Ming, whose headspace regressed to three years old, was sitting on the living room couch one evening. She was coloring in her Bear in the Big Blue House coloring book and sucking on her pacifier.
Jin came out of the kitchen with a plate of apple slices and a sippy cup of angel milk.
"Hey, sweetheart," Jin said as he sat next to Ming. He then set the plate and bottle down on the TV tray next to the couch.
"Daddy, I colored this," Ming said as she held up the coloring book and showed Jin the page she colored in. It was a picture of Bear and Shadow.
"Oh, wow! That looks beautiful! I think you should become an artist someday," Jin praised as he booped Ming's nose, causing her to giggle.
"Thank you, Daddy," Ming said as she began cleaning up and putting her coloring book and crayons away.
"You're welcome. I made you a bedtime snack to start off your bedtime routine once you get done cleaning up."
Ming smiled as she tidied up and put everything back where it belonged. Once the short cleanup time was finished, Ming walked back over to Jin and gave him a hug. She sat back down on the couch and Jin set the TV tray in front of her. However, she looked down warily at the snack.
"What's wrong? Are you not hungry?" Jin asked.
Ming nodded as she looked at her sippy cup, but then looked down at the floor.
"Bottle..." Ming muttered.
"Hm?" Jin asked. "Can you speak up a little louder, please?"
"Bottle," Ming said again, a bit louder this time.
"You want your milk in a bottle instead?"
Ming nodded, but looked down at the floor again.
"But I'm three... too big..." Ming said.
"Ming, sweetie, it's okay if you want a bottle instead of a sippy cup," Jin softly smiled. "I'm sure there are many little ones your age that like to drink from bottles."
"Really?"
Jin nodded and kissed Ming's forehead.
"Can I pour the milk in a bottle for you?" Jin offered.
Ming nodded.
Jin got up and grabbed the sippy cup from the tray. He went into the kitchen and grabbed a baby bottle from one of the kitchen cabinets. He poured the milk out of the sippy cup and into the bottle. He then put the sippy cup in the sink.
Jin returned to the living room and put the bottle on the TV tray.
"Thank you," Ming said with a small smile and began eating her snack and drinking her milk.
"You're welcome," Jin said as he grabbed the TV remote and turned the TV on to Sesame Park.
