Here I lay.. Awake.

Summary:

Bonnie couldn’t sleep. He feels better after calling his boyfriends, a bit shitty that he called them in the middle of the night, but he feels better.

Notes:

Random burst of energy that I had but I hope you enjoy reading!

Work Text:

Five tablets of melatonin later and Bonnie was still awake. A normal person would be dead asleep, even if they were a light sleeper, nothing would be able to wake them. A normal person wouldn't have to down five tablets of melatonin

A quick google search told him he could take at least thirty tablets if need be. But why would he? If two tablets didn’t put him to sleep, would twenty-eight help? Most likely not.

He didn’t know why he couldn’t sleep. He thought it was more gender dysphoria, that happens sometimes in the middle of the night. At times he’d dared to sleep with his binder on, yeah he’d suffocate a little but it did more good to his mental state than harm. More harm to his body than good.. But Bonnie never really cared. And if it wasn’t because of his chest, it was because of his bottom part.

Can’t really do anything about that yet.. at least not now. Sorry brain.

But it didn’t feel like a body thing. It was like his body wasn’t tired, even after all that band stuff earlier. Maybe it’s because he took a short nap on Freddy’s shoulder. Naps were weird.

Though it seems naps were the only source of sleep his body could get as it refuses to rest throughout the night.

Bonnie sighs and he rolls onto his stomach, groaning into his pillow. Blankets were half thrown off him, leaving his skin exposed to the chilly atmosphere of his room. It was a dumb decision cause he hates the cold, but it was humid outside because it’s been raining for the past week. But he was also so hot .

It seems his body couldn’t choose anything at the moment! Hot or cold? Tired or not? It didn’t make sense. He also hated the fact that he wanted to text his boyfriends, it was 1:07 AM. Normal people would sleep.

He hated himself as he clicked into the group chat with both Monty and Freddy, raising his thumb to pull the menu down and tapping the call button.

It rang once, twice, four times. Bonnie thought he was being a bother. He couldn’t sleep, why would he drag his boyfriends into his problems? He does that enough already.

About to give up and quickly text the group chat claiming the call was an accident, the sound of audible shuffling and Freddy’s voice comes from the speaker.

“Hello..?”

Fuck he was sleeping-

“Shit, sorry!” Bonnie mutters, gripping his phone and hiding his face into the pillows. He wanted to hang up but typical Freddy could feel the tension.

“Don’t be, what’s wrong?”

“Nothing’s wrong.. It was an accident..” Nice going, Bonnie.. You called and you can’t even stay on the phone.

Another voice, deep and smooth chuckled. “Babe, you wouldn’t call for nothing.”

Bonnie bites his lip before muttering, “..Can’t sleep..” and smothers his head back underneath his blankets.

“Aww..” Monty cooed.

“Is everything okay?” Freddy asks, his bed creaking as he shifts, a soft clicking sound of his lamp. Bonnie peaked out from his cocoon. He could see the light highlight the side of Freddy’s face.

“Yeah.. Took some medicine and it hasn’t really kicked me yet..” Bonnie explains quietly. “I’m sorry.. it’s stupid.”

“Non’ of that now, bunny.” The pet name sent zaps down Bonnie’s spine. “We’re both glad you called instead of sitting there alone.” Freddy hummed in agreement.

“I woke the two of you up..” Bonnie mumbled, his voice muffled from his pillow.

“I just got in bed.” Monty argued.

“I had an early bedtime.” Freddy notes.

“Still..”

“Do you want us to stay on until you fall asleep?” Monty asks softly, his voice always dropping an octave when he speaks. Bonnie wanted to rest his head on his chest just to feel the vibrations. Damit, why did they have to be in three different places?

“..Yes.. Please.”

There was silence after that. It was a comfortable silence. Bonnie knew Monty and Freddy were listening to him as he shifted and turned on his bed. Small conversations about what they were gonna do tomorrow, Bonnie jokingly said he’d take a nap to which both Monty and Freddy agreed when they would stop by.

Bonnie rambled about useless things that pissed him off earlier. Like the fact his neighbor’s cat hisses at him for no reason. That got a chuckle out of Monty, cause his own cat didn’t seem to favor Bonnie unlike Freddy. Dogs seemed to hate Bonnie too. Animals in general did not like Bonnie.

He didn’t know what he did to piss them off!

Freddy butts in by saying all he needs to do is find the pet for him. Monty suggests that he should just have a fish at this point.

Bonnie didn’t know how much time had passed until he felt his eyelids becoming more of a chore to keep open. His breathing slowed and became steady and his sentences had more pauses in the middle than before. He didn’t have time to mutter a ‘goodnight’ to either Monty or Freddy before he fell asleep.

XxX

Monty chuckled after pausing to listen for those deep and steady breaths from Bonnie’s end of the call. “Out like a light.”

“Good. He needed it.” Freddy yawns. “I know he thinks we’re blind, but he hasn’t been sleeping well for the past two weeks.” He mutters. Between band rehearsal and free time, Bonnie always seemed to be up and moving, never taking time to slow down and take a breather.

“Oh he’s taking a nap tomorrow, don’t worry.” Monty would sit on him if he had to. Either that or put him in a headlock until Bonnie went to sleep.

“Yes. Yes he will.” Freddy agrees. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“Hmh. Night Freddy.” Monty whispers, finally placing his phone on the bed, leaving the screen up.

“Night Monty.”

“Goodnight Bonnie.” A quiet snore answered them.
