashi said.
"Could I see your sharingan?" He asked as Kakashi slowly revealed his eye, Naruto stared at it for a while before he turned to Sasuke, the boy closed his eyes for a second before he awakened them.
Naruto stared for a long time at them, they were incredibly similar to the ones he had seen that day. They were just similar, but at least now he knew that the sharingan looked different even in their base form.
"Thank you" He said as both hid them away again.
"Why did you want to see them?" Sasuke asked curiously.
"I'm indebted to a Uchiha, I never saw his face but I did see his eyes. I just wanted to see if the sharingan eyes look different, he is probably dead anyway.
Well, that makes you the person I can pay my debt off to, so don't hesitate to contact me should you need help or healing" Naruto said as Sasuke nodded.
"Well then, I'm off to train. Call out my name and I will come back" Naruto said before he jumped out of the window and dissolved himself so that he vanished into the night.
The remaining two weeks were spent in relative peace as he trained. It seemed that there was an incident with the thugs he had seen but Asuma had taken care of them without any help.
He had stayed in his spirit form as he called it and tried to make a deeper connection with the wind. He had seen it in the fight, wind could become really powerful but his means to control it was small. He needed more and he needed more precision, he knew that wind could be sharper than any kunai.
He just had to train it until he was able to control it, but maybe control wasn't the answer. Maybe something completely different was needed. Maybe it would be better to understand it, to be it?
"I see, you will be compensated generously for the trouble that you had to endure" The Hokage said as read the report that the team had given him.
"Thank you" What else was he supposed to say? That his Jonin suck? That his son came way too late to help?
"It seems that you are rather disappointed in our ninja, right?" The Hokage asked with a laugh.
"Of course not, how---"
"It's no need to deny it, I'm rather disappointed myself" The Hokage said as both Jonin flinched at the comment.
"I will give you an additional reward in the form of a salary for an S-rank mission" Kakashi was gaping, so that meant that it was a lot, well that should be the least they could do after he risked his life for them.
"Thank you"
"Your clinic is also built, so you should go and check it out."
The clinic was a lot nicer than he thought, it had an examination room, a supply room, a bathroom and even a herbal garden. It seemed that the Hokage was keeping the end of his promises.
"That's a nice clinic you have there" Shikamaru said as he came in with Ino, Sakura and Sasuke.
"Yeah, it seems that the old man isn't so stinky with his investment. What brings you here?" He asked.
"I'm a Nara, my clan has grown medical herbs for generations. I thought you would need help with your garden" Shikamaru answered.
"Yeah me too, my parents have a flower shop. So I know a lot about it and since you said that you wanted to train more, I thought that a helping hand would give you more time to train" Ino offered.
"I'm here to learn medical ninjutsu from you" Sakura said.
"Elemental chakra" Sasuke added.
"Well, okayyy??? Thanks for the help Shikamaru, Ino" He said.
"It's no problem"
"As for Sakura, I recommend that you to learn at the hospital, they have teachers and more resources. But I will be running this clinic each evening from 5 to 8 PM, if you want you can come by and help me. I will try to answer as many questions as you have" He answered as Sakura bowed to him.
"I will give it my best sensei."
"Sasuke, I have no special elemental training method. I just sit down and play with it and try to make it do certain things, you are welcome to sit beside me" He said as Sasuke nodded but he looked disappointed.
Over the next two weeks, he trained the whole day with Sasuke by his side, while running the clinic in the evening with Sakura. You had to give it to her, she was someone with a brain.
He had learned a lot more about medicine through her in-depth questions, but it also drove him crazy as she was asking questions he had no answer to. So he had to study himself to answer her, which took away a lot of his time.
Ino and Shikamaru came by every two to three days to look after the herbs. Ino was a real social butterfly and told him everything about the academy, the clans, and other stuff. So it didn't take long to carefully extract information from her.
Yeah, he had learned that the village had a list of extremely powerful jutsu, so at night he used his time to go into his spirit form and go through the Hokage tower.
He found a lot of information, he now knew a lot of crazy stuff about Konoha and its dark history. About a lot of missions as well as secret missions, but he didn't have the time to read through all of them.
Finally, on his fifth day of searching, he found it. He looked through most of them to see which one would be most useful, one did catch his attention.
Shadow clone, it was a very useful jutsu where you could create a clone out of your shadow and divide your chakra evenly. They would disappear after a single direct hit but that didn't matter for him as a healer. He could treat multiple people with this just.
