Disclaimer: I do not own “The Kane Chronicles”, they belong to Rick Riordan.
In this story, I decided to make it that, a few months after the events from canon, Walt and Anubis managed to find a way to “separate” their bodies and return to being two different people (god in Anubis’ case). Personally, I didn’t particularly like the fact that they merged together, even if it was to save Walt, because I felt like Anubis’ character was kind of “set to the side”, so I chose to make it that they were different people. Sadie and Walt will not be dating in this one (unlike Sadie and Anubis) because in my AU they decided that they were better off as friends and not lovers. I like Walt as a character, but personally I saw him more as a friend to Sadie than a lover.
I got this idea by looking at different fan-fictions where the characters from PJO, HOO and other book/TV series reacted to their content. I haven’t seen one for “The Kane Chronicles” yet, except for one which wasn’t completed nor very detailed, meaning that it was just general and didn’t go into the details of the chapters (no shame to the author, it was quite good). Therefore I decided to take matters into my own hands and write it myself.
Reminder: this is an AU, it follows the events from canon (at least, the end of it since this story is located after the end of the third book) but I changed a few things (such as the relationship between Sadie, Walt and Anubis). The rest of the ships will be the ones present in the books and made official by the author. In addition, I wrote this with some personal headcanons for the characters.
I will divide this “Kane Chronicles characters read their books” into a series of three fan-fictions, one for each book. However, since rewriting the entirety of the three books would take far too long and I don’t want troubles with copyright and whatnot, I decided to skip some lines, making sure that even without them the story will still make sense. Where I will skip some parts, I will put a […], so that you know that I skipped some “irrelevant” parts.
I will try to update this story at least once a month, but I make no promises about it. It really depends on how long a chapter is and on what goes on in my life. But I will try to update and complete this story.
