Chapter Text

Prologue

The multiverse is home to an infinite number of possibilities, it is these possibilities that caused the existence of multiple Earths, and another realm within Cyberspace known as the Digital World. The malleable nature of data and artificial constructs such as the Digital World can cause all kinds of things to happen with a direct impact on Earth.

Throughout the age of computers, people have travelled to the Digital World that is the counterpart to its respective Earth. Many beings that traverse these plains don't realise that there are multiple multiverses. All of these multiverses are collectively a part of the Omniverse. With the Omniverse, possibilities aren't just infinite, they are unlimited.

In one of the more remote Digital Worlds, beings of incredible power were conversing as they looked for a candidate. The beings appeared in the form of a gold eye and a chrome eye, they glowed as they spoke through a digital link, they had with each other.

The golden eye was searching for likely candidates while his counterpart was using her time to look for an unlikely candidate. "We've searched over 1 trillion, 38 billion, 9 million, 6 thousand, 2 hundred and 7 different multiverses, dimensions and worlds. Yet none of the candidates are a perfect fit." The Golden Eye said as he used a digital screen to look at a green version of Earth.

The Chrome Eye looked around for different individuals, she was looking for someone skilled yet flawed in a useful way. "Our mission will not fail," she suddenly glowed a bunch of colours. "I've found one," the Chrome Eye showed her candidate to the Golden Eye.

The Golden Eye was unsure, "she's flawed. We need a perfect individual so that the whole can survive. We need perfection, perfection that I can give tools to for our mission." The Golden Eye stated at Chrome Eye.

"It is that reason that we need a candidate with flaws. She is balanced yet unimportant to the course of her world, and our goal was to always find a candidate who wouldn't disrupt balance." The Chrome Eye could tell that her counterpart was calculating odds like a computer.

It took a few minutes before Golden Eye answered, "Very well. We shall test Your Candidate. Should this one fail the test, we'll need to initiate a system R.E.S.E.T." Golden Eye and Chrome Eye looked at a Digimon that looked half good and half evil.

The two beings spoke in unison, "bring our candidate to the Digital World of Earth 6."

The Digimon bowed, left and Golden Eye vanished. (Our Knights need a new member; I know that the world will be restored.)

Chapter 1-Destino (means Destiny in Spanish)

On a distant world, a young warrior in her teens was busy training, she was a decent sword fighter that pushed herself every day. Though a generally calm individual, she was impatient with practicing and eager to prove herself on the battlefield. Her name was Mona.

Mona looked a lot like Grace Quade: Brown eyes, mixed race complexion and long dark brown hair but was about 14 in ages. The difference between herself and Grace was her current experiences and abilities she had gained so far from her adopted parents.

She wore armour similar to her parents but when she wasn’t training, she’d wear long-sleeved purple and white shirt with an uneven two tower symbol on the hem, brown trousers and red boots with gold lining on her shirt and red gloves.

She and her adopted parents, Amaya and Gren lived at the fortress near the border to Xadia with the Standing Battalion, one of the powerful armies of Katolis (however Gren and Amaya are not married, just great friends).

When possible, Gren would accompany Mona to the kingdom of Katolis to have breaks from training and getting to see Prince Callum and Ezran on occasion.

Gren had taught her how to use American Sign Language (what they use in universe) to be able to communicate with Amaya.

Gren had red hair, blue eyes, and fair skin littered with freckles wearing grey and gold full armour.

He was the lieutenant in the army and Amaya’s interpreter, he was the real life equivalent of Canadian as a Katolian (possibly). He had a Vancouver Canadian accent. Mona, due to growing up with his voice half the time, got the same accent as well.

Amaya was the General of the army and was the real life equivalent of Asian as a Katolian.

Her older sister had been the queen of Katolis and the princes’ mother.

Amaya had short, dark brown hair, brown eyes, and fair skin with a scar below her right eye wearing full grey armour, with a large shield on her back.

Amaya had a deep-seated hatred for Xadia and its inhabitants (Dragons, Elves and anything that used any of the 6 primal sources: Sun, sky, ocean, moon, stars and earth) along with disdain.

Mona had been taught about what both soldiers knew about Xadia and had a small influence on her mindset about Dragons and elves specifically. Especially on the topic of dark magic, the thing that got humans banished from Xadia centuries ago.