But it had an even better side effect, after dispelling the clone all the information he had learned would be transferred to the original body. So he could double his learning speed, could treat people while he learned. Maybe he could do two or even three clones?
The scroll said that it would take a lot of chakra to make these clones, so he would be perfectly happy with one or two clones. It would double or triple his training time.

The scroll said that it would take a lot of chakra to make these clones, so he would be perfectly happy with one or two clones. It would double or triple his training time.
Coming back to his apartment he tried it a few times until suddenly five clones puffed into existence.
"Woa, this is so fucking awesome" One said
"So we will be learning five times faster"
"I'm sure that we can make more" Another one said.
"I also think it should be possible, I don't even feel that much of a dent in our chakra reserves."
"We .... I? You know what I mean, we could ask that grumpy fox for more chakra then we could make way more"
"We should not get ahead of over selves, we don't know how much information the main body is capable of handling. We should be careful not to fry his .. our brain"
"Another question would be can you go into the spirit form?" The original asked as one dissolved into nothing.
"Well, that answers one question, how about you fly to the library and cover one chapter of a book we don't know of? Let's see how the information is transmitted." Another suggested as the one vanished.
"That covers that, then let’s test this out" On said as he punched another one as it puffed out of existence.
"Did that hurt?" The clon asked.
"A little" The main body admitted.
"Pain will be transmitted then, it also means it will transmit muscle memories."
"We should all go map out the whole village. As the one covers the chapter, the main body should get some sleep. We will all puff out of existence and see if you get the information even in your sleep and if it effects you then"
It has been two weeks since they found the shadow clone jutsu and Naruto's world had fundamentally changed. They gathered that he could create over 500 clones, but they didn't try for more after that.
He would fall asleep completely worn out, if they all puffed out at the same time, so they made groups that were tasked with a special field. He had put 50 clones on his Sensei's mission to figure out how his body could regenerate his own wounds.
Another 50 were put aside for chakra control.
Another 50 for wind chakra.
Another 50 for lightning chakra.
Another 20 for water, fire, and earth. He didn't need them as much as the others but it would be good to know a little bit of it.
He put 30 on a spy mission to roam the village and find out secrets and also more information about the Uchiha.
100 were put aside to learn medical books and ninjutsu in the library and the hospital.
That summed up to 350 shadow clones, he could make more but he didn't want to overthrow his brain. Yeah, he had sent some to the Yamanaka clan to see if they had a technique that would clear one's mind.
His summons would puff out of existence in a schedule so that his brain had time to sort through the memories and make use of them.
The main body mostly stayed at home to meditate the entire day to clear his mind and sort through all the information. A clone would train with Sasuke and Sakura.
A month passed like this and he had learned and found out more than he could have ever imagined, he would be able to know. He had learned a lot about his clan and his parents, which made him sad and angry at the same time. He had found the Uzumaki temple that was still being investigated by his clones.
He had found Root, a terrifying organization that had assassins everywhere. Like Sai, who would have thought that that guy was a root member?
His chakra control had gotten so much better to the point of finally being able to control it outside of his body. Well, that's what you get when you theoretically train for 50 months straight.
His elemental chakra had gotten significantly better, but it hadn't improved as much as he hoped. His medical knowledge and ninjutsu on the other hand was top-notch now.
If he was considered one of the best before then he was definitely now, he had read every medical book that Konoha had, inclusively that of the Nara clan. He had observed all the medics in the hospital and seen all kinds of different patience.
His clones discussed and improved the methods of the medics, tried to understand the fundamentals behind them. All in all he was very proud of himself and his new accomplishment, but he had also learned that he shouldn't be satisfied.
He also hadn't entirely solved his Sensei's task, he could now heal minor wounds without hand signs on his body. But he couldn't do it with major wounds. Well, he had to talk to her soon, he will ask for advice.
Of course, this kind of training had taken its toll on him, he had massive headaches most of the day and his mental health was kind of nonexistent.
What he had found out about the Uchiha clan thought was disastrous, who would have thought that they were planning a coup and with that a revolt against the village?
Also, Itachi had fucking killed his entire clan on the orders of Danzo and now works as a spy in the Akazuki? I mean how much did that man sacrifice for this village?
To kill his own family, his own people, to be branded as one of the most terrible people in this village while all he did was protect it. He couldn't imagine what kind of burden that man was carrying with him.
Danzo was also a very interesting person who he spied on all the time, he found out a lot of dirty secrets and saw a lot of horrifying things. Danzo also had a lot of information on the sharingan for some reason.
