Chapter 1: Familiar tales, new adventures.

Chapter Text

‘Welp, this isn’t how I thought my day would be going,’ Wukong thought as he fought another Jade Emperor guard after guard, Lieutenant after Lieutenant. He even fought some of The Jade Emperor's personal guards; he fought almost everything in heaven, hell, and everything in between.

‘I just wanted to be left alone on my island with my subjects, with the title ‘The Great Sage Equal To Heaven,’ and get acknowledged by Heaven. Is that too much to ask?’ Wukong thought as he either knock out or kill them as he led his army against all of heaven, with his battle brothers taking their fair share of heaven guards.

“Sun Wukong!!! The so-called Monkey King: The Great Sage Equal To Heaven, you dare mock us by coming here, setting your filthy paws with your demon trash, fight us?!?” The one and only blowhard: The Jade Emperor.

“Yeah, I dare; I also dare you to kiss my monkey butt while I take down the rest of your army,” Wukong said as he smacked a squadron away without looking with his staff as he willed it to

enlarge and stretch enough to take them all out of the fight.

“Such insolence will not stand! Erlang!” The Jade Emperor yelled out, and not even a second later, Erlang Shen came out of nowhere to attack Wukong from behind with his hound right beside him.

‘Damn it! I thought Macaque was holding him back,’ Wukong thought as he quickly look around for his battle brother to see him fighting Nezha with some difficulty to fight back.

‘Of course, they have a child fighting here; better finish this fight before I look bad when everyone else finishes their fight,’ Wukong thought smugly as he blocks and redirects Erlang's blows.

Wukong gained some distance before pulling some of his fur out and blowing on them to make clones of himself to distract and attack Erlang.

“Have fun fighting them! HA! Now, where were we, Mister Emperor?” Wukong mockingly asks.

The Jade Emperor did not seem phased at all by Wukong’s action; instead, he smirked before an explosion of orange smoke and magic being dispersed, and Erlang staring down the Monkey King.

The Monkey King stared back at Erlang before sighing in mild annoyance and quickly showing up in front of them, readying a swing with his staff.

Erlang's expression didn’t change as he quickly blocked The Monkey King’s hit with his spear before returning with his own.

“You should know that there’s no way for you or your brothers to leave without losing your lives, even for someone like you,” Erlang said, almost sounding sympathetic to The Monkey King.

“It’s you and the Celestials that attacked us first, along with trying to burn our home to the ground and kill my subjects,” The Monkey King said, glaring at Erlang.

“I do regret that they did that, but that was done behind my back by some of the younger immortals in the army! I would never involve innocents, even those under your rule,” Erlang said, blocking another attack.

Wukong swung again and again before putting in more force and pushed Erlang back far enough to get a look at his brothers and saw they were doing alright before seeing Macaque finally got the hound down.

“Wukong, I might be able to help with your brothers and guarantee that no one else will die or be hunted by the celestials. Your people will be safe,” Erlang said as he went back to fighting Wukong.

They went back and forth for an hour straight before Erlang was surprised by a shadow from beneath him suddenly grabbing his legs and dragging him down, “Is the great Monkey King actually having a tough time fighting this guy?” Said a mocking tone that Wukong was very familiar with.

Wukong looked around before landing on his best friend, “Ha, nah, I was just enjoying the fight a bit too much,” Wukong said, not wanting to admit that he was making a deal with Erlang.

“Get going; I’ll handle this elite while you take down that old clown,” Macaque said before disappearing into the shadows and appearing behind Erlang before starting a fight away from Wukong.

‘Time to put our names down in history,’ Wukong thought before jumping onto his cloud and flew toward where he last saw the Jade Emperor.

Several of his army and sworn brothers looked up and saw Wukong again heading directly toward the Jade Emperor’s throne room.

‘Go Wukong!! Make our dreams a reality!!!’ Thought Azure, the lion.

‘Show what we lowly demons can do and destroy this oppressive society!!!’ Thought the Bull King as he threw a jade guard at another group.

‘You better finish this, monkey, or I will finish it for you,’ Peng, the roc, thought as he flapped his wings hard enough to blow the surrounding guards away from him.

Wukong couldn’t hear their thoughts, but he knew what each one would say to him.

He felt their hope, dreams, and desire for a better tomorrow for them and his subjects.

“I won’t fail you. I will bring a better tomorrow for everyone!!!!!!” Wukong yelled as he destroyed the doors to the Jade Emperor's throne room.

“I see you have made it past Erlang and my army,” The Jade Emperor said distastefully.

“This could’ve ended if you actually acknowledged me and my brothers with the titles we claimed, but you have to be a stubborn old fart, and now here we are,” Wukong said as he casually spins his staff before stopping it and slamming it into the ground, clearing any dust still floating and creating a small shockwave.

“You are nothing but lowly, ugly demons who deserve nothing but to be stepped on and used as target practice,” The Jade Emperor said as he got up from his throne.

“You and the rest of your bottom feeders don’t even deserve to set foot here, a mistake I’ll fix right now,” The Jade Emperor grew to the size of a giant amongst giants as he towered over Wukong and pulled out his sword that grew proportionate to him.

“I guess we’re doing this the hard way then. Good, I’ve been itching to fight you since you attacked my island and my people,” Wukong said as he jumped up to The Jade Emperor faster than the eye could see, but was blocked just as fast.

Several hours later

Wukong was on his knees, and his army was defeated, shackled, and in chains, along with his sworn brothers.

“Tch, can’t believe I got dirty over a simple monkey, Nezha!!” The Jade Emperor yelled out.

An eternal 12-yr-old showed up next to The Jade Emperor. “Yes, sire,” “Contact The Great Buddha; they will know what to do. I’m sure they have already heard about this debacle by now,” The Jade Emperor said as he returned to his throne.

“I am here,” said a voice everyone recognized.

Everyone, including Wukong and his sworn brothers, looked at The Great Buddha themselves in awe as they were here.

The Great Buddha appears translucent, yet is larger than the Jade Emperor in his entirety.

“Ah! Great Buddha, your quick action of coming here humbles me,” The Jade Emperor said as he bowed along with everyone else except for Wukong.

The Great Buddha notices this and stares at the stone monkey.

“Oh, Wukong, you have done a lot of wrong here today,” The Great Buddha said as they looked down toward Wukong.

“They attacked us first!!!” Wukong yelled out.

“You could’ve let it go, rebuilt, and lived peacefully next to the heavens,” The Great Buddha said.

“They would’ve seen it as a sign of submission and see us as nothing more than something to stomp on,” Wukong said.

The Great Buddha refused to think their followers would ever do that.

The Great Buddha sighed before thinking, ‘I think he will fit better while learning some things in a different era with a certain boy,’ The Great Buddha held out their hand for Wukong to jump onto.

Wukong didn’t jump onto their hand but instead slowly pulled out his staff, ready to fight The Great Buddha themself.

The Great Buddha saw this coming and let it play out before slamming Wukong to the ground on an island near China.

“Ah!!” Wukong yelled out in pain as The Great Buddha’s hand formed into a cavern with talismans and chains, keeping The Great Sage Equal to Heaven: The Monkey King in place.

“This is where you will remain until someone of my choosing frees you. Only then will your lesson begin. Until then, you must wait,” The Great Buddha said before disappearing.

When Wukong’s sworn brothers and army saw what had happened, they started to worry for him. He had tried to fight Buddha and had been slammed into the earth so fast and hard that it was impossible to believe that he would’ve survived.