Lately, she had unusual visions of a tree, a light and knights in armour she had never seen before. Last night she had a vision of what looked like a dragon, it was unusual because she hadn’t seen a dragon before since the Sky Dragon was killed 4 moons (In real time it was 9 years) ago and the egg was thought to have been destroyed.

She was writing in a journal before she fell asleep, ‘I've been having weird thoughts of knights and dragons lately... I try reaching out to them, but they vanish... Am I just daydreaming of glory? Maybe? But is any of it real, or not?’….

She went to bed and something unusual happened.

The girl was busy sleeping, in a dream she had she was asleep and falling through an abyss until she ended up close to the border that was a lava river.

The experience was realistic yet strange and dreamy, she was wearing an old outfit of Her's, it was purple and white which was unusual. She never would've gotten purple armour, so she settled for her old outfit, but it seemed to have more pockets around the chest than she remembered. Her adopted mother gave her a necklace with the symbol of their kingdom on it.

She saw her adopted mother standing on the edge of the border with Thunder, the sky dragon behind her.

She turned smiled to Mona and extended her right hand. Mona tried to call out, but a massive storm was coming for them. Mona ran to her adopted mother swiftly, the storm rained on them, yet Amaya stood cool and confident. Mona struggled to get back to her adopted mother, but she couldn't escape a pull that was drawing her away. She fell into the lava but ended up in a different location with just small streams of sun light to see anything.

When she landed on the ground and moved her right leg, the ground changed like magic with a beam of light.

Mona looked down and noticed the ground looked like it was Forest mixed with Earth with images of Katolis, Amaya, Gren and Ezran in small circles. She looked around and heard what sounded like two voices, "You've finally arrived. There is so much to do, so little Time..." Mona looked around and tried talking but she couldn't hear her voice.

From memory she used American sign language to express herself. (Who is there? Show yourself? Is this a dream?)

The voices continued to speak, "it’s okay. Take your time. Don't be afraid." A beam of light glowed. "Step towards the light and we will begin to open the door." Mona reluctantly did so.

When she reached the light, she used sign language. (Alright... If you can see me or read what I'm saying with my hands... Well I'm here. What next?!)

Suddenly a pedestal came out of the ground and it had a sword, a second one appeared with a primal stone and a third with a crossbow. "Power Sleeps inside you. If you give it form it will give you strength. Choose what you wish to gain and what you are willing to exchange for it?" The two voices said to Mona.

She went towards the sword and took it because she felt drawn to it.

Shortly after Mona made her choice, the other weapons vanished and the entire ground shook, Earth and Wood shot out of the ground and broke away. Mona went into a freefall until she landed on a new surface.

She looked around the area and learned that the area strange seemed to have an invisible barrier, beyond the barrier was nothingness, the barrier made a diamond shape that intrigue Mona. She looked at the ground, it seemed like it was Water mixed with Air, the air seemed like a cloud at first glance. (Why am I having a dream with water?) She wondered to herself.

"Now that you wield power, test it." The two voices said as Mona sliced at the air a couple times. "Very good. Know that you shall only use this power to defend yourself and others, never use it with malice." Shortly after the voices said as a green slimy monster suddenly appeared, it was a foot tall, had a green body with two eye-stocks, two small hands and a huge tongue that stuck out. It jumped at Mona and began throwing acidic slime in her direction.

Mona stood ready to defend herself. “Take this!” she cried while using her sword and in two slices the slime was defeated, the remains turned into magical particles before fading away.

The voices spoke as Mona's sword suddenly turned into a strange object; she assumed it was a talisman. "There will be times when you can't always fight. During these times, you'll need to give your strength to others." A small dragon creature made out of pure light appeared, it wore a red cape and golden glowing eyes. The dragon defended Mona from more of the slime monsters. When the dragon was done defending after getting hit, it went into the talisman and Mona put it away. "Very good. You are learning." The ground beneath Mona lost stability, the water was calm, yet the air pulled her down.

I got to stay strong! she thought.

Eventually she crashed on to a surface. The ground looked like it was Thunder (represented by electricity) mixed with Ice.

