Chapter Text
Oscar was on his way to his tent, making his way back from the dinner he prepared for everyone, feeling tired he wiped his brow with a cloth, also being tired he dropped it without realizing.
A few steps later a woman's voice was heard behind him
Tanith: “Oh, excuse me”
Oscar turns to see commander Tanith herself picking up his cloth, he didn't really know what to think of the pegasus commander, she was stiff and a good warrior, but oscar would be lying if he said he didn't find her pretty, she had relatively short brown hair to about the top of her shoulders , and beautiful blue eyes but he didn't know anything about her other than that.
Oscar: “yes?”
Tanith extended the cloth to this green haired man with squinty eyes who she had never met before, clearly a mercenary, she needs to be on her guard he’ll likely be rude to her or flirt with her like a weirdo.
Tanith: “Did you just drop this cloth?”
Oscar looks at the cloth and realizes his mistake
Oscar: “Oops yes that's mine, thank you for picking it up. I apologize for troubling you commander Tanith.” His words are accompanied by a sincere smile.
Now Tanith is curious, I guess he isn't a mercenary, must be a knight from some small country or other.
Tanith: “What is your name?”
Oscar smiles
“Silly me, I forgot to introduce myself. I am Oscar of the Greil Mercenaries. It’s a pleasure to meet you , milady.”
Tanith: “Hm. I hadn’t thought you were one of the mercenaries. That’s quite interesting. I am here with only a minimal retinue, but I hope that we can demonstrate the greatness of Begnion’s knights.”
Oscar smiles at her clear pride she has for her knights, despite her not really showing it.
Oscar: “I am well aware of Begnion’s reputation. It’s an honor to meet the leader of such an esteemed force.”
Tanith: “You're too kind” she almost smiles on accident, but she remains as stiff as ever.
Oscar smiles he can't tell but it almost feels like she’s beaming with pride.
Oscar: “It was a pleasure meeting you, milady” He smiles at her and walks away, a feeling in his stomach that becomes apparent, Oscar isn't dumb, he realizes as he goes to sleep that night that he may have a crush.
After watching Oscar go, Tanith smiles a little, unseen to anyone other than probably Sigrun who could notice she’s smiling
Tanith: “Hm… Such a well-mannered young man. I always thought mercenaries were rude, crude, and vulgar men… Ike certainly has some fine lads under his command.” she thinks Oscar is nice, and she decides that maybe she’ll talk to someone in a friendly way for once, and she decides she wants to talk to Oscar more.
