Chapter Text
The last time we saw Asta she was shot, stabbed, and was being rescued from being at the bottom of the ocean. It has been a few months and she has since healed and gotten back to normal, well normal on earth that is with being an Avenger. She had been staying with some of her friends while healing to train and recover, getting better at reaction time to avoid what had happened with Ward. And now that the Avengers were all together, they had a mission to do. Stop a big Hydra Lab from continuing operation, and get the scepter that Loki had brought to earth a year prior.
The Hydra base was located in the woods of Sokovia, which was where the Avengers were currently in. Natasha was currently driving an armored jeep with Clint and Asta on the back taking out hydra agents who were trying to stop them.
Thor was jumping and flying around to stop the Agents who were on higher ground from shooting at those on the ground, along with Iron man. While Steve was on a motorcycle taking out Agents of his own. And lastly we have the Hulk punching the agents in vehicles and taking no damage.
All the Avengers got closer to the base where the Hydra agents had up up a blockade to stop them from getting any closer, but what they were anticipating was for the four on the ground to also jump over the blockade, putting all the avengers closer to the base.
Tony was quick to fly ahead of anyone to get straight to the building only for him to fly directly into a forcefield. "Shit." he swore into the coms.
"Language." Steve scolds the billionaire, "JARVIS, what's the view from upstairs?" Steve questions the A.I.
"The central building is protected by some kind of energy shield. Strucker's technology is well beyond any other HYDRA base we've taken." JARVIS replies for the while team to hear.
The team were still taking out Hydra Agents who continue to fight in waves. "Loki's scepter must be here. Strucker couldn't mount this defense without it. At long last." Thor informs the team.
"I can feel the magic energy from here, it's in there." Asta adds on, as she magically throw a group of three hydra agents away from her.
"'At long last' is lasting a little long, boys." Natasha says as she knocks out more agents, before shooting another one on a blaster.
"Yeah. I think we lost the element of surprise." Clint comments as he shoots arrows.
"Wonder what gave us away." Asta says a bit sarcastically.
"Wait a second. No one else is going to deal with the fact that Cap just said 'language?'" Tony brings up.
"I know." Steve says before throwing his bike at a vehicle full of agents. He sighs, "It just slipped out." he admits.
The team continues to take out agents at try at reach the base. It wasn't until Clint was shot at that things changed. "Clint!" Natasha says before rushing over to him, gaining Steve and Asta's attention hearing the man groan over coms.
Then a blur of a person hit Steve, sending him up in the air, but he lands on his feet. "We have an enhanced in the field." Steve informs the others.
"Clint's hit!" Natasha says to the others.
Asta looks around hesitantly, feeling magic but it was not what she was use to. Then she was knocked down. She quickly sits up and looks around confused from not seeing anyone, "It's to fast, I could barely sense it." she tells the others as she gets up and makes her way to where Clint and Natasha were.
"Somebody want to deal with that bunker?" Natasha requests, seeing the bunker still active and shooting, she didn't have to wait long as Hulk came and smashed the bunker, "Thank you." she tells him as she begins to try and tend to Clint's wound.
"Here. You're covered." Asta tells Natasha as she stands near them, ready to block any shots taken at them.
"Appreciate it." The red head tells her blonde friend as she gives Clint a small morphine shot for his wound.
The princess, luckily didn't have to do much as the remaining hydra agents seem to have went in the direction that Steve and her brother had been to, and the enhanced didn't make another appearance for the three.
"Clint's hit pretty bad, guys. We're gonna need evac." Natasha informs the others as she finishes all she could with Clint.
"I can get Barton to the jet. The sooner we're gone the better. You and Stark secure the scepter." Thor replies through the coms what also talking to Steve.
"Copy that." Steve tells him.
After a moment and an loud team attack from the two blonde men, Thor was back on the coms, "Find the scepter." he says before flying off to meet the girls and Clint.
"And for gosh sake, watch your language!" Tony jokes causing Steve to sigh.
"That's not going away anytime soon." Steve mumbles before running off.
Thor was quick to arrive and get Clint to take him to the jet for more medical treatment. As Tony's other Iron Legion bots surround the remaining Agents who had surrendered. "We're locked down out here." Natasha tells the boys as her and Asta look around warily incase the enhanced showed up.
"Then get to Banner, time for a lullaby." Steve replies.
"Need back up?" Asta questions the spy.
"I got this, go help the boys." Natasha says to her before walking over to where the Hulk was throwing around debris.
"Coming your way Cap." Asta lets Steve know.
Steve kicks an agent that was in a doorway, knocking him out, "Clear to come over." he tells her.
Asta teleports behind Steve, "Lets find that scepter." she says to him earning a nod as they both enter the building, coming face to face with a startled man.
"Baron Strucker. Hydra's number one thug." Steve says to them man, as the man slowly backs away as the two moves towards him.
"Technically, I'm a thug for SHIELD." Strucker corrects.
"Well then technically you're unemployed." Steve replies unamused.
"Where's Loki's scepter?" Asta questions, wanting to get it out of hydra's hands.
"Don't worry, I know when I'm beat. You'll mention how I cooperated, I hope." Strucker replies to the two, with a sigh.
Asta then felt something off, similar to the speed enhanced but different enough to know it wasn't them. "I'll put it right under 'illegal human experimentation'." Steve replies unamused, "How many are there?" he questions. Asta's eyes widen putting a quick small shield around her as an enhanced female came up to the two hero's, hitting them with her magic but only knocking down the Captain, retreating once he fell down the stairs and seeing the blonde looking at her with wide eyes.
The Princess goes to follow her but is stopped by Steve grabbing her arm, "We have a second enhanced. Female. Do not engage." he says into the coms, but looking to Asta at the last part, earning a sigh from her.
"You'll have to be faster than-" Strucker begins to taunt but was hit with caps shield to the face, knocking him down.
"Guys, I got Strucker." Steve says into the coms with a sigh.
"Yeah, I got... something bigger." Tony replies. "Thor, Asta, I got eyes on the prize." he tells the siblings, as he approaches the scepter.
"Do you need help getting it?" Asta questions as she continues through the base as Steve took Strucker out to one of the Iron Men that were around. She got no response. "Tony?" she questions, but again got no response.
Unknow to all the Avengers, Tony was witnessing his worst nightmare in a realistic illusion that it surprised the Enhanced that casted him to see it. "Tony?" Asta tries again, finally snapping that man out of it.
Blinking in shock, he tries to shake off what he saw, "Repeat that?" he says into the coms to the princess.
"Do you need help getting the scepter?" she repeats slowly, confused on why he hadn't heard her before.
"No. I'm fine. Meet back with the others on the jet." he tells her, wiping the sweat from his forehead.
"Okay..." she replies unconvinced before teleporting back to the jet.