He wasn't sure if he should tell Sasuke about his findings or not, in the end, it would be better to meet Itachi himself and ask him. The one thing he learned from this was, that the world was way more complex and bigger than he thought.
"So you are going to take the chunin exam this year?" He asked to make sure as Sakura nodded.
"Why?" He asked completely caught of guard.
"What do you mean why? It's a promotion, better missions, higher rewards. No more being a genin" She answered.
"Wouldn't it be better to wait for next year? Your healing skill is still low level at best" He said honestly, he feared that she could die in the exam, something that did happen a lot it seems.
"I can already heal minor wounds, so that isn't that bad and I learned a little bit about poison as well" She answered.
"Well, it's your decision, but please be careful."
"I will and thanks for teaching me so much" She said quietly, to be honest, he didn't like her at the start. She was a know it all and completely irrational when it came to Sasuke. But now in just a month her mindset had changed, she was more confident and had a goal she was working for.
She also genuinely cared about the people she treated. She made sure that they came again for a check-up and packed backs with herbs for them.
"How about you Sasuke, do you want to take part in the exam?" He asked.
"Hmm" That was a yes, Sasuke was rather quiet, he mostly talked while training to learn more.
He also had improved massively in this one month, his fireball and lightning jutsu had gotten much better. It seemed that Kakashi mostly taught taijutsu, which was a good decision seeing as it was a good fundament to work from.
They would be away for a week, so he closed the clinic to reverse summon himself to Shikkotsu Forest where his sensei was. He hadn't seen her in almost a year, he was already so excited to show her his progress and tell her all things that happened to him.
"Sensei" He called out as he saw the first slug.
"Naruto, long time no see" Her tone was as warm as always.
"Yes Sensei, here look what I can do now." He said as he turned into his spirit form before reassembling himself again before her main body.
"See, I can now also dissolve myself" He declared proudly.
"Yeah, I remember that I already scolded you for that" She told him, upps, maybe he had forgotten that she knew this of him already. Never mind, he still had his self-healing. He made a small cut over his arm and showed her how it healed on its own.
"Well that isn't half bad" Oh come on, did she know how long he had worked on that?
"Sensei please, just tell me!!!" He begged.
"I will not, but I can give you a hint on how Tsunade solved it in her way" Katsuyu said as he already eagerly nodded, there wasn't often a time where he could get his hands on the legendary Tsunade's technique.
Katsuyu then explained to him how Tsunade had stored yin chakra in her forehead for over three years without stopping. When she activated that seal it would give her access to that chakra and give her cells enough energy to duplicate in under a second.
But three years, wasn't that a bit much? Wouldn't it be easier to just learn yin release and then supply his body with that chakra through his blood? Well, something that his group of clones could later discuss.
His sensei would teach him a lot of other stuff in that one week as he produced over 600 hundred clones and his sensei had divided herself also in over 600 parts as each of them covered more and more medical ninjutsu.

"You are here again?" The fox yawed out.
"Why are you always sound so surprised, it's not like I have changed my pattern for the last three years" Naruto replied.
"I just don't know what I need to do to get you out of here" The fox answered.
"Oh come on, I know you like me" Naruto teased.
"It's literally the Stockholm syndrome. I'm here kidnapped, and now I have sympathy for my jailor." The fox huffed.
"Oh, and you even read the textbooks with me"
"Shut up"
"Okay, okay, I will stop teasing you. Today, I came with a request" Now that the fox's ears stand up as his eyes flashed with curiosity.
"Oh, do tell, what do you want from me?"
"Chakra, or at least make it so that I don't have to use most of my chakra to suppress yours from coming out?" Naruto asked. The fox huffed in annoyance as he turned his head away.
"Fine, you can use it in emergencies" He told him.
"Thanks, grumpy, I will, of course, train with it a little before, but I swear to only use it in emergencies" Naruto promised.
"Kurama, my name is Kurama"
"Thanks Kurama"
He used the little time he had left until his friend would come back to train harder, and yes, he considered these people his friends. He liked them all in their own ways, one of the reasons he felt so guilty about not telling them about the shadow clone jutsu.
They would be learning so much faster, he hoped that they would learn something similar in the future. For now, he had put 200 clones on figuring out yin and yang release. If he continued like this, then he would end up as a human library.
He put down 300 clones to study physics, chemistry, and biology. He knew that he had exceeded his limit but he had to find out where his actual limit was now that he didn't need most of his chakra to suppress Kurama's anymore.
So he put 500 down to elemental chakra as well as genjutsu and how to counter it.