“Wukong!!!!! Where is he?!?! What happened?!?!” Macaque yelled out as he tried to get free, along with his other sworn brothers.

“Wukong!!! You must get back up!!! Please!!!” Azure yelled out as tears threatened to run down his face.

“Don’t you dare give up, Wukong. You are my sworn brother, and I know that a hit like that wouldn’t even be enough to daze you!!!” The Bull King yelled, not believing someone as strong as Wukong is dead or had given up.

ENOUGH!!!!!!” Yelled the Jade Emperor.

“Execute these pathetic demons ,” The Jade Emperor spat out with as much venom as he could.

“No! Please, my Emperor. They have no leader anymore and have lost the will to fight; surely they have been punished enough,” Erlang begged as he kneeled down between The Jade Emperor, his guards, and Wukong's tied-up army.

The Jade Emperor looked at the army and only saw how pathetic they are, “Fine, no reason to dirty our weapons with their filthy blood.

The sworn brothers looked at Erlang in surprise, and they asked why he had stopped their execution. “Why did you spare us?” Azure asked.

“I promised Wukong that his army and his people will be protected by me, including you 6,” Erlang answered.

They were later transported back to Wukong's island with the rest of the army and Erlang.

“Erlang, what has happened to our brother and leader?” Bull King asked.

“He has been trapped under a mountain in a cavern until someone chosen by Buddha themselves could release him,” Erlang said.

They stared in silence, with some clenching their fists in anger. “If you want to start your own kingdom far from here, I understand, and I can help with that. Whatever you do beyond that, I’ll leave it to you,” Erlang offered.

“That would be nice, but I’m staying here; these guys need protection. I don’t think Wukongs old ‘friends’ won’t try and destroy this place when they hear about him being imprisoned by Buddha themself,” Macaque said as he left through the shadows.

“I shall stay nearby. I don’t think staying like a newborn calf in the wild would be wise, waiting for danger to strike. I shall travel where Wukong has been imprisoned and build my own kingdom from there, " The Bull King said.

“I… I can’t be here, not after everything we’ve been through; there’s too many memories of Wukong here. I need to go deeper into China and start anew,” Azure said, feeling sick and depressed.

“Not with us, you're not,” Peng said with Marmoset behind him.

“Are you sure? I’m sure you’ll be more useful here,” Azure said.

“We may have lost Wukong to those fat elites, but we’re not gonna lose the one that fought along with us,” said a gruff voice that belonged to Marmoset.

“And you?” Erlang asked the last member of the sage 7.

“I think I’ll go back to the ocean and try to keep it safe for our kind and maybe some humans; I’ll visit if I can,” Flood said before slithering toward the ocean.

And so our warriors went their separate ways, waiting for their leader, their friend, and their brother to return.

1,251 Yrs later

It was a warm July when we see our main character running down the street over several puddles and stopping in front of a giant crowd that was gawking at what was happening above them on a train overpass.

“Ugh, another one? This is the fifth time this week,” said a strange-looking man with a spray bottle for a head.

“Woah!! It's Kamui Woods!!! He’s a new hero, but he’s rising in the hero rankings fast despite that!!!” said a dark green-haired teen, writing down in a notebook that came out of nowhere.

“Huh, hey kid, you wanna be a hero?” Asked a man with multiple star-like protrusions coming out of his head.

The green-haired teen flinched in surprise when someone noticed him. “Is that why you're writing down in that notebook, wanting to become a hero?” the man continued.

The teen smiled and confirmed that that is what he wanted to do.

He turns back to the fight and sees a giant on the train tracks fighting against Kamui Woods, whose Quirk is Arbor, which allows him to control the wood his body produces on his arms.

The fight suddenly ended when a giant, never-before-seen heroine drop-kicked the villain into unconsciousness.

“The name’s Mt. Lady; happy to be of ass istance,” Mt. Lady said as she showed off her giant butt to the reporters.

Midoriya wrote down his findings and analysis of the Heroine before realizing he will be late for school if he didn’t leave right now.

Under the alleys of Japan, Musutafu. We see our Monkey King still trapped in a cavern with Talismen and chains untouched by time.

“Hey, bud, been a while since I last saw you; how’s life above ground?” Wukong asked to a somewhat faded drawing of his brothers.

“Yeah, ha, figures those silly humans haven’t changed that much, still living in small villages…” Wukong looks at the two drawings before hanging his head in defeat.

“This is hitting beyond rock bottom; I can’t believe I’m even pretending these two drawings are my brothers!!!!! But I suppose I deserve it for what I did to them,” Wukong said, depressed.

“At least they left you drawings of them so you won’t go completely crazy,” said a voice Wukong haven’t heard since he was imprisoned the first time.

Wukong immediately shot his head up to look around and saw The Great Buddha themself, translucent with golden wisps as usual.

“Huh, wasn’t expecting to see you again,” Wukong said in astonishment and surprise.

“It is time for your release, my chosen will be here soon, although, after all this time, I have begun to see the errors of the Celestials and their arrogance. I should’ve listened to you back then, but I still left you here with a lesson to be learned, only for it to be for naught when, after you finished your journey, the Celestials decided to test your dedication by attacking your kingdom. After everything you’ve done, I’m sorry. And now you are in a different age, much like your own, but also very different,” The Great Buddha said as they circled Wukong.

Wukong had a lot of questions about this chosen, but decided to ignore that and asked what he really wanted to know, “What about Bull King and his family? Are my subjects still  protected against the Celestials?” Wukong asked in rapid succession.

‘Hehe, even now, after all these centuries under the world, he still cares about his family and subjects,’ “They are all fine, and they are still protected,” Buddha said.

Wukong sighed in relief, “So, when is this ‘chosen’ supposed to get here?” Wukong asked.

“Soon, but I need to inform you of how much has changed in the centuries,” Buddha said.

“Ok, I mean, it couldn’t have changed that much; it’s only been, like, 5 or 600 yrs… Right?” Wukong asked, unease in his voice.

“It’s been 1,251 yrs since your second imprisonment,” Buddha said, looking sad that they had to tell Wukong this suddenly.

Wukong looked past Buddha into nothing as the full extent of what they said was being processed, ‘...I haven’t seen my brothers in over a millennium; I screwed up so bad,’ Wukong thought.

“I’ll transfer all the history that has happened to the human race in the past 1,200 yrs; it will be a bit overwhelming, so do brace yourself,” Buddha said as they lifted their hand in front of Wukong's face as a thin line of energy from their hand to Wukong's head.

Wukong absorbed all the information about what had happened over the years and felt multiple emotions at what he saw.

The wars, the cruelty to his kind and to other humans, the amount of wrongs done for progress; It was cruel and wrong; so many things more.

Musutafu: Underpass. 10 Minutes from Aldera High.

We see a familiar green-haired teen walking toward an underpass while clutching a soggy, burnt notebook.

“That idiot. You can’t go telling people to kill themselves,” He said to himself as he stopped to process what has happened today.

“What if I really jumped? What would he do then?” He asked the air before remembering the day he was diagnosed Quirkless, and he told the rest of his class.

After that day, he would watch a video of the number 1 hero, All Might.

It was a video about All Might’s debut as a pro-hero, saving hundreds of people in less than an hour.

“Even when things look impossible, he never gives up,” He said, laughing loudly like All Might before ending it with a sad ‘heh’ as he passed under the bridge.