The voices spoke to Mona, "there are many gates you will pass through on your quest. These gates will require you to have determination, strength and a pure Heart and Soul." Suddenly an arching gate appeared, Mona decided to examine it. She took out the talisman, aimed it at the gate and a pathway of green and blue opened up. "One day you'll open the gate and return home. But for now, you will focus on the gate to Destiny." Shortly after the voices said that Mona appeared in the castle of the Kingdom she is from.

She was taken aback as she found herself in the courtyard, the King and Queen were there, waiting for her. “Your majesties?!" She was shocked because the King and Queen from her kingdom had died (The Queen had a statue and The King had recently been assassinated), yet here they were before her.

The King was giving off a golden glow, while The Queen was giving off a chrome glow. "Tell us more about yourself." The King said as he looked at the confused Mona. "How would you best describe yourself as a person?"

“I…I’m a determined fighter who wants to live up to the great general and lieutenant, my parents” Mona replied.

The King nodded, "intriguing." Mona wasn't expecting such a word.

The Queen spoke and seemed very luminous. "What do you desire most in life? What are your intentions?"

“I wish to help defend the border and protect everyone from Xadia” Mona stated, firmly.

The Queen was silent for a moment. "You have high expectations for yourself. You have a deep love for the people who raised you. These things have motivated you to protect the people you love and the innocent." The Queen said to Mona.

The King sounded emotionless for a moment as he said, "you have your ideals focused on the here and now. Limited by a simple vision. You want to defend the innocent; yet you have much to learn on the meaning of it." Mona was taken aback by the comment.

The King and The Queen spoke simultaneously. "Soon you'll pass through the Gate. Once you leave you cannot return on your own free will." Mona was suddenly transported away.

She landed on a surface that looked like Flame mixed with Steel. What is with these weird surfaces?, Mona thought to herself as she got up.

She saw more of the weird slime monsters, she fought them and suddenly the white dragon from before appeared. The two fought side by side until the monsters were gone. The sword turned into the talisman and the dragon went back into it. The two voices spoke again, "you can work with others. But not all of your challenges can be easily overcome." A beam of light glowed on top of Mona, she felt completely well and saw the Light turn into Darkness.

The Darkness was beginning to cover the area, a Light guided Mona on to stairs, the Darkness consumed the stairs until she landed on a platform made of pure Light and Darkness. It looked like the symbol for Yin & Yang. (What's the deal with... I can't deal with dreams this weird.) She looked around and heard the voices speak.

"Within every Heart and Soul, there is Light and Darkness." A giant monster with multiple eyes came out of the Darkness, it had terrible teeth and a horrid stench to it. "In the World you'll enter. The Light and Darkness is out of balance, with evil dominant." Mona was unsure what to make of it. "When you fight evil, you'll need the help of your Partner. Others will fight beside you." The dragon returned, Mona aimed a beam of Light from the talisman at the dragon, it made him become bigger and stronger.

She liked this dragon, it may have been sharp around the edges, but it was giving its all, to defend her. (Show that beast you're strong and brave!) She thought to herself as the dragon destroyed the beast.

Suddenly two hands came up, one was the Darkness within the Light and the other was the Light within the Darkness. The hands grabbed Mona, initially she felt some kind of ooze like liquid from the two entities. But it became strange, like it was made from a multitude of blocks and her body was becoming like the blocks, so small individually nobody could notice them unless they moved in mass. The blocks were able to form something, whole.

A female voice spoke as Mona was being dragged down between Light and Darkness. "You have been through much." Mona struggled as she was pulled down. "There is much for you to learn in this new World." For a moment, Mona could've sworn she saw spheres shaped like an eye glowing gold and an eye glowing chrome. "You will face powerful True Evil on your quest. But don't be afraid," the voice paused while Mona was trying to make sense of the strange sensation she was feeling. It was unearthly and made her heart pound in her chest. "You are the one, who will restore the Worlds." Everything went dark for a long while, there was the sound of a volcano, and then oceans and finally a windy desert while Mona rested.

Deep in a windy desert, a lone being was wandering. She was purposefully on her own, trying to find her own path. The being was white with dark blue claws, gold eyes, and white horns.  She was currently walking on all fours. After all, it was common for a dragon to do so. (I will show that old man. I can do things in my own.) She thought to herself as she glared out at the winds, she wore protective goggles that prevented her from harmed. While she roamed the desert, the winds without any warning just stopped!