Naruto's head was almost exploding as his clones puffed out and gave him all that new knowledge. Especially, textbook knowledge was hard to sort through as it was so much, muscle memories from his training were little but precise movements, so it wasn't that much of a junk at once.
He had learned one thing for sure and that was that his wind control had become worse the more clones he had. It was like the control was interfering with each other, even if the clones were in different places in the village.
"Ken!!!" Sakura's voice brought him out of his meditational state as he moved to his door to open it. Standing there were Sakura, Kakashi, and a not-so-good-looking Sasuke.
He was slightly pale, and his breathing was uneven, he was being carried by Kakashi as they came in through the open door. He instantly felt that Sasuke's chakra was different.
"What happened?" He asked as Kakashi helped Sasuke onto a chair.
"Final round of the second exam, he tried a new lightning technique and fried his arm" Kakashi explained.
"His chakra is different, though?" He pointed out as Kakashi gave him a weird look.
"Orochimaru gave him a curse mark." The fuck, a Legendary Sannin was at the chunin exams? How the fuck did nobody of them notice that?
"I will first try to heal his arm, but you really should have gone to the hospital" He said as he scanned Sasuke's arm with low level lightning.
"He insisted that you would be better" Sakura said as Sasuke gave a glare that screamed murder.
"Well, thanks, I will see what I can do." He said as he moved Sasuke's arm to see how the mobility was impacted. Thank god it wasn't much, just some second-degree burns.
He healed the skin as Sakura mixed a gel that Sasuke would be able to apply to his skin later.
"There, that should do, how about I take a look at the curse mark?" He asked, Sasuke hesitated for a second before he exposed his neck.
"Well, that's a nasty hickey, your first kiss?" He teased as Sasuke turned bright red, and Kakashi snorted.
"Well, it looks like it is connected to your chakra network in your body, which is not good. Most connections are sealed off somehow but there are still some left. I have no idea how to seal them off, but I can try to block them with my own chakra."
Kakashi could only stare in wonder, Ken was what, 13? And yet he was already so skilled, he instantly felt the difference in Sasuke's chakra and that he had used a seal to suppress the curse mark.
And now he sealed the curse mark off even more, something only Jiraiya would have been able to do. It wasn't a sealing thought, he used medical ninjutsu to make knots into the chakra connections between the curse mark and Sasuke's chakra system.
All in all, you could say that Ken was a miracle, he was learning by himself. All alone and yet he was progressing faster than anyone else he had seen. A genius- how much would he be able to grow if someone taught him?
He had already talked with Asuma about it, but they concluded that Ken didn't want to be part of the shinobi world. That he feared them, so they had let him be. But it feels like a waste, this kid could become someone great.
"You want me to become a medic nin?" Naruto asked in a ridiculous tone.
"Well, you are practically one, you can fight and heal" The Hokage said.
"That's self-defense. I learned it for my safety, and I sure as hell will not join the shinobi force" He almost screamed at the old man.
"What's so bad about joining our forces? You could save a lot of lives"
"I don't want to be under anyone's command, I'm my own free man and that will stay that way until I die" Naruto declared with confidence.
"Free? You? Are you sure? In this village, I rule everything" The Hokage said and his chakra spiked as it put pressure on Naruto that he hadn't felt in his entire life. But he wasn't just some weak kid anymore who didn't know how to react.
Lightning appeared around him as the wind picked up, ravaging the entire office of the Hokage but he didn't care. If that man wanted to play a power move with him, then he could. A storm pulled up outside the building, forcing people to find shelter.
"Woa, that's an unexpected sight" A man said, the voice let both him and the Hokage snap out of it as they looked at the window to an old man with white hair.
"I will not let this intimidation pass, I will leave this village should something like this happen again. Also, I will not respond to your summons anymore, if you want something from me in the future, then you can come to me." Naruto declared as he marched out of that bastard's office.
"That's some power" Jiraiya commented as the boy was out.
"What a mess" Hiruzen sighed as he looked at his devastated office, the streets outside didn't look any better.
"Who is that kid anyway?" Jiraiya asked.
"Ken, he is a local medic in the red light district" The Hokage answered.
"If he is a medic then shouldn't he be already under your control?" Jiraiya asked baffled.
"No, he is self-taught, everything you have seen right now was self-taught."
"That power is self-taught? Don't bullshit me, he has better lightning chakra control than most jonin, not to mention that weird storm thing." Jiraiya replied.