He didn’t notice a sewer grate rattling before bursting off the ground and embedding itself into the roof of the underpass.

“(Gasp) A villain!” The Green-haired teen said.

A green, slimy substance burst out of the sewers, smelling like it had been swimming in it. “Ah, you’ll make a perfect skin suit,” said the living sewage slime.

The green-haired teen screamed before trying to run away, but failed as a tendril caught one of his legs and dragged him toward the owner of the tendril.

“For me to hide in, kid,” The living sewage finished as he covered the teen in the slime and sewage before going through the teen's mouth.

‘Is this how I die!?!? Choking on living sewage before I get to save anyone.

“It’ll be easier if you don’t fight back!” Yelled the living sewage.

‘I’m sorry, Mom. I’m sorry I was a disappointment. I’m sorry I was such a burden to you and everyone else,’ He thought as he slowly faded from consciousness.

The teen prayed to any deity listening to help him.

[Soft gong]

When he opens his eyes again, he sees that he is in a cavern lit by blue torches.

He looked around and sees gold chains with countless talismen covering every 5th chain.

He looked around until his eyes landed on a figure at the cavern's center.

“H-hello? Uh, W-where am I?” The teen asked the stranger in the center of the cavern.

“Huh? Oh, I guess you’re the one who’ll release me,” said the stranger.

“What?! What do you mean ‘release,’ you?” The teen asked.

“Hm? Oh, you were chosen to release me from The Great Buddha themselves. Apparently, I’m supposed to be more welcomed in this Era,” The stranger said, mumbling the last bit.

“W-who are you?” The teen asked, afraid they had been thrown from one dangerous situation into another.

“Did they not tell you? Or talk to you… at all?” The stranger asked.

“N-no, I was being choked by a villain made of sewage before being brought here,” The teen said.

“Hm, yeah, that sounds like them,” said the stranger.

“Welp, anyway, my name is,” The stranger was about to say their name, but nothing came out.

“Huh? It’s________! It’s ________! I am The __________ _________ ________ _________!!!!!!” The stranger yelled, but nothing came out.

“Wha?” The Teen questioned.

“Hmmm, maybe if you release me, then maybe I could tell you,” The stranger said.

“B-but how will I know you won’t attack me?” The teen questioned anxiously.

“Why would I attack you? Unless you want to fight, then sure,” said the stranger.

“N-no! I don’t want to fight. So, how do I release you?” The teen asked.

“You just have to rip off one of those talismen, and the rest should follow. Just, uh, be careful not to be too close to them when they disappear, alright,” The stranger said.

The teen walked toward the closest talismen and ripped it off the chain before tearing it in half.

As soon as he did that, the rest of the Talismen burned up by blue flames coming from the talismen themselves.

“AHHH!” The teen screamed as all the golden chains retracted into the cavern walls and heard the sound of solid rock breaking.

The stranger's eyes glowed a bright, solid golden orange before that same glow traveled through the cracks, and some of the glow was floating in the air.

“Graahhh!” The stranger yelled as the rocks holding him in place burst away from him and flew toward the walls.

‘Ah! Woah! Gah!” The teen dodged the boulders that were bursting away from the stranger before falling face-first into the ground, avoiding the last boulder.

“Whew! You have no idea how cramped your muscles can become after being trapped for over a thousand years. Ugh, I'm gonna need a minute,” The stranger said as they stretched in ways the teen didn’t think was possible.

“So, what’s your name, kid?” The stranger asked.

“Wha? O-oh, I-it’s Midoriya, Midoriya Izuku,” Midoriya said, rubbing the back of his green-haired head.

“Hm, nice name, anyway, since I wasn’t able to tell you before, my name is Sun Wukong, The Great Sage Equal To Heaven!” Sun Wukong said, pulling out his staff at the end of his stretching and twirling it around.

“Huh?” Midoriya stared at Wukong questioningly.

“Not surprised you haven’t heard of me; I have been gone for almost two thousand years,” Wukong said.

“No, I have heard of you, but I thought you were just made up, just a legend from B.Q.E (Before Quirk Era),” Midoriya said.

“Oh? My legendary feats survived for this long?” Wukong asked while he was posing and flexing.

“But in the stories, you were released long before Quirks manifested, so why were you still underground?” Midoriya asked.

“That’s a long story that I’ll tell you once we’re out of here,” Wukong said as he remembers his journey with the monk and his friends.

“Anyway, I’ll find you soon, just stay alive as long as you can; you said you were being choked by a villain that was made of sewage, right?” Wukong asked.

Midoriya nodded, confused about what he meant by finding him. “Yeah, but why do you need to find me? I’m right here,” Midoriya asked.

“You seriously haven’t noticed yet?” Wukong asked before pointing at Midoriya’s hands.

Midoriya looked down at his hands and saw that he was slightly orange and see-through. “AHHH!!!!” Midoriya yelled out in panic.

“You’re fine, but I don’t know about your body, though. I’ll send you back with a bit of my power so you can fight off that villain. Don’t die before I get there!” Wukong said before flicking Midoriya’s head, sending him back to his body at high speeds.

Back at Midoriya’s body.

Midoriya woke up to find himself on the ground, being gently slapped by a hand the size of his face.

“Wah!!! What happened?!?! Where am I?!?!” Midoriya yelled out in fear.

“You are fine, young man! Now that I AM HERE!!!!” Yelled a voice, Midoriya recognized from countless views, and following his number one hero.

“ALL MIGHT!!!” Midoriya yelled out in surprise at seeing his idol.

YES, IT IS I, NOW, YOUNG MAN, ARE YOU FEELING OK? YOU ARE NOT INJURED ANYWHERE?” All Might asked.

“I-I think I am fine, but thank you so much for saving me!!” Midoriya screamed in excitement and gratitude.

YOU ARE VERY WELCOME, YOUNG MAN. NOW, IF YOU’LL EXCUSE ME, I HAVE TO GET THIS VILLAIN TO THE NEAREST POLICE PRECINCT!!!” All Might said before getting ready to jump away.

‘I’ve got to hurry; I don’t have much time left!’ All Might thought as he didn’t feel a sudden weight on his leg.

As he was soaring through the air from his jump, he heard screaming from below him and sees it’s Midoriya clinging tightly to his leg, the wind blowing his face back.

HEY, HEY, HEY!!! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING?!?!” All Might asked as he tried to push Midoriya off of him.

LET GO!!! I LOVE MY FANS, BUT THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!!” All Might exclaimed.

“No!! We’re flying!!! If I let go, I’ll fall to my death!!!!” Midoriya yelled over the wind.

All Might realized this and decided to land on the nearest rooftop.

“Oh, my goodness, I almost died again today,” Midoriya muttered to himself.

“Sorry, All Might, I’ve just got (pant) a really personal question to ask you,” Midoriya said, still winded by another near-death experience.

I’M SORRY, BUT I HAVE NO TIME. KNOCK ON THE DOOR, SOMEONE WILL EVENTUALLY LET YOU IN,” All Might said as he walked toward the roof's edge.

“Wait!! I have to know!!! Can someone Quirkless become a hero?!?!?!” Midoriya asked loudly.

All Might paused before slightly turning his head toward Midoriya.

“I’m a normal kid without any powers. Could I ever become someone like you?!?!?” Midoriya asked.

