Chapter Text
New York, such a beautiful city, known for its gigantic skyscrapers, it’s beautiful bridges, it’s incredible monuments, and it’s heavily armed criminal trying to rob a bank in the middle of the night.
In the parking lot, behind said banke are located four guys, in high-tech looking armors, a van to escape, and one laser to pierce through a heavy wall, they thought it was a perfect plan, and they were doing great so far, until she showed up.
As the laser was finishing its task, they hear a voice coming from above.
"You know, I kinda miss the old school villains"
Suddenly, a red figure appears, landing on the head of one of them, knocking him down in the process.
"I mean they would come in the day in their fantastic costumes, doing great evil speeches, they had so much presence, it made the fight intense'
The 3 robbers recognizes her, all the criminals of this city would recognize her, she's the one that strikes fear in the heart of the wicked, the ones who always stand for what's right, the Amazing, the Spectacular, Spider-Girl !
"But now look at you in your overdesigned and plain looking armor"
One of them launches himself towards her, unsheathing his laser sword just like his comrades, he swings it towards her, obviously not knowing her sixth sense would make his attempt futile
"You got no quips or threats, heck you don’t even talk, even the guy I knocked down barely grunted"
She avoids his attack and gives him a well-timed uppercut, sending him flying in the air.
"Gosh, you’re so lame that you’re able to make even laser swords boring"
She sprints toward one of them, jumping above him, she sticks her hand to his shoulder, dragging him violently to the ground as she lands. The last one takes the sword of one of his fallen comrades. The girl takes a rock from the ground and uses her ability to repel objects to send it straight into his right leg, making him fall, and as he’s about to get up, she lends a right hook on his face, effectively knocking him out for good.
"Phew, now I tie them up, and then I can go home and get some slee-"
But as she was rejoicing in her victory, she feels a sharp pain in her head, one that she knows too well, she quickly turns around and sees that one of the robbers actually managed to get back up and make his way to the laser.
"Oh come on- "
Before she can even finish her sentence, the laser fires towards her, she escapes it by sliding under it, but as she tries to close in to her opponent, it changes his course seemingly following her.
She thinks to herself "Must be an automatic, once it locks onto something it won’t let it go so easily"
She desperately tries to get close to the canon firing it, but it’s too fast for her tired reflexes, she could use a good night of sleep after the long day she had, but here she is, running away from being sliced in half.
"So how’s that for a great presence !? " The robber angrily screams at her.
"You're serious ? The gun's doing all the work for you !"
"Ok, there’s must be a way out of this, you fought multiple goblins, symbiotes, and godlike creatures, you can’t be beaten by a simple laser, come on, think May, think" she thinks to herself
But suddenly a black figure drops behind the robber, he notices her, but she ties him up with some kind of rope before he can do anything, she takes him out with some swift and powerful moves as graceful as the ones from a professional gymnast, and rushes to the laser. She taps a few buttons and, to our heroine’s greatest pleasure, stops the machine.
"Phew, thanks, I mean I could’ve handled it alone, but still, thanks for the save"
Her savior just mumbles a barely audible "De nada" as a response before giving a closer look to the weapon she just disabled and to the crook's gear. She frowns, she either didn't found what she was after, or she just did and would have preferred to be wrong.
As her unknown ally is investigating the robber's tech, Spider-Girl's take a closer look at her "She has a spider-logo on her, her weird rope seems to be a sort a grappling hook coming from her arm, oh the hook is spider-shaped, that's cute. She must be around my age...Wow I don' think I did a proper team-up since...well...April..."
"So, what’s your name ?" Asks Spider-Girl to her savior
"I’m..." She marks a little pause, she seems hesitant, and unsure of herself she says "Spider-Girl, I’m Spider-Girl."
And before our Spider-Girl can say anything about their shared title, her mysterious saviour launches her spider-hook to the nearest lamp and swings away, taking the the handle of one of the swords with her.
«Well, I know there are Spiders in this city I never met, but I’m sure I would’ve known about one sharing my name...Hope I see her again so we can talk about it, even though she was a bit weird, but when you've dealt with Nova and the Buzz, I think you can deal with any weirdo» she thinks while webbing up the criminals.
But what Spider-Girl, I mean May «Mayday » Parkeris that the two Spiders would indeed meet again, and that their next encounter will be the first day of the rest of both of their life.