"It's the truth, but the boy's origin is still a mystery to us. Maybe you can try and find out more about him"
Naruto was furious as he stomped back to his clinic, that old man will see what happens when he pisses him off. He will close his clinic for a month, let's see what happens when all his patience bombard the Hokage for that.
Yeah, he needed political power too. He had gotten stronger, but that still wasn't enough, he would have to build up connections to have a higher standing. Something like this would have never happened to the Huuyga clan, but he had something similar.
He had two clans on his back, sure both the Namikaze and the Uzumaki clans were dead, but their names and services were still ongoing in this village. The village barrier is made through old Uzumaki techniques, maybe he should try to learn them a little bit more.
Sealing, in general, would make things a lot easier for him, so yeah, he should have a few clones try to learn it. He should also try to build a lab under his clinic, he needed to make experiments to see if he could regrow bones and organs.
Closing the clinic made the people very furious at the Hokage but also at him because they figured out that he used them as a power play for the Hokage.
He apologized but still didn't open the door for anyone as he had indeed started to build his lab. Earth release was so handy, now he just used his saved-up money to buy a lot of new equipment.
Sasuke was out training with Kakashi as Sakura was full-time in the hospital, she had undoubtedly the most talent he had seen. More than him, she was a real genius when it came to chakra control. It was, of course, easier for her, since her reserves were nonexistent compared to his.
But everybody had something to deal with, it was an advantage for medical ninjutsu, but it also had the disadvantage that she couldn't treat many people.
He sighed as someone once again knocked at his door. how many times did he have to tell these people that he was closed. How the fuck should he build his lab in secret like this.
"I'm sorry, I'm closed for the time being, please go to the local hospital" He called out.
"Please, I have been there, and they couldn't help him." It was a man's voice, he sighed once again as he moved and opened the door to find a man in a green spandex outfit and a haircut that looked ridiculous.
"Apart from your outfit, you look perfectly fine to me" He blurred out.
"I'm in the best condition thanks to my youthful training" The man replied, not the least offended.
"You must be Might Guy" Ino had told him about a sensei that was strange.
"You are right, my youthful companion"
"I'm not your companion, what brings you here?" He asked again, he wasn't in the mood to deal with this man. He was setting up a lab and had had a headache for almost two months. His patience was running low.
"My student, Rock Lee, his left arm and leg shattered into a thousand pieces. The doctors say that he will probably be unable to use them and that his life as a ninja would end here." The man said.
"Well, if that is what the doctors said, why come to me?" He asked.
"There was this pink-haired girl there that said that maybe you could help him, she said that you are the best in the village." Oh god, Sakura was throwing his name left and right, maybe it was a good thing. It would raise his fame a little.
"Do you have the chart?" He asked as the man shook his head.
"Hah, so are you expecting me to just walk into the hospital and look at the chart there? Do you know how many enemies I will make? The doctors will think that I don't respect them, that I'm looking down on their skills" He explained.
"I can get them for you" Oh god, how can a grown man have such puppy eyes?
"Yes, do that, also, ask the pink head for any data she had gathered on the patient."
"I will be right back, my youthful doctor." He had to give it to the man, he was fast.
Chapter Text
"I will be right back my youthful doctor" He had to give it to the man, he was fast.
30 minutes later he had the patient's chart and a few extra pieces of information Sakura had gathered for him. That Lee kid had taken more damage than he could have imagined. How the hell was it possible for a kid to get this much hurt.
Not only were his left leg and arm shattered, but all his muscles were thorn apart in his entire body. His veins were wide like his blood wanted to burst out of it, how could something like this happen?
"There is nothing I can do---"
"Please, he has worked so hard his whole---" Guy said as he interrupted him, but he wasn't having it.
"As I said, there is nothing I can do at the moment. I will not guarantee anything but I will try to solve this, but it's going to take a while. A month, a year, I don't know how long. You make sure that he doesn't use that leg or arm in the meantime and also bring me every new information you can get."
"Of course, thank you, thank you so much" Was that dude really crying his eyes out now.
"As I said, I don't guarantee anything. It will also cost you a lot"
"The cost doesn't matter, just write me the price and I will pay for it"
"Well okay, I guess we will see each other"
He had sent a clone to his master to talk with her about this issue. It seemed that even she would have trouble to heal it, since time had already passed so now it would have to be corrected surgically.
Another 100 clones were down in the lab, discussing and experimenting to figure out how to fix that boy. This was going to be a very costly thing for that weird sensei.
"I heard you are going to treat Lee?" Shikamaru asked as he came out of the herbal garden.
"Hmm, I'm trying. He is really messed up" He confessed.