“People think I don’t have a chance. Because I don’t have any power, I would be nothing more than a target for the villains to shoot at while the real heroes take them down. My classmates bully and make fun of me just because I dream of becoming a hero. I want to prove them wrong; I have wanted to save people since I was little, because I think saving people is the coolest thing! I want people to see me smile and think that they are safe. I want to be the hero that inspires everyone to keep going,” While Midoriya was talking, he didn’t notice All Might’s form shrinking into a skeleton-like form.

“I want to be what everyone looks up to!” Midoriya finally looks at All Might and sees him as a skeleton.

“Huh?.... Wha!!!!!” Midoriya screamed in surprise and fear.

Underpass: Musutafu.

“Where did he go?” Wukong asked nobody in particular.

Wukong looked to the ground before activating his Fiery Golden Eyes to track Midoriya and found him talking to a skeleton-looking man on a rooftop.

“There he is! He must’ve gotten help from that guy,” Wukong said before jumping onto his cloud and rode it toward Midoriya.

‘Wonder how he got up there?’ Wukong thought but quickly dismissed it as the distance between Midoriya and him shortened.

“...I’m supposed to be the guy who’s always smiling, right? I’m the symbol of peace. People everywhere have to think that I’m never afraid… But honestly, there’s a lot of fear hiding behind that smile, and I have to put on a brave face when the pressure is high,” All Might said as he slid down against the railing.

“Pro heroes are always putting their lives in danger, and some villains can’t be beaten without powers. So, can you be a hero without a Quirk?” All Might stayed quiet for almost a minute before answering.

“No, I don’t think you can be a hero without Quirk,” Midoriya looked at All Might in shock at his answer.

“If you wanna help people, there are plenty of other ways, like being a doctor or joining the police force. I know they get crap because the heroes capture the villains, but they actually do the work, and people trust them,” All Might said before standing up and heading toward the door.

“I think you’re wrong,” A voice Midoriya recognized, but All Might didn’t.

What appeared before them was a sunset-orange-haired monkey with peach-colored markings covering his eyes. He’s wearing a yellow, long-sleeved kimono with red trousers, topped with a tiger pelt, and a white tie belt to keep them up. He wore black and white boots. On his shoulders is a red scarf.

They both turned toward the voice to see, “Sun Wukong! Y-you’re here!” Midoriya said in surprise.

“Yup, and I have to say that this guy is wrong; you can become a hero, Midoriya. Even if you don’t have those weird powers that everyone has,” Wukong said as he jumped off his cloud and onto the roof.

“Y-you do?” Midoriya asked with hope in his voice.

“Yup, and I’m going to help train you,” Wukong said as he put his hand on Midoriya’s shoulder.

“I don’t think that’s a good idea. Being a hero is dangerous, especially if you don’t have a Quirk,” All Might said.

“Please, as if that stopped anyone before. Plus, who are you to judge when you obviously aren’t a hero?” Wukong said, not knowing he is talking to the number 1 hero.

All Might wanted to disprove that, but realized that this ‘Sun Wukong’ didn’t hear the first half of the conversation between him and Young Midoriya.

“...I may not be a hero, but I work with All Might very closely and know he wouldn’t forgive himself if he didn’t try and convince this young man to try and take a safer career path,” All Might said.

“Then he doesn’t remember what it was like starting out. He doesn’t remember the first time he fought someone way above his skill level and had to find a way to win,” Wukong said, staring straight into All Might's eyes.

“Anyone who wanted to be a hero knew the risks and the dangers. Telling someone else who has the same dream as you to give up and choose something else because they don’t have the same level of power you do now is biased and idiotic,” Wukong said.

All Might looked into Wukong's eyes and processed what he said before realizing that Wukong was right.

“(sigh) You are right, I shouldn’t have gotten in the way-” All Might was interrupted by an explosion in the distance.

The three looked toward the explosion and grew concerned.

All Might reflectively went to his pants to make sure the villain was still there, only to realize they were not there.

“Come on, kid, let’s see what’s going on and consider this a little preview into what the training will be like,” Wukong said as he motioned for Midoriya to follow.

Wukong jumped onto his cloud and flew away, leaving Midoriya on the rooftop.

“...W-wait up!!!” Midoriya stared up in surprise before realizing that Wukong had started his training already.

All Might stood there as he saw Midoriya and this Wukong person approaching the explosion.

All Might decided to follow them and rushed down the building stairs to catch up with them.

Over at the explosion, heroes are scrambling to contain the villain and limit the destruction caused by the hostage the villain has taken.

“Damn, kid, calm down; we can’t get near you if you don’t cool it with your Quirk!” said a hero wearing a dirty light blue leotard with his chest exposed and blue jeans; he also had safety tape colors around his wrist and head.

This hero is named Deatharms; his Quirk is a form of super strength.

‘I don’t have the right Quirk for this. Sorry, kid, you’re gonna have to hold on for a bit longer,” Deatharms thought as he tries to keep falling debris from the civilians who came to gawk and stare at the destruction.

“Let go of me!!! You damn piece of shit!!!” Yelled the hostage with the explosive Quirk.

“Hahaha!!! That’s good, kid! Keep using that Quirk to keep these heroes away. Hehe, with this power, I’ll be able to take down All Might in one hit,” The living sewage said, directing the hostage blasts toward the heroes and surrounding buildings.

Above them was a stone monkey on his cloud, watching the heroes doing nothing to help the hostage, but instead were just standing around.

“Hmm, I thought that blue guy would go in there to pull that kid out, but I guess he isn’t brave enough,” Wukong said.

Wukong turned his ears toward the crowd before fully turning his head and saw Midoriya in the crowd, slightly panting and looking past the crowd to see what is happening.

‘W-w-wait, isn’t that the villain that All Might captured?’ Midoriya thought as he made his way to the front of the crowd.

Behind Midoriya was All Might, at the back of the crowd, watching the same villain he had captured attack again, and grab another hostage. ‘Must’ve dropped him while I was in the air! I was too distracted about my time limit! Can’t believe I made such a rookie mistake,’ All Might thought as he scolds himself.

Especially since he told Midoriya what it took to be a hero, he thought how pathetic he is in that moment.

Midoriya also blamed himself for distracting All Might and letting that villain escape.

While Midoriya continued to blame himself, Wukong thought about approaching this before seeing Midoriya's eyes widen and run toward the villain.

‘Huh…Wasn’t expecting,' Was all Wukong thought before seeing Midoriya throw his backpack at the sewage villain's eyes and went to grab the hostage.

“What are you doing, Deku!?!” Yelled the hostage.

“I dunno! My legs just moved on their own!” Midoriya said, clawing at the sewage off of Bakugo.

All Might and Wukong heard this; they were both surprised and smiled at what Midoriya said.

“I couldn’t just stand there and watch you die!” Midoriya said.

“GRAAAHHH!!!!! That’s it!!! I’M DONE PLAYIN WITH YOU!!!!” yelled the villain as he formed a tendril and started to whip it at Midoriya, but didn’t get the chance.

“AH!” Midoriya screamed before he could see the tendril was being blocked by a golden Chinese magic circle with a few letters being a neon green.

It then repelled the tentacle away from Midoriya. Midoriya was caught off guard by the sudden shield that he didn’t react fast enough to block the second tentacle, but someone else blocked it for him.

