Chapter Text
Prince charming rode as fast as he could towards his true love, his feet in the stirrups as he pushed forwards through the forest on his trusted stallion. The continuous drumming of the horses hooves along the road as the horse canters echoed all around him, the sparkling blue of sea accompanying either side of him until he soon found himself entering a forest. He pushed harder, kicking the horses sides as he carried forwards. The dark brown of the trees blurred together with the light green moss covering some of them and the plants on the ground that he weaved through, it might have been as though his vision was blurry or unfocused, but the Prince had never seen so clearly in his life. His dark red velvet cloak billowed behind him as he rode, the wind created by how fast he was moving moving it behind him, not that he paid any attention to that, he had a job to do.
The sun was just about to rise over the realm, casting a warm glow despite there being a fresh blanket of Snow coating the ground, partially hiding the natural brown surface of the earth deep in the woods. He continued to ride, twigs snapping under the weight of the horse, the horses hoofprints left behind in dirt and Snow, the Prince's blood was warm, heated by the adrenaline rushing through his system as he raced to his love before it was too late, the determination to get to her with each passing second only grew greater.
He tugged on the reigns and eased the horse to a stop, though wasted no time swinging his leg over as he saw a bunch of dwarves huddled around something between a series of trees. His boots crunched in the Snow as he dismounted. The sound of that alerted the dwarves to somebody else's presence and they turned around all at the same time to see the Prince running towards them. The prince had barely come to a stop when a dwarf with a white beard and a red hat spoke to him. "You're too late." He said, he believed in his words, peering at the prince worriedly over his small glasses, sadness evident in his voice and on his face as the dwarf turned around and stepped to the side, finally allowing the Prince to see what they were gathered around. Prince charming teared up slightly as he looked at Snow who was in the glass coffin, the dark vines weaving over the top, her pale skin reflected in the glass above her. "No." He exclaimed, he rushed forward, left hand on the handle of his sword to keep it from getting out of control. "No!" He yelled, this couldn't be true, it was never too late. He stepped a little closer looking down at her, her white dress fitted perfectly on her slim body, long raven hair cascading over her shoulders which highlighted the fairness to her skin, her hands gently resting on her chest, ome hand over the other, her soft delicate features definitely making her the fairest of them all. His eyes gathered more tears as his eyes scanned over her, the woman he loved, taken away from him, and he hadn't been able to stop it, he'd lost her. "Open it." He said with a slight shake of his head, he refused to believe that she wasn't coming back to him. Grumpy didn't hesitate, a slight firmness but also softness to his voice, not wishing to upset the Prince. "I'm sorry, she's gone." He told the Prince.
Prince Charming reached out, his hands resting on the wooden work of the coffin. He hung his head, fingers gently tracing over the wood slightly, he sighed slowly, he knew it was true, she was gone, they had lost. He looked up slowly to the three dwarves stood in front of him at the other side, eyes red with how much he'd been crying, his shoulders dropped slightly. "At least let me say goodbye." He said softly, he was ready to admit that the Queen had won, he'd never get over losing her, but he had been defeated, and so had she. A tear ran down his face. The dwarf exchanged a small glance with his brother's and after a moment the tree of them moved off from leaning on the glass case, the three grabbed it and slowly started to move the lid off, exposing Snow White's face to the chilly air and falling snowflakes.
The Prince's brows furrowed in sadness, his eyes gazing upon the woman laying before him, her rosy cheeks deceiving him into believing that there was a chance he would have her back, what he'd give to see her smile, to hear her laugh, to embrace her fiery spirit just once more. He shook his head slightly, slowly stepping forward and bracing himself on the edge of the coffin, his slow exhaled breath showing as a cloud of white smoke in the air. He leaned down, his heart filling to the brim with sorrow. He lowered himself down, eyes closed and pressed a soft kiss to the princesses lips. With his eyes closed he didn't see the flicker of light around him, almost as if the sky wanted to change colour. His lips stayed pressed to hers for a few seconds, the next thing the prince and all the dwarves felt around them was a rippling surging through their bodies, a ghost of wind slightly russling the Prince's cape.
True love's kiss.
The sky around them seemed to brighten, a curse had been lifted for sure. He pulled away, heart still aching, that was until the Prince heard a soft gasp as he pulled away and Snow White opened her eyes. He studied her for a moment, he couldn't believe it, she was awake, he smiled slowly, the grin reaching both ends of his face as he watched her. Snow let out another soft gasp, chest heaving as the new air filled her lungs, she closed her eyes and let out a quick sigh of relief, almost amused. She opened her eyes and turned to look up and see her Prince. She soon felt the Prince's hand gently running over the top of her head, his fingers gently threading through her black hair, still panted slightly, still trying to catch her breath. "You..." She spoke quietly, almost a whisper as she studied him, almost in shock that he had somehow, yet again, managed to save her.
