"I thought you never wanted to see me again."
"I didn't, but it appears your magic has a different plan for us."
Sun's been having some weird dreams...But he's starting to think they might be more real. They feel real, but most dreams do.
Sun hopes they aren't real, honestly. If they are, Sun isn't sure what he's going to do.
"It seems like your magic has developed exponentially when you attacked Nexus...I hadn't intended for that." Their voice was as monotonous as ever, void of any real care for the current situation, despite them never accounting for such an outcome. Dark Sun didn't seem worried, not at all. It was as if this was just a tiny rock thrown into the flow of a river.
It made Sun wonder how they could be so calm.
Maybe it was because this was just a dream. Yeah, dreams aren't logical. They don't make sense, so Dark Sun doesn't make sense.
That's all.
Sun fidgeted a little, shifting on his feet. "I...Don't know what my magic would have to do with this." He answered, looking around the room they were in. It felt vaguely familiar to Sun, and he had no doubt Dark Sun had an idea of where they were. "Dream telepathy. Or something like that..." Dark Sun told, slowly pacing back and forth.
Dark Sun's pacing always made Sun anxious, he wasn't sure why.
It always struck Sun as odd, how he and Dark Sun were like polar opposites. They were calm and collected, never worried. He was a flurry of emotions, always anxious. Sun could barely keep things together unlike Dark Sun.
Dark Sun always said they were just another Sun in the multiverse.
Sometimes, Sun thinks they're lying.
"You're more anxious than usual, Sun." Dark Sun said, though they always lacked contempt. Sun wondered if they lacked the ability to be angry. Sure, Sun did not doubt that the other could get annoyed, but he had never seen them express anger before.
Then again, they always asked him the same question as well.
Still, Sun felt caught off guard by the question, as he did with all of Dark Sun's inquiries. "I-It's just...Weird, I guess?" He said, but all his voice relayed was uncertainty. It appeared Sun lacked a spine while with them. "Weird...Yes, I suppose so." Dark Sun never seemed to care about Sun's confidence, it honestly made Sun feel the least bit relieved.
Dark Sun didn't care if Sun wasn't high mighty. Dark Sun cared about conversation, the exchange of information, and going along with life. That was it.
Sun was not a part of the end goal, but he was there for conversation.
Hopefully, Sun was doing okay in that department.
"I didn't expect you to obtain telepathic powers, but it is interesting to note..." Dark Sun then thought aloud, small clicks filling the room. It was as if they were analyzing the situation. "I don't think I did..." Sun mumbled back, which only resorted to a blank stare from Dark Sun as if they were trying to come up with the best response. "So what do you think, then?" They asked, stepping closer to Sun with their arms folded.
"This is just some strange dream. Like every other time."
Dark Sun just stared, to which they eventually shook their head. "No, this is real." They rebutted, though they sounded more stern rather than annoyed. "I-I don't think so..." Sun sounded sure, if anything, this was the thing he was most sure about at the moment. The indecisive Sun whose finally decided.
This was just a dream. Dark Sun would've found a way to block Sun out by now if it wasn't. Dark Sun wouldn't waste his time talking with him for who knows how long if this wasn't a dream.
"A dream...Is that hard to believe you're magical prowess growing?"
A tiny frown was on Sun's face, his gaze shifting around the room nervously. "F-From killing my..." Sun paused before he sucked in a breath, "...I don't think my magic would grow from killing Nexus." He answered, shifting to sit down on the floor. Sun was tired, honestly...
It almost felt like the tone of the other Sun faltered. Dark Sun stared silently before they then too sat down. "It's not as far-fetched as you might believe..." They said after a long moment of silence between the two. "And I...Can't make you believe that this is not a dream," Dark Sun then admitted, leaning up against the wall. "So let's say it is one." They then finalized, staring at Sun, who was still a little anxious.
"For both our sakes?"
"Yes, for both of us."
Well, that did make Sun feel a little better...He didn't expect Dark Sun to wrap an arm around him. "Besides, dreams don't work with proper logic. It's completely viable to believe you're magic is growing now, right?" Dark Sun then said, tilting his head to look at Sun more. A bit of a shaky chuckle left Sun's mouth. "Yeah...I guess so." Sun relented, one lone ray twitching as he rubbed his arm.
It went back to a bit of an awkward silence, though it was still comfortable. Dark Sun kept their arm wrapped around Sun. He could feel Dark Sun's eyes on him, but he couldn't find himself to mind.
And then, Sun felt a tiny kiss on his cheek.
He blinked, his gaze shifting to look at Dark Sun. "Did...?" He felt shocked for a moment before Dark Sun nodded. "Yeah, I did." They answered simply, gently squeezing Sun's shoulder. "We're both Sun's...What's the problem with a little self-love?" Dark Sun answered, their hand brushing against Sun's rays. It made him relax against them a little. "...And this is a dream, so I guess it isn't that bad..." Sun mumbled back, his head lying on Dark Sun's shoulders. An amused hum came from Dark Sun.
Amusing the other Sun was a hard feat to reach.
"There we are, Sunny. You're getting it, now." The answer almost seemed too nice for it to be Dark Sun talking...But then again, this was just a dream. Dream Dark Sun was nicer.
Maybe.
The two lay with each other for a long time. Dark Sun's eyes had closed a bit ago...And now Sun's were starting to droop. His head felt a little fuzzy, and it was harder to stay awake. Was he waking up from the dream?
Sun almost found himself trying to keep his eyes open, trying to prolong the embrace just a little longer.
But eventually, Sun's eyes couldn't stay open any longer.
Until he actually did open his eyes again, except he was met with a gentle sunlight filling the room. Moon was lying beside him, still fast asleep. He and Moon hadn't left each other's side all that much. Sun was afraid Moon would disappear again, and Moon was terrified Sun would get hurt.
Though, for once, Sun didn't feel afraid. He felt calm and refreshed...
Sun rolled onto his side, sucking in a breath he didn't need. He kind of liked that dream...
...But if that wasn't a dream, Sun might have to go through some self-evaluation.