“...I REALLY AM PATHETIC… I TOLD YOU THE TRAITS THAT MAKES A GREAT HERO, BUT I SEE THAT I WASN’T LIVING UP TO MY OWN IDEALS!!! THAT MONKEY PERSON WAS RIGHT; PROS ARE ALWAYS RISKING THEIR LIVES!! ” All Might said as he pushed the tendril away from himself and Midoriya, “ THAT’S THE TRUE TEST OF BEING A HERO!!!!!” All Might said before readying a punch.

“Gah! Not this time, All Might!!!” The villain screamed before forming more tendrils to hit All Might with.

All Might quickly grabbed the hostage and Midoriya before shouting, “DETRIOT….SMASH!!!!!” The punch sent the sewage villain, dust, and some heroes and civilians flying, but they were protected by the heroes and their quick thinking, allowing them to stay on the ground.

After a few moments, a drop fell from the sky, followed by another, and it was full-on raining in the district.

“He-he changed the weather with a single punch,” Said a bystander in the crowd in amazement.

The crowd roared in amazement and awe at the show of power.

All Might nearly toppled over but was quickly steadied by Wukong, who flew down to check on everyone.

“You did good, skeleton man. How about you take a rest?” Wukong said.

All Might looked down behind him and realized that Wukong probably saw him transformed before he stopped that villain.

“You!!” One of the heroes yelled as they angrily pointed at Midoriya, “You are in trouble!” The heroes drew closer to Midoriya and the boy All Might had saved.

The Ambulance set the two boys on a gurney to check up on them while the heroes berated Midoriya while praising the kid who was causing explosions and being held hostage.

“Are they serious? Are they scolding a child for doing their job?” Wukong asked All Might incredulously.

All Might turned toward where the other heroes were and saw that they were scolding Midoriya for doing their job better than them.

“That’s enough!” Wukong yelled at the heroes before they turned toward him.

All Might didn’t notice Wukong left as soon as he turned toward the other heroes. “I think you should be praising the kid instead of projecting your own incompetence at him,” Wukong said as he got between Midoriya and the heroes.

“Stay out of this! This kid could’ve made things worse or gotten him and that promising young hero dead because he wanted to play hero!” Yelled Deatharms.

“He wasn’t playing hero; he was being a hero; that ‘promising hero’ was causing more damage than that sewage villain ever was and probably would cause more if this kid didn’t step in.” Wukong stared down Deatharms with his arms crossed over his chest.

“We had the situation handled just fine,” said a talking tree.

“Pfft, as if, toothpick. None of you could get close because that brat tried to free himself violently instead of trying to work with you, and he didn’t get a scolding,” Wukong said.

“My name is Kamui Woods, and you should be more respectful towards us heroes,” Kamui Woods said.

“Or what? You're not gonna save me next time there’s an attack? Or maybe you’re gonna arrest me for giving you lip?” Wukong asked, knowing that Kamui can’t do anything.

“S-S-Son Wukong, maybe that’s enough; I-I-I think they get it,” Midoriya said, trying to stop this from escalating.

“No! They need to know what they are doing is wrong! Praising someone for destroying and nearly getting everyone killed while scolding the one person who actually did something when everyone else at the time did nothing,” Wukong said, getting angrier and angrier at the heroes.

I believe the young man is right; I believe they have learned their lesson,” All Might said as he placed his hand on Wukong’s shoulder.

Wukong quickly looked at the hand before looking up at All Might, who gestured toward the crowd and the news team who were filming the conversation between him and the heroes.

Wukong huffed before sighing. “Fine, come on, Midoriya. I still have to thank you for helping me out of that mountain,” he said, holding out a hand for Midoriya to grab.

Midoriya hesitated for a second before grabbing it and felt himself being pulled into the air and landing on a soft cloud.

“Point me in the direction of your home, and I’ll drop you off; then we’ll start planning your training for you to be a hero,” Wukong said as he and Midoriya floated higher in the air before flying in the direction Midoriya quickly pointed to.

‘I need to find Young Midoriya so I can properly apologize and ask him-’ All Might’s thought process was interrupted by the three heroes Wukong was scolding.

“Can you believe that guy?! He’s telling us off when that Quirkless brat wouldn’t have been any help whatsoever!!” Yelled a new heroine.

“But he was right,” Kamui Woods said.

“What are you talking about?” Asked the heroine.

“That kid was more useful than all of us combined, and we were scolding the wrong person,” Kamui said before turning toward the other teen.

“We shouldn’t be praising you at all since you caused more property damage and made it harder for us heroes to actually help. You also could’ve sent the debris to hit someone or kill one of us heroes who were trying to protect the citizens,” Kamui said, crossing his arms as he stared down at the teen.

“IF YOU COULDN’T PROTECT THOSE SHITTY EXTRAS FROM A FEW STRAY PEBBLES THEN THAT’S ON YOU, YOU SHITTY TWIG!!!!” yelled the explosive teen.

“...” Everyone stayed silent as they heard this teen insult the heroes and civilians.

“What’s your name, young man?” Kamui asked as he pulled out a notepad and pencil.

“Bakugo Katsuki!!! Remember it because I’m going to be the next number 1 hero!” Bakugo yelled out.

Kamui wrote something down before tearing out the page and handing it to Bakugo, who angrily snatched it out of his hands.

Bakugo looked down at the note and saw it was a ticket fine for misuse of Quirk, Illegal use of said Quirk, and not corporating with the heroes in a deadly situation, “WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS!!!!” Bakugo yelled out in indignation.

“It’s a fine for all the crimes you have committed while being held hostage and making it harder for us to rescue you because you kept firing off your Quirk illegally,” Kamui Woods said before walking away to fill out the police report and continue patrol.

Chapter 2: Roaring Monkies

Summary:

Part 2 of the first chapter not much happening

Chapter Text

‘Ok, I’ll admit, this is not one of my most thought-out plans,’ I thought as I landed at Midoriya’s residence with Izuku still clutching and shaking while flying at low Mach speed.

“Ok, uh, I guess I should figure some things out,” I said as I waited for Izuku to let go.

“L-l-l-like w-w-w-w-w-what?” Izuku asked.

“Like, where am I going to stay? Or training? Or—” I was interrupted by a smaller female version of Izuku, who opened the door in a panic. She grabbed Izuku and started crying like a water spirit, possibly rivaling a water dragon.

“MY BABY!!!!!! ARE YOU ALRIGHT!?!?!? I saw that slimy villain attacking you on the news and got so scared!!” Ms. Midoriya cried out, causing a literal stream of tears going down the stairs.

“...Is your mother part water dragon? Or at least water spirit?” I asked, surprised that a human could produce this much water without getting dehydrated.

“Wahh!! Who is this strange man? What are you doing here?!” Ms. Midoriya yelled out in fear and surprise.

“Oh, hi, I’m… huh, how should I introduce myself?” I asked aloud.

“Mom, this is my new friend, uh, Wukong Sun,” Izuku said.

‘Huh? Oh right, last name first, then first name; I never really understood that formality stuff,’ Wukong thought, “Just call me Monkey King, and I’m here because I’m gonna train your son to be the greatest warrior this country has ever seen,” I said, crossing my arms in confidence.

... WHAT!?!?!?!” Ms. Midoriya yelled in surprise.

“Y-y-you’re telling me that you’re the legendary Monkey King!?!?! Or maybe you’re Izuku’s quirk and it finally manifested,” Ms. Midoriya shouted before mumbling the second half.

Izuku and I looked at each other to decide on a story. I chose the truth, since I’m not known for being stealthy or keeping secrets.