Out in the distance, a being was on the cool desert sands, she was asleep and looked like she had fallen into a deep sleep. The dragon went to check on the being, the being reminded the dragon of people she knows. "Mmm..." The being was starting to wake up.

The dragon sniffed the being, as she smelled her, she was able to confirm that she was looking at a human. She smelled like a pure blood, the dragon snorted dust filled air out of her nostrils and into the face of the human. "Wake up! Hey! I said wake up!" The human slowly opened her eyes and saw a white armoured skin dragon with dark blue claws, gold eyes, and ebony horns. It was wearing a red cloak with a hood that has goggles embedded in it. The dragon was roughly half the size of a full-grown human.

"You're a DRAGON?!" Mona exclaimed.

"You're a HUMAN! Do you realise how annoying that sounds?" Somehow the dragon understood Mona and spoke in the same language as her, or rather it sounded like the same language. "Why are you here?"

"I don't know. What is this place?!" Mona cried.

I'm actually with a dragon! She thought.

Although as she thought this, she instinctively raised her sword at it.

The dragon snorted, "You brain fried or something?" She asked while giving Mona an odd look. "This is the Digital World, the only world worth living in these days." The dragon sounded like she was a girl.

"Digital....World? I am not from here, you arrogant beast! Stop being so harsh!" Mona moaned.

Mona felt intense heat from the sun for but a moment, she was a bit speechless to see so much sand and dried up rock. "I'm not arrogant you brat. I happen to know that your kind are soft." Suddenly a small elf like creature appeared, it was humanoid with pointy ears and was small enough to ride on the back of the dragon. The elf made a few chirps like a bird before giggling at Mona. "A Digi-Elf?" The dragon said as she looked at the little being.

Mona slowly backed away from the elf and reached for her sword.

"There's an elf there? But they're supposed be in Xadia! Stay back!" Mona shouted.

The elf was shocked by this reaction.

"Are....you ok?" Then the dragon realised what was happening.

"I'm gonna make you get used to Elves here" the Dragon proclaimed.

"You can't force me to accept them! They want to start a war! They probably already have!" Mona cried.

The Digi-Elf screamed and literally vanished into thin air. The dragon snorted at Mona, "I get it now. You're just a puppet made by WaruMonzaemon, sent to kill the last of the few Digi-Elves still alive since their cities were destroyed." The dragon pulled her goggles over her eyes. "As a defender of the weak. I, Hackmon, will not let this slide." She growled while scraping the ground, as if she was preparing to charge.

"I don't know who that is, beast!" Mona shouted, honestly in fear.

Hackmon scratched the ground, ‘Stop calling me a beast. I am a Digimon!" She charged and the two literally butted heads together, they both started jumping up and down with pain. "Ow! Man, you have a thick skull. Saying a lot since my scales are metal." She rubbed her head and horns.

"Your head is cold. Why on earth am I here?!" Mona demanded.

Hackmon looked around for a moment. "Funny, I'm cold in the middle of a desert." She then wondered, "only way to tell you anything is if my sisters show up. They will clarify anything." In the distance, the two heard what sounded like a chariot.

Mona turned in the direction of the sound.

Maybe I'll finally get some answers about why I'm here , she thought.

As the chariot came closer, it had black colouring, a teenager jumped out of the chariot as it came closer. The teenager was wearing a klobuk in the shape of a black cat's head. She seemed to be a nun of sorts with silver eyes, she wore long black boots, a black and white skirt with crosses, she held two silver crosses that seemed to be weapons. "Oho how Hackmon is so annoyed by the pesky human. I will fire a few shots!" She pressed the crosses and projectiles came out of them. The projectiles were made of metal and exploded upon contact with the sand, some of them pierced straight through nearby rocks.

Hackmon grinned while charging at the human like being. "Here I come!" She laughed along with the human, the nun did a 360 in midair while jumping over Hackmon. She bent backwards and looked at Mona, "hello! My name is Noir!" The adorable black cat eyes on the top of her Klobuk, looked adorable for a moment while Noir looked at Mona. Noir's Klobuk is animate and changes based on Noir's emotions, giving Noir two sets of eyes.

"Um...I'm Mona. Please can you tell me why I'm in a place with dragons and elves?" Mona pleaded.