The word alone made the Prince smile wider and he felt like crying feeling hand hand on his cheek. Snow smiling up at him now too. "You found me." She said, her voice much steadier and stronger, recovering slowly from being under the curse. David leaned slightly into her touch, his right hand coming up to gently grab onto her arm that was lifted up to him. She slid her hand down and held onto his hand, using it to help pull herself up so she wasn't laying down anymore. "Did you ever doubt I would?" He asked Snow, his voice deep but filled with happiness and a Newfound hope.
Snow sat up with a small smile, her rosy cheeks now blushing pink from the cold. Her eyes were locked on the sight of his lips for a moment as she sat up, nothing but love in her eyes for her Prince. "Truthfully?" She asked with a small hint of amusement and disbelief. She watched as the Prince pressed his lips together in a thin line, her eyes going to them once again. "The glass coffin gave me pause." She replied, her voice going softer towards the end, her right hand going up to cup the Prince's cheek once again as he broke into a wide smile. Her fingers gently traced along his cheek as he shook his head at her. "Well, you never have to worry. I will always find you." He said gently, his left hand coming up to slightly brush some hair behind her ear, his hand gently resting on the side of her neck for a moment, Snow just smiling up at him. His other hand came up to gently brush over Snow's head and stroke her hair. "Do you promise?" She asked softly slightly shaking her head, adoration filled in her voice, love in her eyes as she looked at him.

"I do."
The Prince wore a light and gray outfit befitting his title, he was finally getting what he wanted when he first saw her slip on his mother's ring, for her to permanently wear it, for her to take his hand in marriage, and here they were. As he said the words to Snow in front of him, holding onto her hands covered in elbow length white gloves, he gave them a small squeeze as the dark skinned man between them continued the ceremony. "And do you, Snow White, promise to take this man to be your husband? And love him for all eternity?" He asked, announcing the bonding of the two people to the room filled with people, the kingdom's people who had come to see their beloved Princess married.
Snow shook her head with a smile playing on her lips, to this day he still took her breath away. "I do." The two smiled at each other, Snow in her white dress with a feathered bottom of the dress slightly flowing behind her and him in his elegant tunic, Snow couldn't have been happier to say them words to the man she loved with all her heart. "I now pronounce you husband and wife." The subjects in the hall began to clap, their smiles growing and some cheering happily at the ceremony as it came to a close. The two were about to share a kiss when they were a disrupted by a loud bang, the sound of doors opening. They turned their heads in sync to look towards them, their lips never having the chance to meet, for now they saw what, more specifically, who, had disrupted their wedding.
The Evil Queen.
The room filled with gasps, and despite the guards around the people to stop them getting too close, the people quickly took a few steps back at the sight of her. The Queen simply stood there, her magnificent black dress hugging her body, hands down by her sides as she flicked her cape slightly behind her, her hair tied up at the top of her head and the rest of the black length flowing down one shoulder to cover her collarbone. Her black dress glittered in the golden light, the sparkles on her shoulder pauldrons gleaming almost as bright as the dark glint in her eyes. A black necklace fastened around her necklace and hanging just above her chest. More specifically, the dress didn't seem to be a dress at all, the top layer fixed to her long cloak behind her, fastened by a few dark buttons across her abdomen, a tight black and silver corset beneath that and a pair of leather trousers too.
Snow placed a hand on the Prince's chest slightly worried. She was scared of why she had come, she certainly wasn't invited, and this day almost hadn't happened because of her. The Evil Queen tilted her chin up a little, her blood red lipstick catching a glint off the light as she did so. "Sorry I'm late." Her eyes were fixed on the couple, her voice slow and menacing as she began to walk towards them. Her strides were long and quick, sauntering in like she owned the place, the people she passed refusing to look at her or even attempt to meet her gaze, she intimidated everyone there, her hips swayed side to side that sung a song of power and dominance.
Two of the guards who had been present in the hall near the Prince and Princess ran forward to stop the intruder. Their boots thudding along the floor which echoed around the room, silver helmets gleaming at the top from the light coming through the stained patterned windows behind them. Their swords were drawn and they went to attack the Queen. They were halfway through the attack when Regina extended her arms out to the side, fingers pointing to either side of the group of people beside her. They two guards, who didn't stand a chance in the first place flew high off the air to the side, cream coloured caped billowing behind them as they received their free flying lesson. A few screams filled the room as Snow watched in horror as the Evil Queen started her damage, her eyes wide and mouth hanging open in silent terror, hand still pressed to her husband's torso as she watched the guards quickly dealt with, she followed one of them with her eyes trying to see if he was hurt then her eyes snapped back to the approaching woman, almost upset and angered that she could do easily hurt others.
