Legacy. What is a legacy?
It’s planting seeds in a garden you never get to see.
I wrote some notes at the beginning of a song someone will sing for me
Nijisanji, you great unfinished symphony, you sent for me
What is a legacy?
Is it becoming a world famous detective?
Is it becoming a successful streamer?
Who is to determine if one has left behind a legacy?
To the mystakes they got to witness a legacy in the making.
When the man named Mysta Rias first showed up they didn’t know what to make of him, all they knew was that he was supposedly a genius detective from the past. With such little information to work with it was a little difficult to grasp what kind of person he was. To the surprise of many, Mysta's debut showed him to be a rather loud, energetic, and slightly chaotic person. But as time went on the mystakes learned that he was also a very funny, charming, and sweet person. With such a magnetic personality it wasn’t a shock that he gained so many fans in such a short amount of time.
At the beginning Mysta was awkward and nervous, but so full of excitement and energy. It was contagious, how bright and bubbly he was, many of us mystakes left his streams with smiles on our faces and cheeks sore from laughing so much. It didn’t matter if it was a game or a simple chatting stream, we were happy to spend time with him.
As the months went by we got to see Mysta grow more comfortable and confident as a streamer, we got to see that he is a natural born entertainer. We got to see him excel in his solo content, have fun with different collabs, and celebrate milestone after milestone.
We got to experience our first convention with him, his first meet and greet, his first (and last) off collabs. We got through many ups and downs together.
And now as we prepare to part ways we ask; what is a legacy?
To the mystakes Mysta’s legacy is his passion, his cleverness, how creative he is. It’s his ideals, how he always stayed true to himself. It's how he supported us while we supported him, it's how he was a constant source of inspiration.
What is a legacy?
To the mystakes Mysta’s legacy will be the love he showed us, the wisdom he shared with us, and the community that he brought together.
For Mysta perhaps his legacy were the things he accomplished during his career. Perhaps it was the memories he made or the people he met. Perhaps it was the journey we went on with Mysta.
So who is to say what makes a legacy?
The mystakes themselves, who witnessed a legacy in the making? Or Mysta himself as he prepares to start the next chapter of his life?
Stories. Memories. A legacy. May Mysta’s future be bright and happy wherever life takes him.