Noir fired random shots near Hackmon while looking at Mona. "You're in the Digital World. Everybody lives here." She then narrowed her eyes, though her car eyes on her Klobuk were trying to look serious they seemed adorable. "You played with Hackmon. And now it is my turn!" She flicked her short silver hair for a moment. "Say hello to my guns." She began shooting around the feet of Mona without warning. "Ahahahaha! Dance! We shall dance away!" The two of them seemed to dance as shots were fired.

Hackmon was getting upset. "Noir! Sis! We need this human... Whatever she is. We need her alive!" Hackmon stood in the way of Mona and glared down one of the gun barrels.

Noir had a look that told Mona that she was picking up on something. "You refuse to move?" Hackmon didn't need to talk, Noir could tell that she wasn't going to move, "very well." Noir put her two weapons away.

Suddenly a second chariot arrived, a girl dressed in pink and white clothing came out of it. She was carrying a golden pitchfork, she seemed very calm and quiet. "Noir." She said, Mona noticed her long silver hair that was mostly hidden by the clothing, the hair was down to her upper arms this girl was a couple years younger than Noir. Like Noir, she was wearing a Klobuk, this one was a pink bunny with angel wings on the tips of the ears. She wore long shifts boots and had on a white dress with golden crosses across her white skirt. "Um... Hello... Please accept my apologies and our apologies. My sister... Hackmon was supposed to train with us... She and my big sister Noir ran off..." The girl seemed a bit shy.

"Come on Blanc! Introduce yourself." Noir said to her sister.

Blanc looked at Mona with curiosity. "You're unusual." She said right before she hid behind Noir.

"And you're....something" Mona remarked.

Noir chuckled, "We're Digimon. Sistermon Noir & Sistermon Blanc. We're two of the Sistermon sisters!" She made a cool pose and Blanc looked awkward.

Hackmon smiled at the two, "you're the best sisters a Mon could ask for." For Digimon, regarding someone as Mon was the same as calling someone the man or the woman. "Now. Where were we..." She turned to Mona and showed her fangs while scratching at the ground.

Another being stepped out of the chariot. "Hackmon!" The dragon and nuns turned their attention to the human like being that stepped out, the Sistermon sisters bowed and Hackmon paused.

"Why are you harassing this human?" The being who stepped out was a giant man, he must've been at least ten feet tall. He was a muscular, humanoid who embodied masculinity, particularly the harsh discipline of a father. His skin looked like it was covered in some kind of black leather armour, with a metal chest piece, there was a red stripe on the leather armour that went from his lower chest up to his throat. He was wearing a stark white jacket over his shoulders like a banchō, reflecting his more down-to-earth design and demeanour. He had some kind of small visor with a pair of small horns, it was covering his eyes, he had short spiked red hair, he had a moustache, he walked while wearing a pair of red Japanese Geta.

Hackmon kept an eye on Mona. "She wants to kill Digi-Elves."

The tall being stood between the two. "Is she telling the truth?" He looked down at Mona.

"I can't stand elves. They have killed humans in the past, I am not supposed to interact with them anyway. Now can I go home?" Mona asked, in a desperate voice.

"Wait...who are YOU?" She added.

Gankoomon kneeled down in front of Mona, he was now at the level with her, she could hardly stand while looking directly at him. "I am Gankoomon. A Digimon that is a hero of all people." Shortly after he said this, Hackmon charged Mona and the two butted heads. Comically the two screamed out in pain, Hackmon was surprised that she hurt herself in the process.

"Ouch! You have a very thick skull!" Hackmon cried out.

Noir laughed, "she's not the only one." She said in a manner that sounded like singing.

Gankoomon lifted Hackmon and Mona up by the nape of their necks. "The both of you need to calm down. Fighting blindly gets you killed." He sounded like a serious father ready to discipline disobedient children.

Mona huffed and crossed her arms.

"I just wanna know WHY I'm even here! I just want answers " Mona cried in despair.

Hackmon turned her head the opposite direction. "I don't need some dumb human slashing people."

Gankoomon raised his voice lightly, it was enough to get their attention. "Quiet!" The dragon and human turned their attention to Gankoomon.

"Mona. You are in the Digital World, a dimension located within the vast network of computers." He was a bit baffled that the terms seemed completely foreign to Mona as he tried to explain. He looked at her attire and considered something that he never considered before, "what is the most advance machine you've seen. Wooden or otherwise?" Hackmon and the two Sistermon sisters were puzzled on why he asked a human such a question.

