Chapter Text
--------------
Lexa was sitting on a chair awaiting for the waitress to bring the coffee.
She was checking her emails wanting to see if Indra has sent her more details about the case when she sees someone's shadow.
Lexa looked up and she saw a pair of blue eyes and a smile that would have her over the moon.
She wanted to speak but a voice interupted her thoughts.
"Is the seat next to you taken?" the woman asks politely.
"Um, no, actually." Lexa replies. She was about to go back to reading my emails when the woman spoke again.
"I'm Clarke. You?" Clarke says, again, having a wide smile on her face that looked like it was kissed by the stars and planets.
"I'm... Lexa Woods." Lexa says. "You have a strange name, Klark." she replies, testing how the blonde's name sounded on her lips.
"Enchantée, Lexa." Clarke was absolutely delighted she met someone who didin't know her. "I can't say the same for you. Your name is beautiful yet so simple."
"Enchantée, Clarke. And thank you." Lexa tried to see if there was anything hidden behind a mask that this so said Clarke would wear. But she saw nothing. Pure sincerity and joy.
Damn, joy. Something that Lexa has not felt in a while...
They chatted for a while, getting to know eachother.
Lexa learned that now, her favorite sound was clarke's laughter. It was contagious.
Lexa hasn't ever met a person so full of energy and life. So...happy.
It felt like they have known eachother for a lifetime. Everything that was happening right now felt so...right.
Lexa didin't know how, but they exhanged numbers.
After that exact second, the waitress came with the coffee and Lexa had to go.
Clarke promised to text her.
After all, it was a good interaction at the cafe, maybe even gained Lexa a new friend.
--------------
Clarke was leaving the cafe when she got a text from Raven saying to get her ass to the Deliquents apartment because everyone ordered pizza and bear.
Or in Raven's words, "Clarke, get your ass in here ASAP, bitches be rolling, Jasper's ordered pizza and Bellamy brought alcohol!!"
Clarke sighed and sent a fast text to Raven, "Chill, Raven. Try not to get drunk before I get there..." and went on her way to the apartment.
When Clarke arrived, music was loud, cans of beers almost EVERYWHERE.
This apartment was again, a mess. Raven was taking shots on Luna's neck. Jasper and Monty were pouring drinks to everyone and were in charge of the music.
Octavia was laughing with Bellamy and Murphy, everyone was having fun.
Only Clarke was almost up to the moon because she met a beautiful brunette woman who would soon turn her world upside down.
That night, Clarke had to listen to music with full volume with her headphones just to not hear Raven and Luna making out.
That's what you get for living with your friends that are idiots. Idiots or not, clarke loved them.
---------------
Anya and the others were looking over the case when Lexa finally arrived with the coffee. The first one to speak was Lincoln.
"What took you so long, Lexa? Or maybe did you meet a certain blonde and fell in love in Paris, the literal city of love." Lincoln said teasingly.
"It took long to make, okay? It's not my fault those people take forever to make 6 coffees. And what do you mean 'a certain blonde"?" Lexa asked confused. How did Lincoln know she met a blonde?...
"Octavia told me her best friend's gonna go at the cafe YOU were going. So I just assumed you met her," Lincoln said nonchalantly.
"What's her name? maybe I met her." Lexa asked him.
"Clarke." he answered.
"Oh, yes. I met her. She's...sweet." Lexa spoke sincerly.
"Aww! She's growing on you, Woods!" Anya snickered.
"Stai zitta, Anya!" Lexa slapped Anya's arm, not too hard.
"Stop acting like little children and focus!" Indra's voice echoed through the room.
"Ahem, of course. So, let's go over the case again." Lexa spoke firmly now, hiding the once emotion that was in her voice and tone. Her expression stoic, hiding every feeling under a mask.
"We know that that the husband was abusive and violent to the victim. But what we don't know is why the victim never seeked medical care or even went to the police." Ilian said.
"Okay, we need to focus on getting that information by contacting the victim or in the next hearing." Marcus advised.
"I agree. But if we get more from the hearing than the victim, something's not right and we need to press more." Gustus added.
They all agreed. Later on, Lincoln and Ilian remained late at work with Lexa going over and over the case.
--------------
It was late, Lexa had just arrived at her apartment when she got a text that said
"Hey! It's me, Clarke. Sorry for the late text, just got a lot going on over here. I can't sleep because of my stupid friends. I guess you don't got idiots like them roaming around your apartment, huh? Anyway, goodnight Lexa.
Lexa smiled at the text and fired one too."That must be cruel, I would kill them if I were you/j. I hope you'll finally find a moment of silence and be able to sleep. Goodnight to you too, Clarke."
That night, Lexa got the best sleep she had in a while.
-------------
Duty calls, of course. That's the first thought that went through Lexa's mind when she heard the alarm. Then, other thoughts, too. Like, the meeting with the beautiful blonde, the case, those blue eyes...
But, Lexa was in Paris for a reason, the case. Not to swoon over girls.
Costia was a mistake when she went in Spain. One that had cost her a lot of heartbreak. One that she could not make again. Clarke could be a mistake, one that would cost her EVERYTHING.
Lexa got Clarke out of her mind and focused on her morning routine, then she got dressed in a black suit, got some papers and headed over to the building.
-------------
"I'm actually, so fricking bored right now." Anya was whining.
"You're so lucky Lexa isn't here or she'd explode at how much you're whining about going to WORK. Wait, she'd even agree to fire you, if you don't like work." Lincoln started laughing.
"Yikes, imagine being unemployed." Ilian added.
"OKAY GUYS, I GOT IT. THANKS FOR THE EMPATHY." Anya said sarcastically.
"Always" Ilian blew a kiss and Anya gagged.
"Ew, not at work." Lexa's voice was heard from behind.
"And the boss has come, goodbye life, goodbye happiness." Anya said, faking sad.
"SHE WAS WHINING ABOUT WORK!" Lincoln yelled.
"Traitor!" Anya gasped in betrayal.
"We don't have time for this childish act, the next hearing is coming soon and we have no information." Lexa said, feeling frustrated.
"Don't worry, Lexie. I'm sure the blondie can help you relax." Anya smirked.
Lexa could only sigh, her sister was truly and utterly annoying.
----------------
"Morning." Raven said.
"Morning, I made pancakes." Clarke said, her voice still rough from sleep.
"Yum." Raven was prepared to devour them all.
"WHO WANTS PANCAKES BEFORE RAVEN EATS THEM ALL?" Clarke yelled so everyone could hear.
In a few minutes, everyone except Luna was down for breakfast, because Luna had already went to work.
"Okay, so, you know what'd be co-"
"Raven, NO." Clarke and Octavia said at the same time.
"Y'all are no fun." She pouted.
"Whatever, at least I don't blow up things."
"AT LEAST I GOT LAID" Everyone stared at Raven.
"For fuck's sake, Reyes. I'm eating." Murphy mumbled.
"Oops..."
Clarke couldn't wait to go to work.