"I'm glad, you always archive what you have planned" Shikamaru said casually.
"Not always, I'm not a god."
"Really? Have you something that you haven't archived after going for it?" Shikamaru asked.
"Freedom" It was a dry answer but Shikamaru didn't look impressed at all.
"Freedom, isn't freedom an illusion? What is freedom? To do whatever you want? If that were true then this kind of freedom would mean I could kill anyone that annoyed me.
As long as there are other humans we will be never truly free since we have to pay attention to each other's needs. You could choose to leave this village, but it would impact the freedom of the people that come to your clinic."
He never had thought about it like this, maybe he should dive into the world of philosophy as well? At least a little bit of basic knowledge wouldn't hurt him.
"I will think about it again, shouldn't you train for your final fight in two weeks?" He asked.
"Nah, too much of a hassle, I have already prepared most of it and my father is training me day and night. Luckily I got away today."
"Well good luck, I will be cheering for you from the stands"
"You will come?" Shikamaru asked surprised.
"I promised it to Sakura" He answered in defeat.
Hah, his brain is kind of fussy. The last two weeks have been a real struggle as he researched a way to heal Rock Lee. But that boy was messed up beyond repair, he will not give up yet but oh well. He also knows that not anything is fixable, would Tsunade be able to heal him?
Probably, she was known as the best medic in this world, she could probably do it when all his bones had disappeared. Well, that was if she was here, which she wasn't, it was his mission to heal that boy and he will succeed in it.
But to be honest, he was a little distracted through the Hokage. That old man had come by his clinic and apologized, he then continued to come by and drink tea with him. Their discussions were rather interesting as it was mostly about politics and how to improve the village.
The old man was okay, his ideology was okay. A little messed up with all the sacrifices he saw necessary, but all in all, you could say that Hiruzen cared deeply about the village and its people.
He still wasn't sure why that man was coming to him and he didn't feel safe telling him about the strange things happening in the village. The atmosphere was strange, the people of the sand were acting unpredictably.
Well, that didn't matter for today, he had dismissed all his clones yesterday for a day of rest as he watched the matches today.
The first match was between Sai and Neji Huuyga, he had heard that he was a genius. But could a genius win against a Uhrmacherroot member?
Well, the match wasn't as interesting as the fight between Kakashi and Zabuza. Sai had an interesting technique however where whatever he draw came to life. But these drawings got destroyed in one hit from Neji as he made his way steadily forward.
Sai was fast as he kept drawing and dodging, he wasn't a root member for nothing but their matchup was really bad for him. It took them almost an hour before Neji finally managed to hit Sai winning the match.
He felt that Sai had prolonged the match, that he had wasted time on purpose. Was it an order? He couldn't imagine that a root member would lose against a genin or was Neji just that talented?
The next fight was more interesting with Shikamaru running away from that Suna girl, she definitely had an interesting wind skills that he will try to copy later. In the end, Shikamaru lost but not without an impressive display of his genius brain.
The other guy from Suna gave up so he couldn't see how Shino fought, which was a bummer since he had hoped to see these chakra insects in action.
Now it would be Sasuke's match but for some reason, that guy hadn't appeared yet. The audience was getting impatient, it seemed that the Hokage was about to give the round to Gaara when Sasuke and Kakashi appeared in the middle of the field.
What a flashy entrance, he will be sure to remember the technique as well. The fight started and he was very impressed with Gaara. What an interesting jutsu he had, sand that moved on its own to protect the boy.
But Sasuke was also very impressive as he moved faster than anyone he had seen in his life. Their fight prolonged as Sasuke could land a few hits but nothing major that would take the opponent down.
Gaara then suddenly started to form a sandball around him and he had an icy feeling coming from that boy. Was it killing intent? He didn't know, but he was sure that the boy's chakra had significantly risen.
Sasuke had dodged a few spikes before he used a very interesting lightning technique and charged right into the sandball. From the bloody murder scream, he was sure that Sasuke had hit him.
The ball of Sand was dissolving as he saw white feathers falling from the sky, he instantly felt the foreign chakra in his system and dispelled it. Many didn't notice as they fell asleep on their seats and then it started.
Sound and Sand nins attacked, was this an invasion? Shit, he moved up to the roof as he saw how Sakura was waking up other genin. He dodged two enemies as he send lightning their way, he expected them to dodge but that wasn't case as they got fried.
Shit, shit, shit, why was this happening. Should he fight? Should he run? He was no shinobi, so he shouldn't get involved in this. However he was a medic, so healing it was.