"A sword....? Why are you asking like that? Are you assuming something?" Mona asked with suspicion.

Gankoomon thought on another subject. "What is the common means of travel for you and people you've met?"

"Horses" Mona replied, swiftly.

Gankoomon looked like he raised his eyebrows underneath his visor mask. "Just as I suspected. You are from the distant past." Although the others seemed surprised, they didn't question the mighty Digimon at the moment. "You couldn't possibly have knowledge of The Collapse." He looked at the others and they went to the chariot. "If you want answers and help, I recommend coming with us. This world is unforgiving for those that roam alone, only together can we be strong." He placed Mona down and offered her the chance to head for the chariot.

Mona calmed down a little.

"Alright, I'll go with you" Mona replied, slowly.

Gankoomon escorted Mona to the chariot moments before a storm began in the background. "Not another one!" Hackmon cried out as she saw the incoming storm.

They had to rush as fast as possible to their destination to try to beat the storm.

Strangely the storm suddenly vanished halfway into the journey, as if it wasn't there at all. "That's why only the brave train in the desert." Hackmon said to Mona.

"Um, where are we going?" Mona asked.

Gankoomon looked back as the storm vanished. "Someplace where we can't be deleted from the Digital World." He said while keeping his focus on what was behind them.

Sistermon Noir looked at Mona. "We're heading someplace safe from Data Storms." She said as the chariot went across the desert.

Hackmon glared at Mona while she was sitting across from her. "You must be a pretty stupid human to end up here on your own." Hackmon got a slap on her head from Gankoomon.

Gankoomon looked at Mona. "Hackmon means well, but her manners have always been lacking." He said while Mona was thinking about something.

What if my parents are in trouble? She thought.

"Does this place have some kind of time function?" Mona asked.

“Yes, time works differently from the human world” Gankoomon replied.

Hackmon snorted. "This place is home. Because your kind ruined everything, and now there is no place else to live."

Gankoomon placed a hand on Hackmon. "The sins of but an individual, or a group shouldn't condemn the entire race." He reminded his student.

Mona looked at Gankoomon. "You know what a race war is?" She asked.

"Mona. Humans, Digimon, and Digital Entities have been fighting for generations." Gankoomon was stoic for a moment as Sistermon Noir looked out a window in order to hide her face from Mona. "Hatred, Ignorance, and misunderstandings lead to nothing, but hurt that affects many lives." Outside Sistermon Blanc was busy driving the chariot, but her facial expressions made it clear she was sad. "We warned humanity this would happen in our own way, but they chose not to listen."

Hackmon snorted again. "Thanks to them they have no home." She seemed to have mixed feelings on the subject.

"Oh" Mona looked conflicted.

Gankoomon looked at Mona. "Do you have family back at your home?"

"Yeah. They're called Amaya and Gren. They're pretty cool soldiers. My mother really hates elves...." Mona revealed, with a hint of sadness.

"What are the elves from your time like?" Gankoomon asked.

"I haven't met any, but my mother has told me that there's different types in Acadia: Sun fire elves near the border, Star mage elves, moonshadow elves etc. She always describes them as dangerous and deadly " Mona explained.

Gankoomon thought for a moment. "What do these elves look like?"

"I haven't seen them for myself yet" Mona said quickly.

"Did they look like this?" Gankoomon showed what seemed like a magical image of a being the size of a child with pointy ears. It looked very adorable and innocent.

Mona stared blankly and shook her head.

"That is peculiar." Soon the chariot came to a complete stop.

Sistermon Blanc called out. "We're here."

Mona climbed down to see the new location.

The group arrived in what looked like an old town from the Wild West. There were a bunch of beings in the town, and they didn't seem to really react to the newcomers.

Sistermon Noir jumped out. "Hello Digimon!" Nobody seemed to bother with her.

Mona laughed nervously.

The Digimon bowed when Gankoomon arrived. "Gankoomon is back!"

"Gankoomon!" A strange bear like Digimon said as a small crowd formed to praise the powerful Digimon.

Mona froze in fear.

Gankoomon greeted the citizens. "We will need shelter for the night." The people allowed Gankoomon and his followers to take shelter for the night. Mona was welcomed by many strange looking creatures.

