If you, for whatever reason, wanted to get on Ahsoka Tano’s bad side, capturing her three girlfriends would be a good place to start. Not that the Separatists weren’t already on Ahsoka’s bad side, being a tyrannical military force that was responsible for the deaths of many of her friends already, but this made it personal for her. Jedi Knight Barriss Offee, Senator Riyo Chuchi, and rebel leader Steela Gerrera were all captured and imprisoned in a Separatist underwater base in Mon Cala. Ahsoka, well aware of what the Council would say, decided to raid the base by herself to save them.
After cutting down dozens of droids, Ahsoka found herself in an underwater holding cell underneath the base. She brought her scuba gear so she wouldn’t have to rely on her breathholding skills, which was fortunate, because her girlfriends would need her help quickly. Barriss, Riyo and Steela were all tied to poles jutting out from the bottom of the base, being supplied with oxygen via air hoses attached to three tanks at the top of their poles. Barriss and Steela were struggling in their bonds, glaring daggers at the droids keeping watch over them, while Riyo seemed to be deep in thought, her eyes closed and her expression remarkably calm.
As soon as Ahsoka spotted them, she heard a loud alarm emit from the base, and the droids turned to face her, pointing their blasters at her.
“‘SSHHKKHH!” Barriss, Steela and Riyo all cried out into the regulators jammed in their mouths.
“Don’t move, Jedi,” a robotic voice echoed out from the speakers on the bottom, probably one of those tactical droids like the one Ahsoka and Steela had encountered on Onderon, “We knew you would come here to rescue your friends. You are as predictable as you are persistent.”
Ahsoka whirled around as she quickly scanned her surroundings, brandishing her lightsabers.
“You may have destroyed many of my forces, but you will never achieve victory today,” the robotic voice droned as the droids guarding the prisoners aimed their blasters at the air tanks, “More troops are already on their way to your location, but I want to make things interesting before they arrive. I will allow you to rescue one of your friends, Jedi.”
Ahsoka’s eyes widened in shock behind her mask, then narrowed again when she realized what that statement really meant. If she freed Steela, for example, then Barriss and Riyo would have their air supply cut and they would drown. That was not an option for her.
“Which one will you choose to save, Jedi?” the voice said, almost in a mocking tone if droids could do that.
Ahsoka looked at her girlfriends, all giving her worried looks. Barriss and Steela would both want Ahsoka to save Riyo, given the Pantoran was a Republic Senator and thus more important, though Riyo would fire back that they were just as important as she was. Ahsoka knew she had to save them all, she couldn’t let any of them die, but she had to make her move wisely and quickly. She motioned for the other three girls to remain calm as she made her way towards Riyo.
Just as she predicted, once Ahsoka slashed Riyo’s ropes, the other two guard droids blasted holes in Steela and Barriss’s tanks, letting all the air leak out. Ahsoka knew she had to act fast, so she held out her left hand, using the Force to try and hold the oxygen in place to keep it from bursting out all at once, letting Barriss and Steela breathe just a bit. The droids, having caught on to what she was doing, aimed their blasters at the other two prisoners, but Riyo, having been freed grabbed her captor’s gun and shot the one guarding Steela, while Ahsoka threw one of her lightsabers and impaled the droid guarding Barriss.
Once all the droids were destroyed, Ahsoka swam over and cut Steela and Barriss’s bonds, still trying to keep their air from leaking out the holes in the tanks. After they were freed, Ahsoka let Barriss and Steela take turns breathing from her second stage regulator as they swam over to regroup with Riyo. The four girls then swam up to the hole in the base Ahsoka had entered through earlier and climbed up inside. After Barriss, Steela and Riyo spent a minute coughing up water, they all threw their arms around Ahsoka in a tight group hug.
“I knew you’d come to save us!” Riyo cheered, planting a big kiss on Ahsoka’s lips, “We all did, right?”
“Yes, of course we did,” Barriss giggled, giving Ahsoka a kiss of her own, “We never had any doubt.”
“What can I say?” Ahsoka beamed, “If you’re in trouble, no force in the universe will stop me from helping you out.”
“Aw, thanks,” Steela laughed, kissing Ahsoka herself, “I’d say we could’ve taken those droids, but that would be lying.”
“Yes, it would be,” said Barriss, “How did you come up with that strategy, ‘Soka?”
“I dunno,” Ahsoka shrugged, “It was all pretty much on the fly.”
“Yeah, that sounds about right,” Steela snickered.
“What are you implying?” Ahsoka asked, a teasing glint in her eye.
“You tell me,” Steela smirked, kissing Ahsoka again.
“I don’t mean to break up the fun,” said Riyo, “But I hear the droids coming.”
Sure enough, the sound of metal feet stomping down the steps was heard throughout the room.
“Hey,” said Ahsoka, “After we send those droids to the scrap heap, why don’t we all go on a dive together? Assuming you’re not sick of the ocean after what just happened.”
“That sounds lovely,” Barriss nodded, picking up her lightsaber from a rack on the wall holding all their belongings.
“Yeah, I could go for a dive after blasting some clankers,” Steela grinned, grasping her sniper rifle.
“Count me in too,” Riyo smiled, aiming her blaster at the steps, “Just for you, ‘Soka.”
“I love you guys,” Ahsoka laughed, igniting her lightsabers, waiting for the droids to arrive.

Less than half an hour later, Ahsoka, Barriss, Steela and Riyo were all suited up in wetsuits and scuba gear, exploring the deep blue sea. They had destroyed all of the droids in the Separatist base and shut down the communications, so no one was going to find out where they were for a long while. The four girls swam out into the open sea, hand-in-hand, as they all basked in the beauty of the ocean. They were all wearing matching black wetsuits, while their fins, masks, air tanks and regulators were all color-coded, with Ahsoka’s being light green, Barriss’s pink, Steela’s yellow, and Riyo’s light blue.
“Mmmhhh…,” Ahsoka sighed happily into her regulator, gripping Barriss and Steela’s hands tightly, wanting to never let them go.
Riyo motioned for the other three to scooch close to her as she pulled out a small camera previously attached to her tank. She, Barriss and Steela huddled close to Ahsoka, each wrapping an arm around the Togruta’s torso and air tank, while throwing up a peace sign or just a friendly wave. Steela jokingly held up a middle finger, but changed it to an OK sign after Barriss and Riyo glared at her, while Ahsoka just let out an amused giggle.
After Riyo snapped the picture, Ahsoka gazed at her gorgeous girlfriends, holding them all close. Less than an hour ago, she was dangerously close to losing them, but now they were all safe and sound, and that was all she could ask for. She loved them all dearly, sweet responsible Barriss, warm optimistic Riyo, and snarky determined Steela, and they loved her just as much. What more could she possibly want?