A dwarf, Doc, who was attending the wedding with his fellow brothers took a few steps forward, his round glasses perched on the tip of his nose, his forehead covered with the red hat he wore. "It's the Queen, run!" He exclaimed as he tried to hide how scared he was, especially for Snow, The Queen had almost won once, what was to stop her from doing so again. Grumpy beside him had a hand next to his eye, cupped slightly around it so his view of the Evil Queen was blocked, not risking anything.
The Prince slowly looked to his wife before he turned to face The Queen, his hand resting gently on Snows back as she took turned, her brows furrowed together and almost looking like she was filled with anger. Snow turned and she grabbed the hilt of the sword that was in a sheathe attached to the Prince's belt, taking a small step forward and pointing the Sword towards the wedding crashed. "She's not a Queen anymore." She said, her voice loud enough for everyone to hear, she spoke calm and steady, she had faith she would defeat her again if she needed to. The Prince took a small step back almost in shock at his wife holding the sword. Snow watched as the Queen got closer, so close she was almost at the tip of the sword aimed for her, her eyes fixed on the silver weapon and an almost amused smile playing on her lips. "She's nothing more than an evil witch!" She said, her voice soothing with annoyance and slight anger towards the Queen.
Prince Charming soon remedied his step back from her and came to stand beside her, where he would always be from now on. "No. Don't stoop to her level. There's no need." He said in a hushed whisper, his hand reaching around the front of her body, his hand gently wrapping around her wrist, Snow dropped her hand, lowering the sword back down by her side, almost looking in disbelief at the Queen, she certainly had some guts to come here. David carefully wrapped his hand around the pommel of his sword and took it away from his wife as he stared at the Queen. "You're wasting your time." He spoke up, his free hand wrapped around Snow's waist. "You've already lost." He said and took a small step to be standing in front of Snow to gave the Queen head on while she slowly walked closer and blinked at him with a smirk. "And I will not let you ruin this wedding." Snow White placed her hand on the Prince's as they both watched the Evil Queen wondering what she was plotting.
"Oh, I haven't come here to ruin anything." The Evil Queen said in an almost sicky sweet voice, a small twisted smile forming on the corner of her lips as she watched the two of them, the action almost making her look like her mother. "On the contrary, dear." She said taking a small step forward, the sound of her shoe hitting the floor as she stepped forward filled the room, all the people who had come to witness a beautiful wedding now had their heads bowed and their mouths shut to afraid to make an ounce of noise in her presence. "I've come to give you a gift." She told them.
Snow shook her head quickly, voice firm and as steady as she could in the room, she couldn't let her people see that she was worried about anything that The Evil Queen might do. "We want nothing from you." She said, her arm gently gripping onto Charmings left arm just above the elbows. "But you shall have it!" The Evil Queen smirked, her eyes lingering on the couple for a moment longer. She turns her body to the side "My gift to you..." She stars as she began slightly walking towards the spectators in the hall, almost as if to taunt them knowing that no one wanted to start anything with her. "Is this happy, happy day..." She said as she smirked seeing the way that people were shielding their eyes from her. The Evil Queen then turns to the other side and walks to the others who also shuffle away from her in fear. "For tomorrow my real work begins." At this, Snow's hand tightens around the Prince's arm.
She looks at David and Snow upon the podium "You've made your vows...now I make mine! " she looks at then in disgust "Soon everything you love, everything all of you love will be taken from you...forever." she told them, her eyes boring into Snow's once again. She could tell that Snow was worried, curious but worried, their eyes never leaving each others and how Snow's breathing had seemed to pick up. "And out of your suffering...will rise my victory." She told them triumphantly, Snow glancing briefly at her prince as she told them this. She takes a small step forward and her face looked like it had been set in stone. "I will destroy your happiness, if it is the last thing I do." She warned them as she leaned forward slightly, a very personal threat towards the two of them. She turns around using her hand to swiftly flick her back and red feathered cake behind her.
This time Prince Charming looks at Snow and then back to the Evil Queen who was now walking back down the Isle. "Hey!" he shouts making Snow jump a little and pull away wondering what he was doing. The Evil Queen briefly stopped walking and turned around to look at him. He raised the sword above his head and he launched it forward with a little grunt, throwing it at The Evil Queen. The sword spun hilt over tip as it raced towards her though the only reaction The Evil Queen gave to the Prince was a smirk playing upon her lips as the prince straightened back up. The Evil Queen then disappeared in a cloud of black smoke, disappearing alongside the sword that didn't hit her in time.
The crowd murmured and Snow stood by her husband's side as he knelt down, resting his left arm on the adjacent knee. He quickly stood up pushing his cloak aside slightly and he then held onto Snow's arm once again still staring at the space where The Evil Queen had stood still slightly unable to believe what had just happened. He briefly glanced at Snow feeling her hand on his chest and saw that her mouth was slightly open in shock too, or perhaps it was terror for what The Evil Queen was planning.