"Er hello" she said, nervously.

The Digimon seemed a bit nervous around Mona. "Mona. What do you eat for nutrients?"

"Do you have any fruit?" She asked with a meek smile.

The Sistermon sisters brought different kinds of fruits like kiwi, berries, bananas, and much oranges. "Will these do?" Blanc shyly asked Mona.

"Yeah, I'll try it" She took the fruit and gave it a try.

It was vastly different from fruit in the human kingdoms.

Noir ate kiwi and berries. "Do you like it?"

"It's different....but I like it" Mona surprised herself by her excited politeness.

Noir then grinned while showing bits of fruit in her mouth. The prankster was waiting to see Mona's reaction to the sight.

"You have fruit in your teeth" Mona chuckled.

Blanc had a sigh. "Noir loves to do that."

Noir smiled back.

Noir then looked at Mona. "Are you a fighter?"

"Well my parents did show me a few of their moves" Mona admitted.

Blanc thought for a moment. "You must have a strong skull."

I guess.... my parents are just skilled enough to be teachers" Mona said, sheepishly.

"She was talking about how your skull was able to hurt me." Hackmon snorted as she made the comment.

"Oh.... I see" Mona blushed in embarrassment.

Gankoomon thought for a moment while looking outside. "I recommend traveling with us. There are too many dangers for anyone to face alone." He kept watch for danger.

"I have nowhere else to go since I can't navigate this place " Mona pointed out.

Noir jumped Mona with a hug. "Then you're a part of our little family!"

"Um thanks...Noir. But how am I meant to get used to dragons and elves here?" Mona wondered.

Blanc thought for a moment. "Who can say."

Gankoomon kept watch over night while the girls rested up. The following day Mona woke up to seeing what looked like a tall knight in shining silver armour.

She moved back in alarm.

"Oh, hey there." The knight said before he turned around. "Hey Jeanne! The new girl is awake." The knight sounded a little silly.

"Knightmon. What have I told you about controlling the volume of your voice." A blonde-haired woman with blue eyes said as she glared at the tall knight. She seemed to be roughly five feet tall.

The knight backed away from Mona's bed. "Oh. Sorry Milady." The knight sounded embarrassed by his actions.

"Um...hello" Mona said, nervously.

The woman seemed to be in her late teens. She looked at Mona, "you must be the girl that Gankoomon rescued yesterday." The woman had a golden sword and pieces of shoulder armour. She was dressed primarily in white clothing. "Are you a Chosen Child?"

"Er.........what?" Mona stares blankly.

The dragon Digimon from yesterday came into the room.

"She is it at least I believe that's why she's here" Gankoomon stated.

Jeanne looked at Gankoomon. "Master." She kneeled before him.

Knightmon looked around. "Oh! Your Excellency! I mean Sir!" Knightmon acted nervously as he rapidly saluted before kneeling, and bowing to Gankoomon. The fact a silver armoured knight with a massive golden sword and shield did this rapidly kind of surprised Mona.

"At ease." Gankoomon dismissed Knightmon.

Suddenly a small Digimon wearing a kendo helmet arrived behind Gankoomon. "Joan! Good to see you sis!" The girl Digimon was very excited.

"Easy Kotemon." The woman said in response.

Hackmon looked at Mona. "You must feel off being around my family." She seemed to enjoy Mona's reactions.

"Wait you're related? Whoa!" Mona gasped.

"I've taken in many under my care." Gankoomon said to Mona.

"We're all brothers and sisters here!" Sistermon Noir said as she hugged Mona and rubbed her face against hers.

"I'm adopted too" Mona said a small smile.

"Strange..." Hackmon whispered.

The woman that seemed to be a knight looked at Mona. "You're lucky you didn't lose them in The Collapse."

"Wait 'The Collapse'? Um what exactly is a 'chosen child' and how do Digimon work?" Mona inquired.

Gankoomon was about to talk before screams came from outside. "Trouble!" He jumped out the nearby window and began to fight a strange red beast that resembled a crocodile of tremendous size.

"Jeanne is a Chosen Child, or DigiDestined as many call them." Hackmon said as she and the others got ready to help the various Digimon.