“I am the real monkey king, and your son is still quirkless. He released me from my prison earlier in the afternoon, and for that, I will repay him by training him to be the best ‘hero,’ or whatever is considered a warrior nowadays,” I said, using air quotes for the word hero.

Izuku turned as pale as an A nü gui being beaten up by one of my monkeys. I was about to say more, but Izuku interrupted me, “I-I-I-I think i-i-its better if w-w-we talk about this stuff inside,” Izuku said, waving his hands frantically.

“Hmm? I guess that makes sense, don’t want unwanted ears listening,” I said, whispering the last part to myself.

I looked around and saw many strange items similar to those I had seen in Buddha’s visions of what had happened while I was imprisoned.

Izuku POV.

‘Oh my All Might, OH MY ALL MIGHT, OH MY ALL MIGHT!!!!! How am I going to explain this to Mom!!?!? How am I going to explain everything to Monkey King!?!?!? He’s been trapped for thousands of years and doesn’t know any modern technology or language!!!’ I thought as I continued to panic internally.

“Can you start at the beginning?” Ms. Midoriya asked.

“OK! I believe it all started when I broke out of a stone on top of a mountain, being bathed by celestial magic, and I bowed to the cardinal directions-” Wukong-san began but was interrupted.

“I think she meant when we met, Wukong-san,” I said, clarifying what my mom meant.

“Oh, right. (Clears throat) I was trapped under a mountain here in Japan when Buddha themselves told me that someone he had chosen would free me. Before I was released, Buddha informed me of what happened over the centuries and where all my friends are,” Wukong-san said.

‘Buddha… Does he mean the same Buddha that was told to be the entire universe itself!!!’ I thought in a panic.

“After that, Izuku appeared in front of me, smelling like sewage was trying to go for the honeymoon scene,” Wukong-san continued.

Mom paled significantly after hearing that, then cried even more, and crashed into me with a crushing hug, with some of the tears getting absorbed by my clothes.

“Uhhh, should I wait for her to be finished, or should I continue?” Wukong-san asked.

I gesture for him to continue the story as Mom slowed her crying. “Anyway, after he appeared, he started to panic and thought that I was a villain trying to trick him to release me and do whatever this Era of villains do,” Wukong-san said, trying to move past Mom making a pool in the apartment.

“I convinced him I wasn’t a villain; he pulled off one of the Talismen and released me; next thing I know, he disappears, and here I am looking for him as he’s on a rooftop with this skeleton blonde telling him to give up on his dreams, and I told ‘em that he was wrong,” Wukong-san closed his eyes and smirking proudly at us.

Inko POV.

When I heard Monkey King say that someone had disregarded her son's dreams, mocking him and trying to devalue his dream, I wasn’t surprised. However, what surprised me was Wukong-san saying he believed my precious baby could become a hero.

“D-d-do you really think my son can be a hero?” I asked, remembering the day he was diagnosed as Quirkless and saw him crying.

“I do; I believe he can become the greatest hero in any realm,” Monkey King said as he looked at us with honesty.

“Do you think he can get into U.A. even though he doesn’t have a Quirk?” I asked urgently.

“Huh? What’s that? Is that some sorta temple for warriors?” Monkey King asked.

“It’s a school for aspiring heroes; it's where I want to go to be a hero. It’s the top hero academy in the country!! It’s always been my dream to go there,” my baby boy said excitedly.

“Huh, sure, we can go for something that small for now; we can build up,” Monkey King said, scratching the back of his head casually.

“What!?!?! The exam to get in is ten months away!!!!! Not to mention all the other examinees that will-” My son was interrupted by a sudden tail smack on the top of his head.

“Stop panicking and start doing something about it,” Monkey King said.

I panicked slightly and checked on Izuku to see if he is alright, only to see him bounce right back while looking at Monkey King in awe and curiosity.

“If you want to stand up to the worse and be the picture of the strongest, then you can’t keep fear from your goals. You have to overcome that fear like you did earlier today and run forward with a smile to show who is the strongest!” Monkey King proclaimed.

Izuku looked at Monkey King like he was All Might. ‘Is Monkey King his new hero? Or maybe someone that could rival Izuku’s admiration toward All Might,’ I thought as I notice Izuku's eyes.

His eyes convey determination and a hint of confidence that will grow with time.

“So, will you do something about this unfair world? Or will you do nothing and let it walk all over you?” Monkey King asked, summoning his staff to point at Izuku, waiting for an answer.

“No, I won’t let this world walk over me anymore!!” Izuku yelled, clenching his fist between him and the Monkey King.

“Good! Better get some rest. We’re going to start training early tomorrow, and we’re going to meet an old friend of mine,” Monkey King said as he walked toward the door of the Apartment.

“W-w-where are you going in the meantime?” Izuku asks in a panic.

“I’m going home,” was all Monkey King said before disappearing into the sky toward the west.

“Where do you think he’s going, Izuku?” I asked, looking to Izuku for answers.

Izuku looks at the trail Monkey King left behind before answering, “I-I-I don’t know, but I’m sure he’ll come back,” Izuku tries to reassure me about the Monkey King before going back inside to prepare for tomorrow.

3rd POV.

Wukong flew toward Flower Fruit Mountain to see if his subjects were still safe after over 1,200 years.

‘Home sweet home. It’s good to be back and see everything is still here,’ Wukong thought.

Wukong landed on the sands of the island before looking up at the top of the mountain where his home lays.

“I’m sure some of my subjects are still around somewhere,” Wukong said as he began walking through the forest to the top of the mountain.

As he walks through the forest, he sees monkeys swinging and jumping from tree to tree, watching Wukong.

“Nice seeing my little buddies again. Hey!! I’m back!!” Wukong shouted as he reached the top of the mountain while also having a troupe of monkeys on his back while also carrying a baby monkey.

He looks at the waterfall blocking the way into his home before walking up to it and holding up one hand toward it.

A Chinese magic circle grew twice as big as Wukong, and the waterfall parted to reveal a magic barrier with Chinese symbols disappearing and reappearing before it disappeared completely, and he entered his home.

“So, you’re finally free for the second time?” A familiar voice asked from behind.

Wukong stops at the threshold of his home before turning around to see Erlang Shen.

“Nice to see you actually kept that promise all those centuries ago,” Wukong said.

I never believed the Jade Emperor was right to attack this place when so many had nothing to do with the fight between you and what’s left of the Celestial realm,” Erlang Shen said.

“So, got any good stories to tell me before I leave?” Wukong asked.

“I have a few, and also some news about a few of your brothers,” Erlang Shen said as he followed Wukong inside to tell him what he has experienced while he was trapped.

Morning at the Midoriya household.

Izuku Midoriya. A powerless human in a world full of superhumans, someone who has been portrayed as less than living, someone who has been underestimated his whole life.

Izuku woke up feeling exhausted from yesterday's adventure, still unable to believe it had happened.

Izuku walked to the kitchen to see his mom making breakfast with… with THE MONKEY KING IN HIS MOTHER'S KITCHEN.

“...WHAA!!! It wasn’t a dream!?!?!” Izuku exclaimed in surprise at not seeing one but two monkeys.

“Hm? Oh, hey, bud! Waking up a bit late, tho, I guess I’ll let it slide this time since it’s the first day of training,” Wukong said.

Izuku screamed that he had forgotten that he was supposed to wake up early for training. He rushed back into his room to retrieve some workout clothes that he had researched the previous night.

“I’ve gathered materials and researched what you might’ve done while training before challenging The Celestial realm-” Izuku was interrupted by Monkey King grabbing him with some to-go breakfast.

“We’ll be back in a few days, Mrs. Midoriya, possibly a few months,” Wukong said as he carried Izuku with his tail out the door.

‘Hehe, I haven’t been called ‘Mrs’ since Hisashi’s funeral. I wonder if Hisashi is watching us from wherever he is,’ Inko thought as she looked over to a picture of a small Izuku covered in clumps of dirt with her and Hisashi smiling at a park.

Chapter 3: Roaring monkies pt 2

Chapter Text

3rd POV.

We open to see the sun shining brightly before panning down to one of the Flower Fruit Mountain islands from a distance, before slowly closing in on the beach with one green-haired teen chasing after the Monkey King on his cloud, going at the slowest speed the cloud could go while still moving.

“Come on now, just a couple more laps around the Island and then we’ll be done with the warm-up,” Monkey King said, laying on the cloud on his back.

“You (Heavy panting) You said that (Pant) 20 laps ago,” Midoriya said, voice raspy and barely heard as he’s barely staying at the same speed as the somersault cloud.

“Oh, I forgot that you mortals have different perceptions, all well, we can have a break before getting into some stances,” Monkey King said as he jumped off his position and landed on his feet.

Midoriya collapsed as soon as he heard they could take a break. He fell backwards with his limbs sprawled out while he breathed heavily and dramatically.

Monkey King looked down at Izuku before scratching the back of his head in embarrassment.

“Heh, yeah, sorry, bud, I forgot that mortals don’t have that much stamina compared to me,” Monkey King said as he showed a cheeky smile.

“That’s fine, Monkey King. I have a lot to do if I’m to catch up with everyone else. I’ve spent too long waiting for someone else’s approval, that I’ve barely done any training,” Izuku said, somehow regaining a second wind.

The Monkey King was curious about how Izuku had caught his second wind already, along with keeping pace with him after circling the island for over 30 laps.

The Monkey King's eyes turned golden as he saw within Izuku, realizing that a small piece of his power had been absorbed into something else.

‘Huh? Did the kid actually have a power of his own? It would explain, despite being part of the newest generation, why he doesn’t have a ‘Quirk’ like the rest,’ Monkey King thought as his eyes went back to normal.

“Hey, kid, do you know if anyone in your family knows how to do magic or was secretly from another realm?” Monkey King asked, actually expecting an answer.

Izuku looked at Monkey King in confusion before answering, “Um, I-I don’t think so. Mom and Dad adopted me when they found me. I don’t know who they were or anything about their family,” Izuku said, looking down at the sand while rubbing the back of his neck.

Monkey King looks at Izuku in surprise and curiosity.

“Really? But both of you have the same hair colour,”  Monkey King said.

Izuku looks at Monkey King with a sheepish smile before saying that the colour of hair is pretty common nowadays, and every 7 out of 10 citizens have a variation of green hair or mixed with another colour.

“So, you don’t know where you come from? Or what happened to whoever your parents are?” Wukong asked.

Midoriya thought about it for a bit before answering Wukong, “I haven’t found anything on them. Mom and Dad tried for my 10th birthday, but couldn’t find anything. They even asked a hero who specializes in finding missing people; they just need their DNA or something close to it to find them, so they took a sample of my blood, but they couldn’t find anything, not even a location of where they could be,” Midoriya said.

‘I have a few theories on what that could possibly mean, but we should get back to training,’ Wukong thought to himself as he picked Midoriya like a baby monkey by the nape of his shirt.

“Ok, break-time over, you did good for a warm-up, now, we get into something a little more intensive,” Wukong said as he let Midoriya go and toward his waterfall cave with Midoriya running to catch up to him.

It took Izuku almost 30 minutes to get to the cave with Wukong lying on his cloud with a few white baby monkeys jumping on top of him.

“Hm? Oh, you’re finally here. We're gonna have to fix that,” Wukong said.

“(Pant) S-sorry, Wukong-san, (pant)” Midoriya said, panting.

Wukong waved it off before opening the entrance to his home, “I have an old… uh… acquaintance? Yeah, acquaintance, that agreed to help me with your training since they haven’t been trapped under a mountain for over a millennium,” Wukong said as he continued to float on his cloud.

Midoriya perked up at the mention of someone else helping him train, “W-who could it be? Could it be one of his brothers-in-arms from before he was imprisoned? Or maybe someone he fought before? He did say they were acquaintances instead of friends or more,” Midoriya went into his famous mumble storms.

“Hey, kid? You should probably stop mumbling so much before you accidentally invoke a spell,” Wukong said as he continued to lead Midoriya to his place and old acquaintance.

Midoriya stumbled a bit before apologizing again for his mumblings.

“It’s fine, kid, I have subjects that love to mumble and ramble like you do, although they sometimes invoke some spells by accident,” Wukong remembers a time before his second imprisonment, when one of his subjects rambled in their usual monkey language when they suddenly failed a spell in their faces before falling on their back.

“THAT COULD HAPPEN!?!?!” Midoriya asked in surprise.

“I see Wukong is retelling you of his past. Which story is he telling you this time?” Asked a voice Midoriya doesn’t recognize.

“Ah! H-h-h-hello, I-I-I-I’m Midoriya Izuku!” Midoriya said too loudly before bowing 90 degrees.

The new visitor chuckled silently before speaking, “Hello, Midoriya, I am Erlang Shen, former head guard for the Jade Emperor. I have been here for both of Wukong's imprisonments,” Erlang said.

Midoriya stood straight from his bowing with his eyes wide at the now named Erlang Shen, “T-The Erlang Shen, the same one that fought against numerous demons, gods, and Monkey King!!!” Midoriya shouted in surprise and fear as he quickly backed away from Erlang Shen and behind Wukong.

“Don’t worry, Bud. Shen and I are cool with each other now,” Wukong quickly looked toward Erlang to make sure they were on good terms.

Erlang nodded his head in confirmation that they were on good terms.

“Let’s start with a simple block, Wukong,” Erlang said.

“Hm? Oh, yeah,” Wukong said as he pulled a strand of hair and blew on it to change it into a golden cudgel.

“I see you still haven’t found your staff. Or are you waiting for someone else to find it?” Erlang said, subtly looking toward Midoriya.

“I know where it is…I just thought I could start Midoriya off easy before getting into the tougher stuff,” Wukong said.

“Wait, you don’t have your staff? I thought you always have it,” Midroriya said, surprised that the legendary Ruyi Jingu Bang isn’t with the equally legendary Monkey King.

“There was something that happened a bit before I was imprisoned for a second time. We don’t really need to get into it, let’s just say that I fought someone that was attacking a nearby village on the island that you call Japan. I stopped him, but I lost my staff after I was done, along with a former friend again,” Wukong said, the last part whispered that only Erlang could hear.

Midoriya’s mind began racing at 20 kilometers a minute, trying to find out where his staff could be.

“You know the staff responds to your magic only; you can probably summon it, but why haven’t you?” Erlang asked, knowing what the answer might be.

“...” Wukong looked at Midoriya, who was beginning to mumble up a storm before Wukong answered.

“There’s something in the kid I sensed; I know you can sense it as well,” Wukong said.

“I have. Though if you are set on him being the one to inherit your staff,” Erlang said.

“I don’t know, that’s up to him, it’s always up to him. He always had the power to choose; everyone around him just made him think he didn’t have any,” Wukong said.