Blanc and Noir suddenly looked serious as they jumped out of the window and began to chase after a bunch of dinosaur-like creatures that charged at the town.

Kotemon and Jeanne helped the Digimon in the Inn. "Mona! Keep these people safe from harm." She said as she pulled out a strange looking device. "Kotemon! Let's get out of here!" The two charged out of the Inn.

Knightmon jumped out of the window, and comically hit his face in the dirt when he fell. He shook his head and then called out. "Hey! Wait for me, you guys!" He was stopped by some of the incoming creatures. "DarkTyranomon! Shame you guys got corrupted by evil and such." He said as he stood ready.

Inside of the Inn, one of the smaller Digimon looked frightened. "Don't worry. Everything will be fine." Hackmon said to the Digimon with comfort.

Mona found a long silver sword that Jeanne left and picked it up with her left hand.

She smiled as she went outside to put her skills to good use.

However, she didn't anticipate seeing a massive Dinosaur like creature roaring through the town.

Her face changed to a look of fear.

What would mother do? She thought.

Hackmon snorted and charged at the large Digimon. "Baby Flames!" She spewed out flaming breath from her mouth which angered the large beast.

The two Sistermon were taking down the DarkTyranomon. "Divine Pierce!" Blanc used her Cross Barbée to cut down opponents.

"Mickey Bullets!" Noir fired her cross like weapons at the opponents.

Hackmon jumped around and was luring away the beast, before she came back to Mona. "What are you up to?"

"I wish to help you fight!" Mona declared with her sword ready.

Hackmon shook her head. "Then protect the people at the Inn!" Suddenly they turned and saw one of the DarkTyranomon going for the Inn. "Come on! Follow my lead!" She said as she got ready.

Mona suddenly had a flash of memory from that strange crossbow she saw before she awoke in the desert.

She groaned as she readjusted to the present and confronted hostile Digimon.

When she came to her senses. Mona saw a strange light, and suddenly the crossbow materialized in her hands in place of the sword.

She instinctively fired at the hostile Digimon.

The Digimon roared as it began to fall back away from the Inn.

Mona sighed with relief as it left.

The massive Digimon that Gankoomon was fighting roared before vanishing along with the surviving DarkTyranomon.

He landed in the desert sands near the edge of the town and looked around for any signs of the evil creatures. "It would seem the forces of Envy have chased us." He said to himself before he returned to the town.

Noir and Blanc jumped incredible distances in order to get back into the town. "That was fun." Noir said with a smile. Her cat like hood gave off an expression that seemed like a smile.

Mona looked around in confusion.

"Where did they go?" She wondered.

Gankoomon checked on his family. "Leviamon is gone for now. His minions left with him." He explained as he showed up. The entire town praised Gankoomon and the others for their work, including Mona even though she just saved the Inn.

Mona smiled.

So, this is how my mother feels when she saves people , she thought.

"You handled yourself well." Hackmon commented.

"Thanks, but will there be more threats like that?" Mona wondered.

Hackmon snorted. "That was typical for most regions."

"Ok so what now?" Mona asked.

Gankomon looked at the Digimon. "Hear me my people. We shall rebuild this town before moving on!" The Digimon cheered.

Mona sighed with relief.

Something else to do is good she thought.

Hackmon watched Mona. "Are you safe?"

"Oh, um yes" Mona said quickly.

She still felt uneasy around a dragon Digimon due to her upbringing but was at least willing to stick around with them in order to return home, dream or not.

They began work on rebuilding, hoping that no enemies would resurface.

Gankomon, the Sistermon and Hackmon were busy heading the reconstruction of town. The citizens worked for several hours alongside the protectors before the town was safe.

Gankomon and his group were ready to move out, but waited on Mona because the people were cheering her.

"Please visit us again." One of the towns people asked.

Jeanne was waiting on her partner Knightmon to hurry up. "Sometimes Knightmon forgets to stop being praised." She mumbled to herself. Kotemon was having a piggyback ride on Jeanne.

Mona was smiling half the time during the cheers.

Hackmon could tell she wasn't used to seeing so much praise. "You'll get use to it if you stay around with us." She was looking at the strange weapon Mona was given.

“It...appeared from a dream...I think” Mona recalled.

The tornado seemed to act like it had a will of its own, because it went after Mona and Hackmon. The two were swept up and then the tornado left the town.