“Hmm, reminds me of another being, being told they couldn’t be anything more than a lowly demon monkey, but defied them at every step, made his own choices, before fighting alongside his brothers,” Erlang said.

“Ha! I don’t see it; I’m clearly more handsome than any being. Though, maybe some of my awesomeness could rub off on him and he could be the handsomest mortal,” Wukong said jokingly.

“I believe we should stop his ramblings before he accidentally speaks a spell,” Erlang said as he and Wukong approached Midoriya to get him out of his ramblings.

Wukong flicks Midoriya’s head gently to get him out of his ramblings.

“OW!” Midoriya yelped before rubbing his forehead in pain, before realizing he wasn’t knocked out.

“Ok, time for a long training session, starting with some simple stances to see where you are at in balance, footing, and overall skill,” Wukong said as he threw the transformed staff toward Midoriya, who clumsily caught it.

Midoriya's stance would call a ‘frighten coward before getting punched,’ as his knees were touching and holding the staff in front of him with his hands next to each other instead of evenly apart and legs low and wide.

“Oookay, that is not a stance of a warrior; that is a stance of someone who’s just asking to be cannon fodder. Here, spread your legs evenly apart, get lower to the ground for it to be harder to knock you over, and lower the staff to your waist with your hands far enough apart,” Wukong said as he helped Midoriya’s stance by physically moving a few of his limbs.

“Okay, better, but let’s start with swings for five minutes before seeing what else needs improvement. This will be a long journey for you, tho, given how short your mortal life is, and that exam, whatever it is, we’ll just give you the basics until after the exam and continue when you pass that measly mortal test of skill,” Wukong said, not giving a second thought about the U.A.’s entrance exam as he did a motion for Midoriya to copy his downward strike.

“We’ll start slow before getting faster at the 30-second mark,” Wukong said as he let Erlang take over.

Wukong summoned his cloud as he jumped up on it, “I’ll be back, I’m gonna see if I can still find my favorite spot is still where I remember it,” Wukong lied as he sped off toward who knows where.

With Wukong.

‘Ok, let’s see if anyone found DBK,’ Wukong thought as he sped toward Musutafu Square.

‘It’s nearby. I can sense it, but also something else, something I haven’t felt since before my second imprisonment,’ Wukong thought as he flew toward a construction site with bullhorns surrounded by flames.

‘As subtle as ever,’ Wukong thought as he snorted.

Wukong jumped off his cloud before transforming into a butterfly as he made his way through pipes and elevator shafts before finally getting to his destination, Ruyi Jingu Bang.

Wukong then transformed into a beautiful bird with his colors of orange, caucasian, with streaks of red and sea foam blue.

Wukong flew through the caverns before finding a resting spot on a pipe a few yards away from his staff to see his former brother's son and wife, along with a few bull clone robots.

“It’s almost ready, Mother. Just a few more months until the device is ready, and then Father shall be free again!” Red Son yelled in a dramatic fashion as his hair flamed wildly.

“Yes, and these ‘Heroes’ won’t know what hit them. What a pathetic society, and the mortals who once feared the gods now claim to be them themselves. Truly pathetic,” Princess Iron Fan said, wearing red robes with intricate designs with golden linings.

“Indeed, Mother. And since the gods trapped that simian,  we shouldn’t need to worry about him until we decide to release him ourselves,” Red Son said, wearing pince-nez glasses, a bright red overcoat with dark purple pants with suspenders hanging to the sides, with purple combat boots.

‘I guess my return hasn’t been revealed yet, or someone is keeping it under wraps somehow,’ Wukong thought as he wondered how no one noticed his energy being released into the world after so long of it being contained.

“Hm? It seems a nosey shapeshifter is spying on our affairs,” Princess Iron Fan said before summoning her Iron Fan and giving a simple wave of it toward Wukong, who dodged by a feather.

“Wait… those colors. It can’t be!! We should’ve felt your presence!!” Red Son yelled in surprise and fear.

Wukong transformed into three different things before transforming into his base form in order: A bear, a stone egg, and finally a tiger, before going back to his base form.

“Sup! So~... How’s it going?” Wukong asked nervously as he scratched behind his head.

“How are you here? We would’ve felt your release like an ant would feel a flood wash over themselves,” PIF asked as she gets into a more offensive stance.

“I can only guess The Great Buddha has something to do with it, or maybe something else was masking it,” Wukong said, thinking back to one of his old brothers.

“Grrr, it doesn’t matter, we will free father from your staff and rule this world of superpeasants under our boot,” Red Son said, summoning fire to his hands as he widen his stance with his hands at his sides.

“I’m not here for my staff, well, I am, but not to retrieve it. I just wanted to make sure I know where it is before sending someone else to get it,” Wukong said.

PIF and Red Son looked at Wukong in surprise before returning to their stances. “Do you really believe we would fall for that! Why would the great Monkey King send someone else to retrieve something as simple as his own staff?” PIF asked, lifting her iron fan at Wukong.

“Part of his training. I want to think him retrieving my staff for himself is a good way to tell how far he has gotten in his training,” Wukong said, not realizing how idiotic his plan sounds.

“...”

“...”

Both PIF and Red Son looked at Wukong in disbelief before looking at each other.

“You, Sun Wukong, great sage equal to heaven, the simian that caused countless havoc in every realm, are training a mortal to take your staff?” PIF asked incredulously.

“Yup, he released me, so I owe him a favor–” “He WHAT!?!?!?” PIF and Red Son yelled, breaking their stances in surprise and anger.

“A mere mortal peasant released you from imprisonment!?!?! How!?!?!” Red Son asked.

“I feel like we’re getting off topic, but The Great Buddha sent him my way. He wanted to be a hero, but this stupid world kept saying he couldn’t until I promised him I would train him, etc, etc,” Wukong said.

“I still don’t believe you, of all beings, would train a mortal, a powerless one at that,” PIF said.

“You think right? But the kid surprised me by absorbing a bit of my power and adding to his own dormant power,” Wukong said.

PIF and Red Son looked on in surprise at hearing someone in this day and age having a dormant power not related to what the mortals call ‘Quirks’, but instead something older.

“Are you saying that he might be one of the last mystic mortals on this pathetic realm?” Red Son asked.

“If that is true, then he should be under our tutelage and not yours,” PIF said, voice gaining interest as the more she hears of this ‘student’ of Wukong.

Wukong quickly realizes he said too much and just put his only student in more danger than just being near him.

“Umm, (Cough) then again, maybe it’s some weird Quirk that the mortals have?” Wukong tried to lie nervously but was failing.

“Red Son, let us depart. We have other things to attend to now that there are some new pieces on the board,” PIF said, turning toward Wukong’s staff with Red Son behind her as they disappeared in a tornado of wind.

Wukong looks to where they were before, looking at his staff, still in the ground, imprisoning his brother.

“Don’t worry, bud, you’ll be free soon, just hold on for a bit longer,” Wukong said, hoping his brother doesn’t go too hard on his student.

Wukong transforms into a bird before flying up the elevator shaft and into the open air; he sees the bull clones disguising themselves as they walk about the citizens of Japan.

He flew quickly to the edge of the country so he can transform and fly on his cloud back to his island to help train Midoriya.

Back with this fic and a few more. Unfortunately, this will be a slow update, obviously, but I’ll try to find time to write this and make an ending worthy of the great Monkey King.

Anyways, keep on believing and readin’! PEACE!!!
